1001 Albums Summary

First album! Love Frank Sinatra, this was so much fun to listen to start to finish

This album is so fun and goofy. Yes the lyrics are simple and adolescent, yes they sing about blow jobs and being horny. Who cares? The guitar riffs are a party. Even a feminist lady like me can have a good time listening to this. PS did not know the resurrection history behind the album, which is pretty cool

Sorry to break it to you guys but these songs have disjointed musical parts that are not very interesting.

I had never heard this before. I had so much fun listening to it, the music is all over the place in a good way. The whole time I was thinking about how this guy must have influenced so many bands and artists that I love. One of my fave bands as a teenager, The Libertines, has a lead singer (Pete Doherty) who sings exactly like Ian. It also made me think of Lou Reed’s weirder solo stuff and the Sex Pistols. What a cool fucking punk. Will be coming back to this one for sure.
