I can understand being mesmerized by the music but I ultimately find it unappealing.

Has all the elements of the greatest rock music from the mid-70s to early 80s. You can hear the impact on Fiona Apple and Ani DiFranco…great stuff!!

Did not age very well…a recording that could only have been made in that time and place.

I like some of there music but overall this is mediocre…have heard better local bands.

She is enormously talented and her songwriting is excellent…it is clear why she is a superstar.

As I listened to my daughters’ favorite rock and pop bands it became clear that the Strokes have had a huge influence on the sound of rock music.

Alex Chilton influenced many bands we like…some great riffs but uneven.

Solid blues rock…they are probably great live.

Pick the influence: Beatles or Queen or Bowie or Talking Heads or Tears for Fears, etc

Important and influential…not all of the music holds up but the power of her work is still there.

I liked it better than I thought I might…uneven still but the good stuff is really good!!

Good Golly Miss Molly and Penthouse Pauper are terrific, blistering and high energy. Some are duller but they do rock.

Wild and undisciplined proto punks…kick out the jam m’fers indeed!

I got a peaceful easy feeling listening to this album!

The perfect record…I hear it still as I heard it the first time I listened.

It has always sounded nostalgic to me. Music of a time and place...some good tunes but not timeless.

Kind of average 90s pop rock…couple of good songs in there.

The Byrds Sweetheart of the Rode is fantastic…this is where Uncle Tupelo, Whiskey Town, Drive By Truckers, and all of their offshoots are from!

Sly was probably the first R & B artist that I knew and liked…great stuff.
