This could be important. As heuristics go, sorting and comparison are two of the common ones, called on to make sense of a world full of new things. Brain goes straight to comparison mode to make sense of this, woman’s voice, rich soundscape, deep feelings, must be Portishead right? Even the blue white artwork from the cover makes me think “Dummy”. Is it a lesser Portishead?, maybe, but if I had grown up listening to it in the 90s it probably would have stuck with me. Glad I found this, glad enough to buy it on vinyl today.
