Songs For Swingin' Lovers! by Frank Sinatra

Dethrones my previous & precious love for ‘Ring a Ding Dong’ as my favourite Sinatra record (I guess I have to have one fine it’s this) Bloody lovely stuff, never paid attention to the orchestration in these kind of records before this. Wonderful.

Debut by Björk

High 4 - FINALLY I’ve been meaning to get into you you weird weird woman god this was so much fun like being in the oddest 90s Pilates session possible, Venus is a Boy supremacy

My Generation by The Who
Jul 07 2026

Buddy I am a The Who lover what can I say?!? It’s not my favourite -‘Quadrophenia’ takes that spot thank you - but this was very enjoyable, didn’t go for the full hour & a half, because that’s not what they initially did in 1965 and I’m not doing it 60 years later sorry team x

Everything Must Go by Manic Street Preachers
Jul 08 2026

Album Generator has allowed me to LOVE Manic Street Preachers and I’m grateful for it. GREAT album however I do not enjoy nearly as much as ‘The Holy Bible’ - I miss the dinginess which made earlier albums so compelling, thus I give a 4, great listen regardless with an all-timer hit single.

Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jul 09 2026

I’m really trying not to use 5’s so flippantly but what else can you do when you listen to Nick Cave?? Listened to a fair bit of his newer stuff which I adore - an older poetic voice against amazing orchestration is one thing, but a slightly younger and heavier version of the same ordeal makes Tom a VERY happy boy indeed. Annoyed I get to hear this for the first time only once.

Wonderful.

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Jul 11 2026

Jul 12 2026

Come Away With Me by Norah Jones
Jul 13 2026

Ahhhh the perfect Sunday album 🤤 It’s Norah Jones, it’s getting 5 stars.

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Jul 14 2026

Was worried I’d find this a bit much but very quickly fell in love - super influential and unlike a whole lot of music I’ve heard so far. Brilliant.

Dear Science by TV On The Radio
Jul 15 2026

This will be the second time I’ve listened to this jarring album through this generator and frankly I have the choice to not do that - so I won’t.

We're Only In It For The Money by The Mothers Of Invention
Jul 17 2026

Today I listened to a song called Hot Poop. Hello again Frank Zappa so nice to see you. So bad it’s good? Or so good it’s bad? Who’s to say - iconic nonetheless god I love these weird bastards x

Rings Around The World by Super Furry Animals

Vivid by Living Colour
Jul 29 2026

LOOK IN MY EYESSSSSSSSS WHAT DO YOU SEEEEEE???? THE CULT OF PERSONALITY 🤤 Utter 80’s guitar worship vibes, although no song even comes CLOSE to ‘Cult of Personality’, a favourite due to my love of wrestling (Moreso my long term fanatic adoration of CM Punk not sorry about it guys) - so much so that I actually won £10 singing and “rocking out” at my schools talent show when I was 12 lol memories xxx P.S - they made a very fun cover of ‘Should I Stay Or Should I Go’ have at it

Truth by Jeff Beck
Jul 30 2026

Good! Probably won’t go back but it was fun while it lasted

Back At The Chicken Shack by Jimmy Smith
Jul 31 2026

Forgot this was playing while I was playing it, such is the risk of such an easy going jazz album in the hands of a fucking idiot such as i

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
Aug 02 2026

A 4 is an album I like or love very much, a 5 is an album that I will be coming back to over and over, enter Simon & Garfunkel, you weird looking geniuses Plain and simple 5 baby - funnily enough one of my albums of the summer alongside Wings & Finley Quaye, utterly sublime x

Kollaps by Einstürzende Neubauten
Aug 03 2026

DNF - My idea of a ‘Sunday Album’ is Nora Jones - not this.

Live At Leeds by The Who
Aug 04 2026

Enjoyed, especially hearing a raucous Leeds crowd which was a nice touch

Peggy Suicide by Julian Cope
Aug 05 2026

Sorry guys this was in one ear and out the other, I’m also ill so that doesn’t help your case Julian COPE

Metal Box by Public Image Ltd.
Aug 06 2026

DNF - I just don’t need this in my life, ergo, it’s a 1

A Walk Across The Rooftops by The Blue Nile
Aug 07 2026

Here’s a first, none of these albums had made me cry beforehand - enter The Blue Nile. What a beautiful surprise! Hadn’t heard a single thing about this album beforehand and I’m happy to say I have not put this album down in over 24 hours, seriously wow! This is, probably, my favourite album of the 80s?? I never gel too well with 80s music at the best of times - way too synthy and dated (you KNOW when you’re listening to an 80s album, which is a part of the identity but god it puts me to sleep) But here’s the rub ladies & gents - it doesn’t sound like it’s from the 80s??? It still has trappings of the time of course but the electronica here just projects this outside that realm of thinking for me - it’s not longer “just 80s music” it’s “evocative as fuck” With that said, ‘A Walk Across The Rooftops’ is the most apt name for this album because that’s what the music feels like. Airy, floating without a care above the world and peering in on the landscape below - on the outside looking in. Truly I was engrossed by this, to the point that I had a little cry (to be specific it was the end of ‘Stay’ going into ‘Easter Parade’, just bloody washed over me lad I stood no chance and I loved it) Long form review over, listen to this, and tell me it’s not a 5, you’ll be arguing with the wall my friends xx

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Aug 08 2026

It’s Pet Sounds. It’s getting a 5. One of the best albums of all time without any hyperbole. Nothing like it, few come close - who else could’ve made ‘God Only Knows’. Rest in peace Brian ❤️

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Aug 09 2026

DNF - come on man stop this I don’t need you please man just stop ok I’ve had enough please man stop that noise ok man please

Da Capo by Love
Aug 10 2026

Enjoyed! Even if the last song is long as shite

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Aug 11 2026

The highest 4 you can possibly give - thank you Alex, thank you album generator. Opposed to my all time fave ‘Doolittle’, the latter half is sooo strong - but the aforementioned has my heart in a vicelock grip xx

Sheet Music by 10cc

………………….

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Aug 13 2026

High 3! Enjoyed but I don’t think it’ll stick. I was overly excited for the last track but that did mean I got to listen to the final Injury Reserve album - which is a blessing in itself soooo

Nick Of Time by Bonnie Raitt
Aug 14 2026

Sadly didn’t get into this one apologies Bonnie that’s on me not you

Joan Armatrading by Joan Armatrading
Aug 16 2026

Yet another wonderful deep cut five star album! How have I never heard of this stylish and fun woman?? So influential I refuse to believe that Jeff Buckley wasn’t inspired by this - much the same with her contemporaries at the time this surely gave way to artists I love now like Spellling and Big Thief like come onnnn Everyone should listen to this I’m serious.

Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis
Aug 18 2026

I don’t know what to tell you if you aren’t the kind of person that doesn’t honestly think that Kind Of Blue isn’t a 5 - because you are inherently wrong, try better next time you silly billy, it’s one of the best albums ever made, so don’t you dare try to kid yourself that it isn’t - one day I’ll grow up and be a big enough boy that I get into his freeeakier stuff but at this moment in time I’m ashamed that a little to weak. Enough about me though! Five Fucking Stars.
