1001 Albums Summary

A solid indie rock record. Reminded me of TV on the Radio for some reason.

This band has been hit or miss for me. This is a fine record. Just not sure about all the hype around this band.

60s/70s blues rock. Had some interesting moments. Between a 3 and a 4 for me.

Of the modern bands that sound a bit like Springsteen or Tom Petty, this is my least favorite so far. Boring, was happy when it was over.

Good listen. I missed this album when it came out. I thought Worth It was a stand out.

Just didn't work for me. Too slow and wasn't a fan of his voice.

Something for hardcore fans. I don't think these were the best versions of these songs.

Just wasn't for me. Thought some of the beats were interesting.

The first song was kind of cute and funny. The rest of the album was rough. The male singer was just bad. The songs were boring.

Hip Hop sci fi nerds... unexpected. If you liked one song, you probably liked all of them because there isn't a lot of variation.

This is a good album. I'd listened to it several times when it came out. May have enjoyed it even more on this listen.

Outside of Black Hen, this was a really good listen. Solid folk/country album.

Seemed like a straight down the middle hard rock record. Wasn't impressed by the Smith's cover.

all you need is the greatest hits. Individual Queen albums are not worth your time.

70s blues rock. felt generic. "Love Song to Me" was a low point.

Long, but it kept my attention. Not usually a fan of hip hop but I dug this album.

Fun noisy garage rock.

I mean I like the sopranos song. The country/edm mixed was too country for me.

Better then i was expecting. Very Pop. He has a good voice for it.

Pretty solid folk album. Hadn't listened to this band much outside of Not.

Noisy and Loud. On a different day this might have been a 4. Really disliked seasick though.

It wasn't bad to have on but I didn't really notice it.

The singles hold up. I'd say they're just as catchy now as when this record came out. The album cuts definitely show their age and brought down the listening experience for me.

I have a soft spot for Cake. This record has the right mix of nostalgia and singles for me. I remember they used to play a bunch of these songs over the end credits for Daria.

I liked the hard rock/metal cover of Prelude to Madness. The rest of the album was for more hardcore fans of the genre.

An artist I've listened to before and will again. A refreshing hour of pop-punk.

Sounded like they were cosplaying an 80s metal band.

Glossy Pop. I enjoyed the singles.

I don't think this would be a frequent listen for me. But it kept my attention. I preferred the bits that leaned more on rockabilly then hip hop.

I guess i was expecting the pop punk fun of Fat Lip and I got a more metal inspired record.... Didn't like it at all.

This album was huge for me when it came out. Listened to it on repeat for most of a summer. Still great. Enjoyed the excuse to re-listen to it.

It was fine. Mostly background noise.

A lot of nostalgia for those singles. The rest of the album is a little long. Maybe a 3.5

I know it's preppy college kids doing world beat, but I really like their first 2 albums. Just a happy fun record for me.

Seemed like I needed to know the artist and all of the guests to enjoy this record. I'm sure it's someone's fantasy Avengers Team up, but it didn't do much for me.

Live albums are for fans. This takes all their best songs from the first 3 albums and mashes them together. Everything comes out Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.

I listened to a pre-mixed version. I never had the setup to listen to 4 CDs at once. This is a experimental and weird album. Not bad, but not my favorite Flaming Lips.

Something about this really reminded me of the Talking Heads. It's not a great Talking Heads album. Not sure i know enough about King Crimson to compare it to their albums.

Enjoyable. Thought Phantom Limb was the standout track.

I listened the US version which looks like it has a pretty different track listing from the UK/Jamaica release. Wasn't bad. Seemed like a standard reggae album from the era.

A bunch of quirky dance songs. Found a sweet spot for me.

Not a fan of the lead singer's voice. The songs kept getting worse.

I like primus in small doses. About halfway through the charm and novelty had worn off.

It was fine, didn't mind having it on. Thought Red Cave was the best song which is weird for a 'hidden' track.

Cornflake girl is pretty great. Something about her music makes it seems like i'm invading someone's privacy. Like eavesdropping on a therapy session. This isn't music for me but I liked it more then the last time I heard this album.

Fine. this wouldn't be my go to if i wanted to listen to New Order.

This is a giant pop record. It was inescapable for a while. I'm excited to see what she does next.

I was one of those loser hipsters that stopped listening during the 'Float On' era. But man, I listened to this album a ton in my dorm room. This was a great excuse to revisit this album. Still packs a punch.

While i like Homework and Human better, this is still a good album. If you're a fan of the music, I recommend Interstella 5555. It's really puts the album into context.
