A solid indie rock record. Reminded me of TV on the Radio for some reason.
This band has been hit or miss for me. This is a fine record. Just not sure about all the hype around this band.
60s/70s blues rock. Had some interesting moments. Between a 3 and a 4 for me.
Of the modern bands that sound a bit like Springsteen or Tom Petty, this is my least favorite so far. Boring, was happy when it was over.
Good listen. I missed this album when it came out. I thought Worth It was a stand out.
Just didn't work for me. Too slow and wasn't a fan of his voice.
Something for hardcore fans. I don't think these were the best versions of these songs.
Just wasn't for me. Thought some of the beats were interesting.
The first song was kind of cute and funny. The rest of the album was rough. The male singer was just bad. The songs were boring.
Hip Hop sci fi nerds... unexpected. If you liked one song, you probably liked all of them because there isn't a lot of variation.
This is a good album. I'd listened to it several times when it came out. May have enjoyed it even more on this listen.
It was just on. Wasn't bad in the background.
Outside of Black Hen, this was a really good listen. Solid folk/country album.
Seemed like a straight down the middle hard rock record. Wasn't impressed by the Smith's cover.
I didn't get it.
Really liked this. Sort of reminded me of Elliot Smith.
all you need is the greatest hits. Individual Queen albums are not worth your time.
70s blues rock. felt generic. "Love Song to Me" was a low point.
Long, but it kept my attention. Not usually a fan of hip hop but I dug this album.
Fun noisy garage rock.
I mean I like the sopranos song. The country/edm mixed was too country for me.
Better then i was expecting. Very Pop. He has a good voice for it.
Solid rock album from our friends in the north.
Couldn't get into it.
Maybe a 2.5 . It was better then i expected but still wasn't my thing.
Pretty solid folk album. Hadn't listened to this band much outside of Not.
Middle of the road rock album. Nothing stood out to me.
A mix of two genres I don't enjoy.
Bland music with a bad singer.
Some interesting bits. not sure if I'd re-listen
I don't think I get Zappa. I guess someone finds a concept album about yellow snow funny.
Noisy and Loud. On a different day this might have been a 4. Really disliked seasick though.
It wasn't bad to have on but I didn't really notice it.
The singles hold up. I'd say they're just as catchy now as when this record came out. The album cuts definitely show their age and brought down the listening experience for me.
I have a soft spot for Cake. This record has the right mix of nostalgia and singles for me. I remember they used to play a bunch of these songs over the end credits for Daria.
crooner music but in french
I liked the hard rock/metal cover of Prelude to Madness. The rest of the album was for more hardcore fans of the genre.
An artist I've listened to before and will again. A refreshing hour of pop-punk.
Didn't do much for me.
Sounded like they were cosplaying an 80s metal band.
Boring and at times annoying.
Pure sugar and I was happy to listen to it. Can't believe there hasn't been a new album since 2010.
Better then Tommy. Just wasn't my favorite Who.
Glossy Pop. I enjoyed the singles.
I don't think this would be a frequent listen for me. But it kept my attention. I preferred the bits that leaned more on rockabilly then hip hop.
Good listen. wasn't a fan of the other singer on Swallowtail
I guess i was expecting the pop punk fun of Fat Lip and I got a more metal inspired record.... Didn't like it at all.
This album was huge for me when it came out. Listened to it on repeat for most of a summer. Still great. Enjoyed the excuse to re-listen to it.
It was fine. Mostly background noise.
A lot of nostalgia for those singles. The rest of the album is a little long. Maybe a 3.5
Wasn't bad, but it's not the 70s punk record I would reach for.
It was fine. without understanding the lyrics it just became background.
Enjoyable pop punk
At no point did I find this enjoyable.
Maybe not ground breaking but definitely enjoyable.
A fine punk album that never got great.
I know it's preppy college kids doing world beat, but I really like their first 2 albums. Just a happy fun record for me.
Seemed like I needed to know the artist and all of the guests to enjoy this record. I'm sure it's someone's fantasy Avengers Team up, but it didn't do much for me.
Another jazz record.
reminded me of Frightened Rabbit in a good way.
Doing Big Star almost as good as Big Star.
It was fine. Had a real 80s feel to it.
A favorite of mine. Probably their best album. Really thought this was on the main list. Had to check my history.
An ok 70s rock album.
A solid 90s rock record.
Hard rate for me. Better then I was expecting. Talented musicians and some interesting songs. But i don't see listening to this again.
Wasn't great and then every song ends in a skit.
Was an ok folk/country record
Felt like a gimmick.
Live albums are for fans. This takes all their best songs from the first 3 albums and mashes them together. Everything comes out Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.
Just wasn't for me.
A good indie rock record. i'd listen to it again.
Didn't like the singer's voice. I guess the music was ok.
Wasn't bad, but it just became background to me.
Big 80s sound. Liked a few of the singles.
I liked this the more I listened to it.
Is this a bit? is there something i'm missing?
Very 80s. Very Prog. Didn't connect for me.
felt like a self indulgent side project.
Bad band name, bad album name. Good listen though.
Wasn't a fan when this came out. The songs all sounded the same. Not the best of the indie folk scene
It did what it was designed to do. Really mellow music that fades into the background.
A big sprawling blend of psychedelic and progressive rock. Tired me out by the end. Will not re-listen.
It's shallow glossy pop that was everywhere for awhile. Some nostalgia for the singles though.
Didn't like the vocals. The music was alright.
Didn't do anything from me.
More experimental then the songs she produced for other artists. More interesting then enjoyable for me.
Had real frat boy vibes. Seems like I'm missing something. Didn't think this band would be big enough for MSG but the crowd seems to be loving it.
Not much of an RnB fan. Whatever vocal effect their using really grated on me.
Solid rock album. reminded me a little of Queens of the Stone Age.
Not bad, not sure i'd listen again.
between a 3 and a four. We'll see how i'm feeling tomorrow.
a solid shoegaze album. Souvlaki Space Station was a stand out for me.
twangy country that didn't work for me
Some quality rainy morning folk music. Might have to listen to this again.
I was so bored by this.
I listened to this when it came out. I think I liked it better on the second listen. Not my favorite cure album.
This was a pretty good punk album.
Didn't really do anything for me. Too long as well.
Bland pop music, also in French.
Weird record. Occasionally it would get good but then go back to being jazz.
I listened to a pre-mixed version. I never had the setup to listen to 4 CDs at once. This is a experimental and weird album. Not bad, but not my favorite Flaming Lips.
Something about this really reminded me of the Talking Heads. It's not a great Talking Heads album. Not sure i know enough about King Crimson to compare it to their albums.
Enjoyable. Thought Phantom Limb was the standout track.
Another solid War on Drugs record.
A lo-fi 90s version of 60 rock. It wasn't bad, but it was missing something for me. Probably a 3 and a half.
An ok country/folk record. Never got great for me.
Better then i was expecting. Blended into the background after a while.
I didn't get it. Not sure why there's so much hype around Doom.
Just wasn't for me. Something about it seemed inauthentic
I couldn't get past the vocals.
Portishead was one of my favorite 'new' bands from the main list. Another great album.
Nu-metal is also bad in other languages. Really disliked this.
I found it boring.
so boring. I guess if you're looking for country music about trains.
standard NOFX.
Bad Frat party music.
Standard pop songs. the second half really dragged.
It's was fine. I had forgot about that Stars song.
Wasn't bad. Not a huge fan of instrumental albums.
Solid listen. Maybe I enjoyed it more because it was the best of a week weak.
Probably won't revisit but it wasn't bad.
Not sure how to describe this. It was a little boring.
Better then i was expecting. It was good background music.
4 hours of scratchy jazz recordings. I guess you like Louis voice or you don't. This was a struggle to get through for me.
A punk concept album about the civil war is a weird pitch for an album. It works though. Enjoyed it when it came out and enjoyed it this listen.
Between a 2 and a 3. I guess there was slightly more i liked then disliked.
This was a fun listen. some good songs on this one.
Of the metal bands that came out at this time, this one always stuck out to me. Chop Suey still rips.
On the line for me. but i could see listening to this again.
I listened the US version which looks like it has a pretty different track listing from the UK/Jamaica release.
Wasn't bad. Seemed like a standard reggae album from the era.
synthy pop. didn't really stand out for me.
Liked it better then the last time i listened to it. Still think it's missing something that their earlier albums had.
Maybe I don't like trance or I just listened to this in the wrong setting. It's hard judging dance music from my office. Overall, it didn't do much for me.
A bunch of quirky dance songs. Found a sweet spot for me.
Not a fan of the lead singer's voice. The songs kept getting worse.
I like primus in small doses. About halfway through the charm and novelty had worn off.
It was fine, didn't mind having it on. Thought Red Cave was the best song which is weird for a 'hidden' track.
Better then I was expecting from being labeled as Doom Metal on wiki. Still didn't like it very much.
Something about this really annoyed me.
This didn't seem like music.
Much like the movie it starts to run out of steam in the last third. Still some great songs on this. I have a hard time judging it on its own merits at this point. A lot of memories tied up in watching and listening to this.
I listened to this a lot when it came out. I'd still recommend it to people even though i skip a few of the songs that make me too sad.
Different from what i was expecting. Wasn't bad, but probably won't listen again.
Not interesting. Hide and Seek is awful.
It's just less good They Might Be Giants. Hated this by the end.
Solid rock record. I could have done without all the skit/fake radio stuff.
Talented musicians and some interesting songs. But i don't see listening to this again.
Not bad for a jazz record
Some quality pop punk.
Cornflake girl is pretty great. Something about her music makes it seems like i'm invading someone's privacy. Like eavesdropping on a therapy session. This isn't music for me but I liked it more then the last time I heard this album.
Fine. this wouldn't be my go to if i wanted to listen to New Order.
This is a giant pop record. It was inescapable for a while. I'm excited to see what she does next.
Seemed standard for the time. kind of boring.
I was one of those loser hipsters that stopped listening during the 'Float On' era. But man, I listened to this album a ton in my dorm room. This was a great excuse to revisit this album. Still packs a punch.
Trash
Didn't connect with this at all.
Unbearable. So Much Worse then I expected.
It's weird this wasn't on the main list. A true classic. Enjoyed the excuse to re-listen to it.
They put out 20+ albums of this? boggles the mind.
Not my favorite Wilco album. Still a good listen.
Never really got into Beat Happening. Really enjoyed this mix of lofi and indie pop. Will listen again.
While i like Homework and Human better, this is still a good album. If you're a fan of the music, I recommend Interstella 5555. It's really puts the album into context.
It's an enjoyable listen. Maybe hit harder with the news.
Was ok. I liked the other Depeche Mode records better.
So the whole album was about monkeys... It's nerd rock not as good as TMBG.
90s alt rock. wasn't bad
Wasn't a fan of the show. Was weird to listen to the music on its own.
Fine
Not sure i understood it.
Too safe. Too polished.
Didn't do anything for me. Boring and self indulgent.
Not much for R&B. this was fine.
Weirdly nerdy.
