First Listen. Each song is so repetitive it is like listening to the same 10 seconds over and over again. 2/5 Standouts: Around the World, Da Funk
Much better than expected. Never heard of these guys before, but glad I got a chance to hear their music. 2/5
Sounded better with headphones on, couple of good songs (for me). Probably need to listen to it again to start to appreciate it. It didn't grab me on first listen.
Nice! My kind of Punk Rock! I can see myself listening to this one again.
David Watts - English Rose - Guitar Balad When I heard this album, I immediately wanted all of their albums.
Love this album. Classic. Haven't heard it in many years...does it hold up? Did not recognize most songs. It was pretty decent though.
Familiar sounds reminiscent of Paul Simon's Graceland Album - As it should...
Sounds like Oasis or maybe Oasis sounds like them. Good sound anyways.
Pale Blue Eyes, Candy Says, and After Hours - Three GREAT Tracks.
Of course Child in Time is a CLASSIC. Also loved Black Night. The rest was very good. My kind of rock.
Interesting album. The best song on the album is, of course, Paper Planes. It is one of the best songs of the decade. Other than that, I don't find much of the rest really appeals to me.
Good country album. Stand outs: Streets of Bakersfield, title track,
I am a fan. First Radiohead I've listened to and liked. It makes me want to listen to their other stuff again. Maybe Kid A and OK Computer are actually good. Can't wait to check them out again. Great songs on this album start to finish.
Big Pink Floyd fan. I got their first few albums years ago and ... they were different than Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, Meddle, Atom Heart Mother.... it really has taken me a long time to appreciate the earlier Pink Floyd. This was their first. The more I listen to it the more I like it. It is definitely an experience. This one is more enjoyable played LOUD with the headphones on. Stand out songs: Astronomy Domine. Matilda Mother Flaming Pow R. Toc H. Intersteller Overdrive. The Gnome Bike
Never heard of this before... a new experience. I did read that Jah Wobble was a guitarist from PIL, so I did have some expectations.... Visions of you. I recognized Sinead O'Connor right away. Radio-worthy track. Relight the flame has a familiar quality. It made me think of Robbie Robertson. The song feels right. I consider it a standout. Bomba...what language is that? Spanish? It's nice. Rising Above Bedlam got me with the drums...the spoken lyrics...Robbie Robertson (feel) again... (Somewhere down that Crazy River)... Those drums in "Soledad" are, in a word: powerful! I wanted to look and see if Phil Collins was featured. The other songs seemed ok. Nothing much else stood out to me. Stand out tracks: Visions of You Relight the Flame Soledad Bomba. Overall, the album was nice to listen to. I probably won't listen to it again unless something brings me back to it ( such as it being on a list like this). It is a solid 3/5 for now.
First listen really did nothing for me. I think this is one that will need to grow on me. Standouts: Summertime Clothes. Nice mix of interesting sounds.
5/5 stars. Absolute classic. Every song. Standouts: The End, Break on Through, The Crystal Ship, Light My Fire, Back Door Man, Alabama Song, Soul Kitchen, Twentieth Century Fox, End of the Night
Hard not to like. It was nice. None of the songs really stood out to me, but I enjoyed it. I don't know why this album made the list when there are hundreds just like it. I hope to listen again but not sure if I would seek it out to listen again.
One of my favorite albums of all time. Huge Leonard Cohen fan. Standouts: Suzanne, So Long, Marianne Hey, That's no way to Say Goodbye. Master Song, Store Room (Bonus CD 2007)
I like Paul Simon. But, this one Isn't one I would listen to again. Some decent songs, but not worthy of this list.
Great background/study music for the most part. It's a nice album. I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure why it is on this list. I'll have to listen a few times more I think. In 2012, Rolling Stone ranked the album number 429 on its list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Standouts: I'll Come Running (I guess?) It's the only song that I remember after listening to the whole album.
Zero Fucking Stars. Does that offend you? Here are some lyrics from this "album" that offended me. "Every nigga is a star, ayy, every nigga is a star" "Fuck you, motherfucker, you a ho-ass nigga" "I don't want you monkey-mouth motherfuckers" "Zoom, zoom, zoom, shit" "What can I blame you for? Nigga, I can name several" "Nigga, we gon' be alright" "I don't give a fuck about no politics in rap, my nigga" "Moonshine and gin, nigga you're babblin', your words ain't flatterin'" "You're fuckin' evil. I want you to recognize that I'm a proud monkey" "Askin' "where the hoes at?" to impress me" "So I promise this, nigga" "When shit hit the fan, is you still a fan?"
Great stuff. One of their best. Have mercy! Standouts: Waitin' For the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago La Grange
This was the first album I ever listened to that I thought was perfect. Start to finish.
Two classic songs. 1st listen in many years. The rest of the album is so nice to listen to. Can't wait to listen again.
2nd listen. Really liking this album.
4/5. First listen to this album but I do know a few of the songs already. And their style is unmistakable. Favorites: If I Should Fall From the Grace of God Fairytale of New York South Australia, Fiesta Streets of Sorrow Lullaby of London
Very nice. First listen. I give it a solid 3/5 for now. I'm sure this will move up to 4 stars after I've heard it more.
2/5. The album seems fine. This was my first time hearing it. Didn't know any of the songs. The sound of the album didn't 'grab me' and none of the songs stood out to me. Of course, this is common for me when I first hear an album. There are plenty of times when the album gets better with time. So, I'm open to this one and think I could grow to like it more. Damn Herione. I hate to read when anyone talented is taken from us too soon.
2nd listen and it is growing on me. Some good songs.
2/5. I'm sure her fans love it. But, I detest everything about her diva attitude and it affects my enjoyment of the music. sorry.
First listen. Knew the one song, "Song 2" The rest seems pretty good. Like to hear more of it.
First Listen. Good Sound. 2/5 This album will only get better with more listens. 2/5 for now, but I can see it being a 3/5 or 4/5 in the near future.
First listen. Interesting African music. I did enjoy it quite a bit after listening to it all day. Very strong 2/5.
Definite Classic. Very strong 4/5. Lots of great songs. Maybe just a little bit too commercial.
First listen. I like the sound. Hard. This has potential to get better with next listens.
Very Loud, Very hard, Has a great sound, but you really have to be in the mood for this kind of music to enjoy it. First time hearing this band or the album. 2/5 for me.
First Listen 2/5. Better than expected. Surprised how much I liked it. I had heard none of these songs before.
3/5. First Listen. Very enjoyable. Fun. Standouts: Wall Street Shuffle, Worst Band in the World,, Somewhere in Hollywood, the Sacro-Iliac,
4/5. Classic Cohen, even with the 80s vibe, he still is amazing. Standouts: First We Take Manhattan, Everybody Knows, I'm Your Man, Tower of Song,
Not my first time hearing this one, but first time in quite a while. Lots of good songs. Solid 3/5.
Good stuff. Neil young makes this album so much better.
First listen. For me now it is a 2/5 May get better over time.
First Listen. Nice background music. Not much else.
First Listen. Very interesting sounds. Very nice.
First Listen: I hate bands that just have a bunch of other people's hits and don't do anything original with them. This is a 1/5 for me. This might have been great back in 1965, but now, it is just a compilation of other bands' hits. Nothing to see here folks. Next.
First Listen. Had a good vibe to the album. I'd like to hear more.
Second Listen. Gave it a 3/5 on first listen. Love the sound and vibe of this album. Very mellow and cool. Still a strong 3/5.
Know this album well. Every song is great 5/5.
First listen. I like Simple Minds, but I heard nothing special here. 2/5 for now. Maybe it get's better with time.
Second Listen. Brilliant Album. Loved it (almost every song). Standouts: Blue Moon, I'm Counting on you, I Love You Because,
Second Listen. Still not great. 2/5. A few good songs, no doubt.
Bob...they all sound the same. Always good, but I'm not a true fan. 2/5 first listen.
First listen. Must. Listen. Loud. First song Arise, kicked ass! It continues to kick ass after that. Not something I would listen to often, but when I'm in the mood....this would fit the bill. 2/5.
First listen. Two GREAT songs. The rest are good.
First Listen. Didn't know any of the songs. A few of them grew on me by the end of the day. I look forward to hearing this one again. 2/5 (for now)
First Listen. Each song is so repetitive it is like listening to the same 10 seconds over and over again. 2/5 Standouts: Around the World, Da Funk
First Listen. I knew a couple of songs. Some good stuff here. I like it. 2/5 for now.
Heard this one a million times... Great, start to finish. 5/5
First Listen. Interesting sounds. I like it and want to hear more of it. 2/5 for now.
Second listen. Better than last time I listened but only slightly. 2/5
It's fine. Good for background music. Listened to it several times today and nothing stuck. 2/5.
5/5. A classic start to finish. I can't still remember the first time I heard the entire album. I checked it (cassette) out from the library and listened to it on my walkman over and over again. Loved it. It is special.
Classic, Yes. Roundabout is one of the best songs ever. Standouts: Roundabout, Long Distance Runaround, America
First listen. Some definitely interesting sounds. I enjoyed it and look forward to hearing it again next time. 2/5 (for now).
Classic early clash. I know some of the songs well, others are new to me. 3/5
Half of the songs are GREAT. The rest are a little dated now. Great for its time though. 3/5. Help is not on the US version of the Album. We were missing something, Nice version of the Beatles classic. Standouts: Private Dancer, What's Love Got to do With It, I Can't Stand the Rain, Let's Stay Together, Help.
First listen. I *think* I've heard the band name before, but not familiar with the songs at all. Immediately, loved the sound of the album. Kept listening back-to-back. Loved the sound and feeling of it. Can't wait to listen to it again. This is one of my favorite new first listens. So many great songs. 3/5 (for now)
First Listen. Not bad. Like to hear more. Not sure yet. Standouts: Kowalski, Star 2/5
I remember listening to this all the time when it came out. Epic was great. Listening to it now. I don't remember any of the songs, except Epic. It's good for the type of music. Epic songs: Epic :) Other good songs; Falling to Pieces 2/5
First Listen. This album is better when played loud. Standouts: Stop, Been Caught Stealing, Three Days 2/5
Such a good album. I haven't heard this one in a long time and some of the songs I've forgotten, so it's almost like hearing them for the first time. 3/5 maybe close to 4/5
Second Listen. Good Stuff. 3/5 still getting to know this album.
Always liked this album. Not quite as good as Rumours or Mirage, but good nonetheless. 4/5
First Listen. After listening to it several times, none of the songs stand out to me. Doesn't mean it is bad, it just needs more time for me. For now, I'll give it a 2/5.
Second listen. 2/5 first time. Such a mix of different styles throughout the album. It's kind of distracting. Buffalo Gals is definitely semi-classic. The scathing was definitely the thing back in the early 80s. Double Dutch seems like a good island calypso song. Someday this might be more than 2/5 for me, but not today.
First listen. Heard of him before, don't know the songs at all. 2/5. I like the sampling. Need time to know the songs. The language is a huge negative for me.
Truly a great album for its time. A little dated style now, but very enjoyable. 3/5.
I know it is a classic, but this was my first time really listening to it. 3/5
I like their version of I Don't Want to Talk About It, the rest of the album is nice, but nothing else stood out on first listen.
First listen. Better than expected. Definitely good background music. 2/5
Love this album. First listen. So smooth, relaxing and cool. It is excellent to have on in the background, but it is also more than just background music. I need more of this music in my life.
First Listen. Heard a couple of the songs before. This is a very talented group of singers. Lauren Hill and Wyclef are masters. Killing Me Softly is a great version of a great song. Roberta Flack's will always be the best version for me though. Overall, there are some good songs, I need more time to get to know it. 2/5 for now.
I have heard this album at least a hundred times as I play it before going to bed at night. It is so relaxing and tranquil. I will admit, the first time I heard it, I was really wondering why this would be on a list like this....now I know. If you feel the same - give it a chance. It is really difficult to rate with stars though. I can't put it on the same level as most of the other albums that I love... I will give it a respectable 3/5.
First Listen. Really interesting. Need to hear more of this.
Fantastic. Some real classics and the rest are very good. Classics: Freebird, Tuesday's Gone, Gimme Three Steps.
First Listen. I know the song Rooster from before the rest was new. It seems ok.
First Listen. Very interesting album. Some very good songs. Standouts: Locked Inside, Sir Greendown. 3/5
First listen. Wish it was my last. Oh this is a painful album to listen to. It isn't good. I don't get it. I really gave this album a chance... I can't say that I enjoyed even one song. For me, this is 1/5.
Second Listen. I enjoy some of the songs. Stand out tracks: I Know it's Over. Bigmouth Strikes Again, The Boy with The Thorn in His Side.
First Listen. Ok. I know quite a few of the songs, but never really listened to the whole album. It is pretty good. 3/5
First listen. Temptations are good. Just an old style that isn't that listenable today as it was before. Still a good album. 2/5
First listen. Never heard of them before. When I first listened to it I thought is simple and a little boring. But, after a few more times, the music really grew on me. I appreciate the mood and feeling of the album. It makes me want to listen to more by this band. 3/5.
Definitely a different sound that other Beach Boys albums. Very enjoyable. 3/5
Heard this album many times. It has some great classics the rest of the songs are fine. For me it's just a 3/5. Standouts: Wouldn't it Be Nice, Sloop John B, God Only Knows,
Second listen. Growing on me. Enjoying the drum beats. 3/5
I think these songs will take more time to enjoy. Kind of a strange album.
First listen. Seems ok, but after listening all day none of the songs are sticking with me. Maybe next time. 2/5.
Much better than expected. Never heard of these guys before, but glad I got a chance to hear their music. 2/5
First Listen. Three of the songs are very familiar, the rest, I definitely enjoyed. Standouts: Alison, Angels Want to Wear My Red Shoes, Watching the Detectives. 3/5
I heard nothing in this album that made me think that it belongs on this list. 2/5
3rd listen. First few times I heard this album, I thought it was just ok, but over time, during these past several months, I have grown to really enjoy the album. 4/5.
someday maybe I will appreciate the music of Bob Dylan, but not today.
Loved this when it came out. It is still great. Standouts: The Real Slim Shady, Stan, The Way I am, Kill You, Kim, Marshall Mathers, Under the Influence. 4/5
Leonard's Swan Song. According to folklore, swans sing most beautifully before they die, and hence this phrase came to be used to describe someone who was leaving in style. Wonderful album. 4/5.
She's talented for sure, but not my style. 2/5.
Pretty loud. A lot of the songs are the same, but not bad. 2/5 Ace of Spades is best song.
There are a few special songs on this album. I needed this today.
Never heard of her before. This was a great experience. There are a couple of songs on here that I absolutely loved - The Naughty Little Flea and One More Dance. Her version of the House of the Rising Sun was very good (four years before the Animals made it iconic). The African songs are nice, and I think that Lakutshn Ilanga was my favorite. Standouts: One More Dance, The Naughty Littel Flea, Lakutshn Illanga, Where Does it Lead, House of the Rising Sun. Glad I got a chance to get to know your music Mama Africa. 3/5
Takes me back to high school. I remember listening to this tape over and over again on my walkman. Classic.
What a great, relaxing album. Very enjoyable. First time I've heard it. 3/5
It was great when It came out. I don't feel the same love I had for it back then, now. It is still good though. 3/5.
First Listen. Started really enjoying it by the end of the day. It is a good, quality album.
Not much of a Byrds fan. This is just ok for me. 2/5
The first song, Time Traveling, gave me hope for this album. But, the rest of the album was a letdown. Better than To Pimp a Butterfly though. At least this one is listenable. 2/5
It's fine for what it is and when it came from. Half of the songs are still very listenable. 3/5
Really don't like the album cover but the music is good. 3/5. Second time listening and a few of the songs are growing on me.
A few great songs and the others seem pretty good too. 3/5
A couple of classics and the rest are pretty good. Nice to listen to. Like to hear more of this one. Standouts: Joan of Arc (Maid of Orleans), Souvenir. Joan of Arc. Others: She's Leaving, 3/5
Excellent. 4/5 Standouts: School, Bloody Well Right, Dreamer Others: Hide in Your Shell, Asylum, Rudy, Crime of the Centrury.
2nd listen. First time I gave it 1/5 because it was kind of boring. On this listen, I think it is slightly better, but still not more than just background music. 2/5
Couple of great songs, some good ones and a couple strange ones... Nice. Like to hear more of it. 2/5 for now.
That boy needs therapy! I am not a big fan of the Genre, but this one is good - maybe even - really good! I knew the song "Frontier Psychiatrist" from when I lived in Europe back in those days. It's a Gem. The album is really interesting with its use of loops and samples. Definitely the best electronica album on this list (so far). 3/5
2nd Listen. Standouts: Breaking Down, It's the Truth, No Peace For The Wicked. From the bonus material: Peter and the Pets 2 of 5. but it has potential
The classic "Stay with Me" is the iconic song from the album. The rest isn't bad either. I prefer the songs that feature Rod Stewart on lead vocals. A strong classic rock album. Standouts: Stay with Me, Love Lives Here Others: Miss Judy's Farm, You're So Rude 3/5
Classic. The whole "First side" of the album is amazing. That side alone is a 5/5. The rest of the album is good too. Standouts: Iron Man, War Pigs, Paranoid Others; Planet Caravan
Jamiroquai is definitely a talented band with a unique sound. I really want to like it more than I do, the songs just don't connect with me. Maybe it will grow on me later.... 2.5 / 5 for now.
1st listen I can't tell if the album is good or just annoying. I like a few of the songs, I think I need more time getting to know it. 2.5/5
One of my favorites. 5/5 I love every song. The extended version has a couple of extras that were included on soundtrack albums (Heavy Metal and Bright Lights Big City).
4.5/5. So many great songs. This was the album that made me - and I'm sure many other pay attention to the new an unique band. Yes, they had a couple albums before this one, but I never heard them and never heard of the White Stripes until this one came out. I loved it, the first time I heard it back then and it has only gotten better with age!
First Listen. Interesting sound. Funk, jazz, Latin, rock, hip hop, world fusion all in one album. I mostly liked it. Standouts: Saturday Night 3/5
It's very good. What else can you say. 3/5
An all-time classic. Definitely, one of the best albums ever made. 5/5. I remember the first time I heard Money when it came out. It was like nothing I ever heard of before. When I got older I heard the rest of the album and it blew me away.
I like the Cure. Never heard this one though. None of the songs really stood out to me. I am sure it takes time to get, so I'll definitely give it more listens. For now though it is a 2/5.
I definitely feel a jazz influence on this album. I think the second track, Freedom Rider, especially makes me think of the Thelonious Monk album, Brilliant Corners. The album overall is very nice. I enjoyed it. Standouts: Freedom Rider, Empty Pages, John Barleycorn, 3.5/5
I really enjoyed Scott 4 so I thought this would be about the same. I did enjoy it but it really took several listens before I started coming around. There are some really good tracks: Next, Jackie, Plastic Palace People. "The Girls and the Dogs" is quite brilliant. All the rest of the songs are very nice. I'd really like to get to know this album much more in the future. 3/5
3/5. Borrowed Tune is a 5/5. The rest of the album is pretty good.
First time hearing this album. Besides Golden Years, I don't any of the other songs. I really like the Bowie albums that I know.... Since this is a new one for me it might take a few more listens to really enjoy. 2/5 for now. Standouts: Golden Years. Others:: Wild is the Wind.
5/5. As much as I hate to admit it, this is a great album. NO, it is not in the same league as some others that I have given a 5/5 rating to, but It IS deserving of it.
Outstanding. Love their sound. Need to hear more of this. 3/5.
Better than I was expecting. His original version of Leave Your Hat on is so toned down compared to the Joe cocker remake, but still nice to hear. 3/5
Really enjoyed it for the type of music it is. It's like Perry Como or Andy Williams - people that are good, but I don't often listen to. Every song on the album quickly felt familiar and comfortable to me. I enjoyed it. 4/5.
Pretty great. 3.5/5 If you haven't read the Beatie Boys Book, I highly recommend it. It is interesting from start to finish. I listened to it on audible and it was even better with them reading it. This album is really good. I'd give it a higher score if I knew it better. I've listened to it several times and am still getting to know it. There are so many different sounds and styles throughout the album. It really is something interesting to listen to. I think people either love the Beastie Boys or hate them. If you are a hater, then I'd recommend getting to know them better. Their lyrics are quite intelligent (at times). Sometimes simplistic - going back to Licenced to Ill..... Standouts: Sabotage.
New albums shouldn’t be on this list. It takes time to determine if an album is worthy or just a fad. Never heard of her, never heard the album. I hate spoken interludes… The music was nice. I have no issues with any of the songs. 2/5.
It's a decent album, but not really into her voice or sound. I like her version of Moody's Mood For Love. 3/5
4/5. From start to finish, it is packed with great songs. I know this album well. Love it.
It really is very good from start to finish. Solid 4/5. Standouts: Mrs. Robinson, At the Zoo, America, Fakin' it, A Hazy Shade of Winter, Old Friends.
A true classic Classic Rock album. Songs I know well and are great: Walk this Way, Sweet Emotion. Other songs I know and are really good: Big Ten Inch, Toys in the Attic. Best of the rest: No More No More, You See Me Crying. 4/5
"Lyrics" 0/5. Music and style 4/5. Too bad he finds it so necessary to include such deplorable words in his rap. Overall 2/5.
Never heard of these guys. It has a very easy to like sound. I definitely enjoyed it and want to hear more of it.
Great album. I liked it the first time I heard it last year. It just keeps getting better. Interesting sound. I'm glad this album was on this list so I got to know it. 4/5
Ugh. I can imagine this was good back in 1970, but not so much now. 2/5
I listened to it, didn't think it was anything amazing, but it wasn't too bad either. I think if I were more familiar with it I would like it. I'd add this one to my list of albums to hear again. I've heard of the band but never heard any of the music. 3/5
It's a good album. I'd have to say that I think it is just too much. Never heard of these guys before, but I enjoyed it. It just kept going on endlessly... 3/5.
A great album. The more I've listened to it the more I enjoy it. So many great songs. Standouts: Changes, Life on Mars? Other greats: Oh you Pretty Things, Kooks, Queen Bitch 4/5
Ok, I know that Frank Zappa isn't for everybody, but those that like him enjoy this album. If you don't like him, you probably haven't heard enough to get to know him. This isn't one of my favorite Zappa albums, but I do enjoy it. I think Hungry Freaks, Daddy is a great opening song. I almost feel like it's a rip off of the Rolling Stones but still very good. I Ain't Got No Heart... to give away. Girl, you better go away. :) Who Are the Brain Police? I love the cadence of the song. Go Cry on Somebody's Else's Shoulder. A bit too much 50's doo-wop for me. But, it's enjoyable. 50s style with lyrics that are not what you would hear in a 50's doo wop ballad! I like Motherly Love as well. Good message. How Could I Be Such a Fool? Again, heartbreak. What was he going through when this album was written. I personally don't know him well enough to know but he definitely seems jaded. Wowie Zowie... eh, ok... the cheesy chorus isn't for me, but the rest of the song is acceptable. You Didn't Try to Call Me. Tell me who's loving you now? cos it worries my mind - I can't sleep at all... I think we have all been THERE. Especially guys... She didn't try to call. Why? Doesn't she think of me the way I'm thinking of her? No.... she's moved on... Dudes need to get over it! Anyway the Wind Blows. It's just a good song...short and to the point. I'm Not Satisfied. A bit of Zappa humor in this one. No love left to give... Haven't we heard that before? Wait, what about the... it sounds like Hungry Freaks, Daddy again... ok, maybe not.. but, maybe... :) You're Probably Wondering Why. So am I. LOL. YEAH. Ok, this song has no real melody at times, then it does... That's Zappa. Is that a Kazoo I hear? why, yes it is! Trouble Every Day. Probably the one song that is just there. At least for me. Hello I'm a Rock / It Can't Happen (Suite in Three Movements). This is what Zappa is all about. Those jazz-rock-related, long drawn-out pieces of interesting sounds and lyrics.... Just enjoy it. And yes, the Zappa continues with " The Return of the Son of Monster" Go with the flow...enjoy it. The first half of the album is more memorable than the second half but the entire project is such an experience. Glad I got to spend the day listening to it! 3.5/5 (what did you expect a 5/5?)
First time hearing this one. I love Radiohead's The Bends album. This might be my 2nd favorite. We'll have to see. Great sounds throughout the album. 3.5/5
When I first started listening, I thought, Ok...one good song. But, as the day went on I really started enjoying it more. 1979 is right when I was first getting into music, but I was never a Chic fan, so It took this long for me to finally hear it. I can definitely see this being a very hot album in 1979. Standouts: Good Times. Best of the Rest: The other six songs on the album. 3.5/5
Pretty great. But, Morrissy's voice can get annoying after a while. I still like it though! Standouts: Girlfriend in a Coma. Unhappy Birthday, Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before. Others: I Started Something I Couldn't Finish. Death of a Disco Dancer, I won't Share You. I've come to wish you an unhappy birthday Cause you're evil And you lie And if you should die I may feel slightly sad (But I won't cry) Brutal... :) Love it. 4/5
Brilliant. 4/5 Standouts: Black Magic Woman, Oye como Va, Samba Pa Ti, Hope You're Feeling Better.
Really good, older Beatles album. I am not a fan of most of the cover songs (except for Till There was You) but overall the album is quite excellent. Standouts: All My Loving, It Won't Be Long, Till There Was You. Others: Don't Bother Me, Little Child, All I've Got to Do, Devil in Her Heart, Not a Second Time, and Hold Me Tight. Could have done without: Please Mr. Postman, Roll Over Beethoven, You Really Got A Hold On Me and Money (That's What I Want). 4.5/5
First listen. I’ve heard the Tigermilk album before because of this list. I think this one has a better vibe.
Interesting and enjoyable. Not really familiar with it yet. I think I'd like it more after I hear it a few more times. 2.5/5 for now
Loved it! 3.5 of 5. The album starts out strong with four really great songs. The rest are pretty good too. Standouts: Hot Topic, What's Yr Take on Cassavetes, Deceptacon, The The Empty, My My Metrocard, Phanta, Friendship Station Left me wanting more.
I can appreciate that people LOVE Bob Dylan. He's ok for me. Kind of the same sound for every song, every album. I listened to this one a few times, it is worth listening to, but don't think I'd ever go back to it again. Glad I got the chance to hear it. 3/5
Who really wants to listen to ignorant people acting angry, shooting guns, calling each other Nigga.? The music and style is actually good, it is just all the extreme content that really ruins this album. 1/5
A Perfect Rock Album. 5/5 Classics: Back in Black, You Shook Me All Night Long, Hells Bells Greats: Shake a Leg, Shoot to Thrill, Given the Dog a Bone, What Do YOu Do For Money Honey, Have a Drink on Me. Far Above Average: Let Me Put My Love Into You, Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution. Favorite Line: "Let me cut your cake with my knife" - Let Me Put My Love Into You.
Mostly just typical 60s pop-rock with a few standout tracks. Classics: None Standouts: Kicks, I"m Not Your Stepping Stone, All I Really Need is You, Melody for an Unknown Girl Very Good: Little Girl in the 4th Row, Take A Look at Yourself 3 / 5
A lot of great songs on this one. Standouts: Maggy May, Mandolin Wind, (I Know) I'm Losing You, Every Picture Tells a Story, Seems Like a Long Time, (Find a) Reason to Believe. The album would be rated higher without That's All Right/Amazing Grace. I think they are awkward in the flow of the album. 4/5
Very good. 4 / 5 Classic: Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll Standouts: Wake Up and Make Love With Me, Sweet Gene Vincent, My Old Man, Clevor Trever,
Really Great! 4.5 / 5 Classics: Killer Queen, Brighton Rock Others: Lilly of the Valley, Now, I'm Here, Bring Back Leroy Brown, In the Lap of the Gods, Stone Cold Crazy
4.5 Classic 7 Classics! Foxy Lady, Fire, Hey Joe, Are You Experienced?, Manic Depression, Purple Haze and the Wind Cries Mary. The rest of the songs are just damn good - including May This Be Love, I Didn't Live Today, Third Stone From the Sun, Stone Free and Love or Confusion,
Bizzare album. Not everyone's cup of tea... Not sure it is mine either, but I did enjoy listening to it more than expected. 2/5
Surprisingly good. I’m usually not interested in Spanish music, but this was different. 3/5
First impression: Sounds like Hendrix...second impression: sounds like the Who. So, they get a zero for originality. LOL. The music was nice though. I'm not a fan of cover songs, and the first two songs right off the bat are covers... The original stuff on the album is fine, but nothing special to me.
Really great sound. Never heard of this guy before. At times it sounds like pink Floyd…other times Alan Parson Project. Whatever it is I like it. Will definitely listen to This one again. 3/5
2.5. First time hearing this band. I liked it and want to hear more.
Some pretty nice songs. Heard of this guy but never heard any of his music. Might take some more time to appreciate this one better. 2.5/5 for now.
5/5 From start to finish it is one great song after another.
It's Madonna. She can do no wrong... 3/5 This is an album by her that I really don't know very well, but it is really good.
3.5/5 First time hearing the album. Very good, as usual from Bob Marley. Standouts: Stir it Up, High Tide or Low Tide (Bonus Track).
Never heard of Ash. For the first time listening it was very enjoyable. 2.5/5 for now.
Just ok for me. Nothing bad, just not my kind of music and nothing stood out. I was expecting to hear the "Fuck You" song, but guess that was from a different album. Shame.
Oh boy…. Another one of these faux music albums…. It isn’t horrible, but seriously…did I really need to hear THIS before I die? 2/5.
It’s ok. I really don't like the remakes of Listen to the Music or Summer Breeze. Those are just to iconic for me to enjoy anyone singing them. The rest is pretty good though. 3/5
2.5 / 5. Not bad for a first listen. I can definitely get into this one. need to hear it more though.
It's another Bob Dyan album... how exciting..... (yawn).
4/5. Can't go wrong with James Brown. Classic.
Never heard of Big Star. The album is nice though. Best tracks: Femme Fatale, Thank You Friends, Big Black Car, Holocaust, Kanga Roo, Till the End of the Day,
Such an interesting sound. Bjork is very unique! Birthday is really great. Motorcrash isn't bad either. I can get into this, but it might take a few more listens.
There are some really great songs, but many of the others are just dated. Standouts: Living on a Prayer, You Give Love a Bad Name, Wanted Dead or Alive, Never Say Goodbye. 3.5/5
