Sunshine Hit Me by The Bees
May 21 2026

Another block of time I'll never get back. I've gotta go with those reviews that gave it a thumbs down. Isle of Wright previous music events didn't rub off on this group.

The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden
May 21 2026

Some good Ole fashioned head banging. Dio still takes the top spot for that for me but these guys do well with the guitar riffs and vocals. Worth a listen.

Queen II by Queen
May 25 2026

Never cared for Queen since Bohemian Rapsody was the first album of theirs I heard. Perhaps I'd have listened to them more if I had heard this album first. Always thought if I wanted to hear opera I'd would have been going to see Pavarotti instead of rock concerts. This album was worth a listen and raised my view of Queen.

Jun 01 2026

Not a bad song on the album. Haven't heard it for a long time so good to hear.

Jun 05 2026

Not as good as his earlier albums but still good. It was the beginning of his move to a more pop style genre. I give this one a 4.

Mothership Connection by Parliament
Jun 09 2026

Well they ain't The Temptations of Prince but us gotta love the funk. I've always enjoyed Motown and good soul music. I wish there was more of that these daze. PARLIAMENT did a great job and painted a picture in my mind as I listened and fell funky.

Night Life by Ray Price
Jun 24 2026

Brought back memory of a louetta Lynn and Conway Twitty concert I once attended. Not sure i wanted to remember that.

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Jun 30 2026
The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Jul 02 2026

Nice voice. Some songs reminded me of the lead in songs for James Bond movies. She also threw in done disco and rap tainted songs. Was wort a listen.

Abbey Road by Beatles
Jul 03 2026

Outstanding as I remember it was when I first heard it. The Beatles had to grow on me when they became a big hit. I preferred the Stones and other lesser know British groups but each album got better as they progressed. Will always be on my listen to again list.

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary And Thyme by Simon & Garfunkel
Jul 06 2026

These two always had great harmony. It was Garfunkel that shines on this album. Makes you wonder why Paul Simon went in to have a better solo career.

Walking Wounded by Everything But The Girl
Jul 08 2026

Another artist with a nice voice but every song (with an exception of a few) the same with the beat and the synthesizer sounding music. I imagined walking into a hotel bar back in the day, and leaving after two beers cause i felt like I just smoked a pack of cigarettes.

Want Two by Rufus Wainwright
Jul 09 2026

OMG another painful experience. I read the comment about REM vocals but REM sounds like Robert Plant compared to this guy. I think sitting in a tattoo parlor listening to the electric ink pen would be more entertaining. Another of the 1001 albums not too listen to before you die cause it is harmful to your health.

Scott 4 by Scott Walker
Jul 10 2026

A variety of song topics that changed melody and instrumental backing. A balladeer songwriter along the lines of Neil Diamond. It was with a listen but not an album I'd have run out to buy back in the day or current day.

Debut by Björk
Jul 14 2026

The one song on the album "There's More To Life Than This" summed it up......

The Contino Sessions by Death In Vegas
Jul 15 2026

I kept listening thinking, hoping, that the next song would be better. Did someone use AI for Techno back in 1999? A lot of not sure what

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Jul 17 2026

I liked the early Mac, pre 1975, but as the Fleetwood Mac lineup changed, it had less of the Blues genre and sounded more pop. I did buy a copy of Tusk but it didn't get much play after that first spin. The several Nicks songs were nice listening but maybe the overplay on the radio of those songs contributed me not playing the Tusk album much after I bought it. The ladies can sing and the music is good so hearing it again is nice but it's still not destined for my turntable anytime soon.

C'est Chic by CHIC
Jul 20 2026

I felt like I needed to put my old Miami Vice jacket on and head to a disco club. Those days are long gone. Not bad listening with the instruments and singing doing a good job keeping my interest.

Songs For Swingin' Lovers! by Frank Sinatra
Jul 21 2026

Probably the best crooner of all. There is a song on this album to impress your lady in about every aspect of the pursuit. After this album ends I'm heading to the TV to pull up reruns of the Ed Sullivan show and search for the RAT pack.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jul 23 2026

A classic that is always fun to listen too. Until I saw the movie, I never realized what Bob Marley was dealing with. If you haven't seen the movie, you should.

At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash
Jul 24 2026

When growing up, my parents would enjoy listening to Johnny Cash but I didn't care for him. As life went on I would hear him pairing with other singers that I liked and began listening to him and stared hearing his stories and ballads and his songs and sound took on a new light. I can only imagine how he felt doing this album at Folsom and his those at Folsom enjoyed this concert.

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Jul 27 2026

A discussion i had with my mother about the notes on the album cover totally blew me away when she agreed that man created God in his own image. The intellectual content and the music that Ian Anderson creates in all his work is astounding and is why he's the artist that I've seen the most over the years. An outstanding album.

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Jul 28 2026

I'm combing my hair into a spike and heading out to look for a rave. Do the still have those?

Jul 29 2026

Annie Lennox has one of those voices that make you listen. Her range is incredible. Good listening.

The Modern Dance by Pere Ubu
Jul 30 2026

A rock band from Cleveland in 1975. These guys either drank a whole bottle of Jack or did a hit of blotter acid before playing. Something I would have had to do to stick around and listen to them. Happy i didn't run across this group back then.

Phrenology by The Roots
Jul 31 2026

Didn't even make it thru the first rap.

Low by David Bowie
Aug 03 2026

David Bowie has always been one of my favorites. His diversity made his music fun to listen to. I remember buying his early albums l albums and racing home to play the album and look at the album art. I was never disappointed. While this album was a different aspect compared to his early work it shows the evolution that continued to make him great.

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
Aug 04 2026

Blues has always been a favorite of mine. When I started listening to Blues, back in my younger years, my liking started out slow and then took off as many of the rock groups were playing the Blues. I then started listening more to Muddy Waters, BB King, Howlin' Wolf, and others and fell in love with the old and the new mix of the Blues. Muddy Waters was always one at the top of my listening line up. Ŵhen I would go to the Army Rec center and check out a turntable, headphones, and albums, Muddy Waters was usually in my album lineup.

Heroes to Zeros by The Beta Band
Aug 05 2026

Reading about the band, this was their final album because the lead thought it was a failure. It's worth a listen and if I we're into the club scene I'd stop in to listen to them live.

Hejira by Joni Mitchell
Aug 06 2026

Joni Mitchell is one of the top female vocalists of my generation. As she sings it's so easy to see her songs and picture the story she is telling. Starting off this album with Coyote was a treat, Always outstanding.

Elephant Mountain by The Youngbloods
Aug 07 2026

I've heard an occasional song by the Youngbloods but never listened to one of their albums. This was quite nice, good songs, melody, and harmony. I'm going to have to look for their other albums and have a listen. Very nice.

21 by Adele
Aug 10 2026

Was never an Adele fan but I enjoyed this album. The lady can sing, no doubt about that. Another unexpected good listen.

Beyond Skin by Nitin Sawhney
Aug 12 2026

Different. Not much else to say.

Pyromania by Def Leppard
Aug 13 2026

If was part of the evolution of rock and roll. Thumbs up.

Chris by Christine and the Queens
Aug 19 2026

Ain't running out to buy this album or anything else by Christine.

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
Aug 21 2026

As previously said for the Folsom album, Johnny Cash grew on me. When i heard this years ago I really didn't care for it but now I did a replay.
