Bridge Over Troubled Water
Simon & GarfunkelGood Sunday album.
Good Sunday album.
If S&G BOTW is a 1 this is a 2. Theyre not as haed aa megadeth, 1 decent track (one) and a few nodders but its no black album and ik still bitter i lost that vhs of the one music video i got from that car booty in the shadow of argyles ground in 94.
Songs i knew: 1 Songs i liked: 2 and a bit Good start, ended badly. Got me through sweeping leaves at least. Better than S&g BOTW.
Songs i know: 1 Song i like: 0 WTF is this? It sounds like it has been written by 2 year stoned 10 students for their music gcse coursework and recorded in the PE changing rooms. Absolute codshead of an album.
Songs i know:2 Songs i like: 1.5 (sunshine of your life and tales of brave ulysses) Songs that could have been ripped straight from a car insurance advert: 7 Are cream the Coldplay of the late 60s/early 70s? All I can hear is the clicking of guitar hero
Songs I know: 0 Songs i like: hard to say, just sounded like one continuous track Songs that could have been ripped straight from a car insurance advert: 2 Never really listened to any NY, like his style and album sounds decent although it was the remaster
Songs i like: 4 Songs i like: 0 Absolute waffle, would love to hear what the bands thoughts are of this years later. I reckon they'd probably deny it was them that recorded it
Songs i know: 1 Songs i like: 0 More absolute waffle. I'm sure this had its place in every post grads CD rack in the mid 90s but it's just noise. The CD case was inevitably used to rack up lines of cheap coke on the low mahogany coffee table in the living room. Some lyrics from the title track describe my feelings towards this album perfectly: What do you want from me? , Are you trying to punish me? Punish me for loving you, punish me for giving to you Punish me for nothing I do, punish me for nothing You punish me for nothing, for nothing
Songs i know: 2 Songs i like: first half of the album. Good songs: 1 and a bit Only the second album so far with a good song on it. This is more like it, an album I would happily come back and listen to again any day. First time listening to this front to back and it's great, full of energy. Basically a good radiohead aren't they.
Songs i know: 2 i think Songs i like: 2 or 3 Decent album, probably the most 70s album out there so far. Lovely vibe to accompany a morning jog round regent Park but another one in the pile of good but probably never pick it up again
Songs i know: haha Songs 8 like: haha Koffi has been playing 4d chess with us all along, creating this app just to slowly feed us his weird French 80s disco pop. Every song on this album is a preset track from one of those old casio keyboards they had in school.
Songs i know: 0 Songs i like: most of em Praise be to koffi for delivering us this muted power chord, face melting riffing, shredding wonder of an album. First time being exposed to this album and won't be the last, an absolute beast of an album.
Songs i know: none i think Songs i like: none i think Weird album this one, not a bad one but a bit samey. Deffo a vibes thing because I've never been a fan of REM really, seem like the Coldplay of the 80s in the sense that everyone knows who they are but can't remember which song it is they know and which album it was.
Songs i know: 1 Songs i like: 0 Some decent guitar stuff going on early on but just generally another Meh. I can imagine this type of band were ten a penny early 90s and RHCP won that race. Also Fuck been caught stealing because the dogs barking at the beginning set Polly off and took ages to chill her out.
This was a tough listen, basically just music you'd expect to play in snippets in a lift. Either koffis finger slipped and he added this by accident, or koffi isn't anything to do with this and it's really the penguin cafe orchestra behind it all. I'm not sure which one of those 2 I'm least happy with.
Songs i know : 1 Songs i like: 1 ish Considering I'm a fan of the smiths this is a bit shit by their standards, not a lot happens and I won't go back to it. It's undoubtedly got the smiths style so it's at least got that going for it. Light to mid 2.
Songs i know: hahaha Songs i like: last 2 songs. 70s black midi vibes to start, then just turns into a score from a mental musical. Doesn't surprise me that a) this guys solo work never really took off and b) he ended up working in theatre. Apparently he sucked off eltons fella or something? Either way I respect him but I won't be coming back. Last 2 songs are maf. Low 2.
Songs i know: 0 Songs i like: a couple Reckon I could copy and paste my review for after the gold rush and whack it here. He sounds great, very 70s. No songs really stood out but a solid 3 if justice for all is the anchor. Mid to high 3.
Songs i knew: 0 Songs i like: you've had your fun koffo, now give us the good stuff The whole album is just one continuous blurb, hard to tell when one song stops and the next starts. I assume this album was the end for the xx. I remember enjoying the first album at the time because it was something different, their sound is just tired though at this point and I didn't enjoy any of it. I was today years old though when I found out that Jamie xx is Jamie from the xx though. Everyday is a school day. Mid 1.
Songs i liked: a fair few These tracks sound great, love the style and it's an album I reckon I could go back to. It's an album that doesn't affend the ears and gets the hips moving, not sure how this compares against other albums in it's genre so let's see what koffi delivers. Low 3.
Songs i liked : pretty much all of the ones I listened to Only got 2 discs through this but loved it, would happily go back again. Imagine getting the deluxe edition at the time in that fancy box, be worth a bomb now. Mid 4
Get this as far away from my eardrums as possible. Make it stop please. Managed 3 songs before I ended the punishment. Basement 1.
Songs i know: most of em Songs i like: all of em Beast of an album, this should probably be on one of the voyager golden disk tbf other than that instrumental track. Imagine knocking about when this shit dropped, I'd be full of tatts and off my skull constantly eating bats heads. Low 5.
This is just noise, one of the tracks literally is just a recording of someone being on the phone in a cave with really bad reception. Barely music, an absolute codshead of an album, in fact probably better to call it a collection of noise. Fuck you koffi you weirdo
Songs i knew: 2 Songs i like: about half Surprisingly good album, enjoyed most of this. Loved their sound, if I was around in clubs when this was out I could deffo picture myself dancing like a twat to this. I'd be recking the suit jacket with the shoulder pads, daft hair, a fruity cocktail in hand eyeing up the boys. Kthx bibi. Low 3.
Songs i knew:0 Songs i liked: most of em Loved this album, sounds great and I imagine for the time there was nothing around like this. Will deffo visit this album again. Mid 4.
Songs i knew:2 Songs i like:0 Jesus christ, thank god that's over with. Took me 3 attempts to finish this album, a hard graft with lots of teeth gritting. I always thought I liked prince but thats based on that video of him shredding while my guitar gently weeps. Now I've had to sit through 1 hour 10 minutes of that I'm not sure I do like him as much as I thought. Sounds like a teenager who's just discovered how to use a synthesiser while refusing to sing directly into the microphone. Can't understand a word he's saying half the time and the other half is him basically having a wank with porn on the background. Mid 1.
Songs i know: 3 Songs i like: 0.5 This album is nowhere near as good as I see to think it was, maybe it's just not aged well. Starts strong and just fades away, although his band actually go a better job than him keeping the album alive for longer than it should. Mad that this bloke was once seen as the king of the goths, listening back it after all these years it's not even that heavy. Low 3.
Get a grip koffi, what is this absolute shite you're feeding us. Sounds like one continuous track because it's so hard to tell when some German students stop making noise and then start again. Who the fuck was sat listening to this shite in 1981 in Berlin and thought it was any good. Low 1.
Songs i knew:2 Songs i like: 2 Decent album, starts well and tails off after about halfway through. Not a bad debut album at all from these lads. Low 3.
I listened to this last week and forgot to review it at the time, it was that watery of an album that I had forgot what it's all about a week later. Offensively boring, give me lmfao anyway over this any day. Mid 1.
Songs i know: 0 Songs i like:0 Jarring and grating music this, abrasive and offensive on my ears in some parts. Not a fan, won't be back here. They should strap people that torture animals to chairs and make them listen to this album on repeat. That being said it's still at least twice as good as Travis so it's scraping a low 2.
Songs i know: 3 Songs i like: 2 I missed the whole moby dick sucking phase, to me he was just some nerd who made music in his bedroom who eminem used to take the piss out of. Some decent tracks on here, deffo well known but also some nothing songs on here that you could just skip past. A mid 3.
Songs i knew:0 Songs i liked:2 or 3 A load of solid tracks on here, guessing he was heavy on the weed when he written that reggae number and paranoia blues. Much better than bridge over trouble water, he was well better without that other prick. High 3.
Songs i knew: 3 Songs i liked: about half Starts strong, great vibe to it and some bangers swear I've heard that bottle of smoke somewhere before. Either way it's a great track. Starts to tail off massively towards the end, culminating in an absolute butchering of South Australia, give me the fisherman's friends version any day. Just about scrapes a low 4. Listening to this album was definitely educational. Here's my learnings:: I didn't know pogue mahone is gaelic for kiss my arse I didn't know the bassist in the band ended up getting married to costello I didn't know they were muckers with the dubliners I always thought he sang a rare old mountain tune, turns out he was singing the mountain dew
There's something in here now and then that I like but I can't place it. Sounds like it's been written by a lad who got kicked out of the bullingdon club for being too much of a rebel and turned punk just spouting a load of poetry he written when he was 7. Just about scrapes a low 2.
Songs i know: 1 Songs i like: most of em Vibes coming from this considering no one says fuck all are delightful. Would deffo visit this port again, a load of funky stuff covers that got my arse cheeks wobbling. Low 4.
Songs i knew: all of em Songs i like: all of em pretty much Koffi delivered a banger, always a pleasure to come back round to this. Hit after hit, such a raw and gritty sound to this which you just don't get anymore. East Coast hip hop at its finest. Mid 5.
This just sounds like a watered down foals album, lead singer voice doesn't go with the rest of the sound of the band. Very inoffensive album but it's also makes it wishy washy. Firdt time hearing wild beasts and I won't be rushing back. Mid 2.
Songs i knew: 2 Songs i liked: 2 Remember some of these tracks from Beatles Anthologys before they were well formed so great to hear them remastered. Sounds decent considering he recorded this in his house. Low 3.
Songs i knew 1 Songs i liked loads Generally a fantastic album, sabotage alone secures this as a 4 along with some other great tracks in here. There's a bit of experimental stuff going on in here that although good, stopped this being great. Maybe I have the bias of listening to lonely island as much as beastie boys which has warped me. High 4.
Never heard of Billie holiday other than pac rapping about her in thugz mansion and I get it now. Nice vibe to it, very vintage and you can tell this was recorded in 58. The album has almost Christmassy vibe which is apt considering we're in December, I won't visit it again but glad I passed through this town. Mid 3.
Songs i knew: all of em Songs i liked: all of em Koffi dropping bombs here. Remember going through my dad's CD collection when I was like 11 and picking this out based purely on the cool guitar on the front, listened to it and my tiny mind was blown. Every tune is a banger here, weakest is rife across the river and still a great track. Last track is my favourite here by a mile, something about them face melting little stardrops after each line get the feels going. High 5.
Songs i knew: 2 or 3 Songs i liked : about half Why do the jam sound like there's no lead singing and it's all backing vocals. Raise your fucking voice Paul. That being said still a solid album, some well know songs on there and a decent vibe. This is basically the 1980 version of Metallica and justice for all, high 3.
Songs i knew 1 Songs i liked 2 Lots of songs on here sound the same but still a decent vibe, then you have the one song everyone knows which you can't go wrong with. Old time lovin a tune too. Low to mid 3.
Liked the song about the dog where they all shwadity bob (I ain't got nothing). Album deffo fades as it goes on. High 2.
Songs i knew all of em Songs i like most of em I remember buying this from CD zone without even knowing who or what it was, a chance meeting based on the cover. Class album, such a raw sound and I'd heard nothing like it at the time. Always one in happy to go back to, low 5.
Songs i knew: 0 Songs i liked: 0 Didnt like any of these songs, also didn't dislike any. Just a bit of a nothing album, another inoffensive one that I'm failing to see how it made the list. Low 2.
Songs i knew 1 Songs i liked 2 Lots of songs on here sound the same but still a decent vibe, then you have the one song everyone knows which you can't go wrong with. Old time lovin a tune too. Low to mid 3.
Got better as it went on, sounded a bit wanky to start but went psychedelic which I'm all for. Low 3.
Songs i knew 3 (damage Inc, master of puppets, battery) Songs i liked: some of em I listened to this album while my blood alcohol content was around 75% baileys but from what I remember, it started strong then just faded a bit. Another solid album from the met but reminds me of slipknots later stuff, OK with some good songs that end up being the singles. Stopped just short of creeping into a 4 because I won't be going back to it. Very high 3.
Songs i know Songs i like Some interesting concepts in this album, mainly regarding Stevie being coy about putting a finite distance on the location of heaven. 10 zillion light years is a made up number so I'd love to see your working out if I'm honest lad. You could have just says a zillion as they're still illegitimate mathematical terms. You saying if we got some fancy gravity drive we could actually warp there? Get a grip lad you can't even get on the 14c to the big asda without someome helping you. In terms of the actual album though, gets better as it goes on. It ain't no use and they won't go when I go are stand outs. Lifts it from a 2 into 3 territory. Also some interesting album artwork. Low 3.
Shite. Turned it off halfway through. Low 1.
Shite. Turned it off halfway through.
Don't know what to give this, didn't really stand out in anyway and just all bled into one big mess. Not too offensive but another low 2.
A certified banger, hit after hit and a great sound. Will visit this port again and again now I've been here. High 4.
Didn't really go anywhere, nothing really happens here. I imagine live this is a great experience but this isn't really for me. Listened to loveless after this based on Chris's recommendation and that was much better, again would be great love in a intimate venue or maybe as a headliner in the dark on a bigger stage. When it all boils down to it I'm too much of a basic bitch for all this.l, that's a me problem though. Low 3.
Had no idea what to expect and I loved this, will definitely come back. Sounds great.
Starts and ends strong but there's just something about the middle where it got a bit drawn out and Meh. After 3 songs i was like certified banger solid 5 but yeh it dropped off and then picked back up. High 4.
