Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs
Derek & The Dominos
The whole album has the classic rock sound that seems to be present across the decade but is really refined here. The guitar solos are epic and amazing. Overall most of the tracks seem to drag on longer than they need with the same riff repeating too many times. The title track "Layla" is great with a wonderful transition into a softer more melancholy tone. The closer for the album also is a beautiful sendoff. Overall the album was good, but each track was a little long.

Catch A Fire
Bob Marley & The Wailers
This was my first experience with both Reggae and Bob Marley. A very groovy album the whole way through. The calm nature was delightful and the message of needing to overcome and love was appreciated overall a great album, and will be listening to more soon.

The Atomic Mr Basie
Count Basie & His Orchestra
This album is able to capture a lot of different feelings over it's runtime. From epic upbeat big band sounds to more slow and intimate conversations. Truly an album with a track for any stage of a fancy evening. The album has a whole has a very familiar sound, with less of the experimentation of jazz. The solos are incredible and a really loved "Duet". Overall, very good but maybe not something I will be revisiting often.

Brilliant Corners
Thelonious Monk
This album was very good. Jazz is often thought of as background music, easy to listen too and forget about. Brilliant corners is not that. With complex rhythms and musical structures I found myself entranced and pulled to give the music my full attention at multiple points across its short runtime.

Doolittle
Pixies
This is the first album that was generated that I had listened too before. It is also the first album that fit my musical tastes prior. I love this album it has a lot of the pixies biggest hits, it exemplifies the bands sound and is a fun romp the whole way through. The instrumentation is iconic and would be the inspiration for grungier sounds going forward. I have nothing bad to say 5/5.

At San Quentin
Johnny Cash
Johnny Cash is one of the most prolific song writers ever. This live album helps to solidify who he was as a person. The anti jail messaging and the roar of the crowd at a lot to the experience as a whole. With some classics and a few less heard was a great listen.

The Monkees
I did not care for this album. It has some good lyrics and some interesting instrumentation but was overall very flat to me and not my favorite.

I enjoyed this album. The tracks were fun to sing along too and reminded me a lot of the killers for some reason.

This album was interesting. very experimental in the early tracks but mostly engaging. Something I am glad to have listened to, but would probably not listen to again.
