Deja Vu
Crosby, Stills, Nash & YoungI can’t deny their talent, or musicianship. But I still don’t like the style of music.

Bitter Sweet Symphony was beat to death on the radio, so I almost turned it off as soon as it started playing. I wished I had. The rest of the songs ran together and sounded the same. The only song worth listening to was Rolling People. It reminded me of early U2.
Always love an excuse to listen to Morrissey!
Interesting, that I’ve never heard this album before. Overall, it’s a solid 3
Not my kind of music. I did like the song “Portia”
Always been a fan
Love this!
Great album!
Another great album!
Wasn’t my style of music
I thought it was terrible
Sounded like 60’s heavy metal meets blues
Definitely not like anything I listen to regularly, but I liked it.
Not my favorite Bowie album
Uninteresting and the songs seemed to drone on
Classic John Hughes era music. What’s not to like?!
I do not like folk music and this is no exception.
Great album but I had a hard time finding it. It was only available on Spotify
Great album!
I love the temptations!
I didn’t like a single song on this album
Not my kind of music
Not my kind of music
Classic 70’s pop. I grew up hearing this, so it brought great memories!
I did not expect to like this album as much as I did!
Interesting album. I liked better than I thought I would.
Amazing depth, soul, and R&B from a young Brit woman. Such a shame she died so young.
It doesn't really do anything, or go anywhere. There's no passion. It's like they're going through the motions and nothing about this sounds special or groundbreaking.
I’m familiar with Sonic Youth and enjoy their music. But they’re what I call “mood music”. I have to be in the mood for goth/alternative/angry music. That used to be my go to music of choice back in my angry youth days
He’s a talented singer/songwriter writer. The music is melodic and generally peaceful - good for the morning to ease into the day. Having said that, it’s still not my fave style of music.
There was nothing hardcore about this album. The music was uninspiring and boring.
Who hasn’t heard the song, but I’ve never heard the whole album before. I’m not even sure I’ve heard any other song from Don McLean other than American Pie. There were no surprises. Thoughtfully written lyrics accompanied by his smooth, melodious voice. Everybody Loves Me, Baby was a lot of fun and my fave.
I liked Joy Division after they became New Order. There are only a couple JD songs I ever liked and this album doesn’t contain them. I don’t understand how this is considered a great album. It’s almost like I’m being gaslighted.
I don’t understand how this album made this list. The musicianship was ok, but I’m pretty sure he was off pitch more than once. His “singing” is terrible. This is definitely not my kind of music.
Huge fan of Marvin Gaye
I’ve never heard of them before but I’ve seen the cheesy horror movie by the same name. I went in with low expectations and ended up enjoying the album.
Well, this definitely deserves a spot on the list! Even if it’s not my style of music, I still recognize his genius. And I don’t mind a listen every now and then :)
I enjoyed the creative twist to punk - at first. But the album ended up feeling too long and I had to stop listening.
I’ve heard so many of these songs but did not know who did them. What’s worse, is that I attributed them to different artists. WOW, Harry Nilsson! You bad ass singer songwriter. I enjoyed this album WAY more than I expected.
Rock opera style albums are complicated. You have to enjoy the story and the music. I didn’t enjoy either. The synthesizer sounded the same which made the songs drone on.
Free form psychedelic rock. Instrumental and all over the place. I couldn’t listen to it. Shoot the messenger!
A wonderful blend of the Beatles and possibly Queen, with more synthesizer and big post production. I loved it
It was like listening to the music from Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood sometimes. Other times it reminded me of 80’s video game music. I didn’t hate it and I didn’t love it. I tolerated some of it. In the immortal words of so many before me, meh
Great blend of R&B/Soul and rap. I’m not usually a big fan of modern rap, but I like old school rap like this. It’s like Motown meets rap. Well done, sir!
Whiny, high pitched voice. Slow, monotonous, and boring music accompanying that whiny voice = not my kind of music
I can’t deny their talent, or musicianship. But I still don’t like the style of music.
I know this album well.
Angry music that was a little tough to listen to on a Monday morning. Aside from that, it was decent punk rock
Classic 80s
Reminded me of a futuristic soundtrack for a Cheech & Chong movie. Super chill, with an almost Latin flair. The songs were super long but I really enjoyed this.
B O R I N G
After Stranger Things, if i never heard Running Up That Hill again it would still be too soon. The rest of the album didn’t fare much better. Definitely not my thing.
I love Annie Lennox’s voice. Even tho it’s not my style, I listened to and enjoyed the whole album!
Had to stream this from YouTube since it’s not available on any other service in the US. Couldn’t stream it in the background - thanks YouTube :( Welp?! It wasn’t worth the effort. I would have liked the album, the songs were interesting at first. But that didn’t last long. Many of the songs sounded the same and it dragged on. What made that worse was not being able to skip ahead in the song. I ended up not listening to a few songs because they sounded like the previous song.
Bitter Sweet Symphony was beat to death on the radio, so I almost turned it off as soon as it started playing. I wished I had. The rest of the songs ran together and sounded the same. The only song worth listening to was Rolling People. It reminded me of early U2.
I can’t wrap my head around why Sonic Youth is so highly regarded. For me, this album was a boring blend of noise and stress. Like a collection of dissonant sounds, strange chords, and screams.
Angry mood music
I enjoyed a few songs. Many of them sounded the same and ran together if it weren’t for the pauses in between.
It’s Talking Heads… Weird music that ran together. Did I hate it? No. Did I skip to the next song mid way through each song? ABSOLUTELY!
Unfortunately, Come On Eileen defined Dexy for me. The switch from upbeat 80’s to slow and warbling vocals DID NOT work for me.
T E R R I B L E
Jazz with a Latin flare. I loved this album!
I like some of Rod Stewart’s albums but I did not care for this one.
I frequently question how many of the albums I’ve listened to made it to this list. But!… This album absolutely belongs on the list. Arguably one of best albums by The Beatles. Revolution 9 baffles me to this day. Don’t know what that’s supposed to be about! Could do without that song and Good Night.
I tried, I really tried. But there is no way I could listen to the whole album. I hated the vocals and the songs were boring. Cheesy cliches “not for all the tea in china” “like a chicken with its head cut off”. Indie for the sake of Indie. Silly. Self indulgent.
Her vocals a terrible and I don’t see how this album made the list.
It’s the Beatles and for that reason alone, it’s a classic. I like the Beatles but The White Album was just a couple days ago and I got my fix for a while. This album showed up in the list too soon.
She’s very talented and has a beautiful voice. But I don’t like dance/pop music
This album was not like the music I’ve heard from The Who. Clearly this was an earlier stuff and I heard similarities with other British music of the time. Overall I thought it was interesting and even weird at times. Definitely an age when you smoked some pot and veg’d out.
Classic Stones album with a few songs that I really enjoy.
Erik Clapton is an extremely talented guitarist and I enjoyed listening to him play. Having said that, I’m not a fan of Cream.
TBH, I didn’t care for this album. It started with Mannish Boy and Muddy bragging about what a ladies man he is. Then, the songs were too long so they seemed to drag on.
Yes, this was a chore. Had to forward thru every song about midway
Remarkable singer, talented musicians. Not my style of music
Cacophonous punk that I enjoyed
The singer has an amazing voice but the music is terrible! The horns tried to add a jazz vibe but the cheesy synth ruined it. The slow songs were soulful but BORING!
Ever since I heard Slayer’s version of In-a-gada-davida, this version no longer swings. So after a minute or so, I had to skip the rest of the song. The rest of the album was not any easier to listen to even tho the songs were less than 5 minutes long. I get it, this music was influential but the past is the past.
Basically, it’s Steely Dan. Brilliant musician. Not my thing
It sounded like… Well? Noise. And given it’s classified as noise rock, I guess that’s not surprising. Hated it!
I found myself asking, “why?!” after listening to the first 3 songs. And I use songs loosely!
I thought it was a bad combination of Jack Johnson and Bob Dylan. His vocals were warbled and stylized. No sir, I don’t like it.
I like sloppy punk rock when it’s intentional, but this was just plain off pitch. Again, noise rock… I found myself asking: “why?!”
I’ve always hated Bob Dylan’s voice. No slight against him, purely personal.
Not a huge shoegaze fan. Some of the songs reminded me of old bands like The Church. This was hit or miss for me. I liked some of the songs.
I am a big fan of U2 back when you could still hear their punk influences. This album is like lukewarm coffee. Tepid, boring, and lacking anything to hold my interest.
Fun album if you’re a fan of funk
Either this album is so familiar to me, or this is the second time it’s been suggested. Overall, I like this album. I don’t love it, so it’s a solid 3 for me
Jazz is my favorite genre. I loved this album. John Coltrane is sometimes a little too frenetic for me, but this album wasn’t over the top
Absolute nightmare. I couldn’t tell if they were truly terrible or if they meant to sound like that on purpose. Offbeat and dissonant over the top!
Talking Heads is hit or miss for me, usually a miss. David Byrnes’ voice is high pitched, whiny, and he strains sometimes. I don’t mind that in a few of their songs. But this album wasn’t the case. I give it a single star. I had to skip thru songs less than half way through because his voice was pissing me off.
I don’t like the slow monotony
I understand this was a great album but it was beat to death. I was forced to hear the songs on the radio and in public venues, so I’m not listening to it now.
Beatles rip off, meh Srsly, not a bad mix between trippy music and the Beatles.
Angry and screaming. Did I miss something? I wasn’t a fan of Hole back in the day, and I’m still not a fan
