Popular Reviews

Elephant by The White Stripes

Surprise! Blues album! Never thought about it but really enjoyed it.

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead

Some of the tracks were a bit long, but just fantastic music.

Oh my gosh the length! Listening one side at a time haha. (Not true actually, the album is engaging and ended up marathoning it.) In The Cage kicks ass. Also enjoyed Hairless Heart and Counting Out Time. And an incredible closer in "It". Story is wild, but would have to relisten to fully appreciate.

The Blueprint by JAY Z
Aug 23 2025

Renegade was the best track by far. A lot of the lyrics fall flat here, and the production is boring.

Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen
Aug 26 2025

All pretty enjoyable to listen to, but "Prove It Through the Night" and the title track kick ass. Wonderful ending. 3.75

Killing Joke by Killing Joke
Aug 28 2025

Deserving of a Relisten after learning more about punk and "post punk"

Aug 29 2025

Every tune was grooving with a great rhythm. Really noticing the synthetic drums and very inspired by them.

Elephant by The White Stripes
Aug 30 2025

Surprise! Blues album! Never thought about it but really enjoyed it.

Savane by Ali Farka Touré
Aug 31 2025

While it all sounded pleasant, nothing really caught my ear.

The Grand Tour by George Jones
Sep 04 2025

Not for me, and didn't really enjoy. Fine singing and guitar playing for those who do though, and can hear how it's important.

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Sep 05 2025

Some of the tracks were a bit long, but just fantastic music.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Sep 06 2025
Sep 10 2025

Very forgettable but also with a poor mix that was a little painful to listen to at times.

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
Sep 11 2025

Great representation of the Basie sound with some killer solos from Lockjaw Davis. But honestly this one was probably picked for the sick album art.

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Sep 12 2025

Fantastic from start to finish.

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Sep 20 2025

I was initially put off by the title track but the rest of the album is wonderful. The repetitive lyrics sometimes work and sometimes don't but I appreciate the style.

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground
Sep 21 2025

After hearing about the Velvet Underground for years and never listening, this was extremely disappointing as a first album. Murder Mystery was the best track by far and the only reason this isn't a 2.

Horses by Patti Smith

Some of the drum and guitar grooves are an interesting skeleton, but then everything on top seems designed to sound as irritating as possible (singer, lead guitar tones, random extra noise). Somehow this is the worst thing Ice Cube has ever been part of, even counting Amazon's War of the Worlds.

Histoire De Melody Nelson by Serge Gainsbourg
Dec 15 2025

Nice string arrangements cannot justify the absolutely repulsive concept of this record. Even the album cover is borderline CSAM. Anyone who enjoys this record should be placed on a watchlist honestly...
