The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
David BowieWell, one of the greatest albums of all time, and listen to this again, you can really see why.
Well, one of the greatest albums of all time, and listen to this again, you can really see why.
One of the best albums of the 90s, took the best out of the grunge movement and mixed it with the My Bloody Valentine to make a great album! Billy Corgan is at his absolute best with this album! As are Jimmy Chamberlin, James Iha, and D'arcy Wretzky, they got something special with this. There are no massive weak points during this album and the non-singles are just as good as the singles Tonight, Tonight, and Zero, have been the very high points of this album while being very different songs! You can see this album as a blueprint for a lot of new indie bands coming out now, especially for the likes of NewDad The one weakness is, that it is probably 4 or 5 songs too long, but I can always forgive that on a double album, it is rare you will find a double album that you feel isn't to long.
When it's good, it's really good! Some songs can be a bit hit-and-miss and feel overproduced, but the fact Alanis Morissette was only 20/21 when she wrote these songs, is amazing. But this album has had such a massive impact on the musical world and I feel that Sinéad O'Connor, The Lion and the Cobra is far ahead of this album and should have had the praise that this album received Perfect though, I would live a happy life not to hear that song again! But it is a great album all the same!
Dont know enough about to jazz to really give a proper verdict! But from an uneducated ear, I enjoy, nice relaxing, puts you at ease!
It's Bob Marley & The Wailers! Not much more to say! Just amazing! My head was bopping throughout the whole album! The lyrics are great, the music is fantastic as are singing! Great rebel/protest songs Fantastic album!
An amazing singer, some of the songs are fantastic. But it does get a bit boring, a lot of the songs are very similar, but this could be down to me not clicking with this album, I can understand why some people would regard this as a masterpiece and would not argue with them if they told me that! I'll be waiting I found it as a personal highlight, could imagine Dusty Springfield or Janis Joplin singing this! But again, that voice is just amazing!
Amazing guitar playing Amazing production Amazing Lyrics Amazing album
The music is very much the reason rock is stalled, boring, and nothing stands out. It's the prototype for Nickelback, it's that post-grunge that is just not good music. The only good thing I have to say about the album, is that it finished.
Well, one of the greatest albums of all time, and listen to this again, you can really see why.
Great folk album. Amazing vocals as you would expect! Overall a great album, as can be very slow (in a good way) and then mix it up with quick up beat song, so the album does never sound the same. The lyrics are amazing, each song tells a story
Moondance has always been one of my favorite albums. I know Astral Weeks is the album everyone puts down as Van Morrison's best album, but this one always stood out to me. There is no song on there that I don't like
Dolly is always great! Sounds great, lyrics are fairly simple. The music is what you would expect from a country westren album.
It is a great concept album, very ahead of its time, and reminds me of Queens of the Stone Ages, album Songs for the Deaf. Where there there are little bits in it to, make you think you are listening to the radio. Keith Moon and John Entwistle are there as always the back bone to The Who. Explosive rhythm section that never makes The Who boring. Pete Townshends guitar playing and lyrics are much approved from previous albums. Rodger Daltrey, is becoming more in his vocals, I can see for Miles, been the high point of the album. All comes together for this rock classic. Moon keeps the beat going aggressively, along with Entwistle's smooth bass playing. Townshend's guitar work is great as it does not take over the song, it does enough to let the song stand out, while also having its own moments. Daltrey's voice is perfect for the song. In all a very solid album and can see it is the first step in Townshend becoming more confident in his ideas, which will lead to Tommy.

A great album! You can see Damon Albarn coming more into his own in this album, which will lead him to become one of the greatest musicians of the last 30 years! The album has more of a punk feel, with a lot of heavy bass from Alex James, which gives it that punk vibe. There are still some songs that you can hear that are very Britpop, but you can see Blur is so much more than a Britpop band, they explore different types of genres. The flaw it has, as it explores these genres, the album is a bit uneven, going from Pressure on Julian to Star Shaped, is very jarring! But that does not take away from what a great album is! As the likes of For Tomorrow and Oily Water, are just amazing tracks!
All I can say, it is a breath taking album. No flaws, beats are amazing Lyrics are amazing Music is unreal!
There is a revolution in Ireland now with Irish music! Lankum, Kneecap, The Mary Wallopers, The Scratch, etc, A huge inspiration for them is The Pogues and this album in particular, this has nothing to do with the album yet, but for Irish culture, it's a big album. The Pogues revolutionize Irish music, blending the old Irish trad music, with rock and punk and singing about modern problems, while also telling a great story! Shane MacGowan is one of the great songwriters of our time and often goes underappreciated. His unique style and powerful lyrics have left a lasting impact on music. This album shows his amazing talent With, A Pair of Brown Eyes, Shane's writing skills are at his best! Tells an amazing story with some beautiful and witty lyrics! This album is one of the greatest to come from Irish music and made Irish music relevant again!
I do listen to Zeppelin from time to time and I am a big fan of this type of music, but it might be controversial, but Zeppelin is not my favorite band, I found that I could find them to be boring sometimes. So this is the first time I have listen to a Zeppelin album from start to finish in a long time. It has made me appreciate them more, the drumming in particular from John Bonham is amazing, I know he is always regarded as the greatest rock drummer of all time ( I'd be more of a Keith Moon man) But John Bonham and John Paul Jones, create a monster of an engine for all the songs, that it lets Robert Plant and Jimmy Page shine! Can see why this is regarded as an amazing album, and my reservations about Zeppelin been a boring band have been thrown out the window! A song like Trampled Under Foot, shows the versatility that Zeppelin has, a mix of hard rock, Motown, and psychedelic rock, this would be a hard feat for any band to pull off, but they pull it off with ease. Then to have a song like Kashmir, nearly like an operatic song. Has tension and suspense behind it, a monster of a song and an amazing feat to be able to pull of! I will be going back and revisiting Zeppelin again and really listening to them!
It's a good album, it's just missing something. Very easy to listen, but while listening I find myself not paying attention, just does not grab you. It's a good album, but not great though!
I am sure the album is great as it is put down as one of the greatest heavy metal albums of all time and Black Sabbath is a pioneer for heavy metal, but heavy metal is a genre I never liked and I just found the this album boring.
Has its moments, but it can drift off when listening to it. It might feel boring as it is nothing new now and having a 17-minute song, can feel too much! But it did give us the great Simpsons line "this sounds like rock and or roll" So that has to count for something. It's not a bad album, its an okay album, and In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is a very good song, just can feel too long at times
Just can't get into this music! Lyrics sound like they were written by an 11-year-old. Because you play your instrument impressively fast, it doesn't mean it sounds good! The singer's dramatic voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Would give it no stars if I could!
Never listened to this album before and had heard of Gang of Four, but I didn't know much about them. I could listen to this album on repeat and never get bored, what an album and I can't wait to listen to more of Gang of Four now! It's a masterpiece and you can hear its influence on so many bands and so many types of rock and indie music!
Not much to say, Best album of the 90s! Best album of the last 30+ years! Has only gotten better with ages. Everything is perfect in it, from the production to the lyrics to the music! The last perfect rock album! It's perfect!
Slipknot music is just bad pop music with heavy guitars....
