Poetic songwriting with one of my favorite songs of all time. Probably closer to 4 stars but I like lots of other bob dylan albums more.

It is popular to shit on this one, especially for people who don't like radiohead's music. I think it is a lot like some modern art museums I've been to where you can see how thought out the exhibits are, and there are cool techniques at use too, but it's all too miserable and intense at times. I'm not going to hate on a concept album that clearly has an interesting artistic perspective on violence, but about halfway through the moaning and groaning of this one I was considering moving on.

Type of CD you find buried under a bunch of stuff in the glove box.

Smile Like You Mean It is a very special song to me, but this whole album was getting played while I drove around aimlessly in the PNW. Vaguely familiar from early childhood memories but maybe not because I was two when it came out. Reminds me of wasting too much money on gas and getting nothing done outside of looking at pine trees.

I'll listen to this album 100,000 times before I die
