Disintegration
The CureHoly synths. Lots of wind chimes. Cool space-y vibes. Love all the long instrumental intros that build and add layers as it progresses.

Love the "new" Cash. Haunting vocals, stripped down instrumentation, balanced modern sounding mixing, great covers.
Know it well. Love it. Sounds like high school. Kanye (the musician) really is brilliant. First I ever remember hearing pitch shifting in rap music, which became mainstream and far overdone ~5 years later. Great cadence on his flow. Awesome sampling that stiches together flawlessly. Sometimes whimsical, sometimes serious lyrics. Cool to see a concept style album where the songs fit together. Similar to country music, most rap is solely focused on lyrics, so it's always a breath of fresh air to hear an album with a lot of thought put into the sampling, beats, and arrangements.
Had no idea Janis Joplin was in a band. Love all the raw screaming blues guitars. Cool 60's blue rock sound.
Huge influence on rock n roll music. Songs individually are great and certainly stand on their own. But an entire album of them is a little too repetitive. It is impressive that you can do an entire show on basically the same chord progression. I do like the "swing meets the blues" that is rockabilly music. Like the constant triplet feel of every song. And love when they throw the hammering piano riffs over top of it with the straight "2s" giving it that cool 3/2 groove on fills.
Lots of cool acoustic guitar grooves. Really enjoyed the feel of this album. Band was locked in, great instrumentation. Like the strings throughout. Would have never guessed this is from 1976, sounds more modern and has an alt-pop-rock vibe. Like the blend of pop/funk/blues. Loved the baritone backing vocals and the sax on "Love and Affection". Enjoyed the various layers playing off each other on "Like Fire".
Don't know them, but they sound like Tribe Called Quest meets Jock Jams. Cool bass lines and musical arrangement. But gets a little bit repetitive.
Not quite the same listening to "Love In an Elevator" NOT being on a roller coaster. Pretty good album with some well know songs. Has a raw, rough around the edges feel. And of course, ends with a power ballad.
Never heard of them, and thought my internet connection was messed up with the guitar delay on the first song. "Identity" sounds like "25 or 6 to 4" goes punk. I like the different instruments throughout (horns, sax, and was that a clarinet!?). And its cool that they used different tunings for the snare drums on the various songs. Fun album to listen to.
Glad to finally have listened to this album. Love all the band pieces and the wide range of styles it covers.
Love System of a Down, but never listened to this album all the way through. Like their other stuff, its quirky, heavy, sporadic. I like the combo of spoken/chanted/sang/screamed vocals. The crazy swings and changes of pace make it a fun album to listen to. Glad to have listened. It's now 530am and I'm ready to go lift.
Can't tell if it's the time period, or the Genesis influence, but certainly sounds familiar. Lots of reverb on all vocals. Lots of synths. I like the varied change of styles. Knew Solosbury Hill and didn't realize it. "Excuse Me" reminds me a lot of "Mr. Kite". A blues song thrown in there, with a chorus overtop gave some Pink Floyd vibes. Hear some Wings in there too. Enjoyable to listen to.
Solid album. Like the heavy blues rock sound.
Heard this album so many times, and it never gets old, there are so many great, classic songs. Nothing crazily complicated going on musically, but they are catchy, and Chris Cornell has one of the best rock voices. Forever bummed that I bailed on seeing them on May 5th, 2017.
Pretty good album, like the vibe of the music. Pleasant surprise to hear Thom Yorke.
Was good at the start, but sounds a little too old, and was a little too long.
Catchy album. Didn't know them outside of California Dreaming, but there's great harmonies across the board. And cool changes of style from the 60's pop vibe, to a swing.
Can't understand a thing they are saying, but it doesn't matter. This album slaps. Right from the get-go a grooving beat with running guitars overtop, had me dancing in my seat. I loved the crazy time signatures in "Al Hassidi Terei". 6/4 (or probably actually a 4/4 and a 2/4 repeated), and then into a 6/8. And then back again. Really cool. With all the layers of crazy polyrhythms across the different instruments, they sound like an African-blues version of Tool. Would be fun to play drums for this band.
Can't not give this album a 5. Classic songs, and music is a power house. Great guitar sounds, and great drumming, especially on Hot for Teacher.
The tones Jack White gets out of his guitar are amazing. It's impressive they get so much sound out of only 2 people, especially since the drum parts are so basic. "Ball in Biscuit" will always be my favorite track from this album, but there's so many other great ones.
Rap with the British accent doesn't quite hit as hard. Almost sounds a little comical. Can't tell if its my crappy work headphones, but the mixing of the album seems out of whack, music is too loud and is distracting. Also not crazy about the heavy electronic sounding backing music.
Is "Know Your Product" and "Orstralia" the origins of modern ska? Sounds like a band you'd hear playing Tony Hawk. Like the bass and electric playing off each other on A Minor Aversion. Not exactly my style, but an enjoyable listen.
Love this album, sounds like Middle School dances. I'm pretty sure Ms Jackson and So Fresh, So Clean were two of the first songs I downloaded on Napster. So many different styles and sounds here. Andres' cadence is flawless. And in reading about the album, learned he plays keys and guitar on various tracks. Never knew that, always assumed music was sampled. It's cool to know they are composing and performing in addition to the rapping. Side note on Spotify play counts: some of the interludes have as low as 1500 plays. I've listened to this album start to finish at least 10 times. Does that really mean that I make up ~1% of the people who've listened straight through?
Don't know them outside Bitter Sweet. Very 90's British sounding, but enjoyable. Relaxing guitar sounds, and some good grooves.
Another Britpop album! Singers voice started to get a little old, but I liked the music a lot. Album is probably a 3.5 for me.
Never heard of him, but really liked this album. Had hints of the Byrds and the Eagles, and I liked the country-rock style. Good singing, good harmonies, good music.
So many different instruments. Fun album to listen to, glad to learn more of their catalog beyond the hits.
Don't know it as well or like it as much as MADD City. But still a great album. Lot's of random musical tangents that keep it interesting. Don't really know the lyrics well enough for it to be a 5/5 for me, but that could change with more listens.
Didn't really recognize any of these song titles, but knew nearly every song. Knew "Don't Stop" and didn't even realize it was Fleetwood Mac. Great all around album, varying styles, multiple singers.
Great singing, great harmonies. Songs are a little bit repetitive. Album is probably a 3/5 for me. But +.25 for a singing drummer, +.25 for a Beatles cover, and +.5 because one of my oldest memories is @dwander singing "Close to You" to me as a young kid.
I have a hard time rating any album a 1. But this just isn't me. Don't understand the words. Sounds like "Stomp" without any polyrhythms.
Great soft rock album, very calming to listen to. Everything feels so polished.
I like learning who the artists are for songs I know (Shout, Everyone Wants to Rule The World, and Head Over Heels). Can't really tell if it's just this artist, but I think I might like New Wave.
Liked this album much more than I was expecting. Singer sounds a little bit like Jack White. There are a lot of very catchy songs here, and just the right amount of electronic, techno-y sounds, not too overboard with it.
Long album, some absolute classics on here, but never actually listened to the whole thing. 1979, Zero, Bullet, Tonight hold the album up, but there's a little bit too much filler to be a 5.
Not a top 5 Beatles album, but it's still the Beatles. I was surprised there's a few songs on here I don't know. There's nothing too special here, but they are always locked in from a performance standpoint. Great harmonies, simple and effective playing. Great precursor for things to come.
Good album, I like the style. Lyrics always remind me of the "Walk Hard" parody.
Great relaxing jazz. Good music to work to.
Great music across the board. Some sounds like Hendrix, some sounds like the Beatles. Music style changes. Vocal style changes.
Good but kind of repetitive
Some good bass lines. Great singing, and catchy songs. Not exactly my favorite genre, but too many good songs on here. Listening makes me wish I knew how to dance.
Love the crunchy guitar tone. Some classic songs on here. But they all start to blend together after a while. Not crazy about the synch feel in southern rock, takes away from the raw gritty feel.
I like the music. Not crazy about the singing. Maybe a little bit too much on the horns after a while.
I love RATM, but it makes me sad that they influenced stuff like this. Xzibit was the highlight of the album. Listened to the whole album, and still not quite sure if Fred Durst "gives a fuck". 2 stars because I actually like the music. If they got better lyrics, and got rid of Fred Durst, it might actually be decent.
Better than I was expecting, though a little long. A nice mix of pop/rock/ballad/rap. She's got a great voice and the backing music was varied and enjoyable.
Love it. Nice mix of uptempo/ballads. Lars is underutilized, but drumming fits the styles of the various songs. This album was the first Metallica I ever heard, so I'm immune to the "change of direction" or "sellout" criticism of it. Still holds up.
Great music. Great storytelling.
Great warm voice. Love the classic country.
Funky.
Amazing voice. In a vacuum these songs are all 5s. But as a collection, maybe not quite enough variety.
Very meh
6/5. Can't think of a better singer/guitarist combo.
Music is pretty good. Overall a little to avant garde for me.
Nah.
Different, I definitely liked the large mesh of styles. British new wave, and fiddles, and horns, and Celtic. Pretty cool.
Sounded like the same song on repeat
Very pleasant music to work to.
Singing is great.
Really enjoyed listening to a bunch of Queen songs I didn't know.
Not bad, not great.
Like the music, not so much the singing.
Hits for days.
Not quite the Beatles, but still pretty close.
Not bad, but nothing really sticks out.
Good, a little too repetitive sounding.
Not as good as Rumors, but still really good.
Some cool grooves.
Much more entertaining than I expected when I first saw the genre. Like the varied sounds on the album. All very relaxing.
Such a soothing voice.
The best
Good music, little too repetitive sounding.
Soothing
Pleasantly surprise. Solid vocals, and like the instrumentation.
Lots of energy and lots of good songs.
Enjoyable to listen to. Upbeat.
relaxing
Good, but nothing special.
Duane Allman can really make the guitar sing. Great collection of talented musicians.
Little bit repetitive, but I enjoyed the grooves.
Cool grooves. Cool sounds. Like the change of styles.
Album is better than I remember
Heard it a thousand times, but always happy to listen again. Their versatility is on full display here. Rockers, ballads, epics. It's all there.
So many hits. So good. Love the samples. Love the simplicity.
Kinda like "The Wall" without the good parts.
