Popular Reviews

The New Tango by Astor Piazzolla

I was going to give this a 1 because it's really not my thing at all (though appreciated the talent this most likely took to produce and perform) but I enjoyed nuevo tango so knocked it up a score.

Oct 23 2023

Quite a mixed album, a couple classics with some ok songs and some not so great. Some of it sounds quite dated in a strange way but I would still say it was on the better side of average.

Oct 24 2023

A good live album but not one I would place high in my top 1000 albums. Best song - Plateau

Who's Next by The Who
Oct 25 2023

What an amazing album, opening with what many consider the greatest who song isn't a bad way to get things going. Definitely one of the greats and solid throughout. Best song - Won't get fooled again

The Bends by Radiohead
Oct 26 2023

Radiohead's first 3 albums are all incredible and music I listen to regularly. Best song - Just (though fake plastic trees is a very close second)

Blue Lines by Massive Attack
Oct 27 2023

Somewhat a decent album, never listened to massive attack before and I don't think I'll add them to my repertoire but I didn't actively dislike it. Best song - Blue lines (is the start of this what Wiz and snoop sampled?)

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
Oct 30 2023

Such a cool album, fun to listen to with some certified classics! I wouldn't say its a perfect album but it is an easy 4/5 stars. Best song - Keep gettin it on

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Oct 31 2023

Not quite my thing but a couple of tracks were enjoyable and I can appreciate the talent. Best song - Samba Dees Days

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Nov 01 2023

An alright album, never really listened to much of the YYYs but some songs are worth a relisten. Best song - off with your head

Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Nov 02 2023

Enjoyed it Best song - not too sure but maybe "Accidents will happen"

Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Nov 03 2023

Bit of a mixed bag, some songs on here I really enjoyed having never heard of the band before. There are some songs that I really struggled though as well though. Best song - Supernaturally

xx by The xx
Nov 06 2023

This is more 2.6 than a 2, I enjoyed some songs. Best song - crystallised

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
Nov 07 2023

What an incredible talent, some songs don't quite hit with me but it's so easy to appreciate a genius as good as Hendrix. Not listened to much prior to this other than the big hits but there are definitely songs I'll add to my liked songs. Best song - Castles made of sand

Nov 08 2023

Just couldn't get into it, I'm sure there is something there, maybe the beat, but was a struggle to get through Best song(?) - airwave hysteria

Clandestino by Manu Chao
Nov 09 2023

First listen I wasnt too sure and listening another time I'm still not quite sure. Do think it's quite special to get an album where you've got 3 or 4 languages, and bongo bong is a banger.

War by U2
Nov 10 2023

It was fine, I think this shows that I don't really care for U2 outside of their big hits. Best song - Sunday bloody Sunday

Queen II by Queen
Nov 13 2023

Queen are such an incredible band, hadn't heard any of the songs prior to this but what a top album. Best song - father to son

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
Nov 14 2023

Whilst I respect his general talent and appreciate how special Stevie Wonder is, I thought this was pretty awful. Best song - golden lady

Soul Mining by The The
Nov 15 2023

Forgettable Best song - This is the day

Inspiration Information by Shuggie Otis
Jan 09 2024

I'm sure for the right crowd this is great but just didn't hit it off for me. Wouldn't even say I have a best song, it's all just very mediocre (not terrible though).

Kid A by Radiohead
Jan 10 2024

Wouldn't say it's their best album but is still fantastic. Whilst it is different to previous albums I feel like you know what to expect with Radiohead and this just proves that this is not a bad thing. Best Song - Idioteque

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Jan 12 2024

It's fine and think there are some good songs but not really my jam. Best song - Superfly

Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
Jan 15 2024

Fantastic start to an album, solid throughout though Im not a huge zeppelin fan this does make me want to listen to more. Best song - Immigrant song

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Jan 16 2024

Really solid album and a few songs that have been saved. Best song - pink moon

Kenza by Khaled
Jan 17 2024

This is not enjoyable at all, I appreciate different cultures have different tastes and do like that this list includes that but really not for me.

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Jan 18 2024

Listened to this quite a few times and I really enjoyed it. In the least disrespectful way possible this is fantastic background music and really enjoyed having this on whilst I worked. Due to that I couldn't tell you the names of any songs but this album is being saved for sure.

Jan 19 2024

Liked this more than I thought, don't think my music taste has opened further but not something I would turn off now. Best song - you ain't going nowhere

Jan 22 2024

Not that great of a Beatles fan and this album, whilst I appreciate it, is not one that hits home for me, especially through the middle section where it gets a bit out there. Best song - Lovely Rita

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jul 02 2024

Really enjoyable, who knew they had more than 3 songs and they're actually really good. Best song - Concrete Jungle

Violator by Depeche Mode
Jul 03 2024

Didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did. Best song - Personal Jesus

Dummy by Portishead
Jul 08 2024
Guero by Beck
Jul 15 2025
Drunk by Thundercat
Aug 01 2025

Kendrick and Wiz features are the only saving grace, would've been a 1 star.

Truth by Jeff Beck
Aug 08 2025
Alien Lanes by Guided By Voices
Aug 22 2025

I'm not sure why but I really enjoyed this.

Fire Of Love by The Gun Club
Aug 27 2025

A bit peculiar but not necessarily bad.

Closer by Joy Division
Aug 29 2025
Felt Mountain by Goldfrapp
Oct 15 2025

Not that bad in a strange way.

Oct 16 2025

Appreciate some songs and the importance of the album but really have to be in the right mood for this.

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
Oct 20 2025

Have mixed feelings but I think I really enjoy it.

Elephant by The White Stripes
Oct 28 2025
Gris Gris by Dr. John
Oct 31 2025

Interesting and out there

Nick Of Time by Bonnie Raitt
Jan 09 2026

Is it fun? Yes. Should it be on this list? Absolutely not

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Jan 12 2026

Close to a 5, fantastic.

Rattlesnakes by Lloyd Cole And The Commotions
Jan 14 2026

It's fine, not my cup of tea but enjoyed some songs.

Scott 4 by Scott Walker
Feb 13 2026
Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Feb 16 2026

Didn't find it particularly inspiring and wars of Armageddon might be one of the worst songs I've heard, akin to one of my year 7 music lessons.

The New Tango by Astor Piazzolla
Feb 18 2026

I was going to give this a 1 because it's really not my thing at all (though appreciated the talent this most likely took to produce and perform) but I enjoyed nuevo tango so knocked it up a score.

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
Mar 09 2026

Despite the objections from my wife, I think this is an incredible album.

Miriam Makeba by Miriam Makeba
Apr 03 2026

An album I never would have heard of without this and I'm glad I did because I absolutely love it.

Music by Madonna
Apr 29 2026

This is generous, saved by 1 or 2 songs.

Mask by Bauhaus
Apr 30 2026
Rubber Soul by Beatles
Jun 23 2026

Probably a very high 3 for me, album felt a bit everywhere but it was also very good, I can see why its so highly regarded.
