Christine and the QueensI heard nothing in this album that made me think that it belongs on this list. 2/5
I heard nothing in this album that made me think that it belongs on this list. 2/5
Uh, what was that?
The ultimate Bob Marley album. Ok, I might have said that about more than one of his albums. He's pretty good you know! Standouts: Exodus, Waiting in Vain, Three Little Birds, Jammin', One Love, People Get Ready. Three Little Birds has been "my song" for as long as I can remember. I play it whenever I am feeling in a pinch. I always remember what Bob says, "Don't Worry - bout a thing - Every little thing will be alright". And it always is. 4.5/5
strangely haunting and beautiful music. Her voice is unique and I am sure the style was fresh when this was released in 1967. 4/5
One of my favorites. 5/5 I love every song. The extended version has a couple of extras that were included on soundtrack albums (Heavy Metal and Bright Lights Big City).
Sounded better with headphones on, couple of good songs (for me). Probably need to listen to it again to start to appreciate it. It didn't grab me on first listen.
Nice! My kind of Punk Rock! I can see myself listening to this one again.
David Watts - English Rose - Guitar Balad When I heard this album, I immediately wanted all of their albums.
Love this album. Classic. Haven't heard it in many years...does it hold up? Did not recognize most songs. It was pretty decent though.
Familiar sounds reminiscent of Paul Simon's Graceland Album - As it should...
Sounds like Oasis or maybe Oasis sounds like them. Good sound anyways.
Classic. Know it well. Love it.
Pretty great album. Would listen again.
C L A S S I C
Pale Blue Eyes, Candy Says, and After Hours - Three GREAT Tracks.
Of course Child in Time is a CLASSIC. Also loved Black Night. The rest was very good. My kind of rock.
Interesting album. The best song on the album is, of course, Paper Planes. It is one of the best songs of the decade. Other than that, I don't find much of the rest really appeals to me.
100% rocks!
Good country album. Stand outs: Streets of Bakersfield, title track,
nigga this, nigga that...no thanks.
CLASSIC! Five stars all the way.
I am a fan. First Radiohead I've listened to and liked. It makes me want to listen to their other stuff again. Maybe Kid A and OK Computer are actually good. Can't wait to check them out again. Great songs on this album start to finish.
Big Pink Floyd fan. I got their first few albums years ago and ... they were different than Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, Meddle, Atom Heart Mother.... it really has taken me a long time to appreciate the earlier Pink Floyd. This was their first. The more I listen to it the more I like it. It is definitely an experience. This one is more enjoyable played LOUD with the headphones on. Stand out songs: Astronomy Domine. Matilda Mother Flaming Pow R. Toc H. Intersteller Overdrive. The Gnome Bike
Never heard of this before... a new experience. I did read that Jah Wobble was a guitarist from PIL, so I did have some expectations.... Visions of you. I recognized Sinead O'Connor right away. Radio-worthy track. Relight the flame has a familiar quality. It made me think of Robbie Robertson. The song feels right. I consider it a standout. Bomba...what language is that? Spanish? It's nice. Rising Above Bedlam got me with the drums...the spoken lyrics...Robbie Robertson (feel) again... (Somewhere down that Crazy River)... Those drums in "Soledad" are, in a word: powerful! I wanted to look and see if Phil Collins was featured. The other songs seemed ok. Nothing much else stood out to me. Stand out tracks: Visions of You Relight the Flame Soledad Bomba. Overall, the album was nice to listen to. I probably won't listen to it again unless something brings me back to it ( such as it being on a list like this). It is a solid 3/5 for now.
First listen really did nothing for me. I think this is one that will need to grow on me. Standouts: Summertime Clothes. Nice mix of interesting sounds.
5/5 stars. Absolute classic. Every song. Standouts: The End, Break on Through, The Crystal Ship, Light My Fire, Back Door Man, Alabama Song, Soul Kitchen, Twentieth Century Fox, End of the Night
Hard not to like. It was nice. None of the songs really stood out to me, but I enjoyed it. I don't know why this album made the list when there are hundreds just like it. I hope to listen again but not sure if I would seek it out to listen again.
One of my favorite albums of all time. Huge Leonard Cohen fan. Standouts: Suzanne, So Long, Marianne Hey, That's no way to Say Goodbye. Master Song, Store Room (Bonus CD 2007)
I like Paul Simon. But, this one Isn't one I would listen to again. Some decent songs, but not worthy of this list.
Good study music.
Great background/study music for the most part. It's a nice album. I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure why it is on this list. I'll have to listen a few times more I think. In 2012, Rolling Stone ranked the album number 429 on its list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Standouts: I'll Come Running (I guess?) It's the only song that I remember after listening to the whole album.
Zero Fucking Stars. Does that offend you? Here are some lyrics from this "album" that offended me. "Every nigga is a star, ayy, every nigga is a star" "Fuck you, motherfucker, you a ho-ass nigga" "I don't want you monkey-mouth motherfuckers" "Zoom, zoom, zoom, shit" "What can I blame you for? Nigga, I can name several" "Nigga, we gon' be alright" "I don't give a fuck about no politics in rap, my nigga" "Moonshine and gin, nigga you're babblin', your words ain't flatterin'" "You're fuckin' evil. I want you to recognize that I'm a proud monkey" "Askin' "where the hoes at?" to impress me" "So I promise this, nigga" "When shit hit the fan, is you still a fan?"
need to listen again
Solid, slightly dated now, but I still enjoy it
Nice, Need to listen more
Pretty great. One truly classic song
not for me
He has such a great sound. Want to listen again.
It's allright.
Great stuff. One of their best. Have mercy! Standouts: Waitin' For the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago La Grange
This was the first album I ever listened to that I thought was perfect. Start to finish.
It's good.
It's good. Couple of familiar songs.
a lot of familiar songs. Not bad.
Seemed nice on first listen. Look forward to hearing it again.
it's alright. Old album.
Nice study music.
1st listen. it's pretty good.
Two classic songs. 1st listen in many years. The rest of the album is so nice to listen to. Can't wait to listen again.
2nd listen. Really liking this album.
FIVE Solid stars. Always a favorite of mine.
4/5. First listen to this album but I do know a few of the songs already. And their style is unmistakable. Favorites: If I Should Fall From the Grace of God Fairytale of New York South Australia, Fiesta Streets of Sorrow Lullaby of London
None of the songs did it for me
1st listen. Good. Really can't wait to hear it again.
Very nice. First listen. I give it a solid 3/5 for now. I'm sure this will move up to 4 stars after I've heard it more.
Meh
It's still a 4/5. Second listen.
couple good songs
What a great sound. Love this album.
2/5. The album seems fine. This was my first time hearing it. Didn't know any of the songs. The sound of the album didn't 'grab me' and none of the songs stood out to me. Of course, this is common for me when I first hear an album. There are plenty of times when the album gets better with time. So, I'm open to this one and think I could grow to like it more. Damn Herione. I hate to read when anyone talented is taken from us too soon.
2nd listen and it is growing on me. Some good songs.
2/5. Couple of good songs. The rest didn't do it for me.
2/5. I'm sure her fans love it. But, I detest everything about her diva attitude and it affects my enjoyment of the music. sorry.
First listen. 2/5.
First listen. Knew the one song, "Song 2" The rest seems pretty good. Like to hear more of it.
Nice
First Listen. Good Sound. 2/5 This album will only get better with more listens. 2/5 for now, but I can see it being a 3/5 or 4/5 in the near future.
First listen. Interesting African music. I did enjoy it quite a bit after listening to it all day. Very strong 2/5.

First listen. I like the sound. Hard. This has potential to get better with next listens.

Not my first time hearing this one, but first time in quite a while. Lots of good songs. Solid 3/5.
Good stuff. Neil young makes this album so much better.

Great
First Listen. Nice background music. Not much else.
Not as good as the others. 2/5
Second listen. 4/5
First Listen. Very interesting sounds. Very nice.
First Listen. 2/5. Typical sound from Kraftwerk.
First Listen: I hate bands that just have a bunch of other people's hits and don't do anything original with them. This is a 1/5 for me. This might have been great back in 1965, but now, it is just a compilation of other bands' hits. Nothing to see here folks. Next.
First Listen. Had a good vibe to the album. I'd like to hear more.
Second Listen. Gave it a 3/5 on first listen. Love the sound and vibe of this album. Very mellow and cool. Still a strong 3/5.
Sounds good. 2/5

Love Elton John. Great early album. 4/5
Bob...they all sound the same. Always good, but I'm not a true fan. 2/5 first listen.
First listen. Must. Listen. Loud. First song Arise, kicked ass! It continues to kick ass after that. Not something I would listen to often, but when I'm in the mood....this would fit the bill. 2/5.
Good
5/5 One of the best albums of all time.
First listen. Two GREAT songs. The rest are good.
First Listen. Didn't know any of the songs. A few of them grew on me by the end of the day. I look forward to hearing this one again. 2/5 (for now)
First Listen. About what I expected. It's ok for me. 2/5
First Listen. Each song is so repetitive it is like listening to the same 10 seconds over and over again. 2/5 Standouts: Around the World, Da Funk
First Listen. Sounded nice. Like to hear more.
First Listen. I knew a couple of songs. Some good stuff here. I like it. 2/5 for now.

CLASSIC 5/5
Second listen. Better than last time I listened but only slightly. 2/5
Classic. Takes me back. 5/5
Love it. 4/5
2/5
5/5. Absolute Classic.
It's fine. Good for background music. Listened to it several times today and nothing stuck. 2/5.
5/5. A classic start to finish. I can't still remember the first time I heard the entire album. I checked it (cassette) out from the library and listened to it on my walkman over and over again. Loved it. It is special.
Classic, Yes. Roundabout is one of the best songs ever. Standouts: Roundabout, Long Distance Runaround, America
First listen. Some definitely interesting sounds. I enjoyed it and look forward to hearing it again next time. 2/5 (for now).
Classic early clash. I know some of the songs well, others are new to me. 3/5
Half of the songs are GREAT. The rest are a little dated now. Great for its time though. 3/5. Help is not on the US version of the Album. We were missing something, Nice version of the Beatles classic. Standouts: Private Dancer, What's Love Got to do With It, I Can't Stand the Rain, Let's Stay Together, Help.
First listen. I *think* I've heard the band name before, but not familiar with the songs at all. Immediately, loved the sound of the album. Kept listening back-to-back. Loved the sound and feeling of it. Can't wait to listen to it again. This is one of my favorite new first listens. So many great songs. 3/5 (for now)
One of my favorites from Bruce
First Listen. Not bad. Like to hear more. Not sure yet. Standouts: Kowalski, Star 2/5
I remember listening to this all the time when it came out. Epic was great. Listening to it now. I don't remember any of the songs, except Epic. It's good for the type of music. Epic songs: Epic :) Other good songs; Falling to Pieces 2/5
First Listen. This album is better when played loud. Standouts: Stop, Been Caught Stealing, Three Days 2/5
Such a good album. I haven't heard this one in a long time and some of the songs I've forgotten, so it's almost like hearing them for the first time. 3/5 maybe close to 4/5
First listen. Need to hear more. Ok.
Second Listen. Good Stuff. 3/5 still getting to know this album.
Always liked this album. Not quite as good as Rumours or Mirage, but good nonetheless. 4/5
First Listen. After listening to it several times, none of the songs stand out to me. Doesn't mean it is bad, it just needs more time for me. For now, I'll give it a 2/5.
Second listen. 2/5 first time. Such a mix of different styles throughout the album. It's kind of distracting. Buffalo Gals is definitely semi-classic. The scathing was definitely the thing back in the early 80s. Double Dutch seems like a good island calypso song. Someday this might be more than 2/5 for me, but not today.
Second Listen. Love it. Four Women is amazing. 4/5
First listen. Heard of him before, don't know the songs at all. 2/5. I like the sampling. Need time to know the songs. The language is a huge negative for me.
First Listen. Very early punk. Nice. 2/5
Truly a great album for its time. A little dated style now, but very enjoyable. 3/5.
Good stuff! 3/5
Interesting!
I know it is a classic, but this was my first time really listening to it. 3/5
Classic
I like their version of I Don't Want to Talk About It, the rest of the album is nice, but nothing else stood out on first listen.
First listen. Better than expected. Definitely good background music. 2/5
Love this album. First listen. So smooth, relaxing and cool. It is excellent to have on in the background, but it is also more than just background music. I need more of this music in my life.
First Listen. Heard a couple of the songs before. This is a very talented group of singers. Lauren Hill and Wyclef are masters. Killing Me Softly is a great version of a great song. Roberta Flack's will always be the best version for me though. Overall, there are some good songs, I need more time to get to know it. 2/5 for now.
I have heard this album at least a hundred times as I play it before going to bed at night. It is so relaxing and tranquil. I will admit, the first time I heard it, I was really wondering why this would be on a list like this....now I know. If you feel the same - give it a chance. It is really difficult to rate with stars though. I can't put it on the same level as most of the other albums that I love... I will give it a respectable 3/5.
First listen. Really good album start to finish.
2nd listen. Still just an ok album.
First Listen. Really interesting. Need to hear more of this.
Fantastic. Some real classics and the rest are very good. Classics: Freebird, Tuesday's Gone, Gimme Three Steps.
First Listen. I know the song Rooster from before the rest was new. It seems ok.
First Listen. Very interesting album. Some very good songs. Standouts: Locked Inside, Sir Greendown. 3/5
Of all the great Who albums this is not the best.
2nd Listen. Dated, but still a very nice album. 3/5
One of their best. 5/5 Every song is pretty great.
It's decent. Not a fan of Joni Mitchell. 2/5
First listen. Wish it was my last. Oh this is a painful album to listen to. It isn't good. I don't get it. I really gave this album a chance... I can't say that I enjoyed even one song. For me, this is 1/5.
Second Listen. I enjoy some of the songs. Stand out tracks: I Know it's Over. Bigmouth Strikes Again, The Boy with The Thorn in His Side.
Love Stevie Wonder
First Listen. Ok. I know quite a few of the songs, but never really listened to the whole album. It is pretty good. 3/5
First listen. Temptations are good. Just an old style that isn't that listenable today as it was before. Still a good album. 2/5
First listen. Easy to enjoy. 3/5
First listen. Never heard of them before. When I first listened to it I thought is simple and a little boring. But, after a few more times, the music really grew on me. I appreciate the mood and feeling of the album. It makes me want to listen to more by this band. 3/5.
Definitely a different sound that other Beach Boys albums. Very enjoyable. 3/5
Heard this album many times. It has some great classics the rest of the songs are fine. For me it's just a 3/5. Standouts: Wouldn't it Be Nice, Sloop John B, God Only Knows,
Second listen. Growing on me. Enjoying the drum beats. 3/5
I think these songs will take more time to enjoy. Kind of a strange album.
First listen. Seems ok, but after listening all day none of the songs are sticking with me. Maybe next time. 2/5.
Good.
Ok, describes it well. 2/5
Much better than expected. Never heard of these guys before, but glad I got a chance to hear their music. 2/5
5/5. Every song is great. Loved this album since it came out.
First Listen. Three of the songs are very familiar, the rest, I definitely enjoyed. Standouts: Alison, Angels Want to Wear My Red Shoes, Watching the Detectives. 3/5
I heard nothing in this album that made me think that it belongs on this list. 2/5
3/5. Old style but still enjoyable.
3rd listen. First few times I heard this album, I thought it was just ok, but over time, during these past several months, I have grown to really enjoy the album. 4/5.
First Listen. I don't get it. 2/5
Second listen. Still not getting it.
someday maybe I will appreciate the music of Bob Dylan, but not today.
Good for the genre, not my thing these days.
Loved this when it came out. It is still great. Standouts: The Real Slim Shady, Stan, The Way I am, Kill You, Kim, Marshall Mathers, Under the Influence. 4/5
Leonard's Swan Song. According to folklore, swans sing most beautifully before they die, and hence this phrase came to be used to describe someone who was leaving in style. Wonderful album. 4/5.
She's talented for sure, but not my style. 2/5.
Pretty good. Never heard it before. 2/5
Classic in its day. Very good now. 4/5
it's good.
Pretty loud. A lot of the songs are the same, but not bad. 2/5 Ace of Spades is best song.
There are a few special songs on this album. I needed this today.
Never heard of her before. This was a great experience. There are a couple of songs on here that I absolutely loved - The Naughty Little Flea and One More Dance. Her version of the House of the Rising Sun was very good (four years before the Animals made it iconic). The African songs are nice, and I think that Lakutshn Ilanga was my favorite. Standouts: One More Dance, The Naughty Littel Flea, Lakutshn Illanga, Where Does it Lead, House of the Rising Sun. Glad I got a chance to get to know your music Mama Africa. 3/5
Pretty good. I'd enjoy hearing more of it. 2/5
Pretty good. Ever heard it before.
Takes me back to high school. I remember listening to this tape over and over again on my walkman. Classic.
5/5. Perfection
Very Good 3/5++
Two really great songs, the rest are ok. 2/5.
GREAT! So many great songs. 4/5
Great, start to finish.
What a great, relaxing album. Very enjoyable. First time I've heard it. 3/5
It was great when It came out. I don't feel the same love I had for it back then, now. It is still good though. 3/5.
It's fine. Not bad, just didn't excite me. 2/5
seems ok
Its ok. 2/5

Nice
First Listen. Started really enjoying it by the end of the day. It is a good, quality album.
Very Good
Not for me
Classic!
It’s nice, but too long
Several good songs here
It seems ok
Not much of a Byrds fan. This is just ok for me. 2/5
Smooth
2nd listen. Some of the songs are quite nice.
Quality.
Very Enjoyable. Smooth latin jazz.
The first song, Time Traveling, gave me hope for this album. But, the rest of the album was a letdown. Better than To Pimp a Butterfly though. At least this one is listenable. 2/5
Really liking this one
Good Stuff!
It's fine for what it is and when it came from. Half of the songs are still very listenable. 3/5
Really don't like the album cover but the music is good. 3/5. Second time listening and a few of the songs are growing on me.
A few great songs and the others seem pretty good too. 3/5
1st listen. Seems ok. 2/5
A couple of classics and the rest are pretty good. Nice to listen to. Like to hear more of this one. Standouts: Joan of Arc (Maid of Orleans), Souvenir. Joan of Arc. Others: She's Leaving, 3/5
First listen. Need to hear more of it.
Excellent. 4/5 Standouts: School, Bloody Well Right, Dreamer Others: Hide in Your Shell, Asylum, Rudy, Crime of the Centrury.
2nd Listen. Standouts: Leave Home 3/5
2nd listen. First time I gave it 1/5 because it was kind of boring. On this listen, I think it is slightly better, but still not more than just background music. 2/5
Couple of great songs, some good ones and a couple strange ones... Nice. Like to hear more of it. 2/5 for now.
That boy needs therapy! I am not a big fan of the Genre, but this one is good - maybe even - really good! I knew the song "Frontier Psychiatrist" from when I lived in Europe back in those days. It's a Gem. The album is really interesting with its use of loops and samples. Definitely the best electronica album on this list (so far). 3/5
Average sounding punk. 2/5
2nd Listen. Standouts: Breaking Down, It's the Truth, No Peace For The Wicked. From the bonus material: Peter and the Pets 2 of 5. but it has potential
Ok, 2/5
The classic "Stay with Me" is the iconic song from the album. The rest isn't bad either. I prefer the songs that feature Rod Stewart on lead vocals. A strong classic rock album. Standouts: Stay with Me, Love Lives Here Others: Miss Judy's Farm, You're So Rude 3/5
Nothing special for me. 2/5
Classic. The whole "First side" of the album is amazing. That side alone is a 5/5. The rest of the album is good too. Standouts: Iron Man, War Pigs, Paranoid Others; Planet Caravan
Jamiroquai is definitely a talented band with a unique sound. I really want to like it more than I do, the songs just don't connect with me. Maybe it will grow on me later.... 2.5 / 5 for now.
Nice album. 3/5
1st listen I can't tell if the album is good or just annoying. I like a few of the songs, I think I need more time getting to know it. 2.5/5
One of my favorites. 5/5 I love every song. The extended version has a couple of extras that were included on soundtrack albums (Heavy Metal and Bright Lights Big City).
4.5/5. So many great songs. This was the album that made me - and I'm sure many other pay attention to the new an unique band. Yes, they had a couple albums before this one, but I never heard them and never heard of the White Stripes until this one came out. I loved it, the first time I heard it back then and it has only gotten better with age!
First Listen. Interesting sound. Funk, jazz, Latin, rock, hip hop, world fusion all in one album. I mostly liked it. Standouts: Saturday Night 3/5
2/5 It's good.
Better than expected. 3/5
It's very good. What else can you say. 3/5
It Rocks.
It's fine
Really nice. Like to hear more of it.
An all-time classic. Definitely, one of the best albums ever made. 5/5. I remember the first time I heard Money when it came out. It was like nothing I ever heard of before. When I got older I heard the rest of the album and it blew me away.
I like the Cure. Never heard this one though. None of the songs really stood out to me. I am sure it takes time to get, so I'll definitely give it more listens. For now though it is a 2/5.
I definitely feel a jazz influence on this album. I think the second track, Freedom Rider, especially makes me think of the Thelonious Monk album, Brilliant Corners. The album overall is very nice. I enjoyed it. Standouts: Freedom Rider, Empty Pages, John Barleycorn, 3.5/5
I really enjoyed Scott 4 so I thought this would be about the same. I did enjoy it but it really took several listens before I started coming around. There are some really good tracks: Next, Jackie, Plastic Palace People. "The Girls and the Dogs" is quite brilliant. All the rest of the songs are very nice. I'd really like to get to know this album much more in the future. 3/5
3/5. Borrowed Tune is a 5/5. The rest of the album is pretty good.
A couple of good songs. 3/5
First time hearing this album. Besides Golden Years, I don't any of the other songs. I really like the Bowie albums that I know.... Since this is a new one for me it might take a few more listens to really enjoy. 2/5 for now. Standouts: Golden Years. Others:: Wild is the Wind.
Very nice. 3/5
5/5. As much as I hate to admit it, this is a great album. NO, it is not in the same league as some others that I have given a 5/5 rating to, but It IS deserving of it.
Outstanding. Love their sound. Need to hear more of this. 3/5.
Nice. 3/5
Nice. I'd like to hear this one again. 2/5
It is very nice. 3/5
Better than I was expecting. His original version of Leave Your Hat on is so toned down compared to the Joe cocker remake, but still nice to hear. 3/5
Good, but too long. 2/5
4/5. Definitely one of my favorite Jazz albums.
Really enjoyed it for the type of music it is. It's like Perry Como or Andy Williams - people that are good, but I don't often listen to. Every song on the album quickly felt familiar and comfortable to me. I enjoyed it. 4/5.
Pretty great. 3.5/5 If you haven't read the Beatie Boys Book, I highly recommend it. It is interesting from start to finish. I listened to it on audible and it was even better with them reading it. This album is really good. I'd give it a higher score if I knew it better. I've listened to it several times and am still getting to know it. There are so many different sounds and styles throughout the album. It really is something interesting to listen to. I think people either love the Beastie Boys or hate them. If you are a hater, then I'd recommend getting to know them better. Their lyrics are quite intelligent (at times). Sometimes simplistic - going back to Licenced to Ill..... Standouts: Sabotage.
New albums shouldn’t be on this list. It takes time to determine if an album is worthy or just a fad. Never heard of her, never heard the album. I hate spoken interludes… The music was nice. I have no issues with any of the songs. 2/5.
Such a great album. Different!
it's nice.
It's a decent album, but not really into her voice or sound. I like her version of Moody's Mood For Love. 3/5
Nice trip hop album
Really good3/5
4/5. From start to finish, it is packed with great songs. I know this album well. Love it.
A few good songs
It really is very good from start to finish. Solid 4/5. Standouts: Mrs. Robinson, At the Zoo, America, Fakin' it, A Hazy Shade of Winter, Old Friends.
A true classic Classic Rock album. Songs I know well and are great: Walk this Way, Sweet Emotion. Other songs I know and are really good: Big Ten Inch, Toys in the Attic. Best of the rest: No More No More, You See Me Crying. 4/5
Great album. 4/5
Really good first listen. 3/5
"Lyrics" 0/5. Music and style 4/5. Too bad he finds it so necessary to include such deplorable words in his rap. Overall 2/5.
Never heard of these guys. It has a very easy to like sound. I definitely enjoyed it and want to hear more of it.
One of the better Dylan albums.
Great album. I liked it the first time I heard it last year. It just keeps getting better. Interesting sound. I'm glad this album was on this list so I got to know it. 4/5
Ugh. I can imagine this was good back in 1970, but not so much now. 2/5
A load a great songs. 3.5/5
I listened to it, didn't think it was anything amazing, but it wasn't too bad either. I think if I were more familiar with it I would like it. I'd add this one to my list of albums to hear again. I've heard of the band but never heard any of the music. 3/5
It's a good album. I'd have to say that I think it is just too much. Never heard of these guys before, but I enjoyed it. It just kept going on endlessly... 3/5.
A great album. The more I've listened to it the more I enjoy it. So many great songs. Standouts: Changes, Life on Mars? Other greats: Oh you Pretty Things, Kooks, Queen Bitch 4/5
3.5/5. Gets better every time I hear it.
Ok, I know that Frank Zappa isn't for everybody, but those that like him enjoy this album. If you don't like him, you probably haven't heard enough to get to know him. This isn't one of my favorite Zappa albums, but I do enjoy it. I think Hungry Freaks, Daddy is a great opening song. I almost feel like it's a rip off of the Rolling Stones but still very good. I Ain't Got No Heart... to give away. Girl, you better go away. :) Who Are the Brain Police? I love the cadence of the song. Go Cry on Somebody's Else's Shoulder. A bit too much 50's doo-wop for me. But, it's enjoyable. 50s style with lyrics that are not what you would hear in a 50's doo wop ballad! I like Motherly Love as well. Good message. How Could I Be Such a Fool? Again, heartbreak. What was he going through when this album was written. I personally don't know him well enough to know but he definitely seems jaded. Wowie Zowie... eh, ok... the cheesy chorus isn't for me, but the rest of the song is acceptable. You Didn't Try to Call Me. Tell me who's loving you now? cos it worries my mind - I can't sleep at all... I think we have all been THERE. Especially guys... She didn't try to call. Why? Doesn't she think of me the way I'm thinking of her? No.... she's moved on... Dudes need to get over it! Anyway the Wind Blows. It's just a good song...short and to the point. I'm Not Satisfied. A bit of Zappa humor in this one. No love left to give... Haven't we heard that before? Wait, what about the... it sounds like Hungry Freaks, Daddy again... ok, maybe not.. but, maybe... :) You're Probably Wondering Why. So am I. LOL. YEAH. Ok, this song has no real melody at times, then it does... That's Zappa. Is that a Kazoo I hear? why, yes it is! Trouble Every Day. Probably the one song that is just there. At least for me. Hello I'm a Rock / It Can't Happen (Suite in Three Movements). This is what Zappa is all about. Those jazz-rock-related, long drawn-out pieces of interesting sounds and lyrics.... Just enjoy it. And yes, the Zappa continues with " The Return of the Son of Monster" Go with the flow...enjoy it. The first half of the album is more memorable than the second half but the entire project is such an experience. Glad I got to spend the day listening to it! 3.5/5 (what did you expect a 5/5?)
Interesting
2,5, first listen
Excellent. 4/5
First song is great.
I can get into this! 3/5
First time hearing this one. I love Radiohead's The Bends album. This might be my 2nd favorite. We'll have to see. Great sounds throughout the album. 3.5/5
When I first started listening, I thought, Ok...one good song. But, as the day went on I really started enjoying it more. 1979 is right when I was first getting into music, but I was never a Chic fan, so It took this long for me to finally hear it. I can definitely see this being a very hot album in 1979. Standouts: Good Times. Best of the Rest: The other six songs on the album. 3.5/5
Pretty great. But, Morrissy's voice can get annoying after a while. I still like it though! Standouts: Girlfriend in a Coma. Unhappy Birthday, Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before. Others: I Started Something I Couldn't Finish. Death of a Disco Dancer, I won't Share You. I've come to wish you an unhappy birthday Cause you're evil And you lie And if you should die I may feel slightly sad (But I won't cry) Brutal... :) Love it. 4/5
Brilliant. 4/5 Standouts: Black Magic Woman, Oye como Va, Samba Pa Ti, Hope You're Feeling Better.
Hmmmm
One of the better punk albums on the list. 2.5/5
Really good, older Beatles album. I am not a fan of most of the cover songs (except for Till There was You) but overall the album is quite excellent. Standouts: All My Loving, It Won't Be Long, Till There Was You. Others: Don't Bother Me, Little Child, All I've Got to Do, Devil in Her Heart, Not a Second Time, and Hold Me Tight. Could have done without: Please Mr. Postman, Roll Over Beethoven, You Really Got A Hold On Me and Money (That's What I Want). 4.5/5
First listen. I’ve heard the Tigermilk album before because of this list. I think this one has a better vibe.
Very good. 3.5
Classic. The album is full of great songs.
This is one that really grows on you. 4
Interesting listen. Not great, but enjoyable. 2.5/5
Horrible. 1/5
Classic! 4.5 / 5
Nice
Interesting and enjoyable. Not really familiar with it yet. I think I'd like it more after I hear it a few more times. 2.5/5 for now
Loved it! 3.5 of 5. The album starts out strong with four really great songs. The rest are pretty good too. Standouts: Hot Topic, What's Yr Take on Cassavetes, Deceptacon, The The Empty, My My Metrocard, Phanta, Friendship Station Left me wanting more.
I can appreciate that people LOVE Bob Dylan. He's ok for me. Kind of the same sound for every song, every album. I listened to this one a few times, it is worth listening to, but don't think I'd ever go back to it again. Glad I got the chance to hear it. 3/5
Who really wants to listen to ignorant people acting angry, shooting guns, calling each other Nigga.? The music and style is actually good, it is just all the extreme content that really ruins this album. 1/5
A Perfect Rock Album. 5/5 Classics: Back in Black, You Shook Me All Night Long, Hells Bells Greats: Shake a Leg, Shoot to Thrill, Given the Dog a Bone, What Do YOu Do For Money Honey, Have a Drink on Me. Far Above Average: Let Me Put My Love Into You, Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution. Favorite Line: "Let me cut your cake with my knife" - Let Me Put My Love Into You.
I liked it. I think I need to hear it again though. 2.5 / 5 for now.
Mostly just typical 60s pop-rock with a few standout tracks. Classics: None Standouts: Kicks, I"m Not Your Stepping Stone, All I Really Need is You, Melody for an Unknown Girl Very Good: Little Girl in the 4th Row, Take A Look at Yourself 3 / 5
A lot of great songs on this one. Standouts: Maggy May, Mandolin Wind, (I Know) I'm Losing You, Every Picture Tells a Story, Seems Like a Long Time, (Find a) Reason to Believe. The album would be rated higher without That's All Right/Amazing Grace. I think they are awkward in the flow of the album. 4/5
Very solid. First time hearing the album. 3/5
3.5/5 reqlly enjoyed this album
Very good. 4 / 5 Classic: Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll Standouts: Wake Up and Make Love With Me, Sweet Gene Vincent, My Old Man, Clevor Trever,
Really Great! 4.5 / 5 Classics: Killer Queen, Brighton Rock Others: Lilly of the Valley, Now, I'm Here, Bring Back Leroy Brown, In the Lap of the Gods, Stone Cold Crazy
4.5 Classic 7 Classics! Foxy Lady, Fire, Hey Joe, Are You Experienced?, Manic Depression, Purple Haze and the Wind Cries Mary. The rest of the songs are just damn good - including May This Be Love, I Didn't Live Today, Third Stone From the Sun, Stone Free and Love or Confusion,
It's a nice album... 2.5/5
Bizzare album. Not everyone's cup of tea... Not sure it is mine either, but I did enjoy listening to it more than expected. 2/5
Surprisingly good. I’m usually not interested in Spanish music, but this was different. 3/5
Better than expected. Many good songs. 3/5
First impression: Sounds like Hendrix...second impression: sounds like the Who. So, they get a zero for originality. LOL. The music was nice though. I'm not a fan of cover songs, and the first two songs right off the bat are covers... The original stuff on the album is fine, but nothing special to me.
nope 1/5
Really great sound. Never heard of this guy before. At times it sounds like pink Floyd…other times Alan Parson Project. Whatever it is I like it. Will definitely listen to This one again. 3/5
2.5. First time hearing this band. I liked it and want to hear more.
Really interesting stuff.
Classic. Favorite song: Victims. 4.5/5
Nice
Some pretty nice songs. Heard of this guy but never heard any of his music. Might take some more time to appreciate this one better. 2.5/5 for now.
5/5 From start to finish it is one great song after another.
It's Madonna. She can do no wrong... 3/5 This is an album by her that I really don't know very well, but it is really good.
3.5/5 First time hearing the album. Very good, as usual from Bob Marley. Standouts: Stir it Up, High Tide or Low Tide (Bonus Track).
Much better than expected. I really loved it! 3/5
Never heard of Ash. For the first time listening it was very enjoyable. 2.5/5 for now.
Just ok for me. Nothing bad, just not my kind of music and nothing stood out. I was expecting to hear the "Fuck You" song, but guess that was from a different album. Shame.
5/5. Damn good from the first song to the last.
4.5 A nearly perfect album
Oh boy…. Another one of these faux music albums…. It isn’t horrible, but seriously…did I really need to hear THIS before I die? 2/5.
It’s ok. I really don't like the remakes of Listen to the Music or Summer Breeze. Those are just to iconic for me to enjoy anyone singing them. The rest is pretty good though. 3/5
Really good
2.5 / 5. Not bad for a first listen. I can definitely get into this one. need to hear it more though.
It's another Bob Dyan album... how exciting..... (yawn).
4/5. Can't go wrong with James Brown. Classic.
It's nice 3/5
Never heard of Big Star. The album is nice though. Best tracks: Femme Fatale, Thank You Friends, Big Black Car, Holocaust, Kanga Roo, Till the End of the Day,
Nice sound
Good
Solid Nick Drake. 3/5
Such an interesting sound. Bjork is very unique! Birthday is really great. Motorcrash isn't bad either. I can get into this, but it might take a few more listens.
There are some really great songs, but many of the others are just dated. Standouts: Living on a Prayer, You Give Love a Bad Name, Wanted Dead or Alive, Never Say Goodbye. 3.5/5
3/5
Great Album. I used to listen to this all the time when it came out. Now, 22 years later, Some of the songs, I don't remember, but there are some real classics here: In the End, Papercut, One Step Closer, Crawling, My December. 4/5
Smooth
A couple of classics on this one. The rest are ok, long album.
I’m sure its good, but after listening all day I am not won over yet.
4/5. Al is king. Great stuff.
Great. 3.5/5
eh
Good progressive rock
Very good. 3/5
Standouts: Nightclubbing, Baby, China Girl, Sister Midnight.
2.5/5
Brilliant! 4.5/5 Standouts: About a Girl, Come as You Are, Dumb, Polly, Something in the Way, All Apologies, The Man Who Sold the World, All three Meat Puppet Songs (especially Oh Me), Where did you Sleep Last Night. And all the rest are above average too! I am so glad this album exists.... RIP Kurt.
Pretty good. Need to hear more of this one! 2.5/5
Actually...this is a great album. Classic PSB. 4/5
2.5 / 5. Good album, easy to enjoy. Need to hear more of this one.
3.5. Smooth and cool. Very nice to listen to.
Tainted Love is one of the best songs ever! The rest is pretty good.
4/5. Hard not to fall in love with this album. Smooth and amazing.
Classic. 4/5
On first listen, I thought it was pretty boring and insignificant. But, as the day went on and I heard it more, I started really enjoying it. It isn't anything fantastic or amazing, but it is like the music version of comfort food. 3/5
Keep your eyes road, your hand upon the wheel.... Morrison Hotel contains many Doors classics such as Roadhouse Blues, Waiting for the Sun, Peace Frog, and Land Ho! Other standouts: Blue Sunday, Queen of the Highway, Indian Summer, Jim Morrison - gone too soon, but when we need him we can always check into the Morrison Hotel and enjoy the entire catalog.
One Way or Another, Heart of Glass, Hangin on the Telephone... great
I’ve heard this one before and it’s really good and gets better each time I listen to it. 3.5/5. Standouts: Get a Grip On Yourself, Peaches, Hanging Around, Goodbye Toulouse
A definite classic. 4/5
It’s alright. 2.5/5
Standouts: I Wanna Be Your Dog, No Fun, 1969. Ann almost sound like a Doors song for most of it. 3/5
Much better than expected. Still not really what I like to listen to, but I can see how it would be loved by metalheads! 2.5/5
Coldplay. It's either Love or Hate. Those that love the band probably outnumber the haters, but Overall: Excellent ( but after listening to it all day. I'm really tired of hearing it). Standouts: "Don't Panic", "Shiver", "Yellow", "Trouble" 3.5/5
It's nice. 2.5/5
Really good album. Standouts: Coat of Many Colors, Traveling Man, Here I Am. 4/5
This is not nearly as good as the other Kraftwerk albums I’ve heard. That being said, it isn’t bad, just not great. Autobahn (song) is a classic…. 3/5
3.5/5 Always loved the song “cars” and this album has a few more great songs. I enjoyed it very much.
One of the weakest Eagles albums, but it does have three classic songs. 3/5
Classic Old School. Really takes me back. Reminds me of old friends that I haven't thought of in years! This was definitely a sound that was truly new and unique at the time. Rock Box set the way for songs like "Walk This Way" That Aerosmith and Run-DMC collaborated on. Every song is significant and set the stage for others to follow.... Standouts: It's Like That, 30 Days, Hard Times, and Rock Box. Others: Jam-Master Jay, Hollis Crew, Sucker M.C.'s, Wake Up, Jay's Game. 4/5
Really enjoyable. Love Neil Young and I never sleep either.
What makes this special? It isn’t bad, but I’ve heard hundreds of albums that aren’t on this list, that are better than this. 2/5
4/5. Love it
Brilliant. 4/5
3.5. Really great
Really, Really enjoyed this album. 3.5/5 It's a really fun listen. I'd definitely add it to my playlist. Is it amazing? Not really, but, I am glad I got to know it.
Probably the best album ever in this genre. 5/5
That language! This would be better without all the N's and F's.... I'll actually give it 2/5 and not 1/5 like I thought because it has merits. 2/5
Never head this one before. Seems good. Really need to get to know it better. 3/5
Hard core. Interesting. I like it in general, but not really something I'd listen to often. 2.5
4/5. Classic, Classic Rock. Smoke on the Water, Highway Star, Lazy, and Space Truckin' are all mega-classic.
3.5 Never heard this before. I really wish I would have listened to it in 1987, I am sure it would be a classic for me now. It is exactly what I like.
I'd take THIS Elvis over that other one any day! Solid album. 3/5
2.5
2.5 good at times.
3.5/5
LOUD. NOISY. Not very good. 2/5
Its fine
2.5. Nice but not into this voice.
It's a nice album. That's it. 3/5
Really good. 3.5
It's nice. Better than many other albums on this list. 3/5
I first listened to the CD version of the album and thought it was pretty good - definitely 'cool'. Then Darn that Dream started and I thought how much that song just didn't fit in with the rest of the album. It's a great old classic from the 1940s - I know it well. It just didn't seem to flow along with the rest of the album. THEN I looked at the Wikipedia page and saw that It wasn't part of the original album. I never know which version of the album is the one that we "must listen to", but in this case, I'll stick with the original version without Darn That Dream. Very cool, smooth and funky jazz. yeah, baby, I dig it... 3/5
2.5.
It's ok.
One of the best Jazz albums ever. 4/5 Best track: So What, Freedie Freeloader
2.5. Average
3
Not bad. NOt really my kind of music but it was enjoyable
4.5/5. F'ing great
Very nice
3.5. It's fine. A couple of real classics.
Interesting sound. I'd like to hear more 2.5
2.5. One of the best I’ve heard from them.
2.5. Just ok for me.
It's nice but really hard to enjoy when the language is so difficult. I think this one would take more time to appreciate. 2.5 / 5
Pretty classic album. I remember when this was the biggest album on planet Earth. 4/5
2.5
2.5
Not exactly a unique sound, because it sounds like Radioheard and other bands, but I did really like it. 3/5
Great album with the exception of one song (Something in the Water). 4/5
It’s ok. 2.5
Not my favorite genre to listen to but the music was good. The language was a bit much for me though. 2/5
4.5 Classic
Rage Against the Machine or RATM is a rock band from L.A., USA. This was their 1st Studio Release. Genre: Rap Metal, Funk Metal Initial Impression: Hard, Loud, Kick Ass Singles: ---------------------------------- Killing in the Name (UK #1, US ALT #25, #8 NZ, #7 AUS) Bullet in the Head (UK #16, #19 NZ) Bombtrack (UK #37, NL #8, NZ #11) Freedom (#17 NZ) Standouts: Killing in the Name (Fuck You I Won't Do What You Tell Me), Bombtrack Others: Take The Power Back, Bullet in the Head I don't usually listen to Rap Metal, but when I do I listen to Rage Against the Machine. I have to be in the right mood, to enjoy this kind of music. It isn't something I'd put on playlist with other songs that I would listen to during a normal day. But, I would definitely put it on a playlist of songs that really fucking rock! For the Genre is is outstanding. For me, overall, I think it is pretty damn good and overall I'd give it a 3.5
Standouts: Love at the Five and Dime The album seems fine. Never heard of her before and I've listened to Country music from time-to-time throughout my 55 years... 2.5
Above average, but not my favorite Springsteen album. 3.5
Amazing 4.5/5
Nice. Now this is good country music. Standouts: I Don't Wanna Talk About It Others: The Pearl, Michelangelo, Tragedy, Red Dirt Girl, Bang the Drum Slowly, Hour of Gold,
Wilco is an American Rock band. This is their 4th Album. They have three appearances in the 1001 Albums list (including collaboration with Billy Bragg). This is definitely a more mellow album compared to other Wilco songs I've heard. Some may call it boring.... I just think you need to spend more time with it to appreciate it. This is my first listen, and my first impression is positive and I look forward to spending more time getting to know it better. Standouts: I Am Trying To Break Your Heart, Radio Cure, War on War, Heavy Metal Drummer, Rating: 2.5/5
2.5
Seems ok. Don't know any of the song. Typical 80s sound. 3/5
It s nice. 2.5
4.0 really nice. Jealous Guy and Imagine are true classics.
2.5
strangely haunting and beautiful music. Her voice is unique and I am sure the style was fresh when this was released in 1967. 4/5
Uh, what was that?
Kinda dated. 2.5/5
I like this one a lot. One of the best in this genre. 4/5
Pretty good. 3.5/5
Fun. 3/5
Bring the Noise! with Anthrax. Nice. Great sounds throughout. 3/5
Never heard of this band before and certainly never heard any of the songs. I love the song, Despair. So haunting. At times during the album I almost thought I was listening to a early Duran Duran album. I think the album would have been better to get to know back in 1979, but listening to it now for the first time I can only appreciate how it might have been a new and different sound for its time. I think if I hear it more it is something I would definitely like. I would definitely like to keep this one around and listen to it again and again. 2.5/5
It's fine. Way too long though. There is only so much of Outkast I can stand...
I have always really liked this album.
4.5/5. Classic album!
The thing that makes me give this 4.5 instead of 5 stars is the fact that the album is just too “pop”-orientated. It is loaded with pop songs. And I appreciate the fact that there are no covers on this one. It is a classic and in 1964 this would have been an amazing purchase! 4.5/5
Heard this once before. Not bad. Three good tracks and the might take more time to get to know better. 3.5/5.
5/5
Noisy, but not bad. 2.5/5
One of the best albums ever. Start to finish this is an amazing album. 5/5
5/5. Classic. One of the best albums ever!
3.5 I’m not a dead head but good music is good music.
It’s jazz. 3/5
2.5. Good
Excellent for the genre and era. 3/5
Got better each time I listened to it. By the end of the day….i was a fan. Still need more time to give it a higher rating. 3/5
2.5 one of her least horrible albums. Not a Mitchell fan.
Outstanding! 4.5/5
Really good.
Decent. 2.5/5
4.5. It is so iconic.
3/5
Nice pre-disco Bee-Gees
It’s good. 3/5
The Rolling Stones from London, England. This was their 9th Studio Album. It is one of six albums on the 1001 Albums list. Standouts: Sympathy for the Devil, Street Fighting Man Others: No Expectations, Factory Girl, Salt of the Earth Sympathy for the Devil is one of the Top 100 classic rock songs of all time. Rating: 3.5
Ray Charles sings 20s, 30s & 40s standards in his own R&B Bluesy way. It is outstanding. Singles: ----------------------------------------------------- Let the Good Times Roll (#78) Don't Let the Sun Catch You Cryin' (US #95, #17 US R&B) Just for a Thrill (#16 US R&B) Come Rain or Come Shine (US #83) Standouts: Let the Good Times Roll, It Had to Be You, Alexander's Ragtime Band, When Your Lover Has Gone, Just For a Thrill, Don't Let the Sun Catch You Cryin', Am I Blue, Come Rain Come Shine. Rating: 4/5
Surprisingly enjoyable.
3.5 gets better each time I hear it.
There are 3-4 really great songs, the rest seem fine.
Very good 3.5
It’s fine. A few good tracks. 3/5 Standout: This Women’s Work
Very good
2.5. I can do without Joni Mitchell in my life.
Interesting sound. I think I like it but still need more time.
3.5/5. First time hearing the whole album. A couple classics and the reat are really good.
4/5 Really loved this when it came out. It is still great.
4/5. There is a lot to love on this classic album. Brown Sugar is an iconic classic. Wild Horses is one of the top 10 Stones songs of all time. Bitch has a familiar riff that makes me feel like I know the song, but I really don’t remember ever hearing it before. I Got the Blues sounds so Ottis Redding-like with out being a rip off. It is a perfect tribute to a master of soulful blues. Can’t you hear me knocking is two songs in one: the song and the jam session. Just imagine what we have lost if they didn’t keep recording after the main part of the song was over. Dead Flowers, shows how versatile the band can be. Rock, blues and now country….Sticky fingers gives the listener one joyful surprise after another. And at no time does the listener get the feeling they know what is coming next. The album winds down with Moonlight Mile, a soulful rock ballad that gives the listener time to reflect on what they just took in during the previous forty minutes. I can just image listening to this album for the first time back in 1971… hearing the final song fade, listening as the needle makes it was to the end of the album, the arm lifting up and start moving back to the resting place. I would have probably been chilling on a bean-bag and would have just sat in silence for a half hour only to get up, flip the album over to side 1 and start the journey again.
Really great C&W album. It took a few listens to grow on me.
3.5 Quite good.
Not bad. I don’t know the band or songs. 2.5/5
2.5 It’s fine
4.5 Love it
3.5
Ugh…still good, but like it was when it came out.4/5
2.5/5 Not bad, just not my bag, baby!

I can do with hearing this one again. 2/5
Not a real thriller.... 2.5
Interesting sounds by Zappa. This is one that will take more time to get to know better.
Classic, classic rock. 4/5
4.5/5
It's a nice album. Not really sure it belongs on this list, but I did enjoy it. The best elevator music ever. :) 3/5
Really good stuff!
Not bad. Good sound. Great era for hip hop. 3/5
Not bad, but not great
She is so unique. Great voice and style. A lot of exceptional songs. Her version of the 1940s classic, Like Someone in Love is amazing and she brought the classic to a whole new generation of music fans. 3/5
2.5. It seems nice. Not really my thing though. The remake of Cruisin is nice
Good psychedelic rock. A little dated.
Very Interesting. Never heard of them before. My second time through the album and I think it has some great sounds and it kind of transport you into another realm, like you are in a trance, only broken when the last song is over. I think I could grow to really enjoy this. 3/5 for now.
Not bad, but not great. 2.5
it's above average. Psycho Killer is a classic. 3/5
4/5. Quickly becoming one of my favorite albums on this list. "21st Century Schizoid Man" and "The Court of the Crimson King" are classics. The rest are great.
3.5/5 Standouts: The Lyre of Orpheus Others: Hiding All Away, Messiah Ward, There She Goes, Nature Boy, Abattoir Blues, Let the Bells Ring, Breathless, Babe You Turn Me On,
Hardcore. Better listed to loud and when buzzin' on something. Just saying... It starts powerful and keeps the beat throughout. Singles (4): One Love (#8 UK), No Good (#4 UK, top 10 all over the world), Voodoo People (#13 UK), Poison (#15, UK) Standouts: Break & Enter, Their Law, No Good, Tops in the genre. Overall: 3.5/5
This is a journey into sound.... Don't know these guys. Never would have ever listened to this album if it wasn't for this project. Was it worth it? Tuff one to say. Experimental Psychedelic pop in Portuguese. It definitely has moments. Might take more time to start to enjoy. For now, it is one of the weaker Psychedelic albums on the list. Standouts: "A Minha Menina" Others: "O Relogio" (first half of the song, then it went to crap), "Baby" has a familiar melody. "La Premier Bonheur Du Jour" 2.5
Not bad, but not great 2.5
Really great album from a great era in music. It is still very listenable today, unlike some of the music from then. Some of the tracks really give me Al Green vibes, which I like very much. Stand Outs: Family Affair, Runnin’ Away, Thank You for Takin’ Me to Africa Others: Luv N Haight, Just Like A Baby, Brave And Strong, You Caught Me Smilin’, Time. 3.5
Not bad, but not great 2.5
Classic album in Rock 'n' Roll history. It has so many great songs. Standouts: Gimme Shelter, Country Honk, Let it Bleed, You Can't Always Get What You Want. 4/5
Very nice Standouts: El Paso, Big Iron Others: Cool Water 3.5
3.5 Some great tracks. Standouts: Here Comes Your Man, Others: Monkey Gone to Heaven, La La Love You, Debaser, Gouge Away
Forgettable.
Around 1990 I heard The The's Mind Bomb album and fell in love with their sound. I bought "Infected" and this one, "Soul Mining" thinking they were going to have that same sound. But. they were both really different and I really never got into them. I was surprised to see those two albums on this list, but not Mind Bomb. It is nice to listen to them again, almost like for the first time. This album starts strong with I've Been Waiting For Tomorrow For All My Life and This is the Day. Both songs I think are great. This is the Day is one I have heard over the years on Alt radio. The rest of the album is so good. I really don't get why I wasn't into this 30 years ago! Standouts: This is the Day, Uncertain Smile, Perfect, The album art cover is really interesting. It kind of has a Picasso feel to it. The wikipedia page says it is a painting of one of the wives of Fela Kuti. So that is cool as well based on his presents on this list as well. The albums singles: Uncertain Smile, Perfect, This is the Day were all top 100 UK songs, but none were top 40. Perfect hit the NZ charts at #19 and the re-release of Uncertain Smile hit #31 in the Netherlands. I look forward to listening to this more much more often. I am giving it a strong 3.5 / 5.
I listened to the 2000 CD edition which is longer than the original LP version. The album that brought us "A Boy Named Sue". Johnny performs Ring or Fire and Walk the Line and several other Popular C&W songs of the time. It is a very enjoyable album and great to listen to from time-to-time, but isn't something I'd listen to often. It is good though. 3.5/5 Singles: A Boy Named Sue (#1 US Country) top 10 all over the world.
This is one that is hard to rate. When it came out (before my time) I am sure it was great. Mambo. Dancing. Latin music. All the rage! Today, we hear it and it is just old music of days gone by. I rate based on what the album means to me, not what it means to music history in general. It may have been an influential album in the 1950s....I'll give it that. For my pleasure in listening it gets a 3.5/5. There is nothing bad about this album. It does make me want to dance (in private of course - because this old white guy don't dance) and it IS fun to listen to.
Very enjoyable.
A couple of really classic songs and some I just don't get into so much. I really like Nevermind - like everyone did. This one is different. For me, just a 3/5.
Awesome
Love Sir Duke and I Wish. They are absolute masterpieces. Isn't she lovely is sweeter than sweet. The album is full of other really great tracks as well such as Pastime Paradise, As, and my favorite unknown song from the album is If it's Magic. The album is funky, soulful and a joy to listen to. 4/5
3.5 A few really good songs, more if you include the extended 2CD version. Love the additional songs and instrumentals. Standouts: "Love Vigilantes", "The Perfect Kiss", "Shellshock", "Sub-culture" The rest is really great. Enjoyable.
Classic 5/5 Standouts: Whole Lotta Love, Heartbreaker, Living Loving Maid, Moby Dick, What is and What Should Never Be, Thank You, The Lemon Song, Ramble On, Bring it on Home. (Yes, every song).
2.5 Loud, but I can see why people that like this kind of music would be attracted to it.
Perfection
It's fine, but old C&W music just doesn't excite me. I'm sure if I listen to it enough it would grow on me, but do I really want that? 2.5
Alt Rock band from Scotland. This was their 3rd album and only album on the list of 1001 albums... Singles: Star Sign (#4 US Alt, #44 UK Singles) The Concept (#12 US Alt, #51 UK Singles) What You Do To Me (#19 US Alt Airplay, #31 UK Singles (OCC)) First Impression: Thumbs up. Aphex Twin is Richard James, British Electronic Musician. This is his first album. His only album on the list of 1001 albums. Genre: Ambient Techno Initial Impression: Thumbs Up Standouts: Xtal, Tha, Others: Everything else Rating: 4/5 (Outstanding)
I was really not looking forward to listening to this one... But, DAMN. That was awesome. A Tribe Called Quest is from Brooklyn NY, USA. This was their first album and they have two albums on the 1001 albums list. This is a GREAT hip hop album. Can they Kick it? Yes they can! One of the best albums in the Genre. Up there with Three Feet High and Rising by De La Soul. Love it. Standouts: Can I Kick It? Others: Everything else on the album! Rating: 4/5 (Outstanding)
Portishead is from Bristol, England. This is their third album and they have two albums on the list of 1001 albums. Eh
Seems ok. 2.5
Quite a few good songs on this album. Easy to get to know and enjoy. 3.5
Standards from the 20s, 30s & 40s sung in a way only Frankie can. Brilliant. 4/5
I'm not usually crazy about Folk Rock. This one was less folk and more easy listening, so I enjoyed much better than expected. Favorite Tracks: Everybody's Talkin', The Dolphins 3/5
3.5 The more I listen to it, the more I like it. It is really different than the other WHO albums that I have listened to.
3.5 Very nice. Better than expected

Brilliant 5/5 Standouts: Taxman, Eleanor Rigby, Here, There and Everywhere, Yellow Submarine, Good Day Sunshine, Got to Get You Into My Life, Tomorrow Never Knows, For No One Others: I Was Only Sleeping, Love You To, She Said She Said. Classic
Definitely a good album. I enjoyed it for the first time hearing it. Exceptional for the genre. Just wish I knew it better.
Don’t know these guys. They have an interesting sound that reminds me of some of the late 80s alternative bands. First impression: thumbs up. Great voice.
Nice. Smooth. Jazz.
Very good. Soulful. Standout: Papa Was A Rolling Stone Others: I Ain't Got Nothin', The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face 3.5/5
Standouts: The Glorious Land, Others: Let England Shake, The Last Living Rose, The Words That Maketh Murder. 3/5

Not too bad :) 3/5
5/5. Classic. I love every song. Perfect album, and it brings back memories.....
The Beach Boys were a really unique 60s sound, that has really lost its appeal. They were great back in the day though. There are a lot of great songs, but when I listen to it now, it’s like I just want to hear it once, and move on….. 3.5/5 (excellent)
Not a fan of show tunes and that is what this really reminds me of. It isn't bad for what it is, but I don't think I would ever seek this out to listen to it again. Overall I give it a 3/5 (which is good for something I don't ever want to hear again!)
I like Bjork, but never heard this album or any of the songs. After listening to it all day, I didn’t really feel much of any connection. 2.5/5
Standouts: Illegal Smile, Your Flag Decal Won't Get You Into Heaven Anymore, Others: Spanish Pipedream (Blow Up Your TV), Hello In There, Sam Stone, Pretty Good, Quiet Man. 3.5/5
It is nice to hear music from the other side of the World. This is definitely something I would have never even considered listening to without it showing up here. It is nothing I would choose to hear again though. I can appreciate it and its influence on other similar artists, but it is not an album or a style of music that fits into my personal music likings. 2/5
It's a really long album. When the music is good, I usually don't mind a long album...but this was really long. Did I mention how long it was? One good song, 1979. The rest are relatively forgettable after a few listens... It isn't bad...just too long. :) 3/5
3.5
Difficult one to like. Free Jazz is so unlikable to the average user. I have no clue if this is good or bad....
2.5
2,5 very interesting
2.5
Better than expected. 3/5
Really don't like...
Has it's moments but not enough... 2.5
3.5 really enjoyed it!
His voice is the biggest draw back to me. It's great for one song, Ok, for a few songs, then just get's old for me after that.... Standouts: None Still, it's good music. Just like to hear someone else sing the songs! 3.5
Sound and Vision is one of his best! Most of the rest of this one is new to me. Warszawa has a definite Brian Eno feel to it. More than another of the other songs on the Album. Standouts: Sound and Vision Others: Speed of Life, Always Crashing the Same Car, Warszawa Rating: 3.5
Ugh. Typical pop album. Nothing special here… let’s move on. 2.5/5
When it started, I thought, “I’m not going to like this….” Turned out pretty good…. Standout: You Didn’t Have to Be So Nice 3/5
Fantastic! 4/5 if you include Paint it Black….
2.5
Classic oldies…. 3.5/5
Surprised at how much I liked it. 3/5
3.5. Very good. Soulful horns.
3.5 very good.
The best song on the album….isn’t really on the album: United. It sounds like Kraftwerk. The rest of the album is a difficult listen. It is interesting, but not something I’d ever recommend to anyone. This album might put you in a trance, or cause you to slowly go insane. Either way, it could be the soundtrack to your nightmares. 2.5/5.
3/5 Interesting album. Never heard anything quite like this before.
Time of the Season is one of the best songs ever. Great sounds. The rest of the album is full of great little songs that I've never heard before. They do have kind of a Beach Boys vibe from time-to-time, but not really a copy-cat band. Standouts: Time of the Season Others: A Rose For Emily, Care of Cell 44, Beachwood Park, Brief Candles, I Want Her She Wants Me, This Will Be Our Year, Butcher's Tale
2.5
4/5. Love this album
4.5/5 I love every song on this album.
4.5 Brilliant. Standout: Shaft The rest of this album is just amazing. I love it start to finish!
3 Nothing too exciting, but nice.
3/5 Very mediocre
Such an iconic voice. Standouts: Sweet Baby Jane, Fire and Rain, Country Road Others: Lo and Behold, Sunny Skies, Steamroller, Oh Susannah, Blossom, Suite for 20 G 4/5
Second listen: First time it was a 1/5 for me. This time around I found the song "Boss" to be exceptional and so far, that one song has saved this album. Standouts: Boss Others: Selfish, 101 FM, Therapy, Rating: 2.5/5
2.5
Really good
3/5 Interesting sound. First time hearing this one. It's good, quality music, not sure if it going to excite me again next time I hear it though.
ok, this was wayyyy better than expected. Some definite grooves on this one. Each song sounds familiar and for good reason, they took some good songs and made them Bongo anthems and in other cases, others have used tracks from this album in their hip hop albums. This could be the biggest surprise of the year! 3.5/5
Very odd dynamic. Like someone not gansta trying to be gansta. Just ok for me.
There are a few really great songs, the rest are fine. As a whole, it's a good album but not nearly one of the best Tom Petty albums. 3.5
Pretty good. Sounds loke David Bowie most of the time. 2.5
Kinda good, I guess. Never heard of them. Couple good tracks. I'd probably listen to this again in the future. 3/5
Musically good, but not my kind of music. 2.5/5
Is it me or does this sound like a Scott Walker album? It’s nice, but on first listen I rolled my eyes a bit. After listening more, I started to like it more.
Best Tom Waits album! 4/5
Outstanding album for the era of music. Standouts: Blueberry Hill (makes me think of Ritchie Cunningham!), Blue Monday, What's the Reason Others: Reeling and Rocking, The Fat Man's Hop, Honey Chile 3.5/5
5/5. Absolute Classic I don't give 5/5 ratings often. These, in my book, are reserved for the top 5% of the albums I've listened to. This is an exceptional work. I usually do NOT like cover songs. Johnny knows how to make them his own. You have never heard anyone else sing the Nine Inch Nails track Hurt like Johnny does. Absolute genius. I listened to the full album for the 1st time just after Johnny had passed. Before this I always thought he was good - he had a handful of great songs and most of the time his live albums were entertaining. This, on the other hand, is near perfection - start to finish. It is so amazing. This is truly an album that I feel everyone should listen to before they die. Favorite tracks: Hurt, I Hung My Head, Give My Love to Rose, The Man Comes Around, In My Life, Sam Hall, I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry, Streets of Laredo, Big Iron, and We'll Meet Again. Least Favorite: None really, but if I HAD to pick a couple I'd go with the cover songs that he really didn't do much with, other than sing it in only the way JC could: Bridge Over Troubled Waters, First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. Songs like Personal Jesus is ok, I think someone probably told him that If he sang this he would reach out to a new generation of music fans. I think it's pretty good, but probably the song that I feel least fits the rest of the album.
Neil Young is pretty damn great. I knew a couple of these songs but don't think I've heard the whole album more than a couple of times. Stand Outs: Cinnamon Girl, Down By The River Others: Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, Round & Round (It Won't Be Long), Running Dry (Requiem For the Rockets), Cowgirl in the Sand 3.5/5
Above average 3/5. Solid! I include the 1996 bonus material - which contain some of the best songs on the album! (Orgasm Addict, Oh Shit) Standouts: I Don't Mind, Orgasm Addict.
"Como decia mi abuelita el que dé último rie se rie mejor" Salsa in 1978 really fit right in with the Disco scene. I enjoyed the album - more for the music than the singing. Standout: Pedro Navaja 3/5
4/5 Very good.
Not horrible, but pretty close to un-listenable at times. Too many muther fuckin', bitches, Niggas, etc... Standouts: Nothin' But a "G" Thang 2.5
Yep, Noise Rock.... Mostly I didn't care for it. I'm sure there is a place and time when and where I might actually enjoy it, but for the most part it just too difficult to listen to. Standout: Freak Scene 2.5
Hate to admit it, but this is really good! Standouts: Otherside, Scare Tissue, Californication, Around the World, Road Tippin' Others: Parallel Universe, The Velvet Glove, Porcelain 4.0
Definitely, one of my favorite Jazz albums ever. Smooth trumpet sounds throughout. I've heard this album at least 100 times in the past couple of years. Favorite tracks: Part of a Whole, Blues For Huey 4/5
Might just be good for background music - but not every song. Favorite Song: Immigrant 2.5 at best.
3rd listen: first two times I gave 3/5 and 3/5. This is the reason for this list: To introduce new albums that we would have never heard of. This is a gem. I'm very grateful to this 1001 project to bring this to my attention. After listening this time, I realized how much I love the album. Standouts (Just about every song!): This is the Way, A Sight to Behold, The Body Breaks, Poughkeepsie, Dogs They Make Up the Dark, This Beard is for Siobhan, See Saw, Todos los Dolores, Insect Eyes 4.5/5
Standouts: London Calling, Train in Vain, Clampdown, Lost in the Supermarket, Others: Rudie Can't Fail, Revolution Rock, Brand New Cadillac, Jimmy Jazz, Hateful, Spanish Bombs 4/5
Yesterday I had the Clash...today I get the Undertones. This week is starting out great! Fun little punk rock album. Quite enjoyable! I usually don't like too many cover songs, but they do a decent job with Under the Boardwalk. Standouts: There Goes Norman, Under the Boardwalk, What's With Terry Others: Hypnotised, and everything else! Third listen: 3/5 & 3/5 the first two times. Rating: 4/5
Yes, it's long (that's what she said!), but it's good (she said that also!). I have fallen in love with this album over the past couple years. Each song is pretty special to me. Standouts: just the first 69 songs! Rating: 5/5
2.5
"I'm afraid you're just too darn loud." - Huey Lewis (Back to the Future) As a 15 year old in 1982, I would have really been into this. But, now I'm a 55 year old and this doesn't appeal to me the same as it would have back then. I do know Run to the Hills and The Number of the Beast. It is really a great early heavy metal sound and Iron Maiden is really unique. It was always just a little harder than I was really ever into. I can appreciate it for what it is and know that this album is really important to some people. Songs like, Children of the Damned, seem to be more my speed to rock. I enjoyed that one much more that some of the others. This is my first time hearing the album as a whole, it won't be the last, but I really need to be in the right mood to get into it. 3/5
Hate this album. Love me some Ice-T on SVU but, this is a disgrace. Horrible example for young black kids that are too impressionable. Yes, I am old white dude, but I do love rap and hip hop - when it is done right. If zero stars was an option Id’ give it that. 0/5, maybe .5/5, but my rating will unfortunately be a 1/5….
Very nice sound. I've heard this album a few times and am just now getting into it. I think it could be something I'd definitely listen to more in the future. Standouts: Two Weeks, Southern Point, All We ask Rating: 3.5/5
Above average Standouts: Stand, Orange Crush, Pop Song '89 Singles: -------------------------------- Orange Crush (#1 US Alt & #1 Rock, #28 UK) Stand (#1 US Alt & #1 US Rock, #6 USA, #48 UK) Pop Song '89 (US Alt, #16, US Rock #14, USA #86) Get up (Failed to get up on the charts). Rating: 3.5
Best Marvin Gaye album ever. Hands down. Start to finish this is great. Standouts: What's Going On, Mercy Mercy Me, Inner City Blues 3.5/5
Finally! I've been waiting for this album on the list. I used to think that Genius of Love and Wordy Rappinghood were two of the most ingenious songs of the 80s! Brilliant unique sound and I have wanted to hear the rest of the album. Standouts: Genius of Love, Wordy Rappinghood Others: L'éléphant Rating: 3.5
Cool Jazz
The psychedelic folk style was something that immediately sounded good to me. I've heard the name Syd Barrett but didn't know any of the songs. The first few songs on the album stand out more to me than some of the others. 3.5
Very good! Standouts: While You See a Chance, Arc of a Diver, Others: Spanish Dancer, Second-Hand Woman, Slowdown Sundown, Night Train, Dust Score: 4/5
I just can't get into Joni Mitchell.... It seems nice and maybe if I was exposed to it when it came out I'd feel differently.... 3/5
Heard this album about a year ago, don't care for it. Today, I'm thinking this is pretty great. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to hear it again. 3.5
Debut Album by Throwing Muses. From Rhode Island, USA. One great song: The Calvary Cross. The the other songs are better than average folk songs. 3/5
Third listen: 2 and 3 the first two times. It gets better each time I hear it. I still don't think it is great, but I'm coming around. 3.5/5
Really good Reggae. I have heard the name, Peter Tosh, but don't think I have ever heard any of these songs. They are not hard core Reggae, but more on the softer side and I really liked it. I look forward to getting to know this one better. 3/5 for now.

Fantastic! Brings back some memories!
Quality music, just not really exciting for me. 3/5
Third listen. It's interesting, but after three times, I'm getting over the interesting aspect. Now, it's just ok. Only so much of the Cookie Monster singings 80s rock songs I can stand! LOL. 3/5
It’s on the list of lowest rated albums in this project. I think it is better than that, but only slightly. I can tolerate this much more than some of the other crap that this list contains. I’d say i like it better than at least 300 other albums i’ve heard. I still don’t think it deserves to take a spot on this list. There are thousands of albums that are better than this one….. it is unique though. And if their goal is to expose us to music that we would have never sought out…then they succeeded. Standouts: Haha, that’s funny. There are no standouts….. 3/5
2.5
From Austin, Texas, USA Their first album. People either love or hate the jug sound effect. For me…..i didn’t even notice it, so I guess I don’t mind it. Singles: ------------------------------------- You're Gonna Miss Me (#55 USA) Reverberation (Doubt) (#129 USA) Standouts: You’re Going To Miss Me, Splash 1, Rating: 3/5
Third listen. 2.5 last time. It is short and simple. Not bad for the genre. The song Afghanistan seemed years ahead of its time. 3.5/5
1/5. Ignorant, misogynistic, crap.
Terrific jazzy, soulful album! All the songs are great. I think H2Ogate Blues is probably my least favorite because it takes away from the flow of the rest of the album. All and all it is such a pleasure to listen to! 4/5
Good, but nothings stands out. I would probably never seek it out to listen to again.
Sleater-Kinney is from Washington, USA Genre: Punk rock, blues rock Singles: --------------------------------------------- One More Hour (#153 UK) Little Babies (#147 UK) I like the guitars a lot, but the singing not so much! Borderline annoying voice. Standouts: Little Babies, One More Hour. Rating: 3/5

They were one of the biggest things on the planet when this came out. A lot of very good songs here.it is more of a fun/nostalgic album than it is great/quality. I can probably think of 1001 albums that are not on this list that are better than this one.... She has a famous sister.... After I cut out all the stupid interludes the album was much nicer to listen to. Still not deserving of a spot on this list. Standout: Where Do We Go Singles: ------------------------------ Cranes in the Sky (#74 USA) 2.5

2.5/5 Ok.
Something nice about it. 3/5
Just Ok. Kinda forgettable. Third time through the album and it still sounds like something I never heard before in my life. It’s not horrible, but did I really need to hear this? 2.5/5
It’s definitely more alternative than country. I actually thought they were from Ireland after listening to it. Pretty good stuff. I really enjoyed it. It is the kind of music I look forward to hearing again and again. 4/5 Standouts: Hard to Be Human Again, Last Dance, Lost Highway Other very good tracks: Chivalry, Trouble Down South, Darkness and Doubt, Psycho-Cupid, Flitcraft, Country, Abernaut 1984/5

Not for me so much. 2.5
Pretty nice listen 3/5
Better than expected. Still not my cup of tea. Good for what it is. Standout: Daydreaming 2.5
How can this be so hard to identify and find? I think I found the right album to listen to… It’s fine. Old Portuguese music. 2.5 Favorite track: Trio Ao Alvaro.
Perfect Day is one the best songs ever. Walk on the Wild Side is a classic. Favorite Tracks: Perfect Day, Vicious, Walk on the Wild Side, Make Up, Satellite of Love, Wagon Wheel, New York Telephone Conversation, Goodnight Ladies. 4/5
The Message is one of the best Old School Rap songs ever. Some funky songs like She’s Fresh. As soon as It’s Nasty starts it is like…I know this! Think Tom Tom Club. Scorpio is so iconic that there were many songs during the time that used that same formula (sound, beat, electronic voice). They do a great job integrating the It’s a Shame by Stevie Wonder into their own Rap version. Dreamin’ and You Are are great soulful ballads. The bonus song Wheels of Steel is a great remix bonus. Standouts: The Message, Scorpio, It’s a Shame Others: It’s Nasty
She’s so odd and so easy to love and the songs are impossible to sing along with! Stonemilker is crazy beautiful. I felt like I was in a trans listening to it. The video is interesting as well. Black Lake is such a slow burn…it starts pauses, starts again pauses again start again…building tension…starts again. Something so wonderful about the pace of this song. It builds up and just when you think it’s going to take off….it comes back down to the ground and builds up again. What a journey. Favorite tracks: Stonemilker, Black Lake Others: Notget, Quicksand
Singles: ————————————————— Stutter (US Alt #10, UK #80) Line Up (UK #20) Connection (#17 UK, #2 Mod Rock USA) Waking Up (#13 UK) Car Song (#33 US ALT) Standouts: Connection, Stutter, Line Up, Car Song, Waking Up, 3/5

Love Dolly and Linda….Emmylou is really hard to detect her voice. Not much of a fan of the harmonies…. Old style country songs sung by three iconic ladies. Average at best. 3/5
Very Good to Fantastic! 4/5 Standouts: Band on the Run, Jet, Helen Wheels, Mrs. Vandebilt, Nineteen Hundred and Eight Five, Bluebird, Let Me Roll With It, Others: Mamunia, Picasso's Last Words.

Almost not worth listening to. I was intrigued at first. I thought, "This could be interesting" let's see where it goes... Nowhere. That is where it goes. There is not even one thing that can be said as to why this is on this list. Best Track: The Man With the Golden Arm I've heard worse... but this is just above those... 2.5/5
Kind of a long album…. Heard of him, never heard this album. Standouts: Pristeen, Promise Land, If You Loved Me At All, Head, Las Vegas Basement 3/5
Very nice
One of my favorites of the era. 4.5
First time hearing this one. I've heard other Big Star albums and this one doesn't see quite as good. I'll give it more listens - maybe i'll come around. 3/5
4/5! Yeah Boy! Some classics! Don’t Believe the Hype, Bring the Noise, Terminator X to the Edge of Panic and Rebel without a Pause The rest of the songs, I dont know quite as well, but they have that Public Enemy sound!
Never heard this album or any of the songs. Kate Bush is kind of an acquired taste. The music and sound takes time to appreciate. So far, I need more time to fully appreciate it It sounds kind of ‘weird’ at first. Singles: ------------------------------------ "Sat in Your Lap" (#11 UK) "The Dreaming" (#48 UK) "There Goes a Tenner" (#93, UK) "Suspended in Gaffa" (FR, NL, ESP top 40) "Night of the Swallow" (DNC) Rating: 2.5
Never heard of them before. It was pretty decent. Need to hear it again sometime. 2.5/5
Raga Rock, Rock with an Indian influence. Covers Jumping Jack Flash and Light My Fire very well. The rest of the album is sweet and easy to listen to and enjoy - with or without a doobie. 3/5
Not my style. 2.5
Its ok 3/5
It's nice
I LOVE Metallica. This album doesn't do it for me. I know I should love it, but I don't. It's too long, and good songs are changed.... still better than a lot of other albums on this list. 3.5/5
Move along folks...nothing to see here. Never heard of them. More folk rock.... do we really need this? 2.5

First time hearing this one. I like the sound. Standouts: A&E, Happiness, Caravan Girl Singles: ----------------------------------------- "A&E" "Happiness" "Caravan Girl" "Clowns" 3/5
U2s first two albums were good but WAR is the one that really did it for them and made the known world-wide! Standouts: Sunday Bloody Sunday, New Years Day, 40, Two Hearts Beat as One, Seconds. 4/5
Don't know them.... seems relevant for the time. 3/5
It isn't bad. Some of the songs are starting to sound pretty good. 3/5
Average to slightly above average. Nothing very interesting...nothing really bad. It's just there. I listened, then I said. OK. What's next? Standouts: Nothing really. 3/5
Long, repetitive. Best songs: Heroes 2/5
Ummm. I think I need to hear that again. Kind of like Frank Zappa (in a way....). 2.5
It's an odd one.... nothing really exciting here. Might get better with time, we'll see. 2.5
If there was more mellow stuff like Lonely Women and December's Boudoir, I'd probably enjoy it more. The upbeat stuff like Lucky and Lu didn't do anything for me. Eli's Comin' I know only because Three Dog Night remade it and made it a classic. Most enjoyable tracks: Lonely Women, Eli's Comin', Timer, Stone Cold Picnic, Emmie, and December's Boudoir. Some decent songs, but overall it didn't do much for me. Maybe if I knew it when it came out I'd feel differently. 2.5/5
Really good. 3.5/5 Standouts: Back in the Saddle, Last Child Others: Home Tonight
It's fine. Maybe a 3/5 at best.
I was not expecting to like this. I was wrong. Very smooth. I love her voice. A perfect album. I wish i knew it better. 3.5/5
Very average. 2.5/5
Sad. Bleak, Somber. But still very nice to listen to. Standouts: Guess I'm Doing Fine, Lost Cause 4/5
Not great...not bad..not much to say. I guess 3/5
HATE the sound. Makes my skin crawl. I like country music but this is too twangy for me. 2/5
When I first seen this album come up I honestly rolled my eyes. Then I looked at the track list. Fever, that’s one I know. Not by Elvis, but I know it. The album was a real surprise. Great stereo sounds. I was really impresses. Best tracks: Fever 3.5
Standouts: I’m Going to Spain, The League of Bald headed Men, Why are People Grudgeful 3.5/5
Interesting sound. Standouts: Brimful of Asha 3.5/5
First time hearing this one. Never heard of the band before. Born to Go is their most well-known song. According to the Classic Rock History website, they ranked it as the #1 Hawkwind track. It definitely rocks. The rest of the album....well, I think if you are high you might get into it. I'll pass on the LSD and pass on this album. 2.5
4/5 Standouts: Sunny Afternoon, Party Line, Dandy, Very catchy songs.
Iconic sound. An album without any hit singles and the only song that it among the typical lists of greatest Queen songs, is Seven Seas of Rhye. The album does stand out as uniquely Queen. The guitars of Brian May and the Vocals of Freddie Mercury are undeniable! Standouts: Seven Seas of Rhye, Father to Son, White Queen (As it Began), The Loser in the End, Funny How Love Is. 4/5
It starts strong with some really nice and catchy songs. I liked it much more than I was expecting. One Two Cha Cha Cha was really fun. 3
Eat while eating a big juicy hamburger. the US version contains, How Soon is Now? Which is the best Smith’s song, IMO. The rest of the album is full of known Smith’s songs. They just aren’t really spectacular to the non-smith fans… 3.5/5
Standout: Sanctuary
Outstanding. A true classic of its era. A Ton of great songs. 4.5/5
First time hearing this album and I never heard of the band either. The album doesn't have very good ratings from the critics, so I went in thinking it probably wouldn't be too good. My initial impression: I do like their sound and energy. The drums mostly and the lead singer's smoky voice. This seems to be an album that could be completely forgettable, or a classic of the genre. I think it will just take more time to get to know it. Bullet Proof Cupid is probably the most well known song from the album. Is it enough to carry the album? Solid 2.5/5. But, I think it has potential.
Above average country. Standouts: Too Far Gone, If I Could Only Win Your Love, Coat of Many Colors, For No One. 3/5
Interesting. Brilliant. Standouts: Time, Downtown Train, 3.5

Outstanding: 4/5 It's a live album (and really a greatest hits album). Standouts: Child in Time, Smoke on the Water, Highway Star, Lazy, Space Truckin'
3.5 Good album. Nice to relax to. Recorded live and there are people talking during the performance which is distracting.
Not a fan or her style or voice, but I can definitely see how she is so liked by the critics. I just really don't care for the old twangy county music.... Best Tracks: Black Coffee, Shadowland 2.5
Standouts: Bittersweet Symphony, The Drugs Don’t Work, Sonnet, Lucky Man 3.5
3.5 Very good.
Interesting sound. Never heard them before. 3/5

Classic Velvet Underground. Standouts: Femme Fatale, Sunday Morning, Others: I'll Be Your Mirror, I'm Waiting for the Man, All Tomorrow's Parties, Heroin, There She Goes Again,
This one took a while to enjoy. I thought it was pretty bad at first. But, it got better. With more listens I'll probably find it rates a better score, but for now it will have to be a 3.5 because it is still very new to me. I will definitely come back to it again.
Horrible album cover, luckily for it the contents within are much better. 3.5 / 5
Wow. Really liked it. Never heard of them before. Little bit sounding like Peter Gabriel at times. This is a gem. 3/5

I am sure that in 1964 this was played on many record players in many homes like you would see in an episode of MAD MEN. The Girl from Ipanema is CLASSIC bosa nova - Perfection. Standouts: The Girl From Ipanema All the rest of the songs are beautiful, although completely unknown to me. If you want a nice easy listening bosa nova album, this is probably the best. 4/5
Really not my kind of music. I do like country music, but this is more bluegrass classics and that's not my thing. There are some songs I did enjoy more than the others... Keep on Sunny Side, Wreck on the Highway, Nine Pound Hammer, Honky Tonkin', Lost Highway, Will the Circle be Unbroken, Both Sides Now (Don't really know why this was included on the album)., Foggy Mountain Breakdown. By the end I wanted to rip my ears off. Still it's a 3/5

5/5 Perfection
Kind of a difficult one to enjoy. It is interesting. It is music that really kind of either puts you in a trance or bores you to tears. 3/5
3.5 Really nice!
A little on the boring side, but not horrible. 3/5
Garage Rock/Punk Rock 2001-style. Standouts: Hate to Say I Told You So 3.5
Really great listen. 4/5
An album that sounds like it is from 1968. I do enjoy the split stereo sound that many artists used back then. I have always heard of the band, and I know a couple of their songs. Going in to this one, I didn't recognize any of the song titles. Lazy Sunday was somewhat recognizable... Of all the songs on the album, it really stands out as the 'funest' / best track on the album. Standouts: Lazy Sunday Others: Afterglow of Your Love, Mad John, Song of a Baker, Rollin' Over, Rene, Happiness Stan, Ogden Nut Gone Flake It was a fun listen. I'd throw it in a playlist of other late-60s bands like the Kinks. 3.5 / 5

Kenza, from Algeria Genre: Rai, Algerian Folk Music Not a fan of Arabic-style music... I currently live in an Arab country (for work) and do have some influences here. This is an album that I can just easily pass it by and not ever miss it. It is worth listening to though. There are some nice styles and sounds. I have a little more appreciation for the style of music now. I like the mix of Arabic, French and familiar versions of songs... Will I listen to it again? Hmmmm.... maybe not... but, I should. Especially the "best tracks" listed below... Best tracks: El Harba Wine, C'est la nuit, Imagine, Imagine shouldn't work but does. It is a beautiful version flawlessly sung as a duet. 3.5/5

I hate live albums sometimes….. this one isn't great. I the music would be better recoded in the studio. Loud, raucous, rock and roll from 1969…. Thats the big surprise. Sounds like a decade early. It isn't bad, i don’t think its really my thing, but I see how people like it. 3/5
The first time I heard the album I was like, "shoot me now" I don't want to listen to this again...2nd time, I thought, "it's not too bad, but nothing special". Fantastic! Standout: I Want You Everything else is great! 4/5
Such a difficult one to listen to. It sounds so bad. Highlight of the album is Jet'M, the cover of the Serge Gainsbourg song "Je t'aime... moi non plus"... It is barely recognizable.... 2/5
It's really good, but by the end I had enough reggae! 3.5

Known for the Song Halleluiah, Jeff Buckley, is the son of Tim Buckley. Both father and son died at a very young age. Tim of drug overdose and Jeff from drowning. Great song, one after another! Standouts: Mr. Brightside, All These Things That I've Done, Smile Like You Mean it, Somebody Told Me, Andy You're a Star, Jenny Was a Friend of Mine. 4.5
US Edition or UK edition? They are significantly different. I did the US edition since it is the one that came up when I searched for it. First, I don't like it when bands do a number of cover songs on their LPs unless they do something interesting with it. In this case, The Rolling Stones, just sing other people's popular songs and while I know it is Mick Jagger singing, there is nothing interesting about any of the cover versions. They get bumped down a bit for that. There is only one original song on the LP. 3.5
Standouts: Proud Mary, Born on a Bayou, Bootleg,

Genre: Psychedelic pop, dream pop, indie pop, noise pop Standouts: Don't Cry, Revival, Sailing, Memory Boy, He Would Have Laughed. 4/5
Surprisingly enjoyable. The songs have samples(?) or very familiar tunes that really make the album good. Standouts: Ancodia (L-O-V-E Love), Cobra Bora ("The Hustle"), Pacific 202 (a.k.a. Pacific State). For an electronic album that I didn't like at all the first few times I heard it, I am really getting into it now. I'm somewhere between 3.5 and 4.0....
Standouts: Howling for You, Tighten Up, Solid: 4/5
I really like Nick Cave's style. This is such a beautiful album. 4/5
River of Orchids is an amazing opening track. Never heard it before, but it is incredible. The whole album gives me Beatles-vibes. Standouts: River of Orchids, I'd Like That, Your Dictionary 4.25
This one took a long time for me to start to like. It's not a style of music that I knew much about. Standouts: Some Kind of Kink, Keeping Pigs Together, Shellback 3.5
Absolute classic 5/5
Insert Vomit emoji here. A disgrace to the English language. The most tolerable song is "Back Like That" then you listen to the lyrics and it's disgraceful. I would have died a better person without hearing this crap. 1/5 when I first heard it, three time later, it's still 1/5.
Always been a fan of Fatboy Slim, but I don't know this album! Where have I been? Ok, it's not nearly as good as the others I know, but it is still good. There is a time and place where this album really fits. Standouts: Going Out of My Head, Song For Lindy, Everybody Needs a 303, Punk to Funk. 3.5
Loud. Yes, sometimes loud is good. Really, I have to be in the mood to listen to stuff like this. Generally, it isn't something I listen to anymore. But, if I am in the mood, this would definitely do the trick. Standout: Hollow (because it is mellow, and that I was in the mood for). 3/5
Oh this was good. Standouts: Moondance, Crazy Love, And it Stoned Me, Come Running,
Hip-Hop from 2000. Hip hop? Really? Mike Ladd is from Boston, MA, USA. I would have figured he was British because he was on this list, and I never heard of him.... Oh, wait, he's based in Paris... that explains it! I liked: 5000 Miles West of the Future, 3.5
I usually really like this kind of music, but this one I just haven't been able to get into. It's the first time I've heard it, so I'll probably give it more time. 2.5 for now.
Genre: Progressive pop, psychedelia, avant-pop, R&B 1973 Very interesting album. One great song runs right into another.... Fantastic! Not a fan of Cool Jerk as part of an otherwise very nice R&B Medley. Standouts: The entire side 1 especially Zen Archer. Sometimes I Don't Know What to Feel, I'm So Proud (best part of the Medley), I Don't Want to Tie You Down, Just One Victory. 4/5
2.5 Really nothing special here.
Yet another English band I've never heard of. His voice reminds me of Sting at times. Wow. Really liking this one. Standouts: Starlings, The Bones of You, Mirrorball, Grounds for Divorce, The Fix, We're Away. Really all the songs are very good. I enjoyed this album very much. Never heard of them before but now I'm glad I listened. 3.5
First listen, I wasn't impressed.... after a while I really started liking it. Standouts: (Hey, You) What's That Sound?, Music Makes You Lose Control, Dreamin', From Disco to Disco, Sometimes, Jacques Your Body (Make Me Sweat). 4/5
Metal. Heavy or speed... play loud. It's good for what it is, not something I'd play often anymore. Standouts: Caught in a Mosh, Indians, I Am the Law, 3.5
I thought it was decent when I first heard it, but as I became familiar with it, I really started liking it. Overall I am very favorable. I will listen again, I will include many tracks on playlists. 4/5
Fantastic listen.
99% Brilliant. 4.5
Heard this one before. Last time I listened to it I really liked the sound. It is definitely better played LOUD with headphones on. Standouts: Tracy's Flaw, Good Things Don't Always Come to You, You'll Follow Me Down. 3.5 on a good day.
Really dislike her voice and the way she stretches out each note... Unlistenable. 2/5
Psychedelic Rock from 1967. Never heard of Moby Grape before. Standouts: 8:05, Sitting By The Window, Someday, Mr. Blues, Fall On You, Naked if I Want to, Ain't No Use, 3.75

Anvil Everything, At the Farm, Burnished, Bess St., Drug. Standouts: At the Farm, Anvil Everything, Is and Is and Is. Very enjoyable first time. 3/5
This is another album that listening to it once (for a day) just isn't enough. I barely feel like I got to know it at all yet. There are no catchy tunes, nothing you'll find yourself hummming later on in the day. It's a nice album though. Solid 3/5
Singles: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Who Is It (Carry My Joy on the Left, Carry My Pain on the Right) Triumph of a Heart Probably the most listenable Bjork album - with just a little bit of Bjork-weirdness. I like this one. Standouts: Who is it, Where is the Line, Pleasure is All Mine, Triumph of a Heart, Oll birtan. 4/5

Genre: Jungle, drum and bass 1996 It starts with a quote from Ferris Bueller's Day Off. It is definitely an album that you can listen to and enjoy, or play it in the background and hardly notice it is there. Both are perfectly fine. The sounds are fresh and interesting. If you're not into it, then you would find it boring - but still good for an elevator ride or a listen while you study.... Where does one song end and the next begin? Hard to rate any individual tracks on this album. Rating: 3.5

1972, Progressive rock 5th studio album by YES Single: And You and I This album is the definition of Prog rock. Whether that is good or bad is determined by how much prog rock is your thing.
