Not even close to being his top album, let alone a top album. Fondness for Bob stops it being a 2 or a 1 star entry.
Didn't want it to end, loved every second!
Not sure what that was all about...
Hadn't listened to this and there are some genuinely brilliant tracks on here that are instantly some of their best work. Some of the others are just fine, not bad, not good, just fine, and that's what stops it from being 5 stars!
A good album, nowhere near as good as Original Pirate Material. Felt like more of a commercial album compared to what had come before it, but still an enjoyable listen and something I would welcome listening to again and again
Dragged on a bit, some great tracks that instantly transported me back to listening to this for the first time when I was a teenager. However, some of them were a bit meh and ultimately made it feel like a bit of a slog.
A solid three, some nice tracks, some that I couldn't tell you about. A nice pace, was building some flatpack furniture whilst listening to this and had to switch to something a bit faster in order to complete it as I'd fallen behind.
Overplayed, overhyped, over it! Couldn't wait for this to end, every track felt more torturous than the last
Not sure who this is for, but it's not for me...
Pleasant enough but didn't set the world on fire. It all merged into one hazy social club back in track which wasn't a problem but not didn't have anything that stood out.
This was a tough listen. Started off thinking I might like it after the first song, but everything after that had me begging for mercy. Narrowly avoided a one star rating as I had to skip the last three tracks for the sake of my sanity.
A solid listen, can't believe I haven't heard it before. Some really good tracks that I enjoyed immensely on a Friday morning with very little going on.
Not my bag, very 80s with the odd track I'd listen to again but ultimately I'd just walk on by...
It was a solid enough album, only a couple of tracks really got me singing along. A lot of their "hits" weren't on it which is fair enough, but they started to sound the same after a while. Nothing wrong with it, sure it was great at the time, but doesn't set my world on fire!
Solid dad rock, enjoyable and didn't wanna turn it off. Hard to dislike this
Inoffensive 80s music. Didn't wow me, didn't hate it.
I know there are people who will love this album, but sadly I'm not one of them. I enjoy jazz but this was too much, long tracks with free-form arrangements that had me begging for it to end. I suspect this is exactly the reason why a lot of people don't like jazz, and that's a shame but musically each performance was very good, but as a whole it had me banging my head against a brick wall!
A superb offering from one of the greatest bands ever! This was an absolute tonic after the disaster of listening to Miles Davis the day before, just what was needed to get me back on track. Some amazing tracks, didn't get five stars as I felt nothing topped the first track but that's just personal preference.
A seminal album, every track complimented by each other and something I could listen to over and over again...and have
I listened to this before and not thought much of it, this time around was no different. Very samey, not overly interesting or profound but relatively inoffensive.
Instantly forgettable. Not a single track I could listen to and think "that was something I'll go back to". Had no pre-conceived ideas or notions about this or them, but something to avoid in future.
Not my favourite Pink Floyd album but an absolute joy to listen to from start to finish. Musically diverse, each track picking up where the last left off but in a style all of its own.
A splendid album which I had no preconceived ideas about. Despite the weirdness of Live and Let Live (which has nothing to do with Apu), I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would
This album screams 80s! If a sounds defined a decade this is it, great songs, some variety but at the same time maybe one or two tracks too long for me. 13 minutes of Welcome to the Pleasuredome could've been cut down, but I'm nit-picking. A solid four star offering!
Surprisingly enjoyable, hadn't heard of them or the album before. The opening track seemed familiar, like I've heard it before somewhere but couldn't place where. A bit all over the place at times but it kinda added to its charm.
A bit much, way too long and just not what I needed to start my weekend off right if I'm honest
It was fine, it didn't really do much for me but it didn't upset me either. I'm not sure if I was in the right frame of mind for it, but it seemed to go by rather quickly but without any malice or interest.
Not my bag at all, none of the tracks appealed to me in any way and I couldn't tell you a single thing about it after listening.
A delightful listen and a great accompaniment to my commute. Each track was a pleasant retreat away from the chaos and busy-ness around me. Whilst there was only one track I'd heard before, the other tracks were a great compliment to it. Didn't give it five stars only because there are other albums of theirs which I prefer.
A seminal album, hadn't heard them before but their influence on hip-hop and rap music is monumental. The album flew by in a flurry of jazz backed hard hitting lyrics, samples of classics, and future classics all neatly wrapped!
Some really nice tracks, made my morning listening to this. Some of the tracks weren't for me, but they weren't horrendous. More the arrangement on them wasn't entirely necessary. His vocals and guitars were superb throughout, it would've been five stars in some of the jazz elements on a few songs were stripped back.
An album of pure toe-tapping delight from start to finish. The talent on show here is unmatched and I could listen to it over and over again in a range of scenarios.
