First album! Love Frank Sinatra, this was so much fun to listen to start to finish

This album is so fun and goofy. Yes the lyrics are simple and adolescent, yes they sing about blow jobs and being horny. Who cares? The guitar riffs are a party. Even a feminist lady like me can have a good time listening to this. PS did not know the resurrection history behind the album, which is pretty cool

Sorry to break it to you guys but these songs have disjointed musical parts that are not very interesting.

I had never heard this before. I had so much fun listening to it, the music is all over the place in a good way. The whole time I was thinking about how this guy must have influenced so many bands and artists that I love. One of my fave bands as a teenager, The Libertines, has a lead singer (Pete Doherty) who sings exactly like Ian. It also made me think of Lou Reed’s weirder solo stuff and the Sex Pistols. What a cool fucking punk. Will be coming back to this one for sure.

I am so jealous of anyone who was young in the late 70s, what a golden era for so many genres of music. I didn’t realize Johnny Rotten had gone MAGA. Some sad irony there. Never mind the MAGA, this album still hits as hard as it did the first time I listened to it as a teen in the early 2000s. Absolutely timeless, hugely influential, long live punk rock.

Great album, it has my favorite Bruce song (dancing in the dark) and so many other classics.

It’s a bit cruel to include a 2 hour live album for a band that most people don’t know beyond one song on a list like this. I really enjoyed a few songs on here but it was too long and some parts were uninteresting to a non-fan. I don’t see myself ever listening to this again.

Phenomenal. I had never heard it before and like others have mentioned, discovering albums like this is a big reason I’m doing this project. It took me back to early years of falling in love with albums, listening on repeat with big headphones on, and even more listens with lyrics pulled up to get another level of appreciation for the songs. I’m obsessed, can’t stop listening and this will be a long term fave for sure. The songs are so sonically expansive and gorgeous (like early Radiohead, which is my favorite Radiohead) and the lyrics punch you right in the gut. It’s exactly the type of music that got me obsessed with alternative rock at a young age.

This album was good not great… I’m sure was a 90s dj’s dream but just isn’t doing it for me in 2026

I love learning stuff like this: “The majority of the tracks were composed on the spot in the studio, the lyrics not being written until Bowie stood in front of the microphone.”

This was the first Beck album I ever heard (a year or two after it came out) and I didn’t realize at the time what a departure it was from Beck’s previous work. I haven’t listened to in so long, and forgot how sad and beautiful it is.

I could do without a couple of these tracks, but the good ones are great and make up for the rest. I loved the closing track (fu gee la global remix), which was new to me.

This gets better each time you listen to it. I’d never heard it before, really cool and eclectic album!

One of my absolute favorites from when I was a teen! A perfect record, I’m so happy to listen to it again. It shaped so much of my music taste then and now.
