...The Dandy Warhols Come Down
The Dandy WarholsSurprised how much I enjoyed this. I only already knew the one "hit"
Surprised how much I enjoyed this. I only already knew the one "hit"
Sounds dated now but still classic
90s Big Beat fun
Not my cup of tea at all. Mostly ballads and slow numbers that were pretty boring and forgettable
Interesting idea as a concept album but quite a dreary and depressing listen. Won't be listening again
Cover album, definitely not country. Inoffensive and forgettable
1 massive hit and lots of filler
Decent
2 track album. Track 1 was OK, track 2 was great
Not for me
Won't be listening again
Classic
Easy 5 starts from me
Enjoyed this
I knew Bucky Done Gun and the album is really just more of the same. Became irritating after a while
Hit & miss
Not for me
60s psychedelic, similar to the doors. Bit hit & miss
Only listened to disc 1
Classic
Depressing
An album I've been meaning to listen to for years and it didn't disappoint
Decent enough. Knew a couple already
Solid
Great album that somehow passed me by. I only knew 1 of the tracks from before. Will be listening again
60s psychedelic
Great stuff
Surprised how much I enjoyed this. I only already knew the one "hit"
Not bad but the singer's voice is a bit irritating
Couldn't finish it
Enjoyed, but the version on Spotify was a bit different
New one for me. Funky triphop stuff
Started strong but a bit hit & miss overall
Too long and too much garage
Solid but all very similar sounding
Standard psychedelic 60s stuff
Didn't do much for me.
Against expectations I enjoyed this a lot
Won't be listening again
Enjoyed this, will listen again
Easy 5 stars. Passin Me By and 4 Better Or 4 Worse are 2 of my all-time favourites
Classic
Listened to this a 2nd time and still undecided. Some good songs and some strange stuff. Overall too long
Not my cuppa tea, at all
had it on in the background while working but will listen again
Classic
90s grunge/indie stuff. Couldn't get into it at all
Didn’t enjoy this, cringey lyrics
Class, easy 5 stars
Indian musak, like background music for an indian restaurant
Enjoyed this. Had never listened to ZZ Top before, apart from the hits that get played on the radio. Solid album
Decent 90s indie stuff
I know it's critically acclaimed, one of the best albums of all time etc.. but it did nothing for me
An album mostly of covers. The title track is great, some of the covers fall flat, but overall an enjoyable listen
The only Bowie album I own and have listened to before. Solid
Millennial synth pop. Couldn't get into it
HipHop classic. Sounds a bit dated now but still 5 stars for me
Lovely stuff. Another one I have been meaning to listen to for years
I'm not a big fan of country music and this album did nothing to change that
Definitely of its time in the production and lyrics, but still a great album overall. 5 stars for me
Indie triphop with lots of wailing
Nothing particularly offensive or memorable. It's possibly getting the 3rd star because I only had to listen to 31 mins
Psychedelic jazzy stuff. From the album title you can guess that it might not be the most upbeat affair. 3 stars just for Gypsy Woman
I could never get into Folk music and this was pretty much how I expected it would be. I'm sure it's great for fans of the genre, but I found her voice a bit grating after a while
I really wasn't looking forward to listening to a mostly acapella Björk album. The beatboxing elements on Where Is The Line & Triumph Of A Heart worked really well, so 3 stars just for those
A bunch of wallies
daytime radio friendly soft rock. Inoffensive but also nothing special
I am generally not a fan of Jazz but I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would, more upbeat than expected
Solid album, folk, rock and a couple of funky numbers. Pleasant enough to listen to but I probably won't revisit it
A new one for me and wasn't sure what to expect. The first track had a triphop vibe and I enjoyed the first half of the album. The latter half wasn't as strong but overall a decent listen from someone I wasn't aware of
Quite different form their earlier stuff with more of a rock feel. One that would benefit from another listen
80s pop, sounds a bit like Prince. Knew quite a few songs already. Won't be listening again
Great stuff. Not sure if what I listened to on Spotify was actually the right album as it was only 17 mins long
I really dislike Bon Jovi's brand of pop rock ballads, but Wanted Dead or Alive is class
A lot of people hate Morrissey, but I don't mind him. This was good, but not great
3 just for River Man
OK hard rock album. Reviews say it's a "landmark" but I didn't see it. maybe would benefit from another listen
A new one for me and a lot more grungey than expected
Country folk pop that didn't do much for me. On paper the concept of the album sounds interesting but listening was a different matter
inoffensive folky stuff, won't be revisting
I like Jamie XX "In Colour" but never listened to the XX before. This was oK but nothing really stood out for me
Easy 5
Raw punk stuff. Enjoyable
Love this album. Bought it the week it was released and enjoyed listening to it again for the first time in ages. Peak Big Beat party tunes
Folk isn’t my cup of tea at all, but this was a fairly enjoyable listen
Funky stuff, lots of classic tracks and recognized a good few samples too
Sweet Jane is class
Dub/triphop, music was ok to listen to but some of the lyrics ruined it for me
Sounds quite dated now but Humpty Dance is a banger
so-so. I don't know much of Divine Comedy's work, but the have some better songs than the stuff on this album
Never got into nu-metal and this won't change it
Enjoyed this a lot. Typical Jamiroquai 70s sound but great stuff
Easy 5
Class
Enjoyed this, will definitely be listening again
Another one I have been meaning to listen to for years. Great stuff
Easy 5
Linkin Park meets 70s prog rock
Lovely stuff
Enjoyed this a lot
Shouty grungey stuff. Thought 1 or 2 sounded familiar and then read that a couple of songs were featured in Jackass
Nothing new but still an enjoyable listen
A soundtrack for a non-existent film. Started off weird and wonderful but couldn't sustain my interest for the whole album.
Sounds dated now but still classic
A new one for me that I quite enjoyed. Will listen again
Another new one for me. 70s rock stuff. Pleasant enough to listen to but wouldn't be rushing back
Lovely stuff
