Ok
Not a bad listen at all I love this site I get to hear albums I wouldnβt normally gravitate to a solid 3/4
Saw Miles Davis live during his Bitches Brew album tour In 1970 at the Filmore West In San Francisco opening for the Grateful Dead we were tripping and they took us to another planet musically and the Dead spent his whole set leaning on the back of the amps completely mesmerized While not Bitches Brew still itβs Miles Davis so a solid 4 for me
What an album!! Got to see them live at the Santa Monica civic auditorium with the electric prunes as the other band on the bill!! A must listen for anyone who likes 60βs Psychedelia bands a classic!!
It may take several listenings To fully appreciate some of the songs and the album as a whole. Paul has a unique and interesting style of writing Itβs no masterpiece by any means and we canβt give half stars so I give it a solid 4 and because of the memories of that time rocking my baby to this album β€οΈπ
Being in my 70βs I have a different perspective on this album's place historically. Johnny made a habit of playing prison concerts for free which was cool a lot of his hits are available on this album and since it is also live with the usual interactions that happens with a live audience adds to the spontaneous nature of this show if I was a bigger fan of this form of country music I might have given it a 4 because of of its historical significance
Although Iβm not the biggest fan Of personal bitterness albums As a whole I have come to realize That all musical art forms share the aches and pains of life in one form or another and this album has it in abundance and the more you listen the more you share her pain and angst and come to your Jesus moment that this is a f..ing Great album and give it an unequivocal 5
The reverend Al Green is a great R&B Artist and this is a good representation of this genre and a good not great album but the man can sing the genre well enough and is a powerful singer if you check out some of his songs that arenβt on this album but to call him a poor manβs Marvin Gay Is a little harsh there are a lot of R&B artists that came along at the same time like a lot of artists did in other genres but there is room for him to shine on his own without comparisons π
Early Van Halen! Great listening Again to his great guitar work and solid vocals from David give it a solid 4/5 for sure.. Eruption! Yikes!!
Finally an artist and album I can give an unequivocal 5 to Iβm old enough to remember all the songs that are hers that we always thought were originals to the artists that covered her expansive and evocative just look up all of her songs over the decades you will be surprised at all the artists that found her writing compelling from the Beatles to Aretha Franklin and all genres in between βοΈπ
Zappa very underrated guitar genius listen to the album apostrophe and you'll see what I mean been a Zappa fan since his early 60's beef heart band stuff
I know with Dylan his voice isnβt His strong suit in some peopleβs eyes but as a song writer he is iconic but I grew up with his music so his voice is engrained in my psyche so it is only familiar not an issue but come on a lot to hear Here every one of his albums are different even if the voice remains the same still give it a 5
Full grunge on display itβs pretty good not great for itβs genre but give it a solid 3
Saw Miles Davis live during his Bitches Brew album tour In 1970 at the Filmore West In San Francisco opening for the Grateful Dead we were tripping and they took us to another planet musically and the Dead spent his whole set leaning on the back of the amps completely mesmerized While not Bitches Brew still itβs Miles Davis so a solid 4 for me
Nothing needs to be said here that would even approach or be enough praise one of if not their best Album and needless to say a 5+
This is one of the albums he released after Harvest which was a very well received album critically but a lot of angst alienation and nihilistβs tendencyβs that was just part of his makeup he always had interesting opinions I mean how do you not want to give your permission to be filmed and put into the Woodstock Movie? You would think and I did as well that it was only Crosby Stills And Nash playing but he didnβt want his image or name associated with the event for his own Quirky reasons that being said compared to other works it is a really good album if your a consummate fan and I canβt give half stars but because I love a lot of the groups he was a part of I probably give him a slightly higher grade but itβs a 3+ at best
Yeah you would have to be a Curtis Mayfield fan to appreciate all the songs on this album to most the only real hit he had that I really remember was Superfly so maybe a two for me
Stevie Wonder is and always be a funk master love his whole catalog of albums always a 5 for meπ
Iconic Black Sabbath even thou not my favorite genre I recognize greatness when I hear it so as a critic personally a 4 but as an impartial critic of the genre a definite 5
Classic Alice not his best album but still a 3+ maybe four Iβll be generous on this one
Not my cup of tea a two and thatβs generous
Classic Costello unique sound and pretty good example of his artistry
Another Depech offering pretty good also
Classic live Allman brothers With all the original members before losing two members to motorcycle accidents on the same road a couple years apart The height of their powers with long imaginative jams great dueling guitars with great supporting cast and two drummers great great album!!

A little better African music offering
Not too many band include an introduction track at the beginning of an album and itβs just garage band stuff kind of just playing around in the basement but not bad in spots
Itβs the Cat and a really well produced album
Iconic and revolutionary for its day in a sea other iconic artists of that era Loved 1969 music and this was another great album by the Who after a string of equally great albums entered Rock Opera into the lexicon
