Popular Reviews

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka

It's an incredibly well produced album with a message, but I did start to tune out after a while

Revolver by Beatles
May 23 2026

Staring with an album that I must have listened to 100s of times is no challenge. My favourite Beatles LP. It took a while to get into it, but once I did I loved everything about it. 10/10

Thriller by Michael Jackson
May 24 2026

You can't deny that the singles from this LP are some of the recognizable songs ever. The problem with all Michael Jackson LPS now is that they are somewhat tarnished by the revelations of his life and the activities that happened at the Neverland ranch. Billie Jean, Beat it, Thriller, Wanna be starting something, r enough to give this four stars but the rest of the songs can be taken or left

God spoke unto David and said David create a masterpiece, create a magnum opus, create a piece of work that will go down the musical history and we'll be listening to and assessed and reassessed for all maternity. And David said 'OK mate'. And here we have a man at the peak of his power, musically supreme, the last three tracks being possibly the best ever last real tracks to appear on any album. Needless to say I like this

Dookie by Green Day
May 26 2026

Not so much my thing.i like the hits. Basket Case and Welcome To Paradise. They just sound angry on the rest of the songs

Either Or by Elliott Smith
May 27 2026

Elliott Smith is one of my favourites, but this is not my favourite album. Between the bars, Angeles, Balllad of Big Nothing are my favourite tracks

A Seat at the Table by Solange
May 28 2026

It is not really my kind of music but elements of it were nice and it was very well crafted. It stood out from the usual R&B format

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
May 29 2026

I can appreciate the guitar playing prowess of Hendrix but great guitar work does not necessarily make great songs. You can get phenomenal singers, but if the songs they're singing are awful that's what matters. All along the watchtower is the standout track, mainly because Hendrix didn't write it. Crosstown traffic is great. I could take or leave the rest

The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden
May 30 2026

I don't mind some of the music but I can't stand Bruce Dickinson's voice

The Idiot by Iggy Pop
May 31 2026

A classic album with David Bowie production. Nice experimentation in early new wave

Screamadelica by Primal Scream
Jun 01 2026

This is a ground breaking LP. A true classic

Jun 02 2026

Not a huge jazz fan but this was interesting and intriguing and for people who want to experience music, this is a must listen

Ritual De Lo Habitual by Jane's Addiction
Jun 03 2026

What a great record. This and JA debut of superb. A great mix of funk and Rock.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters by Fiona Apple
Jun 04 2026

A challenging LP than comes across as indulgent by the artist. It is almost an 'emperors clothes ' album. If you don't understand, you are wrong. Well, I guess I'm wrong

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Jun 05 2026

The vulnerability of Buckley's reaches it peak on the epic Hallelujah. This whole LP is a joy, albeit one tainted with tragedy

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Jun 06 2026

Having never listened to the Allman brothers before, I found this album quite enjoyable. Some of the tunes are pretty funky, there's a lot of blues going on. Is it an album to listen to before you die? Probably not, but still worth a lesson

Gold by Ryan Adams
Jun 07 2026

Wow...this is so boring. Really concerned that 1001 is just an arbitrary number..Don't list to this unless you have insomnia

Red Dirt Girl by Emmylou Harris
Jun 08 2026

Again, when you are obligated to choose 1001 albums, you are perhaps stretched this There is nothing remarkable about this LP. It's OK.

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Jun 09 2026

It's an incredibly well produced album with a message, but I did start to tune out after a while

Jun 10 2026

A very interesting album and very different from the expected Chicago sound. A wide range of styles that seem to indicate the band did not know what they wanted to be. Saying that I found the Cetera song quite boring. Lamm writes better IMHO. Beginnings, Listen are good.i have no clue what Free Form Guitar is for

Rid Of Me by PJ Harvey
Jun 12 2026

PJs debut Dry may have been an intense listen but at least it had some warm tones. Rid of me basically removed all the enjoyment and we are left with the musical equivalent of nails down a blackboard. The production is good, the songs are not

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Jun 13 2026

Money for nothing is fantastic. The rest of this album is duller than the dullest dishwater. A total snoozefest. 2/5 but only because I want my MTV

1984 by Van Halen
Jun 17 2026

Jump is a classic. I am happy to not hear the rest of this again

Bongo Rock by Incredible Bongo Band
Jun 18 2026

Ingredients: May contain bongos.

Want One by Rufus Wainwright
Jun 26 2026
Let Love Rule by Lenny Kravitz
Jun 29 2026

Stevie Wonder does it better

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Jul 04 2026

Fantastic musicianship. Eric Crapton before he turned into a tin foil hat wearing loon. I struggle with the singing. Ginger Baker a worse singing drummer than Ringo! And Crapton's reedy voice become wearing. A classic none the less.

Groovin' by The Young Rascals
Jul 05 2026

60 pop perfection

Medúlla by Björk

Aug 01 2026

One of the great albums of all time . Faultless

I Am a Bird Now by Antony and the Johnsons
Aug 02 2026

An acquired taste. There is no doubt that Anohni is an incredibly talented performer. But I'm just not keen on this

Arrival by ABBA
Aug 03 2026
