The Dark Side Of The Moon
Pink FloydA masterpiece. A flawless record and on the (very) short list of greatest albums of all time.
A masterpiece. A flawless record and on the (very) short list of greatest albums of all time.
An absolute classic
Prince’s music is so bad. I can’t understand why he’s considered a legend at all. I don’t get it. I hate it. I absolutely hate his music.
80’s music is literally the worst. I hate it. I hate George Michael, I hate Prince, I hate New Order, I hate Talking Heads, I hate Tears for Fears. For fucks sake! Please dear god give me something from any other decade! I was born in 1980. Thank god I wasn’t aware of popular music until about 1992. I got to hear Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Tool, Stone Temple Pilots, R.E.M. And do you know what? None of them wrote and performed fucking Father Figure!!!! This album is diarrhea for the ears. It’s so bad I am going to file a grievance against Carrie Underwood and the rock and roll hall of fame for including this abortion. I cannot stress to you enough how much I hate this self important, mewling, techno, whiny, grandiose, bullshit drivel. It is the antithesis of good music. Everyone who claims George Michael was some kind of musical genius and an influential artist should stop right now and listen to Monkey. Fuck you.
I still don’t get why everybody says if you like Avenged Sevenfold, you’re gonna love Billie Holiday. I don’t really hear it. I am a huge Tool fan and everybody says Maynard is basically Billie Holiday. “oh, you like Simon and Garfunkel?” they say. Wait till you hear Billie and Holiday!” if I had a nickel for every time, I have heard her compared to Slayer, I’d be a freaking millionaire. Something must be wrong with me, I just don’t hear it.
Have known and loved Aqualung and Locomotive Breath for years. When I heard Cross-Eyed Mary, I realized I also knew that song from the radio. It’s a very solid album but definitely propped up by about 4 songs, with Hymn 43 being the other standout song in my opinion.
Really liked this album. I have heard Song 2 3,443,679 times on the radio, just today. But have never heard any other songs by Blur. If I had heard this album when it came out and I was a teenager, it very well could have been one of my favorites.
Classic album. I’m just over it.
An absolute classic
Way better than I thought it would be. I don't know that I will ever listen to it again but it was a fun album to listen to while I was on a drive. Cool in the Pool and Hollywood Symphony stand out to me. Persian Love, however, is like the sonic equivalent of salty garbage. Without that song, it would be 4 stars.
I hated this album so so much. This kind of pop music never ceases to amaze me with its vapid lyrics and uninteresting music. But the appetite for this kind of sugary ear cancer is even more inexplicable. But… even with that being said…I hated it and I hate that it exists.
One of my favorite albums ever. Immigrant Song might be the greatest rock song under 3 minutes ever written. Although the rest of the album does have a decidedly different feel, songs like Friends, Celebration Day, and Out on the Tiles complement each other perfectly. Since I’ve Been Loving You is simply a masterpiece. I love every song on the album except for That’s the Way. Can we be real here? What’s the deal with so many people saying it’s their favorite LZ song? I contend that if THAT is your favorite song, you don’t really like Led Zeppelin. You just like that song. Please listen to it again. Really listen to it. It’s SUPER boring. Nothing happens. It’s 5 1/2 minutes of the same thing. Plus: “kissing tiny flowers”, ugh. I skip it almost every time. Other than that though, this album is a monster!
Not really my style of music, but I can appreciate the meaning behind it and its importance to reggae as a whole. Not bad but I wouldn't revisit.
This is definitely a classic album but I’ve been beat over the head with these songs for years. If I listen to our local classic rock station for two days, I will hear 8/10 songs on this album. The only 2 they don’t play are Let Me Put My Love Into You and Shake a Leg. They play all the other 8 songs All. The. Time. Great tunes but good Lord are the lyrics juvenile!
No Not ok No
Not bad. Not really my thing. Was pleasantly surprised to recognize a song from Back to the Future so bonus points for that. Still, no.
So people really like this? Like unironlcally? I don’t get why anyone in 2023 would want to listen to this.
I liked this album much more than I expected. It starts off great with the first two songs, but as always happens with rap, it all starts to sound the same to me . Still, I think it is a well done album and worth a listen.
I have never heard all but a handful of these songs. Great album!
I've always had a block on Joy Division. I've never listened to them until today. I had only read about them and every description includes the phrase "post-punk". To me that meant they were just like the Cure, Talking Heads, or The Smiths or something. I REALLY dislike those bands and that kind of music. I couldn't have been more wrong. I would give this album 5 stars just for Day of the Lords. It's the second track and I didn't even bother moving past it until I listened to it 4 times in a row. Awesome song! The entire album is now in my rotation and I'm a new fan.
Imagine being the guys in this band. Do you think they listen to what they created and think “yeah, this is really good.” There’s no way. This is an elaborate prank and they laugh at all the indie rock snobs who pretend to like this. My God this is awful. Fuck. So bad.
I can certainly appreciate her talent. But this kind of music does nothing for me.
Thanks, I hate it
Kinda good
Nope
I am a big R.E.M. fan. Although this isn’t one of my favorite albums, it’s still got some great songs. Monster is the album that got me hooked and this is a very different era and sound. Four stars for being the one that got it all started.
Really really really really a lot of nothing. Boring and nondescript. I will never listen to this again.
No more Portuguese please
Pretty good album for a folk rock record. Wooden ships and Suite: Judy Blue Eyes are definite standouts.
Anytime I hear Thin Lizzy on the radio, I change the station. I have none of their songs on my playlists. They seem like cheesy disposable 70's rock to me. That said, I didn't hate this album. Massacre is a really good song. Still not something I would listen to again.
I bought this CD as a teenager and listened to it heavily for a couple of years. An essential album.
Wait, so was there only one new wave singer in the 80s? And every band just used the same singer? Because EVERY new wave band has a singer, who sounds exactly like this. The music is pretty decent though.
I went through a pretty big Beatles phase as a teenager. I owned almost all of their albums. But I never bought Rubber Soul. I don’t think I had ever actually listened to the entire album. Now that I have, I stand by my decision not to purchase this record. There is just nothing exciting about it.
If I were to make a list of one million and one albums to hear before you die, this album would fall about 450 short of the cut line.
So I just went to a Tool concert last night. You're telling me that today I have to listen to the Cramps? That's like spending the night with Scarlett Johannson then coming home to Lena Dunham. There's just no way to make it work.
Was going to try to listen to every album on this list but after two songs I realized this one would never ever remotely be something I would listen to. Who made this list? This album is utter shit!
Great album
Meh
Have never listened to cohen before. Was very pleasantly surprised. I’ll be listening to this again.
Just not a fan. Slightly better than expected but would never revisit
This album is a known classic. But it’s still The Beach Boys.
One great song. One other ok song. The rest is garbage. 3 stars just for Sympathy for the Devil.
Not too bad except I can’t get behind the banshee wailing. Jenny is a decent song, but throw Michael Stipe’s voice on it and it would fit right in on REM’s Monster.
OK. Not for me
Such an amazing album. Never listened to it before but over half of the songs are all time classics
Love me some Portishead but definitely not as good as the first two albums.
Not super good. Pretty Superbad™️
Uhhhhhh, it’s just computer music.
Prince’s music is so bad. I can’t understand why he’s considered a legend at all. I don’t get it. I hate it. I absolutely hate his music.
Sounds like the skating rink when I was 10. Kind of nostalgic.
As someone who grew up in the grunge/post-grunge era, I’ve been conditioned to not like this kind of music. So I don’t

Pretty good. I liked it.
Pretty good. Will I ever listen again? Nope.
So so bad
No thanks
Very cool album
Nuh uh
Lots of classic rock staples. Really good album, just not a huge fan of Elton John
Great debut album. Some incredible guitar work here. Sultans of Swing is a definite standout.
Such a great album! I had three of their cd’s when I was a kid. One of them being their greatest hits. I have never heard this album before. I think I never bought it because five of these songs are on the greatest hits. Strangely enough, Moving in Stereo is not one of them, but it might be my favorite Cars song. I forgot how enjoyable this band is to listen to.
I love 90’s music but this is pretty middle of the road.

I didn’t enjoy this. But only because it’s shit.
Didn’t expect to like this album. But the more I sat with it, the more I liked it. I generally hate 80s music: Prince, New Order, Talking Heads, the Cure, Blondie… you name it, all shit. I hate 80s music but this is a pretty damn fine album.
I don’t know, it’s fine and everything, I mean it’s Radiohead so of course it’s good. But honestly, it’s not even one of my top five Radiohead albums. It’s four stars, just because it’s better than 85% of the albums on this list. But it’s not top-tier.
Imagine liking this. Ha ha JK nobody likes this. So dumb and so bad. I do not like this record. This album is actually gross. It’s not even mildly interesting. Best song: none of them Worst song: all of them
Rufus Wainwright? More like Rufus Wain…not…wright. I don’t know, I don’t write comedy. One star 👎
Another album that I could see myself absolutely loving when I was younger. But for now, it just doesn’t grab me. Good album though.
Don’t like Clapton
A few really good songs. A couple really 80s songs.
That’s enough for me. In fact, that’s all for everyone. Not a single redeeming quality in my opinion.
I really like this album. I could definitely see playing this in the background regularly.
I hate live albums
Nah
Pretty decent, but I can’t really say I’ll ever listen to it again.
A masterpiece. A flawless record and on the (very) short list of greatest albums of all time.
I would never choose to listen to this.
I don’t get it
Of all the live albums I’ve heard, this is certainly one of them!
Frontier Psychiatrist is fantastic. The rest is ok.
Pretty good. Nothing earth shattering
I learned a while back that just because someone is considered a legend and highly influential, doesn’t mean I have to like them. So here goes. I don’t like James Brown.
Elvis may have been cool then, but who cares now? Seriously. What impact does Elvis have 60 years later? Not much. Like seriously, Elvis has some iconic hits. But there are exactly zero on this album, so what’s the point? Why the hell is this album on this list? It’s utterly unimportant.
Fully expected to hate this album. And then I didn’t.
I should’ve hated this album. But somehow I didn’t. It’s making me question everything I thought I knew about myself. I might even listen to it again. Dear God what has happened to me?
So good
I’m giving this album 5 stars because I accidentally only gave Cohen’s You Want It Darker 4 stars. This album is not as good, but definitely 4 stars.
Great album
What a joke. As if this album belongs on any list. It shouldn’t even be listed in their own discography. It’s just nothing.
The whole album feels like a Steve Miller Band intro.
Grew up listening to The Beach Boys. They sound so utterly the same I can’t even remember which ones I knew as a kid.
Really cool. I liked it a lot
Pretty damn good
A few really good songs and fantastic drumming throughout. I get why people love this but it’s not really my thing
Pretty good for Christmas music
This was so good!
Better than a lot of rap but that’s not saying much
Monster album. One of my all-time favorites
Nope. Hate it
This is one of the worst things I have ever heard. This album sounded outdated the day it came out. Obviously they put a few joke albums on this list because this is utter shit. 0/5
It’s no Joshua tree, but still a great album
I’ve Never been a big fan of Fleetwood Mac, but it’s hard not to recognize the brilliance of this album. Nine of the 11 songs are played frequently on classic rock radio with only Songbird and oh daddy, not receiving airplay on my local stations. Apparently cocaine and relationship drama really got the creative juices flowing.
Pretty good album. I will never listen to it again
Neil young’s music is great. Just wish he wasn’t such a bitch of a liberal whiner. Shut up and sing asshole.
Pretty good album
I don’t understand the appeal at all. It’s so boring and so bad. His voice is like Billy Joel’s to me. So bland and unpleasant so they just pronounce words weirdly and make a really unpleasant back of the throat drawn out vowel sound. It’s miserable to try to listen to. Hated it
Bruce Springsteen is right up there with the most overrated American artists of all time. I would never choose to listen to his music and do anything I can to avoid it.
Nope. Can’t do it.
I fail to see what makes this stand out over anything else. It could’ve been somebody just banging out the same note on a piano the entire album and I would not have noticed the difference.
And the creator of this list sure had a hard on for Bowie. It’s like all of his music. Just OK.
Serious question. Do people listen to this on purpose?
