Purple Rain by Prince
Jan 30 2025

Warm and a bit wobbly - lovely tone. Guitar solos? Drum solos?

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Feb 03 2025

Varied

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Feb 04 2025

Like being in a montage of an 80s film. Very much the same all the way through - driving beat

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Feb 06 2025

It was calm and peaceful, like a pleasant wallpaper. I enjoyed it but it quickly faded into the background

The Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Feb 07 2025

Familiar sounds, I enjoyed the warmth. The sort of noises I like to make.

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Feb 11 2025

Enjoyed it - I like the energy and fun. World music delivers something different and its a bit nostalgic for me too which is good.

The Holy Bible by Manic Street Preachers
Feb 12 2025

Better than i thought - good energy. Newer stuff sounds tired and formulaic but this was quite fresh

Metallica by Metallica
Feb 13 2025

Actually not bad, in some ways its got a folky vibe, pretty guitar riffs alongside driving rhythms. I didn't mind it!

Electric Prunes by The Electric Prunes
Feb 14 2025

Never heard of these guys before, slightly odd but fun. I can imagine the room they are recording in - low brown sofas with questionable stains and smoke from an unknown leaf hanging thickly in the air. Hang on a minute, they released an album of a mass. What is this?

B-52's by The B-52's
Feb 26 2025

Quite enjoyed it - crisp but warm tone

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Feb 28 2025

Actually not bad. I always think of Billy Crystal when I hear is name.

Mar 03 2025

Not something I'd have picked up to listen to ever. I quite enjoyed the tone of the recording and the storytelling in the lyrics

Mar 04 2025

It was ok, but quite a hard listen. Maybe not ideal on a sunny morning - would be great in a pub in ireland somewhere..

Fragile by Yes
Mar 05 2025

I'm sure some of these are demo tunes from a Casio keyboard... Fine, a bit Dad rock, maybe alan partridge but perhaps thats just because i'm biased by the name...

Doolittle by Pixies
Mar 11 2025

Steve Lamacqy, quite a lot on 6 music. I guess I can hear some influencing of later music but overall I wasn't a huge fan

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
Mar 12 2025

Enjoyed it, some familiar things but they seemed to fit together well in the context of the other songs - i guess thats an album!

Our Aim Is To Satisfy by Red Snapper
Mar 13 2025

I enjoyed this, I've never heard of them before and it was really good

Bitte Orca by Dirty Projectors
Mar 14 2025

Really liked this, can tell it's a new york type band but that didn't put me off too much!

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
Mar 17 2025

Another Hendrix - started weird but got into the groove.

Station To Station by David Bowie
Mar 18 2025

Not listened to full Bowie - wasn't concentrating very well on it but it was pretty good

Dust by Screaming Trees
Mar 19 2025

A bit battle of the bands

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Mar 24 2025

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
Mar 31 2025

Fun, like being in a 60s spy film

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
Apr 01 2025

Its a classic, hard to listen to with fresh ears. I love the warm tone

Dummy by Portishead
Apr 02 2025

90s, fun. I could hear the sounds of Delirious and other such things

Tanto Tempo by Bebel Gilberto
Apr 04 2025

Enjoyed it but it was quite wallpapery - background music

Boston by Boston
Apr 07 2025

Not a big fan, bit dad rock

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Apr 09 2025

Love this, fun, energetic, nostalgic. Normally not one for upbeat but I enjoyed this a lot

The Gershwin Songbook by Ella Fitzgerald
Apr 17 2025

This was pretty long! High quality musicianship and top level songwriting.

Rocks by Aerosmith
Apr 18 2025
Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
Apr 29 2025

Tried, failed. Couldn't listen to it

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Apr 30 2025

Listening to a bunch of these back to back really changes how they sound. Enjoyable! I guess it helps that it was next to Notorious BIG...

Not really my thing but I enjoyed it - like a pub knees up

Savane by Ali Farka Touré
Jul 03 2025

I enjoy this kind of thing but there wasn't a lot of dynamic to it, more or less the same all the way through

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Jul 08 2025

Some of these songs are so familiar now, it's good to hear them in a more original form.

Suzanne Vega by Suzanne Vega

It grew on me once I got used to the 80s production

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Jul 10 2025

Funky, souly, enjoyable.

Jul 15 2025

It was fine, it seemed revolutionary at the time but maybe it was so succesful that now it seems a bit meh. Enjoyed it for the nostalgia trip mainly
