Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins

14 year old me heard Disarm on my click radio and road my bike to Tower Records and I bought this album. I took it to my friend's house where we lay on a floor spliting a beer we stole from her mom listening to this album. This time I listened to it while answering annoying emails and team chats. I wish I was laying on the floor sharing a beer with my best friend, it was a better listening experience. For me, this is a 5, maybe you had to be there to understand, but this album is good.

Madman Across The Water by Elton John

Only has 1 good song the rest are very average and one definitely did not age well.

Abbey Road by Beatles

One of the best, but in my opinion not the best Beatles Albums, definitely needs to be heard at least once if not multiple times in your life.

In 1995 I was 17 entering my senior year in high school and I cannot explain how much of an impact it made on every single girl at my school. We played this CD full blast until it was so scratched it skipped. My first beater car's radio did not work so I had a boom box in my car that all the passengers in my car passed around skipping songs and screaming our heads off singing along to this CD. To say this CD is nostalgic for me is an understatement, it's a time capsule of a moment in my life that shaped who I was becoming. Is it the greatest album on this list? No. Is it dated? Yes. Did it have a cultural impact? Absolutely fucking yes. For that reason I can never give it less than 5 stars

Pieces Of The Sky by Emmylou Harris
May 27 2026

Country music what happened to you? This is a beautiful wistful look at Americana, a far cry from the souless dreck that dominates modern country radio. When did you trade your authenticity to be generic pop crap that sounds like it was written by the Swedes? I thought I hated country music, because most of my exposure was post 1995 radio garbage. This album made me want to get iny car and drive across America with the windows down and the wind in my hair.

Maxwell is not responsible for the increase of partner's sex appeal while listening to this album. Maxwell cannot be held responsible for the following: broken beds, pregnancy, missed phone calls, or torn clothing.

Berlin by Lou Reed

Is this an album you should listen to at least once before you die? Yes and you should listen to in order like you just opened the record and put it on your turn table for the first time. Groundbreaking for the time and highly influential. I may have individual taste issues with some of the songs, that does not take from the fact this deserves to be here and is an easy 5

Odessa by Bee Gees
Jun 03 2026

If you are going to listen to a song about a shipwreck, don't listen to Odessa. There are better options. I could have lived my entire life happy and content believing the Bee Gees never released an album prior to 1974. This was terrible.

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Jun 08 2026

I keep waiting for the Rolling Stones to win me over, this album did not do it. It's fine but like everything I hear there is one decent song and a lot of filler.

Murmur by R.E.M.

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins

Bitte Orca by Dirty Projectors
Jun 17 2026

This album could be fine if someone told the man singing in a falsetto to stop. Clearly everyone in this band thinks they are so amazing they have lost the ability to be objective about their work, because anyone who has ears should have known The Bride was garbage and should have been recorded over. Experiment, be weird that is fine, it often pushes music forward, but not every single "experimental" thing made needs to shared, sometimes it's garbage and it is ok to admit it is not good. This album severly suffers from a lack of anyone knowing how to edit the work, some of the songs are good and others make you question your decision to listen to anything on this list.

I think of this less as a "musical" album more as a performance art piece. That being said it is perfectly ok to say this is not good. I think I appreciate it for what it is, but I will never listen to it again. Incidentally I have to get an album released between 1980 to 1983 that was good, was it all the cocaine making people think garbage was good?

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Jul 14 2026
Jul 16 2026

Me listening to every song "arrgh what is this fresh garbage...ok wait this part is not bad if the can just stick with this we might have a good track...and they just ruined it with some prentenious crap and synthizer" 1/3 of every track is good, but that hardly makes up for the 2/3rds of self indulgent garbage that is the rest of the track.

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Jul 20 2026
Fulfillingness' First Finale by Stevie Wonder

This album sounds like the music I had to listen to when I worked at Mervyn's folding the same table of shirts for the 10th time that day.

Ok I was giving this album the benefit of the doubt due to age, even though it does sound like a pile of songs rejected by Salt and Peppa, that was until I got to the song The Next Generation. The lyrics to The Next Generation sounds like song written by a Qanon conspiracy nut, plastic surgery on babies? WTF? I could no longer take her serious as an artist after this song.
