Popular Reviews

Tommy by The Who

much more psychadelic than i expected, goes kind of downwards in the second half

Le Tigre by Le Tigre

I'm happy this was short. To me it felt they were trying really hard to sound like not trying. I understand it has a political background, but I do not care to listen to the message if the medium is boring.

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Feb 11 2026

fun and surprising

Tommy by The Who
Feb 12 2026

much more psychadelic than i expected, goes kind of downwards in the second half

American Idiot by Green Day
Feb 13 2026

makes much more sense when im older

Ten by Pearl Jam
Feb 16 2026

one of my all time favorites

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Feb 17 2026

Definitelly interesting, will give another listen.

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Feb 18 2026

Night Shift was nice. Some were less to my taste because of the repetition, but the mood was nice because of guitars. I don't like the mix. Voodoo dolly was cool.

Hms Fable by Shack
Feb 19 2026

Dad rock, did nothing for me.

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Feb 20 2026

Not memorable for me, but sounds good

Blur by Blur
Feb 23 2026

I'm guessing this isn't something I was supposed silently on my headphones to listen to while at work because it just didn't feel interesting. The last song was cool, though.

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Feb 24 2026

Very short but all hits. Makes sense why he was so popular.

British Steel by Judas Priest
Feb 25 2026

Amazing sounding guitars. I don't think I will be coming back, even though some songs were amazing.

A Girl Called Dusty by Dusty Springfield
Feb 26 2026

Great singing, but the album and the arrangements did not capture my attention.

Ananda Shankar by Ananda Shankar
Feb 27 2026

Very interesting and the arrangements are great. The in-your-face sitar gets repetative after a couple of songs. Mamata was great.

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Mar 02 2026

I can see why someone would like this but it just isn’t enough of anything for me.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Mar 03 2026

This album had a lot going on. Some songs were sounding so good it felt like they were actually touching my brain. Some of if was boring.

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Mar 05 2026

Great sounding guitars and vocals. Obviously great songs. "For You" was beautiful.

Walking Wounded by Everything But The Girl
Mar 06 2026

Feels extremely 90's but not outdated. Got a bit forgetful for me in the end.

xx by The xx
Mar 09 2026

Used to listen to this all the time so it's hard to give it an honest review since all the songs feel familiar and natural. If I had to give it a flaw, it would definitely be the lack of range. Everything feels the same, like describing the same feeling even though some are happy and some are sad songs. But I guess that gives it a feeling of cohesiveness. Favorites: Intro, Fantasy, Crystalised.

Mar 10 2026

Cool album, obviously some songs very familiar. I liked: - I bet you look good on the dancefloor - Red light indicates doors are secured - When the sun goes down The songs are fast, precise and with great choruses. The drums stand out to me.

No Other by Gene Clark
Mar 11 2026

I'm sorry, this was just boring. I don't understand how this is important.

Raw Power by The Stooges
Mar 12 2026

Extremely high energy, nice guitar parts and pumping drums. Ultimately, it felt lacking some structure to me, but I can understand why it was important.

Welcome To The Pleasuredome by Frankie Goes To Hollywood
Mar 13 2026

I did not expect to like this as much as I did. This album is crazy, has many epic moments. It felt extremely 80s but in the best way possible. I feel like this is very close to what The Clash were doing in the later years but in a different genre. I especially liked the long and epic "Welcome to The Pleasuredome" (song).

From Elvis In Memphis by Elvis Presley
Mar 16 2026

Fun listen and some classic songs. "Mama liked the Roses" was a find for me.

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground
Mar 17 2026

Nothing about this made me feel I needed to hear this before I die. Most songs felt familiar in a boring way. Some were just too much like "Jesus" and "The Murder Mystery". I'm not surprised "Candy Says" and "Pale Blue Eyes" stand out with listen count because they were really stand outs on the album for me.

The Velvet Underground & Nico by The Velvet Underground
Mar 18 2026

The Velvet Underground two days in a row... This might make me biased. But music is biased already, I guess. I'm sorry, this was boring at times and noisy at different times. I will not be coming back to this.

Among The Living by Anthrax
Mar 19 2026

Fast songs, heavy guitars, high pitch drums - what more could you want? Well, apparently different vocals. Might be the reason I never got into this band. Still liked this.

Fuzzy Logic by Super Furry Animals
Mar 20 2026

The guitars were pretty harsh and noisy but the drums were clear and beautiful. Why? The songs were not offensive, but were not memorable for me either. For example, "Hangin' with Howard Marks" starts great IMO, but goes nowhere. That's how the whole thing felt to me.

Rio by Duran Duran
Mar 23 2026

I liked "Rio", "My Own Way" and really liked "The Chauffer". The rest was kind of forgettable and repetitive.

1984 by Van Halen
Mar 24 2026

This felt cheesy to me. I liked "Jump" and "Panama" but the rest was all crazy sex talk.

Low-Life by New Order
Mar 25 2026

Songs I liked: - Sunrise - Love Vigilantes - Elegia Very moody, but some of it felt too soft to me. I liked it all in all.

The Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Mar 26 2026

Great song. Oh, that was the whole album? Oops. I guess I liked the sound and the vibe and "The Model" was really good, but the rest was just fun, but not in a way that would make me want to listen to this again.

Kid A by Radiohead
Mar 27 2026

A truly great album. So soft and heavy at the same time. Today is an extremely cloudy and rainy day so this fit like a glove. Nothing about this was virtouso or show-offy - completely in the opposite direction. Definitely a revelation for me, even though I gave Radiohead a listen from time to time. I think i need to give this a proper listen and a read of the lyrics. Favs: - Everything in its right place - How to disappear completely - Idioteque

Mar 30 2026

I have of course heard the hits but had no idea they fit so well inside of a cohesive album. Some surprises: - Hoodoo - Assassin - Soldier's Poem !!! Albums like these are what keep me doing this challenge.

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
Mar 31 2026

You can just feel this was made by someone who made a lot of good music already. It has it all; hits, sad songs, deep cuts, ... I liked it.

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Apr 01 2026

I would not call this forgettable since I could not even remember it in the first place.

Vespertine by Björk
Apr 02 2026

This felt surreal but raw. Kind of uncanny, I don't really know where to put it. I liked it, though.

Le Tigre by Le Tigre
Apr 03 2026

I'm happy this was short. To me it felt they were trying really hard to sound like not trying. I understand it has a political background, but I do not care to listen to the message if the medium is boring.

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Apr 06 2026

This felt like I knew which hotels have the best whiskey in every major town.

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Apr 07 2026

Too vanilla for me. Not grunge enough, not Deftones enough, ... But a watered-down version of the two.

Psychocandy by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Apr 08 2026

Meh... What else can I say? I would have to make myself come up with something. Just went nowhere and had nothing of meaning to me.

Something/Anything? by Todd Rundgren
Apr 09 2026

This seems like a wild experiment and a show of force. I liked some parts and some were less interesting to me. The heavier rock songs were the best to me. Seems like an album Tyler The Creator would do if he was alive in the 70s and liked rock.

The White Album by Beatles
Apr 10 2026

I can see why it is big and there were some songs which I liked. But I still cannot get into The Beatles.

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Apr 13 2026

Less interesting than Kid A. More on the electronic side (or just felt like it?). Some highlights: - Pyramid song - I Might be wrong - Knives Out - Morning Bell

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Apr 14 2026

Some songs obviously already familiar to me. The whole album felt cohesive and meaningful. I will have to give it a listen when I have a chance to be more focused on it.

Boy In Da Corner by Dizzee Rascal
Apr 15 2026

I like grime in general and this felt like a starting point to where grime went later on. I cannot say I liked all of it. Some parts I found childish and purposefully low quality made. I'm taking about all the froggy and child voices. But some songs were actually really good: - Stop Dat - I Luv U - Seems 2 Be

The Visitors by ABBA
Apr 16 2026

Not a big ABBA fan. Or to put it better, not an ABBA fan at all. This album was no exception for me. Even though the sound was a bit different from what I grew to expect from them, it was not enough for me. Some outliers though: - The Visitors - Like An Angel Passing Through my Room - Should I Laugh or Cry

Damaged by Black Flag
Apr 17 2026

Very fitting to get this album after ABBA. Felt like a breath of fresh air. Nothing fake about it. Listening to this makes you want to open a slightly warm beer while walking to a dusty concert with your friends who don't like to talk about jobs and relationships. Instead, they talk about the current affairs and what's wrong with the world. A bit too hardcore punk for me, but I will give it a listen again for sure.

Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Apr 20 2026

I never got into Nick Cave. He always seemed to pop up on every festival and my honest opinion on his performances was that they were not interesting. Just seemed like something my dad would be into. I gave it a real listen and actually already knew a lot of these songs. I get it, he's a great writer. What I usually like is artists showing their musical skills with playing. I guess his skill is songwriting. I listened to the album 4 times during the weekend. I might be a Nick Cave fan after all. Just not a Nick Cave concert goer.

Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen
Apr 21 2026

I just don't find this interesting. Every song is like something you would hear at an older couples wedding or at the end of your high school dance. I liked "Adam Raised a Cain" and "Streets of Fire". There were some points were Bruce started singing like a madman. But those moments were brief and soon forgotten sadly.

Shalimar by Rahul Dev Burman
Apr 22 2026

At least it's not some random British uninspiring noise band.

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Apr 23 2026

Such an amazing debut album. Even without that in mind, the opening of the albums might be one of the best ever. It had some low points for me (You Shook Me and I Can't Quit You Baby) due to their sexual nature but even those were showcases of great performances. There is something about Led Zeppelin that is mystical and makes them sound important that I can't quite put my finger on and rarely any other bands can match.

Slanted And Enchanted by Pavement
Apr 24 2026

I do not care about this. I kept wanting to skip songs which is something I promised myself I wouldn't do while doing this "challenge". All the songs - the instruments, the singing, the mix felt small. I cannot explain it better. I kept waiting for the songs to exit the old radio effect. The only semi-interesting songs were: - Zurich is Stained - Here

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Apr 27 2026

Wow, this was enjoyable. Nothing was predictable about it. I think this needs a couple more listens for me to form a real opinion. And I will definitely give it a couple more listens. This is what I hope to get from this challenge. Great albums I probably have no chance of hearing on my own.

Apr 28 2026

I find the Smiths like honey; fine for a taste but too much for a meal. What it lacks for me is some kind of release - a heavier or happier song. It almost happened with Death at One’s Elbow but that song was just not doing anything for me and it was too late anyway.

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Apr 30 2026

I did not expect Meat Loaf to be this. I expect some cheesy hard rock for some reason. But I did not like it.

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
May 04 2026

Great production but that’s it.

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
May 05 2026

You're home for the holidays and it's a slow day between two get-together days. With your head slightly aching, you go to your local bar and meet the buddy you haven't seen in ages. The two of you try to have a conversation but the bar is too loud so he recommends having a couple of beers at his place. The beers flow slower than usual and you get him to play the guitar like he did when you had a long time before. You sing along to songs you forgot you knew. It feels like magic. This is how this album sounds to me.

Picture Book by Simply Red
May 06 2026

I like the 80s vibe and the airy feeling this has. Otherwise, I was simply (bo)red.

Cut by The Slits
May 07 2026

I knew about them through the "Stay Free" podcast. Never listened to their music on it's own. I cannot say this was amazing, but it has it's special moments: - Newtown - Typical Girls - I Heard it Through the Grapevine The guitars were small and tight which works on some songs, not so much on others. I liked the bass even though it was too mushy at times. The vocals were authentic and fitting. The drums were possibly the highlight of the whole album. Which now as I read the Wiki page it seems was a session drummer...

May 08 2026

I did not get it on the first listen, but the end of the album made me relisten since it was much better. The arrangements are great and the lyrics are fitting. I just find the vocal performance dull. More like spoken word than singing.

First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans
May 11 2026

A fun album. Definitely sounds like music you would while on the end of a breakdown. Weird sounding pop music made by metalheads. I liked it.

Achtung Baby by U2
May 12 2026

Some great tunes, some less great. But I love how they create a mood and how it sustains through a song.

May 13 2026

I get why someone would assume Kurt Cobain ghostwrote this. It feels raw, harsh but also vulnerable and authentic. A cool album, but I could not remember any of the songs the next day sadly.

Midnight Ride by Paul Revere & The Raiders
May 14 2026

Now this was a collection of songs... Felt like a compilation or a mixtape, not so much an album. At times it felt like songs from different bands. I can see why this would make someone want to leave the band.

May 15 2026

It starts off good, but sometime near the middle it goes down. I just can't get into the Beatles. Not hard enough to rock (expect the start), not experimental enough to prog, not pleasant enough to pop. On the other hand, I can see why someone would like it. I'm the same way about sushi and you cannot change me. A great album, nevertheless.

Disintegration by The Cure
May 19 2026

I always liked this album. The sound is really big but still vulnerable to convey the emotion. It always feels like it is slowing down which makes you give into it to enjoy it. I think you could listen to this on sad and on happy days. That, I believe, shows great depth.

California by American Music Club
May 21 2026

The Cure and Hootie and the Blowfish had a crazy night and produced a baby. That baby then took its prescribed medicine and made this album. The beginning I did not like, but the further it went the better it got. I guess the medicine wore of. I was sure it was a 90s album but when I saw it was from 1988 I understood that this album really was ahead of its time.

Deserter's Songs by Mercury Rev
May 22 2026

I'm sorry but this is just not my thing. I like that they went less commercial and enjoyed what they did, but this does not click with me.

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
May 25 2026

Beautifully written songs and performed with gusto. I can't say I will remember anything after the first half.

May 26 2026

"Simple man" is one of those songs that are undeniably great in my opinion but also, pun-intended, simple. On the other hand, it doesn't fit on this album. The other undeniably great song is "Free Bird" which fits like a glove. I like the album overall, but a lot of the songs do not come close to the hits so it feels really unbalanced. Also all the Confederate flag stuff.

We Are Family by Sister Sledge
May 27 2026

Wow I knew every one of these songs. And I never heard about Sister Sledge. That's influence for you.

May 28 2026

This album covered a lot of genres and styles so I cannot say what the genre of it is. I appreciate the idea and the balls to do it, but it did nothing for me.

Crazysexycool by TLC
May 29 2026

Just a weird album. Some really high moments, but also a lot of lows. The interludes are not interesting enough for me to warrant their existence (as is the case for most interludes).

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Jun 02 2026

The guitars are just like Janis Joplin's voice: harsh but warm. I like the dynamic range this has.

Porcupine by Echo And The Bunnymen
Jun 03 2026

I think I could have gone through life without hearing this. Everything about this is fine. You aren't singing out of tune, but you're not doing anything special, either. You aren't off the beat, but you aren't being interesting either. You aren't using the off-the-shelf piano, but your sound isn't cool either. I just don't get it. There are points where they open it up and it feels like I could get into it, but the songs mostly end there or close back up.

Step In The Arena by Gang Starr
Jun 04 2026

Such a clear and eloquent presentation. It sounds older than it is but there are no gimmicks, no smokes to hide lack of skill. The whole thing works because of their bravado and strong execution.

Boston by Boston
Jun 05 2026

This is like watching someone doing something on the edge of their abilities but with extreme confidence. Just a well rounded album with some heavy hitters. Almost makes me feel like I should buy a motorcycle or at least a convertible.

Jun 08 2026

Hard not to groove to this. It has a pumping beat throughout the whole album which I feel would make it perfect for driving on a summer day with the windows down. Or next to a pool with a beer. I will try both asap. City, Country, City seems out of place but was a good song nevertheless.

Jun 09 2026

Something about R.E.M. just feels strange and unappealing. I probably heard their whole discography and know a lot of it by heart. The problem I have with it is the emotional songs don't make me feel the same emotion they are singing about and the bops miss something poppy. On the other hand, I gave this a good listen and found that the less popular of their songs are more interesting to me than the hits. Songs I liked: - Sweetness follows - Monty got a Raw deal - Nightswimming - Find the river

Wild Gift by X
Jun 10 2026

If they were my friends I would go to their gigs and buy their CD. But they are not my friends so I will probably never listen to this again.

Frampton Comes Alive by Peter Frampton
Jun 11 2026

Such a great live album. The performances are clear and well done, the sound is awesome. Just a great showcase of what a live album should be if you ask me.

Fifth Dimension by The Byrds
Jun 12 2026

I feel like I would have to apologize to someone if I got them to do the 1001 albums challenge and this was the first album they got. It's not bad, I just don't understand what is special about it. And the "the album is notable for being the first by the Byrds not to include any songs written by Bob Dylan" just solidifies my opinion. Maybe I just don't resonate with the Byrds, but after listening to 2 of their albums, 999 albums to listen to before you die is good enough for me.

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Jun 15 2026

Some albums I have just heard so many time they feel natural to me. I don't get excited by them, I feel like I am drinking water. But it doesn't happen to most of this album, no matter how many thousands of times I've listened to this. Even after all this time I get the excitement when showing this album to someone who hasn't heard it before. Almost like letting someone in on a secret - but this is no secret. Everyone know how big this album is.

Sunday At The Village Vanguard by Bill Evans Trio
Jun 16 2026

Great first half, a bit too much of bass solos in the second half. But I loved the last song. I will have to relisten to have a real opinion.

Mothership Connection by Parliament
Jun 17 2026

Such a smooth experience. The sounds still feels relevant and interesting, maybe because I'm not a big funk connoisseur. Anyways, it's going on my playlist.

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Jun 18 2026

Not the biggest Stones fan, if a fan at all. But you can hear their influence on all that followed. I just like what followed more.

Everything Must Go by Manic Street Preachers
Jun 19 2026

this is going to the relisten folder, I did not form an opinion. But I can say it sounds like Deftones through a un-heavy filter.

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
Jun 22 2026

Great album. Definite relisten to give more of my thoughts. Actually, I listened to it 6 times over the weekend and still feel like I have not explored it enough. I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing.

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jun 23 2026

I am not a big Bob Marley fan. I tried to get into it, listened to all the songs and my brother also gave his best by listening to him in the room next to mine for years. A lot of it feels too repetitive and similar. On the other hand, I cannot deny that this is really warm and comforting while talking about important topics.

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
Jun 24 2026

An instant classic for me. I knew about John Coltarne, I knew what he represents but just never got around to listening to his music. Starting this challenge I knew his stuff would come up so I waited. Good thing I did, this feels extremely smooth but sharp. Heavy in a soft way. Gotta give this a 5.

McCartney by Paul McCartney
Jun 25 2026

A fun album. Does not sound like something I would imagine was made during a period of depression and confusion. Seems like something made after acceptance and reinventing oneself. But who am I to tell. I like the low interference of production and the less polished sound more than I liked the Beatles sound.

Nick Of Time by Bonnie Raitt
Jun 26 2026

I like this. Maybe it's the pleasant voice or the strong and meaningful lyrics. The lyrics are delivered in a meaningful and emotional way. I get why this would get on someone's nerves if overplayed, but I think that is not the intended vision for this as was with so much of pop of today. I think it just happened to be replayable and enjoyable. Surprisingly for me, I enjoyed the pop songs more than I enjoyed the blues songs. Both were fitting though and I liked the combination. The really meaningful song was the title song and the lyrics really hit me. Damn the passage of time. But wait, there is a happy ending in acceptance and a bit of delusion.

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Jun 29 2026

One of those albums that perfectly fit in the category "I get this is important and appreciate it, but it just won't be on my shelf". The performance is stellar, the beats innovative and cool. No denying it's a rap classic. But I am not going to listen to it again just because everyone else says I should.

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Jun 30 2026

I generally like it, but nothing grips me fully. The guitar sounds are nice and crips, even surprisingly modern at times but in a good way. I guess that's what a lot of indie and modern blues bands are emulating. The vocals sound angry, no other way to describe it. I just don't like the drum and the bass sound, I think the shallowness takes away from the great performance by the drummer and the bassist.

Kimono My House by Sparks
Jul 02 2026

This has it all. All the things I do not like: theatrical, wonky and cartoonish. It's an artists artist I would say. They do something the mainstream artists wish they had the balls for. But there is a reason why.

Crosby, Stills & Nash by Crosby, Stills & Nash
Jul 03 2026

An interesting album. This is what I feel like the Beatles could be if they were slight more on the rock scale. But there were also some gems which did not fit into regular rock standards like "Guinnevere", "Wooden Ships" which was surprisingly before it's time, "Lady on the Island" which was beautiful. A nice album which is going on my playlist.

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Jul 07 2026

I just cannot get into this enough to listen to the whole thing. I'm sorry, maybe in the future I will relisten.

I’m a Lonesome Fugitive by Merle Haggard
Jul 08 2026

I cannot remember almost anything about this and I listened to it yesterday.

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Jul 10 2026

This is a crazy one. I will have to give it a relisten to really give a meaningful review.

Jul 13 2026

A great album with great production and some not-so-great rapping at times. The songs where Kanye is vulnerable and not overly braggy (eg. are really game-changing (eg All of the Lights, Runaway, Lost in the World). The other stuff seems childish and disingenuous (Hell Of a Life, Devil in a New Dress). And of course there are some which are in the middle but are also bangers, such as POWER and Monster.

The Genius Of Ray Charles by Ray Charles
Jul 14 2026

Such a cool album. This is what you listen to when you are able to take life's hardships on the chin and keep smiling.

Berlin by Lou Reed
Jul 15 2026

Every artist who tries to make something moody but without sounding like they are trying too hard should listen to this. There is just something about it that makes it feel like it is drenched in emotion. I love it, but I have to give it a relisten to give more.

Heaux Tales by Jazmine Sullivan
Jul 16 2026

I like the production, the vocal performances and the delivery felt clear enough that I can understand what the album about. I just don't care about the subject matter. I get that it talks about "feminism, sexuality, ..." but come on. That's not what this is really about. It's about shallow relationships and sex. You can't talk about how you are looking for someone with a lot of money and in the next song talk about how you are with someone just because of the D. I find the whole thing childish at best, if not naive. Nothing about this feels thought out or deliberate, expect for the choice of topics which kind of go together and the interludes matching the songs. One song I absolutely love: Girl Like Me. Might be because of H.E.R. I enjoyed the album, but cannot say it fits in the whole point of this website. As someone else said in the reviews: "What was left out to make room for this?"

I mean... Maybe if I took some LSD? Otherwise, it's too psych for me.

An interesting piece of music and an obvious influence for all the indie bands. But I don't like indie music that much. What even is indie? Why is it called indie? How does the fact you aren't signed to a label define your genre?

A great album which I do not think I ever listened to in sequence. Some songs I do not like (Enter Sandman, Of Wolf and Man) because I find them uninteresting and sort of forced upon me. Some are different than what they did before and feel interesting (The Unforgiven, Nothing Else Matters) and some are similar to the old albums in a good way (The God that Failed, My Friend of Misery).

This is going to the relisten playlist. I think it needs more than one pass to review.

This album feels like family. I wouldn't listen to this with strangers, only friends and family. Just like you would not watch Christmas movie with someone from work. I have it on vinyl and it gets a lot of spins. The A side is simply legendary.

Yeah, it has it's moments but overall not that interesting.

Oh man... On the first listen it is music I thought an old man made. Then I realized it was a kid. Burdened with pain older than himself and no skills to deal with it. I think he understands that his problems are not large enough to cause so much pain but cannot deal with them all the same. That's what I think the "Poor Boy" song tries to explain. That's what depression is - an illness. On the music part of this album - The guitars are wonderfully different from how we are taught to play guitar. They are arranged more like piano than guitar. And the tunings allow the guitar to convey more rhythm than the standard tuning does. The singing is mellow and fitting. I would call it beautifully shy and I understand why it would be hard to sing like that in front of a large crowd. The piano is great and at times the only thing that dares to be a bit crazy. I wonder if he had fame he wished for, would it be easier or harder for him?

A classic if there ever was one. One of the lines just perfectly describes what I remember while being sick as a kid: "When I was a child, I had a fever My hands felt just like two balloons" One of those albums that make you understand why you should listen to albums from cover to cover. And also one of those albums which make you understand why listening with focus makes sense. The arrangements do not feel like songs necessarily, but more like telling a story. If you made something like this, there is no denying you are one of the greats. If you ask me, in 100 years this will be remembered and taught in schools.

Such an energetic album. I love all the crazy guitars, vocals, drums, and THE BASS. This is the album you give your cousin to get into metal.

I expected to be blown away by this. But, except for some beautiful moments, I found this a bit dull and uninspiring.
