Popular Reviews

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers

Not a single miss. Rock, funk, energy, segues, chunky rhythm guitar, Flea turned up to 11, and classic raunch liberally sprinkled throughout. Could listen on repeat for at least 3 times straight. PS this is my go-to album for driving crosstown through Manhattan.

Sheet Music by 10cc

10cc has some hits - deservedly. But none are on this album. Wall Street shuffle is dated, but more importantly just plain boring. Or is the whole album a satire? Irregardless, it still should have some musicality...

Nice find! "Interesting funk" My favorites are the least-popular (according to Spotify)

Emperor Tomato Ketchup by Stereolab
Jan 25 2021

I thought this was a different band! Stereogum maybe? Pleasantly surprised - drum machines!

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Feb 12 2021

great pulse, donna summer-esque, but too repetitive

En-Tact by The Shamen
Feb 19 2021
Mar 14 2021

Nostalgia and groove, but serious offenders of nickel-backing

Risque by CHIC
Mar 15 2021

Disco-funk songs are excellent with smooth bass runs - but their slow stuff is uninspired

Jun 04 2021

The hits are good, but the rest are worse than forgettable.

The Colour Of Spring by Talk Talk
Jun 05 2021

Some stellar Talk Talk on here, but too many misses to listen all the way through

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Jun 13 2021

Better than I remember, and definitely a few gems in there, but compared to previous albums it's just hard to feel completely satisfied

London Calling by The Clash
Jun 27 2021

the Hits are hits, and the filler are near-hits. Can listen to Train in Vain all day long...

B-52's by The B-52's
Jul 04 2021

catchy hooks, surprise funk, driving beat, and ridiculous FUN lyrics. Refreshing.

Jul 07 2021

Freedom of course, but a few other surprising tunes on here. I'd listen again, in 4 months maybe.

Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield

Jul 12 2021

Again, how have I not heard of this band (but everyone knows their songs)? Catchy sing-alongs!

The Cars by The Cars
Jul 13 2021

Top three Cars album, but the bar is pretty high. It's probably the one most packed with hits, so maybe just a tad over-played for me? Either way, can't get enough of that guitar tone....

Leftism by Leftfield
Jul 28 2021

Funky and cool beats, but too many tracks take too long to pick up steam

Sheet Music by 10cc
Nov 09 2022

10cc has some hits - deservedly. But none are on this album. Wall Street shuffle is dated, but more importantly just plain boring. Or is the whole album a satire? Irregardless, it still should have some musicality...

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Nov 11 2022

Who doesn't have this on a heavy slab of vinyl with thick cardboard sleeve? A classic, killer grooves, fun percussion sounds to keep interesting with texture...listening on repeat.

L.A. Woman by The Doors
Nov 15 2022

two mega-hits and some decent body. Sure there's filler, but easily overlooked.
