1001 Albums Summary

Soft / elevator music

Funny, 2 or 3 amazing songs and the whole album is but still I find it hard to rate it higher than 3.5 stars. I guess it’s good, but it’s not a album you put on and go (actively) listen too. Most songs are perfect just as background music.

Wow, so the Dire Straits are/were actually good!

Not bad but also nothing to be excited by. Not top 1001 material.

Never knew hip-hop could be so boring, extra shocking since Kanye (f*ck 2025/26 Kanye) produced this. Dad hip hop

Listened to this album yesterday and now I can't remember anything about the music.. And I think that says it all about this album. I do remember thinking it was not bad as a lot of people in the review section think it is, I actually had one of the band songs on my Spotify favorites! But I was also thinking it's not top 1001 material. I will be playing this album for myself again though! Wanted to give it 3/5 stars, but since I already forgot all about this album I will give is 2(.5)/5.

Starts amazing, first half is great. Second half is extremely mediocre for some reason.

Not that familiar with country although I do appreciate classic country and Townes van Zandt. This album is not bad, but it does get a bit boring and repetitive after a while.

Repetitive, nothing really that special. Why is this album on this list?

Sounds like a sarcastic soundtrack. (First song is a classic though)

Oh man this is great, I did play God Only Knows as our wedding song so I am not that objective. I haven’t listened to the whole album a lot before so this was a nice chance to do that again again. It does sounds a bit dated but for me that’s not a problem. The sounds is so fun, it brings that 60’s positivity in your room. Not for every occasion but a great album nonetheless!

Wow this is great! Not sure why this is so hated here.. Perhaps not one of the best (1001) albums ever made but nonetheless great 80’s album!

Not garbage

Plenty of good tracks, but also some really annoying ones.

Boring

Expected worse. Yes extremely dated but after a weak start soms great songs start to come up.

Starts interesting but somehow got me annoyed after a few songs. Guess the bad lyrics are the main reason I don’t like this.

Something to put on when my 60+ year old parents visit. And then everyone will enjoy it.

Bored out by the Who. (And I love classic rock!)

I don’t fucking hate the Eagles, I just find them too mediocre to care.

Surprisingly decent. First time listening to Kiss, not really understanding the hate.

Disappointing, with a dreadful rendition of No woman no cry. I will stick with the Greatest Hit album when listening to Bob Marley ✌️

Influential but shit. Like I read somewhere here it sounds like a Donkey Kong rap soundtrack.

Chill album, will definitely listen to this again.

Pop/rocky songs are nice, first two so gs are great. But the rest is just mid, and his ballads are terrible. You hear here that his voice is not that great.

Temu version of MF DOOM. My first 1 star rating after 100+ albums.

When people say music in the eighties sucked they mean this kind of music.

Guessed this right in the 90’s and 00’s. Korn sucks.

You can hear the potential but it’s not coming out on this album. Boring as can be.
