The Kinks are one of the great chroniclers of mid 20th century British society. Wonderful!

Amazing disc…listened to it 1,000 times and it never gets old!

Straight up classic rock and roll music 🎸

I can understand being mesmerized by the music but I ultimately find it unappealing.

Has all the elements of the greatest rock music from the mid-70s to early 80s. You can hear the impact on Fiona Apple and Ani DiFranco…great stuff!!

Did not age very well…a recording that could only have been made in that time and place.

I like some of there music but overall this is mediocre…have heard better local bands.

She is enormously talented and her songwriting is excellent…it is clear why she is a superstar.

As I listened to my daughters’ favorite rock and pop bands it became clear that the Strokes have had a huge influence on the sound of rock music.

Alex Chilton influenced many bands we like…some great riffs but uneven.

Trippy 90s metal pop…some good hooks.

Solid blues rock…they are probably great live.

Pick the influence: Beatles or Queen or Bowie or Talking Heads or Tears for Fears, etc

Important and influential…not all of the music holds up but the power of her work is still there.

I liked it better than I thought I might…uneven still but the good stuff is really good!!

Good Golly Miss Molly and Penthouse Pauper are terrific, blistering and high energy. Some are duller but they do rock.

Wild and undisciplined proto punks…kick out the jam m’fers indeed!

Johnny Marr is awesome but I just cannot get past Morrisey’s whining.

I got a peaceful easy feeling listening to this album!

The perfect record…I hear it still as I heard it the first time I listened.

It has always sounded nostalgic to me. Music of a time and place...some good tunes but not timeless.

Kind of average 90s pop rock…couple of good songs in there.

The Byrds Sweetheart of the Rode is fantastic…this is where Uncle Tupelo, Whiskey Town, Drive By Truckers, and all of their offshoots are from!

Some great stuff some silly stuff…not their best but, hey, it’s the Beatles!!

Sly was probably the first R & B artist that I knew and liked…great stuff.

Never really warmed to this group.

I still think Smells Like Teen Spirit is a rip off of More Than A Feeling

I really like VH…straddled the pop heavy metal line better than anyone. Roth is is a great front man and Eddie is a true virtuoso. Some great songs on this album.

Like the Pixies…some good stuff with a lot of mediocre.

They can be fun and they can be ponderous…but they are unique!

Great chroniclers of the transition of postwar England. Some great songs, some that are time pieces.

This music always has a tinge of nostalgia. Gauzy memory flashbacks in holiday movies, etc.

Echo’s influence in the 1980s was quite broad. Dorm music!!

I came to the Allman Brothers party a little late but I am enjoying the vibe. Terrific blues rock with a cool country roll.

Reminds me of our misspent youth…overwrought and dramatic…fantastic!

Reminds me of riding in my parents station wagon as a kid…still hear some of this on Mom’s Muzak station in her car!

Dirty guitars, raucous rock, pure fun and energy!

Two amazing songs bookend a mix of country and blues songs. The classics make an okay record great.

Quintessential 80s…What Have I Done to Deserve This is a classic.

I have a friend who would fly all over the country to see Leonard Cohen…I couldn’t and can’t get into his music.

Criminal is a fantastic song.

She is very good in the genre…I just don’t love the genre!!

Never was a huge fan of his...good social commentary but can't listen for long stretches!!
