Can someone help me with a tech issue. This app seems to have corrupted and now offers up albums that's only use is as a psychological weapon at Guantanamo bay. Do I need a patch or something to stop this as my wife says the sledgehammer is possibly an over reaction.
I thought this is ok, then I thought no its terrible, then I had a biscuit, then I fell asleep, then i woke and had another biscuit, then i thought what would happen if you gave a monkey a flamethrower, then the album finished and i was happy again.
One word review Crap
Started off ok, whitestripes influence but god did it become a slog after the first few songs. Found myself praying they would kick the tempo up a little as one song merged into another and I slowly slipped into a coma.
Good start, weak middle strong end but wow does it sound like a album of Beatles b sides
I will quote izzy who listened to this album with me in the car today " he sounds like brian ferry if Bryan ferry couldn't sing. How long is this album? Please crash the car." Road to nowhere aside talking heads passed me by in my youth and nothing here caused me to lament that.
Great album from a band that should have been bigger. One of the four great live rock albums of the time that helped shape the musical landscape for decades.
No, just no.
Didnt hate it but didnt love it either. Faith no more influences with some anthrax and megadeth thrown in. Quite generic thrash with slick production.
Quite liked this which surprised me, will definitely listen to this again and a bit more Radiohead in the future.
I wrote a long piece concerning the misogyny, promotion of violence and glorifying of the " thug life" but ultimately deleted it and thought I'd just go with bollocks. bollocks,
Ok I'm old, that doesn't mean I'm a Beatles fan, thats your grandparents. my music was 80's. That being said this album is stunning. Totally blown away. Never listened to this as a complete body of work, if my dad was still with us I think I'd owe him an apology, perhaps the Beatles were all you said they were.
Bought this when it was released and loved it from day one.amazing album, amazing artist.
Sorry not for me, I know a few people who adore 10cc but that's sub par middle of the road AOR to my ears.
Hated it. Hated it then, hate it now.easily the worse album so far and we've had kraftwerk !!!
Wish I liked this but though hugely influential its sadly awful. The dolls were never my thing, those that followed did it so much better.
Standard slice of 70s disco elevated by one of the truly great bass players. Happy man has however worked it's way into my playlist.
Sorry couldn't get further than track 2.
Love it, nothing more to say. Part of the soundtrack of my youth. All praise the faith no more spiritual and theological centre.
Sorry not a fan, not bad as such just a little sanitized for punk
Wow, how did this make it on too any list other than " albums that's were ignored on release for good reason"
Always felt like I should like this but I find it dont. Shame
Was not expecting this from the underground but quite enjoyed it.
Hell yes, this album is still on my playlist. Good memories of my then young son as many times I thought " that boy needs therapy "
Nothing here to like or dislike, had it on but didnt really listen as nothing grabbed my attention
Very good album no real filler and several stand out tracks. Only the good die young has always been a favourite of mine.
Interesting in small doses but a full album is too much for me
So bob Dylan and the doors formed a Vegas style lounge band playing sub par mamas and papas with vocals by a member of the third Reich. Truly awful.
Like this, fun album to have on in the background
Another album that's famous for the acts it inspired rather than as a stand alone product
Yeah it's ok, kind of forgot about it as soon as it finished.
Couple of goodish tracks but was surprised at how nothing this album was.
Never liked blondie, just run of the mill pop.
Here is a list of things I hate. 1. Country music. End of list. I fucking hate this Confederate flag waving, gun loving, I'm a cowboy, sister marrying, trump worshiping sonic diohrea. Your not good old boys, it's not the land of the free and god has forsaken you and your idolatry. Hickory wind is a good track but it's not on this album so bollocks to it.this isnt a bridge between country and rock it's a bridge between country and satan's arse.
If you like this seek out Ellis beggs and Howard, homeland. Quite liked this but there's better.
Not great but not bad.
Some very strange album choices on this list. This wasnt great, really sounds like a band that had run out of ideas.
Confusion and remember me are good, rest of the album is surprisingly weak. Thought this would be better than it was for some reason.
Quite liked this, still prefer Cope's solo material but this wasn't bad at all.
Sorry not for me
God I need a tequila. Good album will definitely play this next time I'm repelling a half arsed yanky invasion in the bay of pigs. Viva la revaluation.
Wow it's not often an album I thought I'd dislike really surprises me. This isnt one of those albums. What complete crap,
Like kicking an orchestra down the stairs of a mental hospital, I spent 40 mins laughing which may not have been the reaction they were hoping for. I imagine each musician was handed different 2 hour scores and told first one to finish wins. I honestly cant decide if this is genius or the sound track to a schizophrenic episode.
Unpopular opinion number 1. I much prefer purple with coverdale and Hughes, gillan always left me cold. Number 2. Smoke on the water isn't that great, riff aside its pretty average. Number 3. There is an awful lot of filler on this album. Number 4. Rainbow and whitesnake maybe purples bastard children but god they are so much better.
His voice makes me want to punch kittens.
Bit hippy, folksy hassled by the man for my taste though I like "I'll feel a whole lot better"
I really liked this album, imagine what they would have sounded like with modern production.
Did nothing for me, Oliver's army is good but that's it.
Can someone help me with a tech issue. This app seems to have corrupted and now offers up albums that's only use is as a psychological weapon at Guantanamo bay. Do I need a patch or something to stop this as my wife says the sledgehammer is possibly an over reaction.
Oh great I thought finally something decent to listen to. 2 mins in remembered I never liked adam and the ants beyond a couple of singles for a reason, they were light weight pop crap masquerading as something edgy. Yeah this was considered edgy in 1980, men wearing make up!!!! What will the neighbours think. God no wonder my generation are shit.
Dear god these albums are just getting worse. Writing anything more regarding this would just waste even more of my life.
Zero musicianship, zero song writing ability, just a bunch of idiot kids making a bloody racket. What a great album.
Seen them a couple of times live which is much better than their albums. It's ok, nothing to get excited about but giving it a 3 simply because of the utter dross that's been inflicted on us lately.
Sorry can't stand the Smith's as I didnt spend my youth being melancholy in student digs with floppy hair and a crippling sense of injustice. Morrisey a twat as as well which doesn't help.
Its not bad in the way being kicked in the balls isn't bad compared to being stabbed in the throat.
Actually quite like this, will definitely give it a second listen at some point but first impressions are surprisingly positive.
Not as good as leftfield but ok.
Ok green onions is a classic but a whole album of hammond organ greatest hits is a bit much. Like a scene from Phoenix nights I picture a welder by day wearing a gold velvet jacket playing a bontempi keyboard in between rounds of bingo.
Enjoyed this,
I thought this is ok, then I thought no its terrible, then I had a biscuit, then I fell asleep, then i woke and had another biscuit, then i thought what would happen if you gave a monkey a flamethrower, then the album finished and i was happy again.
Good voice but the album just goes nowhere, if you like one track you'll like them all as there is a total lack of variation. It's a 3 star for her voice but 1 for the material.
One of the better 90's bands and a good solid album, not something I would actively seek out but a welcome change from the crap that's regularly being served up.
Preferred him in mystery men. I'm sure people in dark clubs smoking French cigarettes would love this but not for me I'm afraid. Wonder what Joy's await us next?
Oh this is just taking the piss now, how the smeg does this make it on to any list. The world does not need heavy metal freeform jazz."a challenging listen" ??? what a pretentious git this author is.
Just for layla alone this gets a 4, luckily I like the other tracks as well. Got to love pre racist fuckwit Clapton.
If clinical depression had a voice, lyrics may well be poetry but christ the man was a miserable sod.
Never got the appeal of Bowie, yeah theres some excellent tracks in his career but nothing after Ziggy grabbed my interest and even then I always thought he was inferior to bolan. Guess this is ok but is it deserving of a place on this list? Not in my opinion
Yeah good, enjoyed this. When rap was about anger and dissatisfaction instead of Bentley's money and misogyny. Early 90s rap really was the spirit of punk reborn in the American inner cities.
One word review Crap
Not as bad as I thought it could be, not as good as it could have been.
And slowly I lose the will to live
Always liked this album but in truth it does sound a little dated now.
Oh fuck right off to fuckery and when you get there fuck off some more. Ok there are some good even excellent tracks but bono!!!! Fucking bono, no sorry 1 star for no other reason it would make that smug, hypocritical git unhappy, if he cared, which he doesn't because all he cares about is his own ego and hats. What a bellend.
Listened to about a minute of the first track then put abbey road on instead.
Ok so I never want to hear that again. Never heard of the artist or album and I was happier for it.
A true classic Great album. Granted nothing here comes close to chocolate salty balls but little does.
Love gabriel, like gabriel genesis, really like this album. Ok it's a bit overblown and wanky but compared too the utter arse they produced with Collins its genius.
I'm in a state of shock, early Clapton, legendary band!! Yet totally uninspired white man blues. Was excited when this album popped up but god its weak. Truly disappointing.
No.
Surprisingly ok. Not great, not awful just ok.
I like individual songs more than the album as a whole. Stevie Nick's voice does nothing for me I'm afraid and the band as a whole always felt a bit lite. Still 10 million + sold when people actually had to make a physical effort too get their hands on a copy is rather impressive.
Yeah this is why I dont like anything released after 1988
Good album, surprised at how many tracks I knew
Forgotten it already,
This is really starting to become a slog now.
Would seriously love to talk to the author of this list and find out what the reasoning behind a lot of his choices were.
Must be a generation thing. I can see why people love this album just does nothing for me.
Yawn
Dean Martin all the way for me. This is the stuff I grew up listening too with my grandfather. It's ok but dean was better.
Love it, love Roxy nuff said.
A whole lot of nothing
Never heard of the band or the album yet I come away disappointed. Theres a good album here hidden amongst a forest of disjointed guitar and captain beefheart meets Mariah Carey and mika. At no point does the guitarist simply play what the song requires preferring instead to use it as a canvas to Jackson Pollack over.
I may be wrong but I think he might have been a jesus fan. Classic album but I need to be in a specific mood for it. This album demands rainy days and much looking out of the window whilst self reflecting. Sadly its sunny today so I'm gonna put on some twisted sister instead
Frank Zappa once asked "does humour belong in music", of course it does. Fun album only lacking my lovely horse, but I can forgive them this as they give us something for the weekend.
On release the public didnt like it, the critics didn't like it and it sold sod all so let's put it on the list??? The authors desperate need to convince us he's a musical intellectual is starting to get a bit stupid now.
God I'm officially old I liked this.
Oh god, if your unfamiliar with the music of this time you might think this has a few worthy elements to it. However if you know this time in space you know the cramps were the the crusty part of an infected scrotal pustule
Sorry I just dont like Springsteen.
Fantastic, what a great debut.
I like every days like sunday but that's it. Talented ..yes, talented enough to excuse his questionable personality and beliefs? No.
Blah blah " cultural appropriation " blah blah " sanitized world music for whites" . Quite frankly piss off. Yes its watered down world music but it was how we discovered world music, no million songs at the press of a button. This album was a gateway to different sounds and cultures whilst maintaining an accessibility for western ears. Some will disagree and point out that they were experts on world music before this album but they wear tweed and think broccoli is a main course so who cares.
That was a strange listen but ok
Yeah no
I mean it's good , a solid 4 star but just short of greatness
Wow what a voice.
Trying to think of something to say about this album but aside from cock I'm struggling
Awful and Brilliant in equal measures
Dean martin baby!!!!!
They should have got mr fat boy too do something with the whole album because it's not good.
Jazz isn't dead, it just smells funny
Just my luck, the one day I miss is Metallica and instead I get this dress. God I hate this band.
Always thought this was a little too radio friendly, too polished losing the charm they originally had. It's ok but they were better
Hell yes , nothing needs to be said about this album. It's just brilliant.
I actually bought this when it came out. Cant for the life of me figure out why I did, possibly some form of psychological trauma manifesting as audio self injurious behaviour.
Album of mainly covers played by a man so toxic he makes ted Nugent look balanced and fair minded.
Saw them live at reading where they were bottled for the majority of the set. If you know what the bottles contained then you know the analogy I'm going for
Amazing if your tripping your tits off in a club in 1975. As I'm not doing any of that I found it repetitive. Tight band and good vocals it's just...you know...disco, and disco sucks .
Really really not my thing
Oh great more jazz.
Bloody hell that's awful, I'm almost at a lost for words, abysmal.
Sounds a bit like radiohead to me, only not as good.
And then he was alone, last man standing just a fool talking to himself. That being said I like this album
Sorry this is bloody awful, Lou Reed meets the sex pistols with none of the charm, originality or edge either of those two displayed.
I surprised myself by quite likeing the whitestripes and am again quite surprised by not likeing this . Obviously meg was the true genius
What an album,
It's ok I guess. To be honest I had it on but it never forced its self to be anything other than background noise
So this is the legendary pixies... next.
And that's a no from me
While not my fav group or album by them no doubt this is a great piece of work. To miss quote the cat, I'd listen to 2112 but I'd be thinking of hemispheres.
The only gig I ever walked out on. Whst a load of arse
I have never seen the appeal of neal young. Bland paint by numbers music, and Lynyrd Skynyrd didnt need him around so I cant for the life of me think why I would.
Shit.
These albums are robbing me of the will to live.
No, just no.
Wow that was a miserable listen.
Great
Miserable git
Five star simply because its had the good grace to be impossible to find so saving me time.
