I like other Mile Davis Songs/Albums, that's why I'm surprised I didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would. The trumpet is lovely though and I like the bass line in the middle and end of In a silent way. Felt more like a 2/5 at first (tho it is more like a 2,5 but not quite a 3/5), but the trumpet and bass line, as well as the atmosphere at the end safed it to a 3.
I might have a more positive view, when I revisit.
It's ok, a bit over 3 but not a 4.
Paper Planes is the big hit here. The rest is very creative and unique and I like it for that, I probably won't really listen to the other songs though.
it's a low 4, more like a 3.X rounded up
Would listen to it again, but nothing really outstanding about it, from my perspective
Nothing too outstanding. The sudden rap part in Epic took me by surprise tho
I like this kinda odd music but I'm just not big fan of most live albums, there was nothing too outstanding to make up for it. That combined with the length probably keeps me from listening to it again anytime soon.
Mother Nature and I ain't got nothin we're unexpected bangers
Classic, Better than 4 stars but just not quite 5/5. I might change this rating later on tho...
Somewhere between 3 and 4, but not a 4
A lot of good songs, but feels all over the place from time to time. For me, it kind of lacks the structure/"identity" I expect from a 5/5 album. Probably slightly above 4, but not the full 5/5.
There were songs with a nice little jazzy/swingy vibe to it, others really were just background OST songs and some were straight up unpleasant to listen to. The few nice songs could by times really belong in almost a 4 Star category but the others just pulled down the album rating so much
Nothing really outstanding for me, but nothing particularly wrong with it
I like Prince, but the crying and moaning women irritated me :(
Album itself is rufffly a 4 but Purple Rain lifts it up
Noise, but fun noise 4/5
I can see tho why others might give it more stars, I can see why others might give it less
Better than 3 but not 4.
The Hits here are "Girls wanna have fun" and "Time after time" which obviously slap, but the other songs can't quite keep up
Somebody said "Too much Cindy Lauper" regarding her voice and style of singing.
The Doors are kinda weird for me, they have the potential to be a hit for me, but it just doesn't do much for me. I think the only Doors song I really feel is People are Strange.
I really enjoyed the vibe of Indian Summer tho
The first one I give a 1/5 to. One or two songs in this style are fine and quite interesting but 22 Songs? 1 hour? 1 hour of non special guitar songs with mumbling, sounding like a drunk is just way too long. Thought about giving 2/5 because some songs were fine but it was just way worse than the other 2 star songs I already have
I like the usage of instruments that are not often used in bands like the strings and the brass instruments.
It's nothing too special tho
It's ok, you have to like Björk and even then it's pretty long and a lot of Björk
Brilliant. More a low 5, it wouldn't be a 10/10 but it is closer to a 5/5 than to a 4/5
Low 3, pretty basic overall but had some interesting sounds in-between
High 4/5 but not quite 5/5. The Thriller -> Beat It -> Billie Jean sequence are just banger on banger but I didn't quite warm up to the other songs in this album as a whole. Maybe because the other three songs are just as big of hits that they are and therefore stand out too much compared to the other songs, the album doesn't feel as smooth as I would like a 5/5 album to be. Maybe it's just me and this rating may change (very probably only higher) in the future.
Yea this was not it, it got better at the end tho. I'm not going to revisit this any soon. Also: we get it, you can move any mountain 2/5
A low 4/5, at first it was just ok, a straight 3/5, but after a while it kind of grew more on me so as of now it's a low 4/5
