Wanted to hate it. I just don’t
Ok, so here’s my problem with Pearl Jam… 1.I had never consciously listened to them but if you played a song I would have probably guessed that’s who it is. Half the album are overplayed hits. I was most into the songs I had never heard before. 2. I have this preconceived notion of who a “pearl jam fan” is and it’s a crusty older dude who is wearing vans, past his prime, and waaaaay too into them. Everything is about stories from when they were in college… 3. I actually liked the music! It sounds good! But I can’t f’ing understand the lyrics because he slurs his words and mumbles! ENUNCIATE, please!
Blah. Wasn’t bad enough to be a one but didn’t hold my attention and I kept n ou ting how many more songs until it was over.
Wanted to hate it. I just don’t
My initial reaction was “uuuugghh no thank you” but honestly, embarrassingly liked it. Catchy and sweet
Can’t. Was open to it but just can’t. It was annoying.
Well that was fun and quirky
It was fine. Something I might play in the kitchen while cooking to zone out to. Otherwise no real pull to listen to again.

It was ok. Wanted to get into it, forgettable.
I started listening to this album on my way to work at 5am and I thought it was annoying. Driving home from work…I loved it! Either the songs got better as the album progressed or I’m really not a morning person.
Damn. I really thought I would hate this. I kept finding myself turning the volume in my car louder and louder. Raw and not super polished but I loved that about it.

I always like Fiona Apple, but always forget about her. Once it’s on, it’s like, “oh yeah she’s great,” then I don’t think about it anymore when the listen is done. Maybe just too soft and moody, I have to be in the right spot to listen to.
I saw the 11 minute opener and about rolled my eyes….but quickly realized it was something magical and amazing! The whole album was WOW! Everyone knows the hits but I realized I had never actually listened to Elton John. And I absolutely have a new favorite.
Maybe it was because I was coming down off an Elton John high from the day before, but this was sooooo boring! It was painful to finish. Just soft and slow and every song is the same. It deserves to be played as background music in a spa, and that’s being generous.
Like a poor man’s The Beatles. Album started strong then lost focus. Green Day definitely took a lot of sound from these guys. Would probably listen to again. Quirky.
Whhhaaaaaattt thhheee fuuuuckkk…nope!
Meh
Fun listen! Will happily re-play this entire album!
Wow been a while since this one. Majorly into during this album during college in art school. Surprisingly still very good and it brought back some feelings. Don’t know that I would still continue to listen to it.
I had no idea what this was prior to it popping up on my que. What a surprise! I was in my car dying laughing. Great beats. It was fun!
I like it. Don’t know that I would listen to it in whole again. Although, I’d love to fuck to it.
It was good. I liked it better than the other Hendrix (3rd album) I already had. Actually appreciated the short songs!
Honestly? This is the first time I’ve ever listened to a Prince album. It was great!!! Big fan!! Will absolutely re-listen!
It was nice. Sometimes this album generator weirdly syncs with what I need in my life at a particular moment. This oddly came the day before Christmas, leaving a 14 hour retail management job and all the chaos that entails. It was just a nice sense of peace to drive home to.
Will not listen to this. Grinch to the core.
Call me ignorant, but not even a little what I had in mind when I read “post-punk Scottish Band.” It was delightful! Fun and bouncy and the whole album made me happy to listen to. Reminds me a lot of early ska bands in the 90’s/00’s.
Woof. This Eminem album is rough. There is no denial he is extremely talented and I enjoy his music. But this album is hard to listen to.
Well damn!
I like it. But I also really don’t like so. He absolutely cannot sing.
This. Was. Awful. Very 80’s and VERY bad 80’s. First album I couldn’t finish. If I could give it negative points I would. On a positive note, it is winning for worst album cover.
Surprisingly great! It’s chill and relaxed yet also happy and peppy which is hard to do. When i to the mystic came on i had a sudden *aha* moment! Say what you will, but the American Pie trilogy always holds a nostalgic place in my heart. During the end of American Wedding there is a sweet moment and a cover of this sing plays. I have always LOVED this song but never really knew it. Will listen to this album again!
Gotta love some snoop! Fun to listen to. It’s amazing how many songs I didn’t know but somehow so many of those same lyrics turn into catchphrases and permeate into everyday vernacular. Yes, the lyrics are outdated and misogynist and such, and that’s typical of a lot of 90’s and early 00’s. I think people like snoop needed to push those envelopes to get to a level of sensitivity and awareness that exists today.
First album I’ve gotten that I know inside and out. Beck will always be a 5 for me! It’s got beats, funk, style, and energy. Beck is just one talented motherfucker!
I’m so confused. What just happened to me? Send help. I need a shower and an adult. Even my dog is staring with a concerned look. If these guys had a podcast today everyone would listen to it but they all secretly hate it. They talk just for the sake of talking. Sounds like it could be background music for a horror movie in an insane asylum, specially toward the end. I think they hate women. I NEVER want to hear this again.
I don’t think I like jazz
This was weird and I loved it.
This is the first I’ve ever listened to Fleetwood Mac. I feel like I really wanted to like it but just couldn’t get into it. Also mixed in Stevie’s voice. It’s unique and interesting but only for a couple of songs then I get over it.
Boring. There’s a reason I don’t go to church.
I am learning that psychedelic hippie rock is not for me.
This was fun! I listened to it while cleaning the house and had a good time. I would re-listen.
Ice Cube is cool
I could do with a little less jesus, but otherwise great album! I’ve been through a huge Beatles phase, then Lennon, then McCartney, and somehow never delved into Harrison. Glad this came across!
I saw this album pop up and was excited. Haven’t really listened to RHCP other than big hits you hear everywhere and thought I would be really into it. I wasn’t. It just all kinda sounds the same and is a lot of noise. Very disappointed.
Fuck ya!
Chocolataaaaateee caaaaaakkke! Lol. Album was fine.
Well that was some weird shit.
This was great! Loved it!
It’s Elvis. I wouldn’t listen to again but found myself unconsciously tapping along.
It has been a long time since I’ve listened to this album. But it is still simply perfect.
I almost stopped after the first song. Which is awful. There were some moderately decent songs and some bad songs but nothing that would make me replay this again. Reminded me a bit of The Shin.
Good listen! Like soft-core punk. Nothing crazy stood out but I would listen to again.
I always thought the “lime in the coconut” was just a funny phrase! Who knew it has origins as an actual song!!! Never heard of this guy but he’s great! Thoroughly enjoyed this album and have already replayed it!
Third jazz album. Still don’t like jazz.
I really thought I would hate this. But oddly by the end of the album I didn’t. It was interesting and something different. Didn’t mind it.
Listening to this album was like having someone in “The Friend Zone.” You really like this person and quite enjoy their company. But there’s just something you can’t quite put your finger on that you don’t want to bang them. Same with this album. Just couldn’t quite say I loved it, but has potential with a re-listen.
If you had bet me in the 1963 that four years later this same group would produce Sgt. Pepper I would have definitely lost that bet. On a totally different planet for their sound and style at this point.
This was great! Funk and very catchy. Already replayed it!
I love the Doors with their classic Psychedelic sounds….Ive learned I love them more when they learn into the blues sounds. Only heard bit and pieces before but this was an overall very enjoyable listen.
I’ve always avoided heavy metal because I just didn’t think it would be for me. Holy hell was I wrong! This album blew my mind and was amazing! Full out jamming at work and keeping beats. Biggest surprise so far 60+ albums into this project. And so far my favorite find of a song with Running Free. Who knew!? But I’m sold on this album!
Definitely wish I was high when I listened to this album. Hits and misses but overall enjoyable.
This has aged very poorly. But then again, maybe it wasn’t ever any good.
Very torn about this one. There is no denying he is extremely talented and really paved the way for a next generation. But he’s also a disgusting human being.
I don’t know how I feel about this. It’s so goddamn catchy and bouncy it’s almost annoying. But it’s also just so goddamn catchy and bouncy! I feel like this is an album that grows on you after a bunch of listens. Then one day you just suddenly find yourself in your car blasting it and screaming it at the top of your lungs.
Couple decent songs but overall very underwhelming and forgettable. Nothing majorly off putting, just nothing exciting either.
Meh. It was fine. Forgettable.
Fun and enjoyable but I feel like it’s a style that “you had to be there” for. Started ti all sound the same after awhile.
This was fun! Put me in a great mood!
Not bad. Liked it better than the morrissey solo album I had. A couple good ones but nothing to write home about.
I can appreciate her talent and she’s good. Just not my cup of tea.
Wow! This album is hit after hit after hit!! I had no idea. Wanted to hate it but I just didn’t.
Enjoyable. Could probably use a relisten.
Kinda want to watch this movie now and see what this was all about! Great change of pace and fun to listen to!
I cannot listen to this in spotify. Therefore they are disqualified.
Sounds like The Bloodhound Gang. But if they Bloodhound Gang was sad and whiney as fuck.
Second Iron Maiden album. Fuck. Maybe I do like metal! Who knew!?! As a 40 year old woman I have never in my life gravitated toward this type of music or sought it out. Never opposed, just not my thing. But damn! I have loved both albums!
I spent the whole album thinking, “wow this really sounds a lot like a guy who had a song featured on the Garden Sate movie..” only to later google it and and find out that, yes, it was the same guy. This album did not sound like it was from the early 70’s! Had a very modern feel. Reminds me of Mark Kozelek.
Wow this was actually great! All I ever knew about Courtney was she was drugged out crazy and her connection to Kurt. Love the passion and grit! I feel like Julia Stiles in 10 Things I Hate About You would have approved of this album.
Well that was a bummer. I feel like I need a hug and some Lexapro.
Blah. Wasn’t bad enough to be a one but didn’t hold my attention and I kept n ou ting how many more songs until it was over.
It was fine.
Damn. This album still just hits so goddamn hard!
Huh. I was actually really curious to have this album and see what Alice Cooper is about. Not what I would have thought. Not for me but wasn’t bad.
This was surprising! Typically, psychedelic rock scores very low for me. But this had a lot of substance and range.
I would genuinely love to meet a Beach Boys. They must be an absolute piece of work. This was atrocious. I would rather rub my knuckles against a cheese grater than listen to this again. If I were to kidnap someone and lock them in a basement, I would play in album on repeat as I believe it would be the most sincere version of torture to endure.
This was great! I can’t wait to listen to again! Funky and catchy!
Well alright, Common…get it!
Like the soundtrack to a cheap indie movie. Hard pass.
What a surprise! When I get albums like this that come out of nowhere, with no expectations, and yet they delight! This is why I continue to do this project.
LOVED this! Great vibes
I was deep into Radiohead for many years. But it’s been a long while since listening to. Man, this album is still amazing and I feel it to my core.
Wow!!! First time actually giving Aretha a listen and she did not disappoint! I want to replay!
Le suck
Uuugghhh….what a whiney little bitch
Wow! Very cool! I feel I need to start a list of albums I’m truly glad I got to hear before I died. And while they may not all be the coveted 5, these albums are special, unexpected and unique. This is one of them.
