If ya like fun music and ya like disco and ya like albums with big ol' tiddies on the cover then boy do I have an album for you
Black Devil, or Black Devil Disco Club, is an electronic disco music project by Bernard Fevre, a French musician who also released synthesizer compositions on library music albums under his own name and under the alias Milpatte. The first Black Devil release was the relatively obscure Disco Club six-track EP in 1978. The actual artist name and album title are ambiguous; releases, reviews, and even the official artist and label websites use "Black Devil" and "Black Devil Disco Club" interchangeably. Songwriting credits on the EP named Junior Claristidge and Joachim Sherylee, aliases for Bernard Fevre and Jacky Giordano, respectively. In a 2007 interview, Fevre explained that Giordano's role was not musical; he just financed the recordings, and the co-writing credit was a way of recouping that investment.

Ok this was cool. It's disco but it's also very offbeat. Would listen stoned. 4/5.
Black Devil Disco Club is a fine example of early electronic / disco music. It reminds me of Giorgio Moroder (and his Donna Summer hit singles). There is a lot to like.
What in the world here is a fun one. 1978 Electronic
The first track's an absolute banger & whilst the rest of the album doesn't quite touch those heights this is still an accomplished & entertaining listen. Thank you.
Synth and electro music had allowed artists to innovate on disco music in the lat '70s, especially thanks to the likes of Giorgio Moroder (not on the 1001 list). This is especially true in Europe but no so much in America, which is why the "death of disco" is really just a slight exaggeration. Regardless, this innovation on disco allowed for some more unique and unconventional explorations within the genre. Black Devil Disco Club is a weridly hypnotic, satanic disco album that invokes a strange ambiance over it's dance beat. As such, there really isn't any dance album like Black Devil Disco Club, and the fact that it was the only release under this name makes it all the more strange. Certainly a record to pique the curiosity of any collector. CONTENDER FOR THE LIST: Cool as a novelty, but not all that notable otherwise. Giorgio Moroder would make more sense to represent the euro-disco sound.
This is a good time
Really enjoyed this mix of disco and electronic feels ahead of its time, added to my frequent rotation
Rating: 8/10 Best songs: H friend, One to choose, Follow me, No regrets
What a fun curveball, there was barely any disco on the 1001 and this went to a delightfully weird, electronica-infused place I really enjoyed. Rarely say this about albums but I wish it was longer! There’s so many niche microgenres of electronica out there, and the 1001 barely managed to cover the essentials as it is – some more adds in this nature would be appreciated to liven things up a little.
Haha, nice. Sent a request to Tidal to have it added to their catalog.
Disco. Ni fu ni fa.
Not your standard disco album. It sounds a little bit more experimental.
There's an initial thrill listening to this but soon it becomes apparent a lot of the tracks are noodling fillers- more experimental electronic than Disco. Still, there are a couple of great tracks ('H Friend' and No regrets.)
Groovy baby
I didn’t like the artwork but quite liked the music - until the music didn’t change throughout the whole album.
