Rattlesnakes
Lloyd Cole And The CommotionsI like this. They're like, we're gonna go express ourselves in the corner over here. You're welcome to listen if you want to but you don't have to.

2-29-2024 This is such a cool idea. I'm glad Sarah included me in it. Mellow. This kind of stuff is cool. It doesn't "speak to me" but it's pleasant to listen to. Untitled is my FAVORITE ! LMAO "And they all got ass" Also, mutual slump -------------- Second listen started in the morning. First track hit me and I'm "primed to listen" I like it.
2-29-2024 I didn't realize that Immigrant song was the first track. I started listening from the playlist that Sarah made for this sharing experience. I thought I clicked on the first led zep song but I hit the second. I really like Friends. Sarah mentioned Tangerine. It was easy to listen to multiple times consecutively. It seems short. The intro instrumentals fade from memory once they're over. They aren't bad they just ...I donno get left in the past. I started listening to DJ Shadow again after this. Also, this is a pretty good listen. The guitars are almost intimidating though. Like, dayum!...
3-1-2024 Started in the morning. I want to be more focused when I listen to this. I think it will be like Twister by Remy Zero. I'll have to work at it but once I understand the lyrics, I expect to like it very much. Planning to listen to TBG tonight. Couldn't get in the right mindset last night. This will be an ongoing listen. Added to downloads. A few listens later, I really like tracks 2 and 3. It seems like something always interrupts me during Karma Police..
I most associate Meat Loaf with Rocky Horror. Very easy album to get through due to the short play time, listened 3x. Juxtaposition of dive bar biker metal and love ballads. Paradise by the Dashboard Light had me dying, an anthem for couples in desperate need of therapy, true romance 😹. Easy listen.
3-3-2024 With the exception of the two singles, I couldn't tell you a single thing about any individual song on this album. The songs blend. Nothing is here to "keep it separated" they're all the same high energy bounce that I should like but don't with the same backing vocals. Whoa, whoaOah, whoAo
3-4-2024 Earthquake Weather is my favorite so far. Mostly a consistent sound up to this point. This is a nice break to mellow out a bit. Overall, I enjoyed this.
3-5-2024 I didn't need or want this in my life.
3-6-2024 I've always had a reluctance to listen to the Chili Peppers--probably because of the sock thing. Throughout the years, I have been presented with evidence that they're a talented group of musicians (especially Flea), heard bands I like compared with them, and found myself enjoying some before I knew who was performing. The amount of these tracks that I'm familiar with without deliberately seeking this content it has to say something about it's quality, doesn't it?
3-7-2024 I like the instrumentation. The vocals are pleasant sounding but the lyrics are...worth a listen. Kinda dark. Not terrible but not really for me (maybe if I listened more than once but..)
3-8-2024 I got excited, ngl..I don't know what songs are on this album but I like everything I've heard from the Black Keys.
I only listened to the first song. Not even the whole thing. I just want feeling like music yesterday. The album a day pace is a little too quick sometimes.
I haven't listened yet. Still working through the previous album. I'm not completely unfamiliar with three Femmes and I'm in general a HUGE fan of self titled albums. I'm excited to see if this fits among the ranks of The Doors, Bad Company, and Mt. Joy or if it's more of an Aerosmith with only the one memorable track.
I about done with yesterday's album by the Violent Femmes (self titled) and I'm glad to say it IS like the Doors, Bad Company, amd Mt. Joy. I like it a lot. Promise stood out (among others). My lens is slightly disrupted but I'm getting over it quickly. I am interested to see which songs are in the Police album. Most of the way through the album. Just been listening at work while doing other things. I like the police, they have a chill sound with a dash of hop around!
I listened to the Coming Up album from 2003 because this one wasn't on my streaming service. I've always liked the more Latin styles of music. The album I listened to put me in the mood of traveling with purpose through a beautiful yet unforgiving landscape...reminds me of a girl I know.
Requires a certain volume level to make out the lyrics as if they're a little further back in the mix than I would like. That guitar solo in My Old School though...
For me, it really started picking up at 'Bladerunners'. Especially with that persistent bass line that sounds like it could be saying "Blade-Ru-Ners" if only it could shape the syllables. Following that up with lyrics like "if I were pregnant, I'd eat ice cream and pickles [...] Praise the Soul for what you got" in 'No. 1 St.' Then, the quiet song after?? Attention grabbing levels of variety on display here.
Pretty good. I don't know if I'll be delving deeper based on this but I liked it. Especially Dig For Fire. That one spoke to me
I like the instrumentation in this. Overall, it seemed a little heavy on the spoken word intros--it felt like every song had one. Unfortunately, those were some of the only words I understood. Might try to finish some day. Rating system: 1 means I didn't finish and have no intention/desire to, 2 means I didn't finish but wouldn't mind listening more, 3 means I finished it but probably won't seek out more, 4 means I finished and I liked it, 5 means it is likely to be added to my regular listening and I may seek it more similar material
Would listen again. Makes me think of The Cramps a little bit .
This is great for zoning out during commutes! I listened while driving to work this morning--it enhanced those dumb little moments...you know when you're passing a truck or changing lanes. Some tracks make driving feel like sailing.
I'm on Fire alone is enough for a listen to the whole album. Off enjoying "wet" and "head" .... It's so crazy it just might work
I wish I could copy paste my review from the album 2 days ago: "perfect for the morning commute" LmAoOo Good vocals, creative stories, steller instrumentals. I would seek out more from this artist but not necessarily more murder ballads. A whole album of them seems a bit much..
Good for the way I felt yesterday.
I have no intention of listening to this. I got partway through the first track and it's like...yeah, no. I don't need to force myself to listen to something that I don't like. I listened to a new Maggie Rogers song, then the earliest HAIM album available on Tidal. So that was my album today.
Nice for a chill Sunday around the house. Decent variety between tracks considering the genre.
This is exactly what I needed right now!
DOPE!!! I e been waiting for the Doors like track 2
This album is pretty, this album is good
I sent a link for Lizard Lady to a friend with context. He said "I didn't like it. It hurt my ears." I thought it was a very interesting listen. Definitely weird. Has a folk meets noise kind of vibe. I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars using the scale below: 1 ⭐means I didn't finish and have no intention/desire to. 2 ⭐⭐means I didn't finish but wouldn't mind listening more, 3 ⭐⭐⭐means I finished it but probably won't seek out more, 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐means I finished and I liked it, 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐means it is likely to be added to my regular listening and I may seek it more similar material
Another self titled album, let's GOOOOOooooo! They aren't really my kind of music but it's self titled so I'm kinda obligated. It was aight.. didn't convert me to fandom. Interesting how all the self titled albums seemed to be "good" have at least one major hit.
Bowie!!
It is alright. A little repetitive for my liking but not bad.
Not my vibe. Very chuggy.
My kind of thing but I have to be in the mood for story time.
I like it. Kinda bouncy sometimes. Kind crazy other times. Good listen. Looked for more and was disappointed by how little I found.
Picture the scene from Elf when he heard about the mall Santa. That was me when this album popped up.
I've heard this album many times. It is one of the first that I ever bought (digitally) when I got my smartphone in highschool. I didn't know who played the songs that had been stuck in my head since my early elementary car rides to and from school with my mom. I heard When I Come Around and Basket Case on the radio with her way back then. There were a few other songs spread around between artists and other Green Day albums but those two tracks are the ones that lead me to purchasing Dookie. Some of my first steps out of total withdrawal from the world.
So far I'm liking it. Several tracks in. Chocolate Cake was an odd choice for the first song lol All I Ask isy new favorite song!
I'm not sure why I see a Walmart display towel when I look at the album art but this is another self titled album for the list of great ones. I didn't even know their "big hit" was on this one until I was a song or two way from it. I wish other tracks would get radio time..I would have found this album sooner.
It was nice hearing more from REM than the usual suspects.
Well played. Not quite my sound.
Funny that it was up right after that album by the Byrds. Also, it is springtime. Good album. There was one track I really liked but I was driving.
This album is full of little triggers that really enhance the sound
C'mon
I DONT HAVE A CLUE WHAT THIS GUY IS SAYING But it's a relaxing listen.
The album flew by in both a good and a bad way. I would've liked more but I didn't get burned out on the sound.
Wow ..
I like this. They're like, we're gonna go express ourselves in the corner over here. You're welcome to listen if you want to but you don't have to.
It was nitty. It was gritty. It was put together by an exceptionally talented group of people.
If the translated lyrics are even half as good as the instrumentation, this album is what the youths would call a banGer
This album has a nice sound. Perfect for a sunshiny drive home from work when you're using PTO the next day. Remind me of Scorpio Rising a little bit. Not my new favorite thing but I did sell it more of their music.
A lot more chill then the band and album name suggest.
I enjoyed it. It's funny that he's prolific enough to have his voice prominently features in the shuffle that followed that conclusion of the album
Who??
I'm not sure I NEEDED to listen to this before I die but it isn't bad.
I like the guitar work enough that I looked up the guitarist, Bernard Butler, and am planning to listen to his stuff later.
The album itself wasn't available on my streaming service so I picked a playlist someone made with the same name. This used to be the only kind of music I would listen to in middle/early highschool.
You should've seen my face when I saw his name!! I listened to the deluxe version. I liked the live section tracked into the end more than the intended album but still good. I didn't know Let it Grow was from this early in his career.
Lol, my streaming service has volumes 1-3 and 5...I guess I'll have to listen to Phil Ochs instead. I listened to Bobby's self titled album. There were a few really good ones on there.
Not my thing
Pleasantly surprised with how instrumental this is!!
If you don't like this, you don't have ears.
Very cool sounds. I like the amount of instrumentals and the tone. Interested in more.
His style is immediately recognizable! I think it's the piano that does it.
A friend of mine said I look like Chester so I made sure to give this a listen. About 1 and a half times. I like the lyrics but the sound is audible depression.
This is great! I'm going to listen again and probably look for more.
Fun little thing. I'll need to listen more closely sometimes.
Great
It was pretty alright. I was kind of surprised when it was over like, where's the rest??
Very dynamic album. I enjoyed it.
I didn't know that I didn't need this in my life until I listened to it. Their timing is good it's just not really for me. Kind of reminds me of a parody. Like, I could (and have) listen to Weird Al songs on a regular but I don't have any interest in listening to an album to straight through..if that makes sense.
Different names attached on the streaming app I use but it has the same title and cover art. Very good instrumentals. The audio version of the visual style. Especially the reflection. There is nothing happening in the valley. It is just a serene, peaceful day, spending time with the sheep.
I wouldn't ask someone to change the music if this was playing.
She knows how to use her voice and it's so cool!! I started listened to 19 immediately after finishing this one. When is she going to work with that Hozier fella?
Early Beatles is best Beatles.
I don't know what this is but I like it!
Not bad but longer than I could listen to in one sitting. Not really my thing.
It's alright. Better then their self titled album but missing a "Dream On" to make it really worth the listen.
Couldn't find this album on my streaming service so I picked the oldest one available (Philosophy from 1993). I like it a lot. Dreamer so far is my favorite. Also, is the most recent track I've heard. I like the "modern" jazzy flow.
I own a copy of this. It is good.
I like it. Didn't listen much on the day but I'm listening now. Nice sounds.
I was alright with it when I saw these guys pop up again. It still baffles me how it was decided which songs make the radio...
I really liked this. Might listen again, might not. Probably won't forget about it.
I struggled with the lyrics (making them out) but it get the feeling it might be an album like Ok Computer or Twisterwhere it takes a few listens
I think I had a religious experience with the ending of Limo Wreck..
It has the hit!! And others!
JELLOOOOOoooooo!!!
I LIKE this! Pepita is where it really grabbed me attention after listening off and on and letting myself get distracted and whatnot. I would like to listen more intentionally. Especially after the transition from Pepita into the next track.. And the"heart full of hornets" line.
Jazzy
Quirky.
It's alright. I like the bounciness. Vocals have that childhood depression vibe for me (kinda like all the music my mom used to listen to).
Some varied styles. Kinda like clean punk. Sounds like it came from Ohio.
I wish I was better able to understand the lyrics when I listened. Felt like it was probably pretty deep
By the second track, I said, out loud, "I like this at lot"
Nice sound. Want to listen to more than I did

The king
90.9 The Bridge plays these guys. Interesting hearing where it all started.
Great vocals. I didn't know he was religious.
"The record label does not permit [the streaming of] this track." Listened to Hair Pie: Bake 1... Would've been interesting
It was alright. I'm not clamoring for more but that teenager song was easy to sing along to
I bought a compilation album of these guys at Walmart a few years back... This album is way better than that
The king of a genre
Surprised by how clean and together this was. The sound is as attention grabbing as the cover lol
TopsZZ
I'm not really a Stones guy but this wasn't bad
Didn't exactly convince me to seek her music out but I didn't "change the channel"
I like the instrumentation. Not necessarily something if want to listen to with other people around... Does that make it a guilty pleasure?
Not the kind of relationships I would aspire to. Decent music though
Tra la lalala
One of the best self titled albums of all time
The last couple songs got my attention lyrically
I liked it. Interesting vocal style that's hard to understand but the album builds momentum as it goes
Very folky. I like this kind of music it is very vulnerable. As a Nebraska native, it doesn't sound like the state in the 2020s but maybe it used to..then again, I live in a city. Maybe this is the sound of the wide open?
Not really my thing. I'm glad I didn't pick the edited version that would've been equipment to stripping the vocals.
I got a strumming pattern or two out of listening to this. Interesting but I don't think I'll be regularly returning to the waters here
I've heard better.
I think I've heard them before. I like.
So clean
Add one to the list!
I couldn't really get all that invested. There were times and parts where a lyric grabbed me.
The track 'Theme' made a bird look funny driving to work today. I was coming off the interstate and this lil guy walked from the middle of the ramp to the shoulder to this song. 10/10 moment!
That last track got me through most of a 20 mile drive to work!
One of those that requires multiple listens. I like the sounds though. Kinda sad
Very interesting. I like the instrumentation and the vocals are pleasant.
Wish I was more invested while I was listening
BanGers
Bowie's aight
What GHAAAASTLY NOISE is that??
I actually really liked this!! I'm still making noises with my mouth and it's been 8 hours since I listened!!
It's Beck. There's catastrophic noises and nonsensical words string together to create a unique expression that I can't understand but entranced by
So good! Very emotive. I like the lyrics, vocals, and sax parts the most..especially those deep cuts
I still remember learning about these guys.
I was pretty into the first half but couldn't get back into it after an intermission.
Really nice.
I'm a Phil Ochs guy but this wasn't bad
Lots of hits on here
It would've been cool if they paid the lady with the pretty voice but at this point that's just trivia. Great album
Hit my taste
Pleasant sound. Vocals and instrumentation. Almost surfy but not quite?? Definitely enjoyable.
The man is a poet
I like the sound and the energy here
The political ads on YouTube sucked (album not on tidal) but overall I'd say they were worth it
An exceptionally quick listen. I like their old stuff like this
"Everyman's an island And the time is coming in Till you not know yourself That is the ultimate sin"
I liked it. Wasn't expecting female vocals so that was kinda nice
Things Behind the Sun
Very glad I came back to listen to this. It makes me regret giving out 5 stars all Willy nilly before because this albums 5 is watered down by the others.
Pretty good. Nothing grabbed me and I didn't want to feel sad when I listened soooo
I really like this sound. It's like .... Jazzy soft rock. The lyrics (when present) are very good. I'm not finished with the album yet and already multiple tracks have grabbed my attention.
I really like this album! It's like bluesy hip-hop. The guitar is excellent
It's not bad but not particularly memorable to me.
These guys make good stuff. I like the one about trees
Not bad. I'm okay with the sound but it isn't one that I seek out.
Kinda Radio Head / Take Impala ish...but probably older than those. I liked it for a listen but maybe not more??
I liked it. Nothing too attention grabbing on the first listen though.
Pretty much the Smiths. Familiar but strange and comfortably jarring.
SELF TITLED!!! 7 more stars are needed!
I liked the sound. Good musicality but only one song kind of caught me.
3 feels harsh but the live recording audio quality makes the musicality hard to spot. I like Money as covered by the Sonics better.
I wasn't blown away but the musicality is obvious, even gratuitous at times. Hard to understand the lyrics.
I liked it. Would listen again.
