Lots of interesting sounds and life. Just not my jam though

Oh George. This one never hooked me.

Good sounds in the songs but didn't go beyond that for me

I liked this more than their Eliminator album. The songs sounded more differenter from each other.

Lot of these albums seem similar. Does the 1001 albums guy have 70's nostalgia? This was all 'meh' for me, except the epic outro in the last song, which bumped it from 2 to 2.49!

This is prob objectively a good album, just beyond my depth to truly appreciate

This was pretty good. Though not what I expected; I thought Bowie would be um, weirder. I did like in the title track the part where he beat the hell out of out of the piano for like 2 minutes. That was cool.

Apparently I'm a Janis Joplin fan

Man, The Doors has such a unique sound (cue keyboard).

I don't know what this is but I'm giving it a 2. And I cannot explain it but feel if I listened to it 10 more times I'd give it a 5.

Got dat discqo ball beat. I just ain't no huge disco fan.

If you play it at 1.5x speed it sounds like disco.

Good, but imho not the best of the Cure

Did not enjoy it much, but nice to hear what The Who sound like.

Diff Elvis than the Costello I expected. Not mind-blowingly my great, but I actually enjoyed it.

That journey was great and full of many adventures. Listened to twice in a row.

Had some really interesting naturisticifical moments. But also lots of eh. Still neither of my two favorite songs of hers.

Neat brass. Just kinda liked other, more low-key jazz stuff more.

It's objectively better than a 2 but it all just sounded so much the same.

I liked the sounds of this band's groove du-wops more for some reason than others from this era.

Their songs start so strong. Then the singing and other things happen. It's like a cheese grater that takes in a perfectly good block of cheese and outputs eel guts.

IMHO something a little otherworldly about him. I.e. Corpus Christi: may not be your jam, but such a good performance. There's a Jimmy Eat World song with lyrics, "A song for a heart so big, God wouldn't let it live". Dunno if I agree or not, but makes you think about people who die too young.

This seems like it wanted to stand out, but just could not to me. Nifty splash blam bonk bazoom older rock, but it never bounced itself out of the box where I tend to put this genre of music.

This grew on me as I listened. Not a lot but a little. Seemed pretty relaxing and original.

IMHO this was one of the best albums ever. Basically every song is great from start to end.

Don't like this as much as -- I think -- some of his newer albums. But he has a pretty high floor for me. His music has unique feel and creativity.

I really like how much Janis Joplin gets after it.

70's noir action movie background music. Oh, it actually is a movie soundtrack. Making this a 1 to protest its inclusion, or at least, the fact it was included but no Bill Conti Rocky soundtracks were also included.

Sometimes I felt like I was listening to Dracula but kind of enjoyed it.

Can't deny I found it pretty good. Octopus's Garden and Here Comes the Sun pushed it higher for me but several others I found ho-hum.

Ehhhhhh. After 2-3 albums I still don't quite understand Bowie's genre.

Sisters of Mercy was really interesting! The rest was a decent audiobook (stole that joke from someone else).

This is true to what it is.

This is just plain good-spirited music. She can sing and most of the songs make a good feel. Unfortunately though a song played at the end, and I thought "hey this is their best one yet" but it was actually a diff artist (Hole).

Sadly it seems I am not a The Police fan.

Look, this album was really good.

(Pasted from my other group. ) Listened to this in isolation a long run. It was, a lot. Eminem is amazing but I felt the sicko skits in this one were kinda overdone. I found myself craving -- I think -- some of his later stuff that has deeper themes.

This feels like the background music of the universe. Ever-permeating its pleasant good tunes into everyone's memories.

This was al-right. I don't think they could have picked an album to make me more baffled about criteria for this list.

To hell with it, I'm giving it a 5.

This song really makes me want to take a vacation. Don't know what rating that translates to, thinking a good-hearted melodic 3.

Awesome background noise rock dream. I liked this.

I find them eh alright. They sort of weird me out. But dang, they are different and I respect that. Also there's the feeling this gives me of Beavis and Butthead music videos.

Hoped to give this more but nothing really gripped me until it auto-played a Jeff Buckley song after it ended. : (

I thought I'd sorta like Beastie Boys but I ended up sorta really, really liking it. Did not expect a Buddhist bent to it.

Man, this band is really neat. It's like tasty, spiced tea for my soul. Something about "Different Point of View": very sad, but riveting.

A sort of wistful travel folk music thing. 3 for its ability to escape any genre typecast I know.

Good but not sensational. Enjoyed but not love. For me, it rocked but did not gggrrrrrrrRRRRRRRWRWAAAAAACK!

Without consciously remembering the name of this album, I was about to give a one-word review: "Groovin'".

Groovy background music throughout the day.

I wanted badly to like this more.

This was enjoyable. I get the sense there is more to the song lyrics if I spent time with them. It's dark, but I really liked 'Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me'.

3, but in the most non-average-3 way. I like her, but other songs not on this album more. *shakes fist*

What genre is this? I want to give this a 2, a 4, and a 3. Should I do 2.34? 4.32? 3.42? Math.trunc(3.42) feels right.

This was pretty great. It especially cranked up toward the end (Momma, Three Bricks...). I might be favoring hip hop unfairly cuz it's so different from the malaise induced by 1972 rock albums. But I'm a adult and i can dew what I want. 4 or 5.

"Wouldn't It Be Nice" and "God Only Knows". I am growing mad respect for this band. I get the impression they were totally unique and mad songs from their own inspiration and creativity.

I want to not get bored with Led Zeppelin. But I get bored with Led Zeppelin.

Beck is cool and different. But only 3-level cool and different for me personally.

In a concert in the bayou among alligators. It did really transport me. Not much my style but for the immersion I give it a 3.

It's not immensely the highest highs or lowest lows, but I generally like all his stuff. And a song or two on here (i.e. Shakwdown on 9th) I really liked.

These guys are a rootin' tootin' good time, never offend me, and always entertain me.

This album is swell. The lead singer's voice grates on me in a confusingly satisfying way. The floor for this album is pretty high; I enjoyed everything. And the ceiling is Disarm, which goes in my rock song Hall of Fame. Their cover of Landslide (although not on this album) may go in my song covers hall of fame.

This is at minimum a 4 for the riffed interaction with prisoners audience and warden announcements. I don't know if I disliked the voice cracks and mistakes or loved that this shit was so genuine. I think I'm more on the enjoy side. Pretty cool he did this, definitely felt transported to that strange place in time.

This tried to earn a 1 but in despite of itself there's a forlorn, un-put-your-finger-on-it-able spot-on-ness and unique feeling created by "The Sound of Someone You Love Who is Going Away and It Doesn't Matter" that lifts it to 2.

I'd happily give this album a 4 forty four days out of four.

"There is a Light That Never Goes Out" is inescapably interesting. But many of the others escaped my interest. Unfortunately for instance the last song, right after that one -- "Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others" -- what the hell was that. But I've actually come to like the Smiths more through this than I thought I would. (Review copied from my other group.)

Layla is just sensational. It's like 2 different songs and each are better than the rest of the album, and the rest of the album is good.

Nightclub inside a Game Boy. 8-bit dancing. Cracking the Konami Code with extremely sound architectural morality.

Mad respect for Dolly but I don't like her faster songs (this album had many) as much as her slow ones. From her song "Wildflowers" from my other group's album today: "So I uprooted myself from my home ground and left Took my dreams and I took to the road When a flower grows wild It can always survive Wildflowers don't care where they grow"

Background radiation music of the universe pulling aliens closer to Earth and yet alienating me further from being awake or even caring. :( 1 or 2

Is this old-school pop music? Is it rock? I am unsure. I did like the kickoff with Ch-ch-ch-changes. This may end up my highest rated Bowie. 3?

This is entertaining but makes me sleepy. Like I'm in a purple-hazed, smokey club and I'm enjoying myself, but growing a little sleepy. 2 or 3

This was pretty fresh and different. Didn't hit with me today but I feel pretty strongly that was a 'my mindset' today thing more than bad music.

Mad respect for The T but this is not my favorite album of hers. Even still it has some good ones (not a lot of songs out there like 'willow').

Wanted to like this, but just weren't my jam.
