New Forms
Roni Size
1. Railing - 7
One thing that caught me out was the seamless transition into track two at the end. Solid D&B with rap. Very British but unlike other artists at times the D&B is not overly heavy.
2. Brown Paper Bag - 8
Much slower vibe to start than the first one before taking on the full D&B vibes. Not too bad. Slow cooker which I usually like. Reminds me of the Twisted Metal 3 OST.
3. New Forms (feat. Bahamadia) - 6
Vocals move with no meaning and seem random. Beat and tempo are good but this could have probably been way better vocally.
4. Let's Get It On - 8
Classic D&B. If you were to encapsulate what D&B is, this song is it. Solid beats, solid tempo. Just chill and enjoy.
5. Digital - 7
I have the same issues with this song that I did with New Forms, but to a slightly lesser effect. Beat on this track is excellent.
6. Matter of Fact - 6
Solid song but it can get lost on the listen. Beat starts good and the track really mellows out by the end. Feels like filler
7. Mad Cat - 9
Much quicker tempo and really good outro into the next song. Another one that encapsulates both R&B and what made the 90s such a peak for music. Best track so far.
8. Heroes - 6
Pretty baseline song. Vocals are ok. Beat is ok. Nothing about it strikes me as anything special.
9. Share the Fall (Full Vocal Mix) - 5
Vocally ok. Instrumentally ok. Just felt like an average song compared to what else is on the album and I usually love vocal mixes.
10. Watching Windows - 4
Would have been way better if it had the same rap style as the first 2 songs or left an instrumental.
11. Beatbox - 2
Complete change on the album. It's not bad beatboxing but it's such a tone change it feels completely out of place on the album.
12. Morse Code - 5
The song isn't bad and the morse code undertones work well but the beginning is only those tones and it's not pleasant on the ears.
13. Destination - 8
A return to what the album is about. Very good mix of sounds with a constant but very pleasing beat.
14. Intro (Roni Size Reprazent / New Forms) - N/A
A filler track to set the tone. Less than a minute. Not meant to be rated to be fair to it.
15. Hi-Potent - 9
Excellent track. Changes pace well, beat is nice, and overall a great D&B track. Best track on the album so far.
16. Trust Me - 7
Solid D&B track. Good beat, good undertones. Just classic 90s sounding D&B.
17. Change My Life - 8
Another solid track. Felt like this could have been a track from JSRF back in the day. Enjoyable piece of music.
18. Share The Fall - 6
Much better than the vocal mix.
19. Down - 8
Another solid D&B track. Really good beat and overtone vocals. Very enjoyable.
20. Jazz - 7
Solid song. Good beat, nice instrumentals in the background. Another all around good D&B track.
21. Hot Stuff - 9
Very good track to listen to. Upbeat with some all around solid sound and a great beat. Right up there with the best of the album so far.
22. Ballet Dance - 8
Great track to end the album on. A really great conclusion to an otherwise enjoyed album. The mix of strings in the song works so well here as does the jazz potions to really bring about why D&B is such a fun genre to listen to when done right.
In Conclusion: Drum and Bass didn't really come into the main fold in my opinion until the mid 00s but artists like Chase & Status have New Forms and Roni Size / Reprazent to thank because it laid the foundation for what Drum and Bass is and experimented in an age where dance music was creating a whole new wave of music that took underground clubs in the US and a lot of the night scene in the UK and EU by storm. Albums like this are a classic for what they have done for modern music. Musically the album is put together well with a lot of light to slightly heavy beats, all with tracks of multiple over or undertones that help emphasize the experimental nature of what Drum and Bass was in given the time. I did not like the more popular songs that were released as singles but things like Lo-Fi, modern Drum and Bass, and Dubstep can find inspiration in their roots in this album.

Hunky Dory
David Bowie
1. Changes - 10
Best track on the album by far. The intro is amazing and the highlight of Bowie's amazing vocals after the lead in is really nice. This is just all around one of Bowie's best songs. The constant introduction and ducking of the drum line works perfectly to bridge verse from chorus and highlights the consistent re-innovation of who Bowie was and his personas. The sax at the end is a brilliant way to end the song.
2. Oh! You Pretty Things - 10
Lovely start to the song with the way the piano is played. Vocals are amazing, lyrics are good, and the way the song eventually leads into the full instrumentals are just amazing. Another great track with an extremely catchy chorus.
3. Eight Line Poem - 7
Guitar sounds solid in this song but it's very light and feels like a bridge between the absolute powerful songs elsewhere on the album. Not much that is remarkable about it, but it is a decent enough track.
4. Life on Mars - 10
Absolute belter of a track. Instrumentally it's insanely fun with a really fun piano, drum, and guitar. Lyrically to me it's a bit strange (which I understand is part and parcel for David Bowie) but it's still a great track. The strings that come in at the end of the track are incredible. Overall, way more enjoyable than I remember the tune as being.
5. Kooks - 4
Very weak lyrically. Instrumentally it's not the strongest thing on the album either. All around it's not a bad song and the first verse is very nice but Bowie falls out of tempo at the end of the verse. It's an error repeated in the second verse as well. Overall, not particularly a great song.
6. Quicksand - 7
Really slow burner which Bowie does very well. Enjoyable track on the album. He repeats the Homo Sapiens theme in this song much like he did previously in the album. Tone changes work well here as bridges, much like Bowie does in a lot of his works.
7. Fill Your Heart - 5
Instrumentally I like this track a lot. Lyrically I do not. It's just all over the place and feels like a bombardment of ideas for what the track should have been. It doesn't ever seem to find it's purpose.
8. Andy Warhol - 8
The opening 45 of this track is the weakest part of the album so far but when the guitar finally comes in it sounds amazing. From there the track becomes really really enjoyable. Pace builds even further at the end to an all around enjoyable listen.
9. Song for Bob Dylan - 9
Excellent track. Guitar sounds amazing and the drums help emphasize the vocals when needed. Just a really all around enjoyable track.
10. Queen Bitch - 7
Complete change of tone. Guitar is much heavier than previously in the album. Lyrics in the chorus are a bit random like 90s Aerosmith were, but it's still a decent track to listen to and the verses are well put together.
11. The Bewlay Brothers - 8
Way quieter a track than anything else on the album but it builds to well into the chorus each and every time. The guitar is the real hero of the song but lyrically this is really enjoyable. Great way to end the album.

Fear Of Music
Talking Heads
I Zimbra - 7
Decent opener. The album is from the late 70s and you can feel the influence of other popular music from the time in this track, mainly Disco from the very beginning. Pretty good vibe.
Mind - 6
Bit of a psychedelic track. I had gotten Hunky Dory by David Bowie the day before this album and the similarities are very glaring. Grant it, Hunky Dory is also from the 70s (1971) and it feels like this song might have been inspired by that the way the vocals sound as well as instrumentally how the song goes from verse to chorus and back again. Guitar at the end sounds awesome.
Paper - 5
Lyrically it's not a bad track. Instrumentally it's not a bad track. I don't think there's anything in this track that will make me want to listen to it again. Pass over track on the album.
Cities - 7
Strong track and probably up to this point the best of the 4. Vocals are nice and remind me of Supertramp in a way. Disco undertones are here again in this song with the way the bass guitar is written into the track. Much more upbeat but overall it's very enjoyable.
Life During Wartime - 8
Very good song. Lyrically it's very very strong with the message it is trying to send. Instrumentally it's a great tempo and beat and also incredibly catchy. You will find yourself moving along to this song even if you didn't plan on.
Memories Can't Wait - 7
Complete tone change from the previous song but not so much it's out of place on the album considering what's before it. Overall it's a enjoyable song to listen to. The vocals are decent and the instrument builds into the outro very well at the end.
Air - 4
Despite reminding me of bands like The Clash, this was a tough track to listen to. Vocals fall in and out of the tempo of the song constantly. You just listen to this with no idea of what the point is or where the song is going.
Heaven - 6
Sounds like any average song from the time. This is another gear change for the album and a song with a lot more structure. Tempo is consistent. Vocals stay within that tempo. The problem with it is that this is about the only song on the album (at least so far) that has a rigid structure and so it feels out of place. The song sounds fine but there's nothing particularly remarkable about it either lyrically or instrumentally.
Animals - 3
Awful track. Vocally it's like nails on a chalkboard. Instrumentally it has no club what it wants to be: more like Heaven or more like Mind. Vocally it just gets worse as the track goes on as well.
Electric Guitar - 4
Track sounds ok. Another one with a bit of structure but everything is meant to sound very electro wavy and the instrumentals actually drown out the vocals at times you can't hear them. Bit too psychedelic for me.
Drugs - 2
The worst track on the album is the last track on the album. Lyrically it comes in and out and it barely decipherable for the same reasons Electric Guitar is. Instrumentally there's barely anything there as it's very light on the guitar and the drum but then at times that just stops for some psychedelic sounds before randomly cutting back in. Outro is pretty poor and filled with randomness.

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Kanye West
1. Dark Fantasy - 8
Great opening track. This is classic Kayne. Solid flow, all sorts of cultural references sprinkled throughout. Intro is a little too long for my liking but this just a great rap track. The choir coming in and out of the track is really really good. Bridge is a little weak but the beat overall is amazing.
2. Gorgeous (feat. Kid Cudi & Raekwon) - 7
Another good track. The guests on the track work so well in between Kayne's deep raps and they generally compliment him so well. The interesting thing about the track is the guitar and bass, which lead the beat over traditional snares or drums like in most traditional rap. Track feels filled with Kayne's hateful rage, which compliments the dirty sounds of the guitar he has on the track.
3. Power - 10
Best track on the album and probably one of the best tracks Kayne ever made. Drumline is immense on this track. Background vocals lift the track. Lyrically this track is unbelievably strong, drifting between societal problems and Kayne's own struggle to create this very track. It's just an absolutely epic song.
4. All the Lights (Interlude) - N/A
Bridge track. Not meant to be rated.
5. All the Lights - 8
Solid track. Instrumentals aren't balanced and a bit overpowering on the track which drowns out of the vocals at times but it's still a good song. Opening verse is the biggest part of the song.
6. Monster (feat. JAY-Z, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj & Bon Iver) - 4
The beat on this track is great but it's lyrically very bad. The opening 2 minutes is lyrically some of the worst on the album. Chorus is absolutely dreadful as well. JayZ's verse starts out poorly but ends well. Nicki Minaj's verse is absolutely awful.
7. So Appalled (feat. Kanye West, JAY-Z, Pusha T & Prynce Cy Hi) - 7
Much better track. Lyrically the flow is so much better and the lyrics themselves are so much stronger. Beat is great and this is more a return to what this album has built itself as than the previous track. Last minute is the weakest part of the track.
8. Devil in a New Dress (feat. Rick Ross) - 9
Awesome track. Lyrically it's absolutely amazing. When Kayne is describing the devil in the new dress he fades between rap, signing a line like a gospel song, and then another like it's casual conversation. The imagery the song paints is crystal clear. Instrumentally it's great and the guest verse this time is just as strong as Kayne's at the start of the song. All around excellent.
9. Runaway (feat. Pusha T) - 7
The opening verse is the worst part about this song but the whole second half of the track lyrically is very enjoyable. Instrumentally it lasts too long at the end. Pusha T's vocal are a great compliment to the track.
10. Hell of a Life - 6
The use of auto-tune here is awful. Absolutely kills the choruses but the verse still contains that same flow we've come to love from a Kayne track. Beat and instrumentals are very good.
11. Blame Game (feat. John Legend) - 6
John Legend's vocals really carry the song. Kanye's verses are pretty solid as well. Instrumentally it's pretty sound. The song gets overly repetitive at times after the choruses but overall it's a pleasant listen. The monologue goes on for way way too long at the end.
12. Lost in the World (feat. Bon Iver) - 7
Decent song. Instrumentally and lyrically it's good but it comes to a crescendo around 3 minutes in that's just too many sounds. Track tends to drown itself out because of it. Overall though, a better song than Blame Game with a seamless transition into the final track.
13. Who Will Survive In America - 6
Decent song with a preacher painting metamorphic images with his monologue. The song is short and it's a solid conclusion to an otherwise decent album. Not terribly too much to dissect as the track is only 99 seconds long but overall it's a good way to end the album.

Elvis Presley
Elvis Presley
1. Blue Suede Shoes - 9
Great sound. This is Elvis' debut album and this is about as strong track you could open the album with. There's a few times where a band or artist who reaches the highest heights start with an absolute classic. "Rock and Roll Star" by Oasis comes to mind as an example but this song is one as well. Really great tempo and all around excellent sound. For the era, it is without little doubt as to why Elvis was so popular and I do believe this has stood the test of time quite well.
2. I'm Counting On You - 5
Much slower song. Not really my style and I'm not very fond of his vocals on the chorus. The background singers makes this feel too much like The Pops as opposed to rock and roll.
3. I Got a Woman - 9
Classic track. My favourite version of this song is the one Ray Charles did, but this is just a great sound to an absolute old time classic of a song. Sound is great and drum is the star of the show here. Really enjoyable track.
4. One-Sided Love Affair - 8
Reminds me of boogie woogie piano style music at the beginning. Really solid swing music which Elvis really became known for. Lyrically it is very good. You will find yourself tapping your foot subconsciously to this.
5. I Love You Because - 6
Pretty sweet love song. Really slower tone, even more so than I Got a Woman. Still, Elvis' vocals are a lot better on this track than on I Got a Woman. All around a solid song.
6. Just Because - 7
Pretty strong opening verse. Instrumentally this is a very enjoyable listen as the instruments are given a good amount of space to have a small jam session for 20-30 seconds between the two verses. Choruses aren't even separated by a tone or shift in a drumline like modern songs. Good track.
7. Tutti Frutti - 7
Great swing to the song but the chorus is a bit strange lyrically. Puts a lot of stress on the instrumentals to deliver but of course they do in spectacular fashion. If there were an unserious track on the album, this would be that track.
8. Trying to Get You - 8
Elvis sounds incredible on this track. Really get a true understanding of his true vocal on this track and it's such an enjoyment. This might be the best thing on the album that actually showcases the full scale of how talented he was.
9. I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Cry (Over You) - 7
Overall a good song. Another one of these blues inspired love songs that Elvis really became famous for. The guitars between the verses and choruses sounds fantastic.
10. I'll Never Let You Go (Little Darlin') - 6
Real slower song. You get small hint of Elvis right at the end but the song is way to melancholic for the album. If there was a track on the album that really struggled to highlight Elvis' talent then this would be that track.
11. Blue Moon (Take 9/M) - 4
The octave and pitch changes are too extreme on this track to really enjoy the slower pace of it. Lyrics are fine and there's not much in terms of instrumentals to pick at, which is fine, but when coupled with the constant peaks and valleys of Elvis here it just makes the track seem like a wash over.
12. Money Honey - 7
Lyrically a good tack and pretty much exactly what the album needed in terms of how it should have ended. The guitar really highlights what that instrument is even capable of doing. It's a great chord that really highlights the change that music was undergoing with an artist like Elvis. Solid track.

The Village Green Preservation Society
The Kinks
1. The Village Green Preservation Society - 7
Very good opening track. Lyrics are a bit random and all over the place but the sound is good and the lyrics are what I've come to expect from The Kinks so they don't feel unnatural on this track. Really good sound from the time.
2. Do You Remember Walter? - 7
Lyrically a very fun track. Sounds great and flows very well too.
3. Picture Book - 7
Classic 60s British rock sound. The album is building itself to that era of sound we are so used to hearing through bands like The Beatles. It makes you wonder why The Beatles were so popular but The Kinks arguably were not from the time given the similarities between the sound.
4. Johnny Thunder - 6
Little bit more of a pass over track than the opening three. Still sounds great but the song feels more rigid in flow and the lyrics aren't anything phenomenal that gets you hooked on it. All around, just ok.
5. Last of the Steam-Powered Trains - 7
Instrumentally this is so enjoyable. Lyrics are solid as well. Just a great track. The drum on this is way more prominent. Bridge builds into sounding like a train and it almost immediately reminds me of the Aerosmith track that came about a decade later.
6. Big Sky - 4
The intro before the first verse is outstanding and overall instrumentally this is a fantastic track. Lyrically it's absolutely awful however. Half the verses are barely even signing, just a random monologue. Really wipes any enjoyment of the song out.
7. Sitting By the Riverside - 5
Very quick flash in the pan song. It uses sounds that give it a Parisian-type flair but it's really just a pass over track in the end. It's not bad but there's also nothing remarkable about it and not the sound we've come to enjoy from The Kinks previously in the album.
8. Animal Farm - 6
Second half of this track is much better than the first half but it just feels like another pass over track. More like the sound we're used to from The Kinks compared to the previous track however.
9. Village Green - 4
The tempo and pace feels like it changes twice over in the opening track both with the introduction of Daisy and the yearning for the village green. Because of this, it's hard to get a feel for where the track is heading or what even is going on within it.
10. Starstruck - 6
Better than the previous two tracks but not something you'd get star struck on. Overall it's a solid supplemental track to the album but it's not anything spectacular. I feel as if the solid tempo of the song makes it slightly more enjoyable than it would be otherwise or when compared to the rest of the album.
11. Phenomenal Cat - 1
Absolutely woeful track. It tries to be lighter in pace, sound, tempo, and vocals but it's a complete dud. The worst track on the album so far.
12. All of My Friends Were There - 3
A song that feels like you'd hear it at a Ren Faire but without anything in it that would actually make it a song you'd hear at a Ren Faire. The opening minute sounds great but the rest of the song just goes musically all over the place and back without a reason or a cause.
13. Wicked Annabella - 4
Another track that randomly changes and goes all over the place. Drumline on this is fantastic and you get a hint of that dirty guitar sound, which is quite nice but it cannot carry the song past the dreadful sounding vocals.
14. Monica - 4
Another pass over track. By the time you get used to the pace changes and vocal structure of this pretty chaotic track it fades out. That's not a disappointment in how short it is but just in how all over the place the track tends to be.
15. People Take Pictures of Each Other - 3
Fairly weak track to end the album on. This isn't overall a great song and the parts between the lyrics is horrendous sounding. Overall, not an enjoyable track.

MTV Unplugged In New York
Nirvana
1. About a Girl (Live) - 9
Phenomenal opening track. The guitars sound so incredibly good on this track and the vocals are absolutely on point. Absolutely the definitely of what grunge/alternative rock is. The guitar's sound change on the bridge adds even more to it. Just incredible.
2. Come As You Are (Live) - 10
Just a superb track. Guitars sound so dirty, so incredible on this track. Cobain's vocals really delivery the song as the masterpiece as it is. Drum line does so well to lead the vocals into each line of the chorus. Just all around an all time classic on an all time great live performance.
3. Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam (Live) - 6
The verses do so well to highlight Cobain's amazing vocals but he is absolutely drowned out in the choruses. Instrumentally it's good but it sounds too much like a Renaissance piece the sound Nirvana are really known for.
4. The Man Who Sold the World (Live) - 10
Just an incredibly well written piece of music. The guitar is an incredible sound that I could listen to on repeat for hours at a time.
5. Pennyroyal Tea (Live) - 7
Cobain makes this song sound better than it lyrically is but it's a greatly enjoyable song either way. Guitar doesn't overpower him thankfully and it comes and goes from heavy to light all throughout, but not randomly to the point where the track just feels like a collection of randomness without purpose.
6. Dumb (Live) - 10
Just a phenomenal track. Short but with that great sound that the previous album has already provided. Excellent track to get lost in while doing a deep listen to the album.
7. Polly (Live) - 9
Very dark song with the imagery provided but sung superbly and with a great sound on the guitars on it, particularly the bass.
8. On a Plain (Live) - 10
Another brilliant track. Much like with Polly, there are very structured and timed pauses between in line of the lyrics but within those pauses, the guitar and drums are given a real chance to shine before the lyrics guide the song through. Absolutely excellent track.
9. Something in the Way (Live) - 9
Much slower song from Nirvana but still masterfully played and written. Lyrically it's a smidge too repetitive but it still sounds absolutely brilliant with how well the pace is maintained and amplified by the drums.
10. Plateau (Live) - 8
Complete tone change for the album and while it is not bad and the lyrics paint a wonderful metaphor, the song seems to lose itself a little bit around 2-2&1/2 minutes in. Very melodic but almost with a country undertone that doesn't really feel like it belongs on the album.
11. Oh Me (Live) - 10
Really great slow paced song that you could listen to on repeat many many times over.
12. Lake of Fire (Live) - 8
Chorus is great but the verse makes this feel like it could be a country track misplaced on the album. The sound of the guitar would be the only thing that makes it ensure it's not. The metaphor between the demons in the Lake of Fire and the 4th of July is outstanding.
13. All Apologies (Live) - 10
Very good track. A return to the classic Nirvana sound that opened the album. The fade into the repeated final line of lyrics is done so excellently it drives home the point of the meaning behind the entire song.
14. Where Did You Sleep Last Night (Live) - 10
Stunning ending to the album. The vocals and instrumentals are brilliantly written and they build in intensity for the whole track. You then get dumped into a quiet bridge that makes you wonder if the song will fade out or if you will get the crescendo you've been building to. The track does not disappoint and eventually delivers it to you, exceeding expectations of what it could be that you've been building for the whole first part of the track before coming back down to close. Best song on the album.

Live!
Fela Kuti
1. Let's Start (Live) - 9
The sound right at the start is an amazing blast of that almost disco/70s-style guitar mixed drums a great bass line and other instruments that immediately grips your by the shirt at your chest and throws you into what you get the feeling for what might be a brilliant musical journey. There's an excellent sax that's just an awesome sound with the drums and bass only a minute to two into the song before eventually giving way for other instruments to have their moment in the sun. The original album is only 4 tracks as well, so you get the feel that these jam session vibes is what the entire album encompasses but unlike other bands, where jam sessions can sometimes be too long (i.e. Outlaws, Dave Matthews Band) you never like the music loses itself. Best track on the album.
2. Black Man's Cry (Live) - 8
Another great jam session, especially after about 3 & 1/2 - 4 minutes in. The baseline remains very consistent through out and is paired very well with each instrument. Much like the previous track, there are many solos sprinkled throughout including the vocals themselves about two minutes from the end that leads into a crescendo of sound. Overall, a solid jam along song.
3. Ye Ye De Smell (Live) - 7
Not as good a track as the previous two. The skills of Ginger Baker do absolutely shine on this track but there are times where it goes on for too long and actually becomes too repetitive. Song loses itself a little bit in the drum solo towards the end of the track. Outside of those last 3 minutes, the track itself sounds really good. You're ready to move onto the next track before the track itself is.
4. Egbe Mi O (Carry Me) - 8
Solid ending. Love the signing at the end of the track. Musically good and it trudges along enough to not feel too long until you get this wonderful build into the end. Overall a decent track.

Future Days
Can
1. Future Days - 7
Solid song. Really slow build but you get this lovely drum sound into some great guitar riffs. Since this is progressive rock, you get vocals but they're never enough to overpower what's building instrumentally and that's just about the perfect touch to add another element without taking away what you're listening to transpire.
2. Spray - 4
Feel like I'm underwater the entire length of the song. Guitar sounds nice as does the light amount of drums but the song just doesn't go anywhere. First the first track is a nice progressive build into some good sounds, this track is a flat plateau of barren music. It gets considerably better at the end of the track, but you have to spend 6 & 1/2-7 minutes to get there only for it to start fading out a minute later.
3. Moonshake - 6
Good sound but a bit of a pass over track due to it's repetitive nature. Really good jamming style sound given that.
4. Bel Air - 2
Jekyll and Hyde song. Opening 2 minutes are good and then the song kinda putters along for another 2 minutes before a random tone/gear change in the track. Those aren't even the only gear changes in the song, which for much of the middle part mellows out into small noises until it finally begins to build into something 12 minutes in. By then, I feel like most people are ready to check out if they have not done so already, myself included. You're then massively disappointed with the ending that the song has eventually built towards, feeling like it's ended prematurely before going on for another minute and a half and attempt to build again ahead of a sudden fade out.

Pink Moon
Nick Drake
1. Pink Moon - 9
A song I've always heard in highlights and adverts but never knew where it was from. Lovely guitar sound and rhythm with solid vocals. Overall a great song.
2. Place to Be - 8
Very similar sounding both instrumentally and vocally to the first track. Really lovely sounding and Drake's vocals here are fantastic.
3. Road - 6
Very much a pass over track. Guitar sounds fine here and the vocals are okay but very rarely present to influence the song in any way and so you're left with 2 minutes of mainly a guitar going up and down the range.
4. Which Will - 7
Song doesn't quite have the same pop to it at the first two but overall it's still a lovely piece of folk music. Unlike the last track, the vocals very much carry the load here. A great performance.
5. Horn - 1
Absolutely completely useless 82 second piece of music.
6. Things Behind the Sun - 10
Breathtaking song. Just a masterpiece in what folk music is both vocally and with how the guitar leads the tone of the song.
7. Know - 3
Really weak song. The entire opening half of the song is practically able to be thrown away. Vocally it's completely uninspiring.
8. Parasite - 8
The guitar sounds absolutely fantastic on this track. Vocally the metaphoric lyrics are very good. Great track.
9. Free Ride - 7
Overall a good sing lyrically, vocally, and instrumentally. Very easy flow with an all around solid sound.
10. Harvest Breed - 6
Not a huge fan of the guitar sound on this track but it's not overall a bad song. Makes me think there could have been more to it if it was built out more with another verse or two.
11. From The Morning - 9
"And now we rise and we are everywhere" is the inscription on Nick Drake's tombstone and one can only hope his sound continues to resonate everywhere. The track is a great sound to end the album on and really highlights Drake's talent in both singing and songwriting.

Fire Of Love
The Gun Club
1. Sex Beast - 8
Great punk rock sound. Guitar sounds so brilliant in the opening and in the bridges.
2. Preaching the Blues - 8
Great instrumental sound. The constant back forth of the instruments ducking for the vocals and exploding out of them make this a very very fun track.
3. Promise Me - 5
The violin in the background sounds more like a constant annoyance than adding an element to the track. Drums and guitar outside of that sound great. Vocals are good but about eighty seconds in the violin begins to overpower the rest of the track.
4. She's Like Heroin To Me - 8
Another solid track. Drums sound incredible on this track, especially the bass drum on it. Lyrically the song is a lot of fun as well. Just overall a fun track.
5. For the Love of Ivy - 5
Lyrically I think this song is a trainwreck but the drum and bass line make it instrumentally brilliant. Goes on for about a minute too long and the ending is completely unwarranted.
6. Fire Spirit - 5
This needed to lyrically sound better. The lead singer's octave travels all over the place but instead of being into the higher and let down into the lower octaves, instead it's just a random spread of a vocal range. Instrumentally it's as good as the rest of the album.
7. Ghost on the Highway - 6
Pass over track. Nothing about this track is bad but nothing about it is remarkable.
8. Jack on Fire - 2
Awful track. The vocals are all over the shop and it feels like it will just be continuous talk without a break until there suddenly one for the lead to just sign the words "I'm the jack on fire" before continuing this random monologue without a purpose. Instrumentally it is equally as uninspiring.
9. Black Train - 3
Drumline is the only thing redeeming in this track. Lyrically it's way too repetitive and instrumentally it's not super dynamic.
10. Cool Drink of Water - 3
Just 6 minutes of void.
11. Goodbye Johnny - 6
Not a bad track. Instrumentally it's very enjoyable with some brilliant drumming. Vocally it's ok. Structurally the song is a bit random. Ok for the last track on the album.

Speakerboxxx/The Love Below
OutKast
1. Intro - N/A
The intros and interludes will not be ranked on this album for obvious reasons.
2. GhettoMusick - 8
Fun song the change from soft to slow at first felt very out of place for me but by the time you listen through to the whole track it makes sense. The rap is very solid as is the chorus which you will unconsciously find yourself belting out at times.
3. Unhappy - 10
Beautiful vocals on the chorus. The verses are exactly the style of rap we've come to love with Outkast over the years. The only reason the song isn't a 10 is because the instruments are a smidge too loud in parts and can overpower the vocals. Instrumentally the bass is excellent and the track is just absolutely a wonderful listen.
4. Bowtie (feat. Sleepy Brown & Jazze Pha) - 9
Another very fun song. A wonderfully balanced mix between singing and rapping, chorus and voice. Beat is amazing and the rhythm is incredibly smooth. Best song out of the opening three.
5. The Way You Move (feat. Sleepy Brown) - 10
I love the way this song moves. This is just an amazing song that encompasses where the genre was going around that era. 90s rap had some harder stuff in it, but a lot of it was born out of pop-style tracks which themselves still had that 80s disco flair to them. This was more what defined R&B in the 00s. You got a sound that's like the vocals of Boys 2 Men while getting that classic rap verse that defined groups/duos like Ill Al Skratch. Just fantastic. A track to put on repeat.
6. The Rooster - 8
Another great track. Just classic Outkast. The flow and the beat are excellent and really help the song change between the fast flowing raps and the melodic bridges & chorus really well.
7. Bust (feat. Killer Mike) - 7
A pass over track. Signing is good, rap is good, beat is great, instrumentals are solid but there's nothing out of this world about the track.
8. War - 9
First minute is excellent and left on an island once the song actually moves into the actual rap but that rap is exquisite. Phenomenal short tack.
9. Church - 10
Rap is amazing but the beat and the chorus, particularly and especially the chorus on this track are unreal. Incredibly well written song.
10. Bamboo (Interlude) - N/A
11. Tomb of the Boom (feat. Konkrete, Big Gipp & Ludacris) - 6
Rap is a different tone than the rest of the album and it doesn't work well here. Beat is alright but change of rappers and tones makes the track feel consistently off the mark. Too many cooks on this track.
12. E-Mac (Interlude) - N/A
13. Knowing - 8
Dirty beat on this but a solid track overall. Signing is quality, rap is very good, and the intermingling of voices is done so well to make the track an enjoyable sound overall.
14. Flip Flop Rock (feat. Killer Mike & JAY-Z) - 9
Strong from Outkast. The rap is quick and great with a beat that's absolutely fantastic sounding. I was a little bit hesitant about Jay-Z's part but he adds exactly the kind of supporting vocals that add a great volume to the track. Solid stuff.
15. Interlude - N/A
16. Reset (feat. Khujo Goodie & Cee-Lo) - 8
Good flow to the song with very good raps in it but overall the beat and rhythm are what carry this song to excellence.
17. D-Boi (Interlude) - N/A
18. Last Call (feat. Slimm Calhoun, Lil' Jon, The EastSide Boyz & Mello) - 6
The chorus is solid on the track but the verses don't sound great at all and that really leaves you with a sense of disappointment.
19. Bowtie (Postlude) - N/A
20. The Love Below (Intro) - N/A
21. Love Hater - 4
An extremely out of place track. Vocals are absolutely overpowered by instruments that sound like they are being played without a clear direction. Overall, the track is not really sounding like it should be on the album at all.
22. God (Interlude) - N/A
23. Happy Valentine's Day - 6
The rap in the second half of the song is fantastic but the opening is incredibly weak. Still, overall it's not a bad song.
24. Spread - 6
Pass over track. Not much to it and I'm not one that really cares for the imagery of the track. The change in tone of what The Love Below entails to what was on Speakerboxxx is not one I enjoy.
25. Where Are My Panties - N/A
Speaking track so no rating.
26. Prototype - 7
Better song. Singing on the track is nice as is the beat and overall sound.
27. She Lives in My Lap (feat. Rosario Dawson) - 3
It's just a non-sense of a track overall. Signing isn't impressive on it, instrumentals are bang on average, and it's a track I could do without listening to again.
28. Hey Ya! - 10
This is just a great track. Instrumentally it's absolutely genius and vocally it's just as good. Amazing track to dance to that will easily be stuck in your head.
29. Roses - 6
The chorus is atrocious but the verses are very good. Instrumentally the song is good as well but I can't get past the horrendous lyrics in the chorus.
30. Good Day, Good Sir (Interlude) - N/A
31. Behold a Lady - 9
The bass on this is really enjoyable and the lyrics are just as fun. The verses are really really great too creating a magnificent track.
32. Pink & Blue - 8
Solid song with an AMAZING chorus on it. Just a great smooth track with absolutely enjoyable lyrics.
33. Love In War - 9
Vocals are amazing overtop of a solid beat and really overall enjoyable structure to the song.
34. She's Alive - 5
The monologues are a bit annoying as is the change in octave on the vocals at the very end of the track. Beat is good but the rest of the song is too poor for me to enjoy it.
35. Dracula's Wedding (feat. Kelis) - 9
Lighter song but it works so well. Vocals are almost therapeutic on this track and overall which you could easily overlook it, it's a solid piece of music.
36. The Letter - N/A
37. My Favourite Things - 1
I hate Christmas.
38. Take Off Your Cool (feat. Norah Jones) - 8
Lovely song with some soothing vocals. Bit of a standalone as it's more just acoustic guitar with the vocals but it works well as a wind down track on what has been a long double album.
39. Vibrate - 6
It's not a bad song. The beat is okay and I like the idea of it. It's just a little too repetitive and long.
40. A Life In The Day of Benjamin Andre (Incomplete) - 7
The rap in this is great but instrumentally it's a bit lost. The clapping in it is good but I have no idea what the point of the background sounds are for.

Chirping Crickets
Buddy Holly & The Crickets
1. Oh Boy! - 10
Great song with a great sound and even better lyrics. Really good song that you can't help but vibe and swing with. Just a masterpiece.
2. Not Fade Away - 2
Complete difference from the first track. The instruments unnecessarily pause between each line of the verse, are way too repetitive, and the background vocals are completely soulless.
3. You've Got Love - 1
Horrible bubblegum music.
4. Maybe Baby - 6
A better song than the previous too. Much better flow with the instruments and vocals with a decent chorus and verses. The verses are pretty short and there's not a lot to the song outside of them but it's not terrible either.
5. It's Too Late - 5
You're average love song about a girl upping and leaving a relationship and the sequential missing of that girl. Decent overall but it hasn't stood the test of time.
6. Tell Me How - 6
Instrumentally a decent song and you get a better glimpse at the vocal range and talent of Buddy Holly on this track. Ending is a bit weak.
7. That'll Be The Day - 8
Solid track. Instrumentally it's a lot stronger than the wishy-washy love songs that dominate a lot of the album. The background vocals add a lot of texture to the choruses.
8. I'm Looking For Someone To Love - 7
Good track. Guitar sounds great on this. Having previously gotten Elvis Presley's debut album, you definitely get the same vibe from this track.
9. An Empty Cup (And A Broken Date) - 1
Background vocals have way much more of a part on this track but it just feels out of place. Sometimes they lead the song, sometimes they don't, and sometimes the instrumentals drown them out. Lyrically the song is toothless.. It's a return to really bad bubblegum music.
10. Send Me Some Lovin' - 2
I'm not one for barbershop quartets and this exactly what the song sounds like. Way too much from the background vocals going on in this song, especially for how muted the instrumentals are at times.
11. Last Night - 2
The lyrics sound as if they're almost sung out of key and out of tempo with the instrumentals. Song starts with what is almost a prayer into another "miss you baby blue" style track. Nothing about it works.
12. Rock Me My Baby - 6
The drums so a lot of work for this song and they sound excellent. This is was more the swing type of rock and roll we've come to appreciate from the era. The final minute of the song is way better than the opening minute.

Violent Femmes
Violent Femmes
1. Blister In The Sun - 7
Instrumentally this is a brilliant track. The sound of the vocals is the issue I have with the track here. It's very rough sounding signing and the quiet part at the end of the song becomes hard to follow along with.
2. Kiss Off - 2
Horrendous opening into a very repetitive section into just... random talking? Absolutely no flow to the song. Completely random, completely directionless, completely pointless.
3. Please Do Not Go - 3
Just soulless sounding music. Lyrics are very random in tone, length, and delivery. Instrumentally it's okay but a bit basic. Guitar part in the middle is the only redeeming thing in the track. The mini-monologue towards the end is incredibly annoying to listen to.
4. Add It Up - 8
Much better sound with miles better lyrics than what has previously been on the album. Verses are solid and the chrous is really good as well. The rolling of the drum throughout is great and it makes the transition into the lighter part of the song seamless. Guitar adds a very nice compliment of sound to the feeling of anger and frustration the song portrays throughout before breaking out into a brilliant riff on the bridge at the half way mark.
5. Confessions - 1
Absolutely dreadful song with absolutely awful lyrics. Instrumentally there's not a lot to opine here as the song they are basically played like a funeral procession is going on. Guitar and drums finally kick in brilliantly 3 minutes in but outside of that it's an entirely uninspiring track.
6. Prove My Love - 6
Better song with a lot of fun in the instruments and even the background vocals. Overall a sound track.
7. Promise - 6
Sound is great and lyrically the song is fine. My issue is when the verse is broken with a speaking element like in the first verse. It just breaks the tempo and the feel of what the song is trying to portray.
8. To The Kill - 3
Lyrically the song stumbles all over itself before randomly signing "to the kill". Guitar in second half of the track sounds fantastic but it will randomly veer of course at times both a minute in and at the end of the solo/bridge.
9. Gone Daddy Gone - 10
Outrageously good song. Lyrically it's fantastic and the sounds of all the instruments each add a phenomenal amount of character to the track. The chorus is incredibly catchy to sing to. Just a brilliant track.
10. Good Feeling - 4
The piano on this track is the highlight. It sounds great but the lyrics are hard to follow along with in terms of their message and their meaning. Guitar in the middle sounds good. Other than that, it's a slow burner of a track.
11. Ugly (1983 Rough Trade UK Single) - 6
Overall not a bad track. The guitar sounds so incredibly dirty and amazing on this track. Lyrics follow a great tempo and tune but the verses are a bit odd and lose the plot a bit. Other than that, it's okay.
12. Gimmie the Car (1983 Rough Trade UK Single) - 1
Lyrically this song is abysmal and it's five full minutes of this unfortunately. There's nothing instrumentally that can save this song from being a complete and total abomination.

Atomizer
Big Black
1. Jordan, Minnesota - 2
Vocals are completely drowned out. Instrumentally it's very experimental and at times very enjoyable, but overall the song is lacking anything that would make me want to replay it any time soon.
2. Passing Complexion - 6
Instrumentally this is freaking brilliant. The beat and the waning guitar sounds make this a track you will absolutely tap your feet to. Lyrically it's a bit lost but they're never on the track too much to ruin anything on it bar maybe the scream at the end.
3. Big Money - 5
Carbon copy the last song but a little less enjoyment in the instrumentals. Bang on average track.
4. Kerosene - 2
The instrumentals are the only thing keeping this off the bottom rating. Lyrically it's dry, repetitive, and completely boring.
5. Bad Houses - 2
Carbon copy the previous song's critique but this time the vocals are completely drowned out and absolutely pointless being on the track since you can never hear them well enough to make out what they're saying.
6. Fists of Love - 0
I try to keep things within a 1-10 range for tracks... but this was so outrageously and horrendously bad. The lyrics are completely uncompelling while the same riff and drum beat is on repeat for the entirety of the song. Mix in horrible sounding noises like nails across a chalkboard (yes, actual nails across a chalkboard sounding like noises are on this track) and you get something so bad it cannot be awarded a single point out of 10.
7. Stinking Drunk - 3
The guitar in the opening half is amazing but the entire second half of this song from the bridge onward is awful.
8. Bazooka Joe - 3
The opening half a minute to this track is needless. Guitars are outstanding on the track given this between both the chorus riffs and parts in between the verses/choruses. Signing and lyrics, as par for the course for the entire album, leave everything to be desired.
9. Strange Things - 1
A monotonous and incredibly boring track.
10. Cables (Live) - 1
It's just a completely lost song. Guitars on it are peaking and sound very very bad. Lyrics are just non-existent, incomprehensible, or barely even saying anything bar shouting "Rebel!".

Synchronicity
The Police
1. Synchronicity I - 9
What. A. Sound! You're greeted with an amazing array of sound before taking the dive into the track with some amazingly written lyrics. Reminds me of Ian Brown - F.E.A.R. the way it's very short and purposed rhyming but much like in that it works very well. Slightly repetitive in the ending but overall an amazing opening track.
2. Walking In Your Footsteps - 6
Way more repetitive track both lyrically and instrumentally. The verses are what really shines here on just how good they are but the rest of the track leaves a lot to be desired.
3. O My God - 7
Fun track. Lyrically it's pretty average but it's an absolute exploration of sound and part of what made The Police a fun band. The sax in the end to close the song out sounds very enjoyable.
4. Mother - 2
Vocally it's a completely different tone and it sounds absolutely awful. Lyrically the track is just absolutely awful in both the writing and the execution. Instrumentally it's okay but there's not a lot of degrees of separation from the monotonous, making the track overall a pretty bad experience.
5. Miss Gradenko - 6
Interesting track. I can't say it's any masterpiece or even excellent in its composition but I can't say it's a terrible listen either. Just a very strange track with a decent guitar and bass that are the two highlights of the piece.
6. Synchronicity II - 9
Another great sound. Lyrics are vocally a brilliant range and the change in octave and pitch between choruses, verses, and even the lines within is exemplary. Guitars sound absolutely awesome on this track and fade in and out in tensity to match the wide vocal range. Just a brilliant piece.
7. Every Breath You Take - 10
Masterpiece of a track. Guitars and drums lead in a great melody with some of the best lyrics on the whole album. There's a reason this track has stood the test of time, and you pick up on that immediately when listening to it.
8. King of Pain - 8
Solid track. Takes a minute to build into it but the choruses are met with a great guitar sound and the verses move along with a great complimenting bass line. Bridge contains some unique sounds as well that wonderfully add to the track.
9. Wrapped Around Your Finger - 10
Great track. The build into the crescendo is incredible. The fade out is perfect. The lyrics are absolutely awesome to sing along to. This is just an incredibly fun, slower track on the album.
10. Tea in the Sahara - 8
Great slower track. Bass provides such a huge foundation for the song. Vocally this sounds amazing as well. Very enjoyable.
11. Murder By Numbers - 10
Fantastic track! The sound is amazing and lyrically the song is incredibly strong. The vocal range between the lowest point at the start of the track to the heights of the chorus is absolutely stunning. By far and away the best track on the album. Absolutely stunning.

Graceland
Paul Simon
1. The Boy In The Bubble - 9
Wasn't sold on the intro but the song builds so well. Simon's vocals sound incredible and the instruments, while odd, work so well in harmony together. Absolutely fantastic beat on it as well. Solid track.
2. Graceland - 8
Solid song. Really great beat and tempo that will have you tapping your feet without knowing it. Simon's vocals again deliver a wondrous performance here. Bass sounds really great on this track as well.
3. I Know What I Know - 6
Not a bad song but lyrically it falls in and out of tempo and they are not as strong as the opening two track.
4. Gumboots - 3
Not a great opening and not great overall. Instruments are okay but the loud and leading instruments don't really do anything great for the track. Choruses aren't particularly too good either.
5. Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes - 5
Could do without the barbershop quartet on this track and quite frankly without the entire opening minute of the track before this random tempo and pace change into the actual part of the song. "Diamonds on the soles of her shoes" is repeated way too much in the song. "As if everyone here knew what I was talking about" belts out Simon. I don't. I think that's the problem here.
6. You Can Call Me Al - 6
Sounds brilliant outside of the lyrics. Verses are again in and out of tempo and tone. Choruses are solid but the absolutely woeful verses ruin the experience for me.
7. Under African Skies - 8
Much better track. Really wonderful sounding vocals with a wonderful assortment of guitars and strings. Very very enjoyable.
8. Homeless - 2
It's not the nature of the chanting I find an issue with because the chanting sounds very nice; it's just that I don't see a need on the album. It's such a gear change from the rest of the album that the track feels out of place. That's not to say songs need to be the same on an album either but it's just a random chanting track on what's been a folk/tropical/acoustic sounding album.
9. Crazy Love, Vol II - 6
Sound is excellent but the choruses are completely uninspired with how insanely repetitive. Verses are good but as is much the theme with the album some lines have too many words and it makes them feel like they're rushing to catch the end of the instruments playing before moving into the next line. Becomes hard to really follow along when that happens.
10. That Was Your Mother - 9
BRILLIANT sax on this track. Verses again feel rushed but what an amazing sound between the drums and the sax which masterfully falls into a background octave after it's awesome solo.
11. All Around The World or the Myth Of Fingerprints - 5
Lyrics make absolutely no sense for half the track but the signing is lovely and the instruments give this almost a Caribbean vibe. Overall, not a bad track to end with.

Melodrama
Lorde
1. Green Light - 8
Cookie cutter pop. Musically it's good and I'm a HUGE house music fan but I don't like the ebb and flow between really rigid verses into the way more shapeshifting vocal bridges into choruses. Vocally I feel like the track is all over the place at times but once you run through the whole song you can kind of see the intention in the different tempo of lyrics. It just makes me wishing there was more to it. Background vocals add a lot of great sound to the track.
2. Sober - 5
It's okay. Lyrically it's pretty boring. Musically it's okay but the tempo change leading into the outro doesn't fit really well together on the track.
3. Homemade Dynamite - 6
Beat is amazing during the choruses but lyrically this is dreadful. Shame because musically this sounds incredible. Easily could have been a 10/10 if the vocals were any sort of quality.
4. The Louvre - 1
Remember when Ke$ha was towards the top of the charts and it was a really terrible standard of music and people only realized this ten years later for some reason? Welcome to that revisited in 2017 with this track. Lyrically it's either extremely repetitive, completely dull, or just drivel. Musically it's just as dull.
5. Liability - 2
First verse was very rushed with the lyrics. Musically there's not much too it and there doesn't need to be, it's a slower song. The piano sounds just fine, but a track in which it's the only instrument means the vocals are emphasized even more and they're just not very good in terms of their lyrical writing.
6. Hard Feelings/Loveless - 6
Miles better track. Instrumentally/musically Hard Feelings is absolutely brilliant. Not sure why this needed to be a joint/combined/double song and not just 2 separate tracks, which is a shame because Loveless is such a dip in quality compared to Hard Feelings. Hard Feelings would be a 9 or 10 out of 10. Loveless is 1. Loveless is completely uninspiring in it's lyrics, which are by far and away the weakest part of that half of the track.
7. Sober II (Melodrama) - 4
Entire second half of the track is just the same lyric repeated over and over and over and over again endlessly. Beat is awesome on the track in the opening half and the build up to the strings is absolutely stunning. But the song itself I could do without.
8. Writer In The Dark - 4
It's an average song. There's not enough there for me to enjoy it but it's not poorly written like other songs on the album tend to be. It's too much of the Lady Gaga/Billie Eilish style for my personal tastes.
9. Supercut - 6
It's a slow burner. Opening minute is a drag to get through but when the song really opens up 2 and 1/2 minutes in it becomes enjoyable. Song does on for way too long but the instrumentals on the final minute during the drown/fade out aren't bad and you can live with the over-extended outro because of it.
10. Liability (Reprise) - 7
It's a decent reprise. Meant to be a pass over track given it's a reprise, you can really enjoy it one your way to the last sound. Sounds excellent. Having said that, this should have been the last song on the album and would have been a great way to close it.
11. Perfect Places - 5
Track was probably written specifically for radio play and it's very easy to tell that but the way the octaves change on the chorus with the sort of gospel like choir signing of it alongside Lorde. Outside of that the track is just generic 2010s pop. Nothing special about it.

Aladdin Sane
David Bowie
1. Watch That Man - 8
Intro is solid, drums sound great, guitar sounds good, piano at the end is a brilliant addition. All around a great 70s sort of pop-rock like song and an absolutely brilliant way to open the album.
2. Aladdin Sane - 6
Very hard to stay with this song as instrumentally it's absolutely all over the place. Piano playing in the opening is amazing but then it takes this sort of eerie turn half way through. Sax makes an appearance before quickly ducking away and coming back later. The piano playing is great, but it's just all over the shop.
3. Drive-In Saturday - 8
Just a classic sounding Bowie track. Lyrically it's very very strong. The sax doesn't come in and out like the last track and helps undertones very well on the louder parts of the track. Overall, an enjoyable track.
4. Panic In Detroit - 6
It's okay. Drums are good and instrumentally it's enjoyable. Lyrically it's a little too repetitive and you kinda grow tired of the track 3 minutes into it. There's definitely much much better in Bowie's collection of tunes.
5. Cracked Actor - 9
Really good track. Guitars on it sound very very good and lyrics flow so well and are so catchy that you can't help but find yourself signing to them at some point. Absolutely awesome track.
6. Time - 9
Amazing track. Guitar solo on it is immense and sounds incredible. Lyrically it's brilliant too. It just goes on a little too long and repetitively in the final minute and a half. Aside from that, it's the best track on the album so far.
7. The Prettiest Star - 9
Really enjoyable track. Lyrically it's incredibly well structured with another awesome sounding guitar solo/bridge. Sax adds so much to the flair of the song as well and is the perfect instrument to guide the ending fade out.
8. Let's Spend The Night Together - 9
The bridge on the track is awful but the rest of the track is so incredible. Piano is the real highlight of the track here. The first two verses are also absolutely masterful. It's just a phenomenal track.
9. The Jean Genie - 10
Great track. Lyrically the choruses are brilliant while the verses build so well. It has a phenomenal ending to it as well. Guitar sounds so tame but brilliant in helping the pace of the song move along. Drums cannot be forgotten either.
10. Lady Grinning Soul - 10
Superb song to end the album on. The piano here is unbelievably good and the introduction of the guitar at the end of the song just ahead of the outro is absolutely perfect. Bowie's vocals do so well here in how they go from quick to slow, drag out notes for emphasis, and go all over a range of octaves. Absolutely an incredible ending. Best track on the album by far.

Trio
Dolly Parton
1. The Pain of Loving You - 7
Good sound. The intro I'm not overly in love with but the guitar moves along so well, especially in the middle solo. Not a big big country music person, but this is overall a decent track.
2. Making Plans - 3
It's not a bad song but I'm not a fan of it being a trio. This would be a lot better as a solo track.
3. To Know Him Is To Love Him - 6
Decent slow song. Would be great to put on at a dance. Lyrically it's very simple but effective. Instrumentally there's barely anything there to judge. Just an okay slow song.
4. Hobo's Meditation - 7
Lovely sounding instruments and the increase and fade in octaves in the choruses are fantastic. Classic country music sound.
5. Wildflowers - 8
Great track. Solo focus here works great and lyrically the metaphors about the wild flower are excellent. Chorus is the best part of the track. Overall it just sounds solid.
6. Telling Me Lies (with Dolly Parton & Emmy Lou Harris) - 3
Another slow song but this time it's enough to lull you to sleep. It's overall not a bad song, it's just very very simply. Overly simple.
7. My Dear Companion - 5
Guitar solo half way through is the highlight of the track. Another slow song but no where near as slow as the last one. Vocals build well to a crescendo in the last part of the track before fading into good background vocals.
8. Those Memories Of You - 9
Awesome track. Guitar sounds so incredibly good and lyrically it's an easy song to sing to. The strings in the bridge are an excellent touch. Best track on the album.
9. I've Had Enough - 1
It's a lullaby.
10. Rosewood Casket - 5
Decent country music track (if not a bit morbid in it's lyrics). Instrumentally it's extremely simple but the guitars are given a little bit of space to explore into during the bridge. Overall, it's okay.
11. Farther Along - 5
Really good work on the vocals going from one singer to the other. Decent track to end on given the selection on the album. In conclusion the album is decent for country music but it's just way way way too slow. There's not enough variety in the style of composition of the tracks that makes getting to this point a real slog. As for the track itself, it's one of the better slow songs with a solid build up into the final chorus. Almost a gospel like inspiration on the track.

Abraxas
Santana
1. Signing Winds, Crying Beasts - 8
Really love the synthesizer and the guitar sounds great. The build up and out into the next track is flawless.
2. Black Magic Woman / Gypsy Queen - 9
Lyrics are extremely simple and very repetitive, but the instruments are very clearly what lead the track. That's the intention at least and the guitar on Black Magic Woman is superb. Overall the sound is great on it. When the track picks up into Gypsy Queen it feels out of place until the guitar comes in more and the song crescendos. Fantastic piece of music.
3. Oye Como Va - 11
Musically this is a brilliant track. The guitar, the organ-like synthesizer, the very brief lyrics. Everything about this track is stellar. Absolutely unbelievable sound.
4. Incident at Neshabur - 9
Guitar sound is just outstanding on this track. I'm running out of superlatives to label these tracks because they all just sound so very very very good. The pace change is a bit sudden on it but it leads to some more awesome notes from the guitar. Piano is a lovely addition at the end of the track.
5. Se a Cabo - 8
Excellent. Just all around excellent.
6. Mother's Daughter - 10
Instruments are great on this track but unlike the rest of the album, it's got a lot of lyrics in it and they are exquisite. Santana's voice sounds really really good as does the excellent use of the drums, which often rolls the song both in and out of the lyrical parts of it. All of this before an amazing guitar solo to end the track.
7. Samba Pa Ti - 9
Slower song and an awesome listen. Guitar is the star of the show and builds up into the track brilliantly before becoming a full fledged solo. I originally was only going to give this a 7 or an 8 before that absolutely stunning guitar at the end.
8. Hope You're Feeling Better - 10
Lyrics are very very repetitive but how can you not love a song with that amazing a solo in the middle of it? And if that's not enough for you, you get another lovely one at the end. Instrumentally this is a complete masterpiece of a track.
9. El Nicoya - 6
Bit random to end the album on this track. It's also completely random given what else has been on the album. There's not much to it. Very simple lyrics and very simple instrumentally but I cannot be too harsh on the track because it's only 90 seconds.

Brothers In Arms
Dire Straits
1. So Far Away - 2
Completely monotonous in it's lyrics, the drums, and especially in the chorus. I want this song to stay so far away from me. It's very very boring.
2. Money For Nothing - 9
The guitar is really what you come here for and you're not disappointed. Brilliant sound. Lyrics contain some pretty heinous stuff which I understand for the era wasn't considered that and I also understand the meaning behind them in the track but it doesn't make listening to them any easier in the modern day.
3. Walk Of Life - 10
Vocals sound very good here and the guitar leads the song brilliantly. Very easy to find yourself singing along to it.
4. Your Latest Trick - 7
Sax sounds amazing on this track. Slower track which highlights the vocals more and they sound good on this piece. There's a few lines that are really rushed on the track where I think the verses suffer but overall, not that big or significant.
5. Why Worry - 5
Song is just way too long. Lyrically it's fine, instrumentally it's fine but it's so slow and so long it feels like I'm being lulled to sleep. Could have been 4 minutes.
6. Ride Across The River - 7
Interesting vibe on the track. Instrumentally it's very enjoyable over the 7 minutes. Lyrically it's a bit too simple. Still, you can't go wrong when the guitar plays out like it does on the end of the track.
7. The Man's Too Strong - 8
Guitars sound immense on this track. It builds and fades in and out of the more intense parts wonderfully. Very enjoyable.
8. One World - 10
Best track on the album. Guitar between the verses is brilliant. Drum line is amazing. Absolutely excellent sound.
9. Brothers in Arms - 9
Brilliant sound. Slower song but it's given the guitar space to really dominate the sound and it does so perfectly. Synthesizer at the end is excellent.

The Slim Shady LP
Eminem
1. Public Service Announcement - N/A
There's a few of these skits and what not on the album. Like any other album before it, they will not be rated.
2. My Name Is - 10
Eminem's flow on this track is incredible. He sounds on this track exactly how he does years and years later and his ability to move between lines is unmatched nor degraded by time. It's a brilliant introduction to the album and he goes from past experiences to raging at things in his life effortlessly. An all-time classic.
3. Guilty Conscious (feat. Dr. Dre) - 8
Very good opening minute moving between Dre (the good conscious) and Slim Shady (the bad conscious). Multiple scenarios as well, although some very grim in their description. The flow is impeccable and the piano adds an insane beat to the track.
4. Brain Damage - 9
The verses are an insane trip of imagery. The ending fade is the only part of this track that isn't enjoyable as it just repeats the line for too long. Still, it's a great track with the high quality raps on it.
5. Paul (Skit) - N/A
6. If I Had - 7
The verses are much better than the choruses here. They pain some personal, some relatable pictures of what happens in urban cities with people trapped in poverty-stricken neighbourhoods in the United States. It's a very powerful track in that sense but I feel the choruses lose that a little bit.
7. '97 Bonnie & Clyde - 5
The rap doesn't have as great a flow on this track but the verses are still alright. The choruses I could do without and they seem just like something that you have to get through in order to continue the story.
8. Bitch (Skit) - N/A
9. Role Model - 10
Flow is insane on this track. The move in and out of rhyme is incredible and the metaphor about role models after coming from the background Eminem did is stunning. Just a brilliant track.
10. Lounge (Skit) - N/A
11. My Fault - 3
The rap and flow is good but the lyrics and topic isn't anything phenomenal to worth listening to this song again. Choruses are painful to listen to.
12. Ken Kaniff (Skit) - N/A
13. Cum on Everybody - 7
Second verse is incredibly strong. It's a great look into the mindset of Eminem on this track and reminds me of why no longer associates with the Grammys or anything Hollywood related. Third verse is also pretty strong.
14. Rock Bottom - 10
Brilliant song. It really helps paint how bad poverty can be and how it leads to crime. It covers all the simple problems that slowly descend into the chaos of what rock bottom actually is. Phenomenal track.
15. Just Don't Give A Fuck - 7
Flow in the verses, especially the second verse, is excellent. Choruses are okay. Beat's not bad so overall, it's not a bad song. It's enjoyable but there's also much better on the album.
16. Soap (Skit) - N/A
17. As The World Turns - 8
Flow is good but the chorus struggle with the forced puns of soap opera titles. Still, the flow and rap on the verses is unmatched for almost three full minutes and Eminem continues to verbally assault those in life he would wish ill will on. An extremely angry track, you can hear his decent into unfiltered anger as the rap progresses in the track, which is a brilliant use of the medium of rap.
18. I'm Shady - 6
It's okay. The flow is fine but it comes and goes in its effectiveness. It's a track about setting the record straight, which it does, but it's not anything phenomenal.
19. Bad Meets Evil (feat. Royce Da 5'9") - 10
Brilliant performance from Royce Da 5'9" on this. His verses are exemplary and really exactly what guests on tracks should be. He's given so much space to match the rap and flow from the previous tracks on the album from Eminem. The story sections leading in and out are a nice addition to the track. Just all around an excellent piece of music.
20. Still Don't Give A Fuck - 10
What a strong to end the album on. The flow, the anger, the pure unrestrained personal grievances the track is one of the best on the album. It's absolutely what makes Eminem what he is and his music so popular.

Born To Run
Bruce Springsteen
1. Thunder Road - 8
Springsteen's vocals are a little hard to understand or make out on the track, but instrumentally this song is excellent. It gets increasingly better as the track progresses.
2. Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out - 9
Very good track. The piano is the unsung hero of this song personally. It sounds amazing and the chorus is one line repeated but not enough to make the song redundant. All around a good track.
3. Night - 6
Instrumentally it's a great sound. I cannot, however, make out a word of what is being sung on this track. Vocally it just sounds completely incomprehensible.
4. Backstreets - 5
This song has the exact same problem Night does. Bruce is bellowing out his vocals but the hoarse nature of his voice down the lyrics into the loud bombastic music and make them almost impossible to follow. Guitar solo in the middle of the track is excellent, as is the piano that maintains the beat throughout the track. It's even greater on the bridges, which vocally are understandable but extremely repetitive, too much so.
5. Born to Run - 10
A summer anthem this. Arguably Springsteen's greatest ever track. Instrumentally it's outstanding and vocally it's was more understandable than the previous two tracks, with catchy lyrics that will make you want to sing along with it in full volume. The sax solo adds so much flavour to the track and is a classic Springsteen touch both in his line of work and on this album. Fantastic track.
6. She's The One - 6
Another mainly incomprehensible track but not entirely and the instrumentals are very enjoyable.
7. Meeting Across The River - 4
Vocally it's the weakest song on the album, even if it's way more understandable than the other tracks. I don't find Springsteen's voice historically to be all that great and this album has really highlighted that. Despite some excellent tracks like Born to Run, it's filled with a lot of songs you have to blow over because you just can't understand them and the ones that you do, like this track, it sounds as if octave and pitch are struggled to be held onto through the longer, final words of the lines no matter if they're found in the chorus or verse. The real strength of Springsteen is in his use the instruments he selects and how well they perform in harmony with each other.
8. Jungleland - 10
Best track on the album by far. Absolutely brilliant piano to start the track before an superb greeting of the other instruments. It's accompanied by an body moving guitar solo that elevate the song further. The sax raises the song up even further, leading to a wonderful collection of music. The ending two minutes somber but complete. Excellent track.

Young Americans
David Bowie
1. Young Americans - 10
The sax opens the track brilliant before the amazing vocals of Bowie lead the track. As it progresses, it continues to build into amazing sound. Everything about this track is so enjoyable to listen to.
2. Win - 7
The instruments in the open are great. Bowie's vocals are ok but lyrically the song is a bit random. It's not his strongest stuff by any stretch of the imagination. Background vocals add a lot of good sound to help you get through the track.
3. Fascination - 10
Guitar sounds great in the opening part of this track and Bowie's vocals are incredibly addicting to listen to. Background vocals are an awesome flavour and Bowie's vocals do an amazing job of leading in the drums and remaining instruments. Overall the track sounds amazing.
4. Right - 10
AMAZING guitar and sax on this track. The best track on the album by far. Bowie's vocal range is explored very well on this track as well. It's an amazing vibe with an incredible sound.
5. Somebody Up There Likes Me - 10
Brilliant instruments to open. The sax solo with piano support is absolutely incredible. Bowie's vocals are great and the background vocals elevate this song yet again. The wailing sax is brilliant during it's second solo in the bridge. Fantastic track.
6. Across The Universe - 8
It's a decent track. The vocal change in Bowie's style on this track is definitely out of place for the album and this could have easily been a track on Aladdin Sane as opposed to here. It's not a bad track overall, bit repetitive if anything but overall it's decent.
7. Can You Hear Me - 9
Brilliant ending with the vocals. A very smooth song. Sax is the star of the show here. Solid stuff.
8. Fame - 10
Brilliant track to end on. The waning vocals shouting fame with long spaces for the instruments to breathe is a superb touch. Outstanding track to end the album on.

Ambient 1/Music For Airports
Brian Eno
1. 1/1 - 2
This sounds like a song that got rejected entry into the final release of the game Mini Metro. It's just ambient sound, a piano with no direction. Actually critiquing the music unlike Brian Edo's wishes: the piano builds up into some notes that are too loud and the music's volume is very unbalanced on the track, which can make it painful to listen to if you're not careful enough with the volume on in your headsets. On top of this, it goes on for far far too long.
2. 2/1 - 0
Mind numbingly boring music. Like monk chanting but without any character, change in tone, change in pitch, or change in octave.
3. 1/2 - 1
If you combined the first two tracks you'd get this song. That's literally all it is.
4. 2/2 - 2
Loud and obnoxiously droned out brass instruments with no clear direction or purpose. They just wane on and on for nine minutes.

James Brown Live At The Apollo
James Brown
1. Introduction By Fats Gonder/ Opening Fanfare - N/A
It's an introduction so it will not be rated. Please note that the instrumental bridges will not be either.
2. I'll Go Crazy - 9
Great song. Brown's vocals are impeccable. The blaring trumpets between the lines, concluding the chorus. Amazing song. Classic big band style music.
3. Try Me - 5
Pass over track. The vocals too minimal, too repetitive, and the instruments subdued so as not to drown Brown out. It just never gets going anywhere.
4. Instrumental Bridge #1 - N/A
5. Think - 6
Frantic song. Random clapping that sounds like it should be there for the whole song, which is under 2 minutes in length it will randomly stop. Instruments at times have the same randomness to them outside of the verse. Brown almost mumbles his lines instead of sing them. Overall, could be a lot better.
6. Instrumental Bridge #2 - N/A
7. I Don't Mind - 6
I don't mind this song. It's slower, little bit barbershop quartet until the very end. Nothing spectacular.
8. Instrumental Bridge #3 - N/A
9. Lost Someone - 3
Brown's voice is impeccable but the song is pointless. It just goes on and on and on and on with no real purpose.
10. Medley: Please Please Please/You've Got The Power/I Found Someone - 8
The medley starts great with a burst of sound before mellowing out in the later parts. Brown is insurmountable in his excellence on the track. It's exactly as a medley should be.
11. Night Train - 6
The beat is great, the tempo is good, the pause in the middle is unnecessary. The lyrics aren't anything phenomenal, just naming random places in the United States along the east coast.

Back In Black
AC/DC
1. Hells Bells - 10
Great sound. Guitar sounds amazing, including the solo in the bridge which is just excellent. The intertwined percussions on the drums sounds excellent. The lyrics are words you'd absolutely belt out along to when listening. Outstanding opening track.
2. Shoot to Thrill - 9
Another great sound. Bridge is really weak on the track but the opening 2-3 minutes are freaking excellent. The lyrics in the chorus is what really carries the track, along with the phenomenal drums. Guitar in the outro is another highlight.
3. What Do You Do For Money Honey - 9
Verses are great on this track. More great guitar and drum sound that encompasses what classic rock is. Solo in the bridge is the best of the 3 tracks so far.
4. Giving The Dog A Bone - 4
Guitar and drums are great but the track is lyrically way way too repetitive and completely uninspiring.
5. Let Me Put My Love Into You - 8
The choruses are alright but it's another exquisite guitar solo in the bridge. Enjoy the first verse a lot as well. Overall a decent song.
6. Back in Black - 11
Normally, I would penalize a song for being this repetitive but this is such a classic and the rifs, the solos, the drums are so legendary and iconic. It's just an all-time great track.
7. You Shook Me All Night Long - 10
Great verses and an even better sing-a-long classic of a chorus. Guitar sounds amazing between the lines of the choruses. Drums sound brilliant with the tempo they upkeep. Solo again in the bridge is one of the best on the album.
8. Have A Drink On Me - 10
Guitar sounds amazing in the intro and the build up is just sublime. The first verse is particularly enjoyable as well. Overall, a great track.
9. Shake A Leg - 8
Instrumentally I really enjoy this take but lyrically I find it a bit of a pass over track. It's not anything phenomenal. It's a good track if you like AC/DC's sound and you can enjoy it for that, but outside of that it's just another track on the album.
10. Rock And Roll Ain't Noise Pollution - 7
It's got a great ending and I love the message of the song. Instrumentally it's okay. Lyrically it's a big average is all. Certainly not the best thing on the album but not a bad track to end it on either.

Electric
The Cult
1. Wild Flower - 9
Vocals are alright on this track. It has a solid intro and a great guitar solo on the bridge. It's very very of it's era. The late 80s kind of hard yet still pop rock style that appeared out of Britain, also found in artists like Billy Idol. Overall, an enjoyable track.
2. Peace Dog - 6
Instrumentally it's good but lyrically it's a bit lost. It's hard to follow and even harder to understand.
3. Lil' Devil - 7
Bit repetitive but much better and easier to follow than the last track. Lyrically you'll find yourself singing along to the chorus quite a bit. Guitar rounds great on this track.
4. Aphrodisiac Jacket - 9
Song starts well enough. Lyrically it's a bit all over the place but the pausing in the middle of the song feels very unnecessary. Guitar solo is great though as are the drums and the supporting guitar. Really instrumentally a very enjoyable listen.
5. Electric Ocean - 3
Lyrically and instrumentally this song is uninspiring. It's a pass over track. The words have no meaning. Pair this with the fact that the sound isn't as good as the rest on the album and you get a kind of very boring song.
6. Bad Fun - 7
It's a fun song. Lyrically it's a bit simple in it's messaging, which is a theme for the album but the drum line is really fun on this track and the guitar compliments that stutter in between lines brilliantly. Chorus is a lot of fun. Overall a solid track.
7. King Contrary Man - 5
Chorus is boring. Guitar solo is enjoyable. The way the bass guitar is on this reminds me almost of Highway Star by Deep Purple but without a lot of the fun that made that track a classic. The bridge on this track is dull.
8. Love Removal Machine - 4
Elevator music kind of song. Boring, nonsensical, absolutely a pass over track. Guitar solo is the only enjoyable part of the track.
9. Born To Be Wild - 10
An all time classic. Great guitar, brilliant lyrics, awesome track. Not much more needs to be said about it.
10. Outlaw - 10
Another awesome track and the best on the album. Guitar sounds so great with the tempo it leads the track with. Also has a great ending.
11. Memphis Hip Shake - 3
Annoying song. The first half of it very average in both sound and song. Then you get to the ending and it's monotonously repetitive to the point where you're ready for the track to just end.

Vol. 4
Black Sabbath
1. Wheels of Confusion/The Straightener - 9
Solid vocals paired with an absolutely massive lead guitar. Great riffs are paired with a solid drum that leads the track between the pleasing verses and great instrumental segments. This is a double track, which Wheels of Confusion being the shining song of the two. Having said that, The Straightener is a purely instrumental part of the song and it's brilliant with an awesome guitar solo.
2. Tomorrow's Dream - 8
Solid track. Great good vocals and a great guitar sound. The percussions on the drums sound excellent. Overall a pleasant sound.
3. Changes - 11
Brilliant song. I heard the Charles Bradley cover and it's just as good. Lyrically it's an unbelievable song. Instrumentally it's just as strong. Incredible piece of music.
4. FX - 0
Pointless piece of music.
5. Supernaut - 8
Solid song. Mostly instrumental but they're very good outside of the bridge which I find a little bit dull. Lyrics, when they are there, are great.
6. Snowblind - 9
Incredible guitar right at the halfway mark of the track and again in the outro. Absolutely amazing sound. It tone changes twice in the track which one the second one comes a bit without warning but it eventually builds back into the great sound we've come to love from Black Sabbath.
7. Cornucopia - 6
Another song with a tone shift half way through. Song instrumentally just feels too all over the place. Can't really get into it because all the tempo and beat changes. Leaves you exhausted with it by the end.
8. Laguna Sunrise - 7
Pure instrumental but a great sound. Acoustic guitar sounds really nice alongside the strings.
9. St. Vitus' Dance - 7
Lead guitar is so nice on this track and leads the song well. The lyrics leave a little to be desired in the first verse, but overall it's a decent track.
10. Under The Sun - 8
Decent song. Really great drum line on it but the octave of the lyrics is really off-putting in the middle part of the song. Almost reminds me of a track on the SNES game Uniracers. Ending sound on the guitars and drums is really good. It's a solid way to conclude the album.

Slanted And Enchanted
Pavement
1. Summer Babe (Winter Version) - 6
Guitars are nice but the lyrics are just random. It's just a bang average song. Nothing phenomenal but nothing horrible.
2. Trigger Cut/Wounded-Kite At :17 - 4
Awful sounding vocals with lyrics that make absolutely no sense and are monotonously repetitive in the choruses. There's glimpses of niceties in the track but not enough to warrant a second play of it.
3. No Life Singed Her - 0
If I never hear this song again in my life, I'll be happy.
4. In The Mouth A Desert - 2
Lyrically this track is awful. Sound is okay but not anything groundbreaking. If budget Nirvana existed, this song would an example of such.
5. Conduit For Sale! - 0
Horrendous opening into a very unpleasant verse. The chorus is literally just "I'm trying" being yelled over and over again, which increases in octave as the song progresses. I'm trying to like this album too, but it's just not happening.
6. Zurich Is Stained - 8
Much better sound, much better lyrics. Significant improvement but the slower tempo suggests this will just be a reprieve before going back into the previous sounds of the album. Still, for what it's worth this track is nice.
7. Chelsea's Little Wrists - 1
This song is all bogged down by the need to be something different. Sound in it is strained but lyrically it's an abomination especially the ending.
8. Loretta's Scars - 3
Instrumentally this is a lot better than previous tracks but lyrically it still lacks anything and everything that would make this track enjoyable. Sick guitar solo at the end though.
9. Here - 2
A very bad song. Much slower tempo on this track as well but unlike Zurich Is Stained, it's lyrically extremely poor in quality.
10. Two States - 1
Guitar solo at the end of the opening verse is the only redeeming thing about this song. Lyrically it's devoid of any character.
11. Perfume-V - 5
Lyrics are a bit repetitive but it's a much better song overall. Very enjoyable to sing a long to. Light enough to be able to enjoy it and move on.
12. Fame Throwa - 1
Another nonsensical track. Instrumentally it's absolutely all over the place as well. Noise for three minutes before the next track.
13. Jackals, False Grails: The Lonesome Era - 5
Lyrically it's way too repetitive and simple, repeating only one line of lyrics constantly. Having said that, the track is mainly instrumental in nature and the opening is very strong. The middle part of the track which sees more instruments introduced into it becomes a bit too much sound but overall it's not a bad track. Ending is also too abrupt.
14. Our Singer - 2
The song is just too random despite a great opening building into it. Also ends way too abruptly. This is the track that would basically decide whether or not you'll like Pavement. If you listen to this and enjoy it, you'll enjoy the album. If you don't, skip the album. You will not miss out on anything.

The ArchAndroid
Janelle Monáe
1. Suite II Overture - N/A
Interludes/Overtures will not be rated.
2. Dance or Die (feat. Saul Williams) - 6
It's not a bad song but it's just not the type of pop or music I'm big into. Very hard to follow the lyrics in this track because of the auto tune effect on it. Guitar solo in the bridge in unbelievable though.
3. Faster - 6
Catchy song. The tempo and beat are awesome on this track. Vocals in the verses are very very enjoyable but the choruses leave a bit to be desired. The middle part of the song is nowhere near as enjoyable as the first half and ending of the track.. "I'm shaking like a Skittle" is such an awful lyric too.
4. Locked Inside - 7
The sound is like that of Jesse J/Pixie Lott. It's not bad and there's parts of the vocals that are really enjoyable. Sounds like it should be on a summer vibes album or a DOAX soundtrack. Much like other tracks however, there are too many tone/tempo/beat changes. It becomes hard to understand whether you're on the same track or have moved onto the next one as the album contains seamless transitions.
5. Sir Greendown - 5
It's an okay song. The quality of the sound of the vocals is great but the actual wording of the vocals is a bit average. Song sounds exactly as much.
6. Cold War - 5
The tone/tempo change in between the middle of the versus ruin the enjoyment of the experience after what is an amazing chorus. Guitar solo at the bridge is okay.
7. Tightrope [Big Boi Vocal Edit] (feat. Big Boi) - 6
Tempo, beat, and instrumentally this song is absolutely brilliant. Lyrically it has strengths and weaknesses that balance each other out to find somewhere in the median. Decent track. Bridge in particular is pretty bad over all.
8. Neon Gumpo - 1
Pointless track.
9. Oh, Maker - 4
Another decent track. Nothing vocally or instrumentally fantastic about it. It's of a different tone from the first eight tracks of the album. When you think the track ends at first it doesn't, spawning instead a pointless instrumental section that's completely out of place on the track.
10. Come Alive (War of the Roses) - 5
Great track until the screeching, way too high octave signing at the back of the second chorus, into the bridge, and leading into the outro. Drums and guitar are amazing on this track and it's instrumentally one of the best on the album so far.
11. Mushrooms & Roses - 1
The entire sound of the track is unpleasant. The vocals are given an unnecessary reverb effect that drowns them out entirely. The guitar solo is nice but suffers from the same effect, essentially swallowing the song in a puddle of incomprehensible noise.
12. Suite III Overture - N/A
13. Neon Valley Street - 3
The chorus is way too repetitive and the verses have the terrible reverb effect on them, not not as bad and pronounced as in Mushrooms & Roses. Guitar solo in the bridge to outro is absolutely incredible however. Brilliant sound to end the track on but you have to struggle to get there.
14. Make the Bus (feat. Kevin Barnes & Of Montreal) - 1
Lyrically it's not a good track. The sound of the vocals with the effects on them is undesirable. Instrumentally the track is all over the place as well. The track is a complete tone change. It's Ke$ha like in its construction. That's not a compliment.
15. Wondaland - 4
Vocally it's unpleasant it's unpleasant in the verses. The structure of the song between chorus and verse and back is ok. The chorus is very catchy though and that's the most enjoyable part of the song.
16. 57821 (feat. Deep Cotton) - 3
It's just not my style of music. It's a well written track, a very well written track at that. This one just comes down to it being not the sound and style of music I enjoy.
17. Say You'll Go - 5
Second half of the song is brilliant but the first half is hit and miss. Piano in the second part is very very enjoyable.
18. BaBopByeYa - 6
The opening 2 and a half minutes are outstanding and if the album contained more of that, it would have been rated better. The tone change is a bit of a break of what has otherwise been a phenomenal sound. It thankfully doesn't ruin anything unlike in previous tracks and helps build and elevate the sound, particularly the vocals. This is until the track fades into the second half of the song and another tone change which isn't as enjoyable as the boisterous vocals and jazzy undertones in the first half of the track. They eventually make their return, but you're long waiting for the track to end by this point.

Raising Hell
Run-D.M.C.
1. Peter Piper - 9
Amazing hip hop. Great flow to the lyrics and the beat is immense. This is what spanned the sound we love today.
2. It's Tricky - 10
An all-time classic. Flow is unmatched in this track. Absolutely legendary sound.
3. My Adidas - 7
Flow is great, beat is great, and some of the lyrics are awesome. The topic of the song is a bit uninspiring but overall it's not a bad track. Probably could have been shorter.
4. Walk This Way (feat Aerosmith) - 11
Exactly how a crossover/guest/sample should be. Amazing track combining two completely different forms of music. It is so hard to do, but it is completely masterfully on this track. Another all-time classic.
5. Is It Live - 7
This is a really good example of what made this album so game-changing. The rhymes within structured rhymes. The bridges of lyrical rhymes that connect one standard line of the verses to the next. Vocal lyrical poetry.
6. Perfection - 5
It's just not as strong as previous tracks. It's not bad but the lyrics are a lot less hype and a lot less strong than previously. Too repetitive as well in the second half of the song.
7. Hit It Run - 6
Solid hip-hop. Lyrically it is better than Perfection and the flow is a little bit better. Has some solid scratching and beat boxing in it as well. Enjoyable track.
8. Raising Hell - 10
Brilliant track. The drums are made to sound like that of a gun and the flow and beat is incredible. Mixed with a great sounding guitar that's given space to dominate the song with a great solo, this track is everything great about another mix between rock and hip-hop.
9. You Be Illin' - 6
Beat is amazing! Lyrics leave a bit to be desired. The purpose of the song is just kind of lighthearted but also meaningless. Chorus is very repetitive.
10. Dumb Girl - 4
It's just not a great song. It's lyrically not great but the beat just isn't as enjoyable as other tracks on the album either. Bit of a pass over track.
11. Son of Byford - N/A
Track is too short to warrant a rating.
12. Proud to be Black - 7
Much better than the previous 2 rated tracks. A return to what is so enjoyable about Run-D.M.C. Lyrically the flow is great, the message is great, and the beat is solid. Mix in some excellent scratching and you get an all around decent track.

Metal Box
Public Image Ltd.
1. Albatross - 1
Vocally it does not sound good and the guitars are pleasant at times, noisy at others. Lyrically it's hard to follow as well, with a lack of meaning or any substance in the lyrics themselves.
2. Memories - 1
It's more of the previous track: lyrics I cannot follow or that have no real purpose. Vocals I do not enjoy. Bass line is solid on this track but the rest of the instruments are not enjoyable.
3. Swan Lake - 3
Rinse and repeat. Guitars and drums are more enjoyable on this track.
4. Poptones - 3
The non-singing parts are better than the singing parts.
5. Careering - 0
Dreadful sound.
6. No Birds - 2
Guitars are nice at times. They are the only highlight for the track.
7. Graveyard - 1
Noise with no structure.
8. The Suit - 0
Horrendous track. The vocals sound insanely dull and lyrically it's not strong at all. The worst track on the album.
9. Bad Baby - 2
Bass is a lot more enjoyable on this track but it is the only redeeming thing about it. Vocals are just as bad as any of the others.
10. Socialist - 2
Purely instrumental track.
11. Chant - -1
I seriously debating giving this a -1 and as I listened to more absolutely was convinced to give it the score. It is the worst track I've listened to so far in the 1001 Albums Challenge (Day 34). Pure noise.
12. Radio 4 - 0
Purely organ-like music. Now I love a good organ (example: Dancing Mad from Final Fantasy VI), but this is just slow and melodic. As if I was in a church but not even the Lord himself can save this album or the rating I will bestow upon it.

In Our Heads
Hot Chip
1. Motion Sickness - 8
Yes, the lyrics are very repetitive but instrumentally/musically it's an incredibly fun song. Very good beat that builds very nicely at the opening before the lyrics even arrive and peak in a wonderful collection of vocals and sound. Solid opening track.
2. How Do You Do? - 8
More great sound. The beat builds well into the chorus, which is an explosion of sound that you cannot help but dance to. It's a great take on an almost house-style of music that dominated the clubs in the 90s and 00s. To me, that is the best sub-genre of EDM music and the base with which all EDM eventually returns to. This is a solid track as an example of that.
3. Don't Deny Your Heart - 4
Cheesy bubblegum electro pop.
4. Look At Where We Are - 6
It's an alright love song. Little bit repetitive, little bit simple, but it's effective and got some great sounds in it overall. A decent track.
5. These Chains - 10
Solid track. Good vocals and great sound. The change between chorus and verses are excellent as is the beat. This is excellent EDM and a highlight of what the genre is.
6. Night and Day - 6
Beat is really really good but lyrically it's all over the place. Lyrically it's almost as if the second half of the song is completely different from the first. Overall a decent track but with better lyrically direction it could have been a lot better.
7. Flutes - 11
Amazing sound with an excellent build. Best track on the album so far. Lyrically it's got a solid flow as well. Amazing piece of music that got more than two plays right out the gate.
8. Now There Is Nothing - 3
Lyrically all over the place after what is an incredibly weak opening. Sound isn't nearly as good as the previous track either. Probably the worst track on the album so far.
9. Ends of the Earth - 7
Decent track overall. Beat is amazing, vocals are good, lyrics are good. This isn't anything that will blow your mind but it's pretty enjoyable.
10. Let Me Be Him - 10
Great track. Really enjoyable vocals that reminds me a lot like the best of Tame Impala. Musically it's really enjoyable too.
11. Always Been Your Love - 6
It's an okay song. The bridge is the worst part of it and kind of a bit of a dead spot in the song but outside of that it's a very standard song. Nothing bad or exceptional about it.

The Poet
Bobby Womack
1. So Many Sides Of You - 10
Bobby Womack's vocals are incredible on this track. The bass is amazing and the drums brilliant lead the track from one line to the next. The background vocals help define this track as a classic soul track. Absolute perfection this track.
2. Lay Your Lovin' On Me - 9
Sax solo is amazing as are the vocals. Really great track with some amazing bass on it as well. Brilliant piece of music.
3. Secrets - 5
Lyrically it's just not as strong. I don't need a significant portion of the song, any song really, to be dedicated to Kentucky Fried Chicken or apple pie.
4. Just My Imagination - 6
Solid love song. Bass sounds great and the lyrics are solid. It's not anything that will blow you away but it's a decent track.
5. Stand Up - 7
Instrumentally this song is a lot more fun than the previous track but lyrically it's a lot weaker, at least in the verses. Choruses are fun at times but it's not enough to really say the entire track is an enjoyable experience. Instead it's just a okay, middle of the road track.
6. Games - 7
Solid track. Pretty simple lyrics but still sung brilliantly and the instrumentally it's a very enjoyable song. The piano is a lovely accompanying instrument and the drums are paired to well with the vocals on this track.
7. If You Think You're Lonely Now - 6
Really weak opening lyrics. It's not a bad song but there's much much better on the album already.
8. Where Do We Go From Here - 7
Decent song to end the album on. Enjoyable albeit a bit repetitive at times it's a lot slower a track than the highest rated ones on the album so far. Solid sound overall.

Fleet Foxes
Fleet Foxes
1. Sun It Rises - 4
Banjo and guitars sound good but lyrically it's a forgettable track. The kind of track that just mellows out into a background sound, like the type you'd hear in a department store fitting room.
2. White Winter Hymnal - 5
It's exactly like the first track in terms of the critique I have. Instruments are a little heavier this time, including an electric guitar, but the structure is exactly the same as that first track.
3. Ragged Wood - 7
Much better sound both vocally and instrumentally. All around a decent track, even with a more mellow tone from the start of the song that leads into the bridge, which builds well. Solid stuff.
4. Tiger Mountain Peasant Song - 6
It's an okay song. Vocally it's great, instrumentally it's very simple. Lyrically it's good. Not anything that will rock your socks off.
5. Quiet House - 1
It's way too repetitive. By the end of the three and a half minutes you are almost begging for the track to turn over.
6. He Doesn't Know Why - 8
The piano at the end feels unnecessary but it still sounds nice and overall this is a good sounding track. Vocals on it are really enjoyable and the highlight of the song.
7. Heard Them Stirring - 7
It's a hymn and there are no actual lyrics. Having said that, the sound is quite pleasant and the beat of the drum is the highlight of the track. Enjoyable even if overly simplistic.
8. Your Protector - 9
The vocals are solid on this track and the drum has an amazingly quiet role in helping push the song along in a very good fashion. The strums of the guitars sound excellent.
9. Meadowlarks - 10
Lovely song. Lyrically strong, instrumentally a brilliant tone that sets the mood for what is a grim metaphor. Best track on the album.
10. Blue Ridge Mountains - 8
Fun sounding song but the tempo pace between the quick parts (which are brilliant) and the slow parts tend to suck the life out of the song a little bit. It's not that the song shouldn't have them, but they're too frequent and sudden that it becomes hard to enjoy just how good the full crescendo of instruments are.
11. Oliver James - 2
Vocals dominate the track but lyrically it doesn't hold up. The track is confusing in its meaning and does not have much instrumentals to offer as a rebut. Those instrumentals also cut out before the vocals at the only thing left to lead the track. Weak song to end the album on.

This Year's Model
Elvis Costello & The Attractions
1. No Action - 2
Bad pop rock music. Lyrically it's a cardboard cutout song with a boring chorus.
2. This Year's Girl - 4
It's a cross between budget Bruce Springsteen and budget Beach Boys. The vocals don't sound great at all. Instrumentally it's ok. Bubblegum pop rock.
3. The Beat - 2
It's more of the same problems as the first two tracks. Lyrically this track is all over the place and none of it makes sense.
4 - Pump It Up - 10
Great sound on the guitars and the drums. Solid lyrics accompany them as well. All round a great track. Deserves to be on a sports game like NHL.
5. Little Triggers - 3
Very repetitive and boring of a track. Vocals sound awful on it.
6. You Belong To Me - 1
Sho whop do whop rock. A lot of it hasn't stood the test of time from the stuff released in the 50s. This is absolutely no different. An age of music well and truly gone.
7. Hand In Hand - 2
It's the sound of his voice I definitely don't like the most. Singing "hand in hand" more than ten times over and over and over and over again is not helping matters.
8. (I Don't Want To Go) Chelsea - 1
This song absolutely makes no sense and Costello's vocals do it no helping. It's the pronunciations of the words and emphasis on specific syllables that turn me off from the artists and the song.
9. Lip Service - 2
It's a budget Beach Boys track. I'm not one who particularly likes The Beach Boys either so it washes over me as an annoying track more than anything else.
10. Living in Paradise - 1
More cardboard cut out bubble gum pop rock. "Oooo I loved you baby but now it's over" music. The kind you've already heard a million times done better.
11. Lipstick Vogue - 2
Same exact thing as the previous track but with better drums on it.
12. Night Rally - 0
Lyrically this track is abysmal. Starts extremely poorly before the verses come in but the lower vocals in the bridge do paint Costello as a great singer and then the track just repeats "night rally" over a dozen times.
13. Big Tears - 1
Vocally and lyrically this is a tough track to get through. Instrumentally it's a very cookie cutter track.
14. Radio, Radio - 3
Lyrically and instrumentally a much better track. The vocals still sound bad but overall it's a significant improvement from the songs before it on the album.

Sail Away
Randy Newman
1. Sail Away - 5
Lyrically it's very strong at times. "We will cross the might ocean in the Charleston Bay" is a great line. The rest of the lines about America are a bit dull. Instrumentally the piano and strings are a fantastic sound.
2. Lonely At The Top - 5
It's a good concept for a song but it's lyrical execution is very poor. You don't really understand why it's "lonely at the top". Very simple song but just too simple at times.
3. He Gives Us All His Love - 3
Slow Jesus music. The strings are nice but it's just so over-simplistic and unnecessary.
4 - Last Night I Had A Dream - 6
Musically and instrumentally this song is fantastic. Such an amazing sound. Lyrically it's incredibly weak, especially in the chorus. Outro's guitar sounds excellent.
5. Simon Smith and the Amazing Dancing Bear - 7
Solid track. Very upbeat with decent lyrics and piano play that makes this a very light hearted, happy, and enjoyable track.
6. Old Man - 11
Beautiful song. It will move you to tears.
7. Political Science - 7
Solid song with a good meaning wrote very well to make it's point perfectly. As a satire, it's a solid track.
8. Burn On - 3
It's not a bad song I just don't understand the point of it. Instrumentally it's fine and lyrically it's okay. It's just very random.
9. Memo To My Son - 7
Solid track. Very upbeat and enjoyable.
10. Dayton, Ohio - 1903 - 5
Vocals sound good and the piano is solid. Very simple song however that passes by very very quickly.
11. You Can Leave Your Hat On - 2
Another completely random song in its lyrical composition. The instruments are extremely monotonous on the track and as such it just doesn't go anywhere.
12. God's Song (That's Why I Love Mankind) - 3
The intention of the song is very good but the track itself is just all over the place. At times brilliant, at other times lost, and at other times a struggle to listen to much like the lyrics try to paint the world as. The album would be better off if this was dropped off the end of it.

Hot Fuss
The Killers
1. Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine - 10
Brilliant vocals and an amazing sound with the bass, guitar, and drums. Really strong opening track. Absolute belter of a chorus too.
2. Mr. Brightside - 11
An all time great. The verses are exquisite but the chorus is an absolute masterpiece of song writing. The percussions on the drums as so much to the sound of the track as does an absolutely incredible bass track. Just perfection in a song.
3. Smile Like You Mean It - 10
Another great track with amazing lyrics in the verses. The guitar waning undertone is a brilliant touch. Bass again pins the track down with an amazing sound that it guides through. Guitar solo in the center of the track is solid. Bridge is very good as well but the outro is particularly fantastic.
4. Somebody Told Me - 10
Verses are really solid but the chorus' flow is exquisite and a real break from the opening three tracks on the album. Sound of the instruments is brilliant with the drums building and fading where needed superbly. Great track.
5. All These Things That I've Done - 11
Brilliant opening with a superb introduction by the drums. The guitar buildup is absolutely legendary. The flow of the verses are amazing and the way choruses are insanely good. The middle drop down into the building bridge is absolutely historic. Best track on the album.
6. Andy, You're A Star - 9
Solid sound. Much more repetitive track than anything previously but the guitars are in rhythm perfectly with the lyrics. Chorus is really solid.
7. On Top - 6
It's a good sound but lyrically it's a bit stale.
8. Change Your Mind - 8
Decent track. The guitar leads in very well before the bass is given the spotlight ahead of the drums inclusion. Great bass track leads the whole song and the lyrics are brilliantly flowing from line to line. Solid stuff.
9. Believe Me Natalie - 5
Middle part of the track is very confusing. Flow of the vocals is the weakest it's been on the album so far. Opening two minutes is very very good but it's too many tone changes in the track it just becomes hard to follow.
10. Midnight Show - 9
Good song. Some of the lyrics in it are magnificently written about the art of deception relationships can take on. Overall it's very enjoyable.
11. Everything Will Be Alright - 4
Way too repetitive a track. Musically it's very good and the guitar solo in the outro is enjoyable. Lyrically it's just very dull.
12. Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll - 5
Instrumentally this song is a lot more fun than the last track but lyrically it's just way too repetitive. Song would have been better had it been two minutes instead of four and a quarter.

Wonderful Rainbow
Lightning Bolt
1. Hello Morning - N/A
Track is under a minute and more a warm up track than anything else so it would be harsh to rate it.
2. Assassins - 4
Decent sound at times but at times also really drowning in itself. This is MUCH better noise rock than the previous albums from the genre I received in this challenge.
3. Dracula Mountain - 2
Some nice instrument play in this but the song is too long and it wears on you after two and a half minutes.
4. 2 Towers - 0
It just a monotonous droning that never ends. Opening minute is a terrible sound.
5. On Fire - 0
The sound just isn't good with the guitars peaking and screeching unpleasantly very often throughout the track.
6. Crown of Storms - 2
The main rift is awesome in this track but everything else in it is a waste of good vinyl.
7. Longstockings - 0
Guitar sounds like one of those terrible high school recorders kids would buy for band before slipping into pointless, directionless, and riftless noise during the second half.
8. Wonderful Rainbow - 1
The track builds to nothing and still contains random guitar peaking/screeching.
9. 30,000 Monkies - 0
Literally just noise. No purpose, no meaning, no concept, no quality.

Court And Spark
Joni Mitchell
1. Court and Spark - 5
Lyrically solid, instrumentally good. Overall a solid opening track to the album. Not anything fantastic but not anything poor either. Just a decent track.
2. Help Me - 7
Great sound. Vocals and guitar are absolutely exquisite on this track. Beat takes a little to get used to but overall it's a good track.
3. Free Man In Paris - 6
Another nice and lovely sound of vocals and guitar. Just like the track before it.
4. People's Parties - 2
Vocally this sounds great but the speed and tempo crash into each other. For example some lines lyrically are in line with the music and other others are sped up and sung really quickly so as to fit the sentence in before the guitar is one it's chords. The longer held notes at the end do not sound good either. Leaves the track feeling too rushed.
5. The Same Situation - 4
Solid but overall average song about searching for love. Nothing remarkable.
6. Car On A Hill - 7
Jazzy track unless the previous 5 on the album. The sax sounds great, as does the piano. Lyrically it's the strongest track on the album so far. Just an overall great track.
7. Down To You - 4
Another song that lyrically feels very rushed. The tempo of the lyrics make the song feel miles all over the place. Background singers feel out of place with how the opening two minutes are as do some of the instruments. Just not a great track.
8. Just Like This Train - 4
Instrumentally it's a bit odd. The pitch is gets too high on a lot of the ending rifts to the lines, at least too high for my liking. Vocals are less of the all over the place style of the previous tracks I've struggled to get through but still threaten at times to return to that random pattern. Overall just an incredibly odd song.
9. Raised on Robbery - 9
Brilliant track. Much more jazzy than anything else on the album but brilliant. Lyrically strong, musically a joy, overall just a solid track with a lot of love about it.
10. Trouble Child - 4
Again the pace is all over the place and the track becomes extremely hard to enjoy because of it. The lines of the verses just crash into each other because of this. It just feels like it could have been better written.
11. Twisted - 2
Like one of those bad solo singers in an underground coffee shop. Again the pace loses itself at times and it happens during the time when Joni's pitch reaches it's highest, which only drowns the actual words out into sound. Lyrically it's very weak on top of that. Forgettable track.

Californication
Red Hot Chili Peppers
1. Around the World - 7
Good sound. The guitars sound great but some of the lyrics are very very weak on the track, particularly in the opening verse and in the bridge. Could have been a lot strong but the flow of the track is fantastic.
2. Parallel Universe - 10
AMAZING sound. The vocals do so well and the guitars are absolutely stunning. Just a great track.
3. Scar Tissue - 9
Great sound. Lyrically the choruses are amazing and the guitar in the bridge is absolutely superb to listen to.
4. Otherside - 11
I sung this song all throughout uni. Absolutely belter. Lyrics and instruments all sound excellent. Brilliant track.
5. Get On Top - 4
Lyrically this track is absolutely awful. Guitar sounds excellent on it but it's not enough to look past the bad lyrically performance.
6. Californication - 10
An all time classic. Brilliant vocals, especially in the verses. These are met with an excellent undertoned guitar in the verses and a crescendo of awesome rock sound in the choruses.
7. Easily - 5
It's an average, okay song. Lyrically it's a bit simple. Instrumentally it's not as loud and enjoyable and unique as the previous tracks. A pass over track.
8. Porcelain - 4
It's just an average middle of the road slow song.
9. Emit Remmus - 3
The rifts on this are excellent but lyrically it's very boring. Vocally it doesn't sound very good.
10. I Like Dirt - 1
Lyrically it's the weakest track on the album. Very lyrically a pointless a track.
11. This Velvet Gone - 8
Much better track. Love the verses and the choruses, especially the way the guitar goes from chord to chord. The drum's percussions leading the undertone of the song through the verses is brilliant work. It adds to what a chorus really should be: the main message of a song that is meant to be bellowed out louder than the rest. Solid work.
12. Savior - 7
Guitars at the opening are an amazing sound. Drumline is led brilliant by the deep base that helps build in and out of the lower bridge at the beginning. Sleigh bells probably don't need to be one the track however. It makes the bridges feel really out of place.
13. Purple Stain - 1
Pace of the song is painful to listen to and the lines about California are toothless. Verses are the worst part of the track.
14. Right on Time - 1
Way too repetitive and the lyrics are insanely hard to keep along with. Worst track on the album.
15. Road Trippin' - 7
Chords and the bass are the highlights of the track. They're absolutely brilliant and the addition of the strings is absolutely perfect. Lyrically okay, the sound of the vocals and the range used is excellent. Solid ending to the album.

This Is Hardcore
Pulp
1. The Fear - 8
A track that's like a modernized Tears for Fears. Lyrically it's a good track with a great guitar sound. Very enjoyable opening experience.
2. Dishes - 3
Lyrically it's not a strong song. Everything else about it is alright but given it's a softer, slower song the vocals dominate most of the sound and they are very uninspiring.
3. Party Hard - 4
Instruments often drown out the vocals that are too low in octave to really enjoy fully. Guitar sound in the verses does sound quite good but it should not come at the cost of the vocals in the first verse. Lyrically this track isn't anything fantastic.
4. Help The Aged - 8
Classic Pulp sound on this track. Really enjoyable sound with a building of the guitars and lyrics that traverse a large landscape of vocal sound to culminate in an excellent track. Best track of the opening four.
5. This Is Hardcore - 9
Another solid building track with an awesome guitar sound. Really really solid title track and lyrically one of the best on the album.
6. TV Movie - 6
Decent song that slowly builds into a crescendo of a chorus until fading out. Overall a solid slower song.
7. A Little Soul - 6
Decent track with a great underpinned chord to lead the verses. Choruses are alright but the middle part of the track is a bit lost in pace vocally.
8. I'm A Man - 9
Quintessential Pulp track. Great guitar sound backed by an excellent drum. Vocals build into the choruses incredibly well on this track. Awesome song.
9. Seductive Berry - 2
Lyrically it's not a great song and vocals are at sometimes drowned out by the background singers and guitars. Forgettable track.
10. Sylvia - 5
It's okay. The louder parts of the track in the second half of it are fantastic but the opening slower parts are very lost. Ends on a great note though.
11. Glory Days - 4
Lyrically it's pretty bad but the guitar leading the track is quite enjoyable. Just feels like a bit of a random song in the verses until you reach the glory days line to lead out of the verses into the bridge.
12. The Day After The Revolution - 7
Drum is superb on this track and adds a great beat. Lyrically it's decent but the song's constant moving from high to low to high to low in the middle of the verses themselves make you feel a bit lost during the track. The guitars are very enjoyable and can help you get through some of the more almost annoying parts of the track.
13. Like A Friend - 8
Solid closing track that builds well. Enjoyable lyrics and a fantastic guitar to accompany an excellent crescendo of the percussions on the drums.

Harvest
Neil Young
1. Out on the Weekend - 6
It's simply. Overly simple. The guitar sounds very lovely but it's restricted to a very very simple chord that feels like it wants to express itself further before having to give way to what is a brilliant harmonica. When the harmonica stops, the monotony of the second verse resumes, taking way the most joyous part of the song.
2. Harvest - 3
An even more simplistic song in both lyric and instrument. Gone are the bigger chords on the guitar and the enjoyment of the harmonica from the previous track.
3. A Man Needs a Maid - 1
Just an awful track.
4. Heart of Gold - 5
Instrumentally great but lyrically a bit boring. Harmonica is used incredibly effectively on the track. Guitar sounds excellent as well.
5. Are You Ready For The Country? - 6
Solid sounding guitars. Piano is a lovely touch as well. Lyrically it's good as well. Nothing that will overwhelm you but not bad either.
6. Old Man - 5
Another decent track that's right in the middle in terms of quality. I'd say mediocre but too many people think that's a negative. Chorus is very good to be fair to the track.
7. There's A World - 2
The orchestral sound is excellent but lyrically it is extremely weak. "We are leaving we are gone" is part of an example of that. On top of that the orchestra drowns a line or two out here or there. Then the song slows down and it just feels like random lines made to rhyme with each other with no purpose or meaning. Just overall a weak track.
8. Alabama - 7
Great track. Guitar sound is superb on the track and the vocals sound really good. Chorus is very enjoyable as well with an awesome guitar solo leading out of it. Best track on the album.
9. The Needle and the Damage Done - 7
Great slow track. Vocals are awesome and the guitar builds and fades brilliantly in and out of the vocals.
10. Words (Between the Lines of Age) - 6
Good sounds but it is essentially just a minimal amount of lyrics before a jam session. The jam session is decent and eventually ends back into another verse. All around an okay track.

Devil Without A Cause
Kid Rock
1. Bawitdaba - 10
Brilliant track. The verses are incredibly solid and the sound is just awesome. Absolute great deep and loud rock sound that was given a nice and length intro to build into. Superb way to open the album.
2. Cowboy - 9
Awesome sound. Everything about this track sounds and is placed perfectly. The background vocals add an amazing sound to dump out of the choruses. Kid Rock's flow is superb during the verses. The guitars and drums sound amazing. All around a great track.
3. Devil Without A Cause - 11
Great track. Amazing guitar underpinning each line of the lyrics, which have an impeccable flow. Opening verse is absolutely massive. Chorus is solid as well.
4. I Am The Bullgod - 8
Instrumentally fantastic. Lyrically it's very weak at times. The track comes and goes lyrically because of this between solid flow and very off lyrics. Overall not a bad track.
5. Roving Gangster (Rollin') - 5
Lyrcially very weak. The MC beatbox drop after the first portion of the track was fantastic. Instrumentally a strong track but the complete pause in the middle of the track was unnecessary and ruins a lot of the enjoyment of it.
6. Wasting Time - 2
Lyrically it's the weakest track so far. Background vocals that sing the chorus are the highlight of the track but overall it's not a great piece.
7. Welcome 2 The Party (Ode 2 The Old School) - 0
Instrumentally it's okay but lyrically this is absolutely horrible.
8. I Got One For Ya' - 3
Chrous is nice but the rest of the song lacks any quality. Verses are pretty weak. Instrumentally it's alright but the compliation feels a bit out of place compared to the rest of the album. Outro is also not enjoyable.
9. Somebody's Gotta Feel This - 4
It's an okay song. It's a little bit simple in the track's construction and overall that makes it a bit of a pass over track. Definitely a return to the kind of tracks the album has opened with.
10. Fist of Rage - 3
Exact same problems as the previous track only exemplified. Instrumentally a lot better however. Bridge is particuarly enjoyable.
11. Only God Knows Why - -1
Autotuned atrocity.
12. Fuck Off - 0
The great flow from the opening tracks returns but the lyrics are not up to snuff. The opening verse is like giving an edgy teenager a mic and telling them that anything they say is okay so they just say obscene stuff for the sake of pushing the envelope. The bridge is the same thing. Eminem is the highlight of the track. On top of that, the track should have ended 4 minutes in but then there's random voicemail notes on the end that are absolutely useless being on the track.
13. Where U At Rock - 4
Much better and a lot like the opening tracks. Has a pretty weak opening but if gets better lyrically the deeper you get into the track.
14. Black Chick, White Guy / I Am The Bullgod - 4
It's alright for a closing track. Bit too long and the song loses itself in the story at times before completely changing tone back to I Am The Bullgod.

Disraeli Gears
Cream
1. Strange Brew - 6
Vocals are good. Remind me of Supertramp a bit with how they are although yes I'm aware that band are about a decade after this album. Guitars sound awesome, especially the solos their given in the bridge. Solid track.
2. Sunshine of Your Love - 10
An all time great. Guitars are amazing on this track and underlined by an excellent drum sound. Verses are absolute belters that you can't help but sign loudly. Superb track.
3. World of Pain - 5
Lyrically it's a bit uninspiring but the guitars are excellent and overall it's not a bad track. Solid sound.
4. Dance The Night Away - 4
Bit too psychedelic a rock track. The bridge is excellent when the instruments all pull back to let the guitar have 5-10 seconds of a small solo.
5. Blue Condition - 2
Slow and monotonous with a lot of random gibberish in it. Guitars are much more muted on the track and it makes it sound almost like an Elvis 50s track in it's composition.
6. Tales of Brave Ulysses - 10
Amazing track. Guitars sounds incredible and the drum line again is fantastic. Vocals do an amazing job to paint a story of the ancient Greek man. Superb track.
7. SWLABR - 8
Great track. Reminds of a Jimi Hendrix piece. Guitars are the highlight of this short track.
8. We're Going Wrong - 2
Too simplistic a track. It's a complete pass over during the album listen.
9. Outside Woman Blues - 4
Guitars are great on this but lyrically it's way too simplistic. Enjoyable but not a track you'll be putting on repeat outside of the rifts.
10. Take It Back - 1
Awful song. Three minutes of just a way-too repetitive song.
11. Mother's Lament - 1
No clue why this is on the album. It's like a saloon style song almost. Odd way to end the album.

Bookends
Simon & Garfunkel
1. Bookends Theme - N/A
The song is too short to be rated. The Reprise will also not be rated.
2. Save the Live of My Child - 2
The background vocals are too loud and the background instruments are too loud as well. Vocals are drowned out on almost the entire track.
3. America - 5
Decent track that's a staple sound for Simon & Garfunkel. Great guitar with light vocals. Nothing phenomenal about the track but it's not poor by any stretch.
4. Overs - 4
The opening verse is poor but then the song improves from there. Not much too it outside of the lyrics and one guitar.
5. Voices of Old People - N/A
It's not a song.
6. Old Friends - 4
Average song. Not enough to it lyrically and the strings are overpowering at times without being orchestral or moving enough. They just hold onto notes too long.
7. Bookends Theme (Reprise) - N/A
8. Fakin' It - 6
More in line with the traditional Simon & Garfunkel sound that's stood the test of time. Solid vocals with great instrumentals. More of an upbeat song as well.
9. Punky's Dilemma - 4
Lyrics are good but the track could do without the random sound effects. Before you brush off their annoyance the track fades out.
10. Mrs. Robinson (From "The Graduate" Soundtrack) - 10
An all time classic. Great guitar sound with excellent lyrics. Vocals sound great. By far and away the best track on the album.
11. A Hazy Shade of Winter - 8
Reminds of a song you'd hear from The Mamas & The Papas. Solid beat and guitars with decent lyrics and a solid pace and flow. Decent track.
12. At The Zoo - 6
Lyrics are okay. Instrumentally it's good. It's just a very strange topic and song to end the album with. Nothing bad and it is enjoyable in its overall sound. Just a bit strange.

Pornography
The Cure
1. One Hundred Years - 10
Vocals can be drowned out a little but they are brilliant and the sound from the guitars is so good. The chords on them are excellent and they are underpinned by a deep and excellent drum. Superb track.
2. A Short Term Effect - 6
It's alright. The sound is good but I feel like the drum is almost exactly the same as the first track. It's harder to understand what he's actually singing on the track as well.
3. The Hanging Garden - 7
Faster drum this time but a quintessential sounding song from The Cure. Pretty good sound but this time it's the drums that are the leading instrument.
4. Siamese Twins - 5
Lyrically very random but otherwise a decent track. The tracks are becoming a bit too monotonous in their composure though. They kind of all sound the same, which is okay if tempo or beat changes. Tempo has slightly but beat has very much not.
5. The Figurehead - 6
It's more of the same solid guitars and drum. Sounds almost exactly like the opening 2 tracks.
6. A Strange Day - 6
Rinse and repeat.
7. Cold - 8
Different pace and tone and very enjoyable. Much slower than the rest of the album but that bass has such a hypnotic and incredibly gripping sound. It makes you feel as if you're preparing for an epic.
8. Pornography - 2
Collection of noise to end the album which is extremely disappointing. The noise also drowns out any and all vocals.

Fuzzy Logic
Super Furry Animals
1. God! Show Me Magic - 6
Great instrumentals but the lyrics is one line repeated endlessly. Could be a lot better but the sound of the music itself is decent.
2. Fuzzy Birds - 3
David Bowie but without the quality. Verses have some strange sound effect on the vocals that make it sound like someone underwater is trying to sing to you. Instrumentally it's okay in the choruses but barely there in the verses. Not a great track.
3. Something 4 The Weekend - 7
Better sound with enjoyable verses. Almost reminds me of the better tracks from The Beatles. Choruses are the wrong octave/pitch and it makes the words undecipherable.
4. Frisbee - 4
Again the guitars and drum sounds great. The lyrics are what make this very unenjoyable. The verses aren't even that bad but the choruses are drowned out and led out with some random vocal sounds that just don't belong on the track.
5. Hometown Unicorn - 8
Decent sounding song. Kind of a throwback to 70s/80s Brit pop-rock bands but overall a great and enjoyable track.
6. Gathering Moss - 4
Bit of a pass over track on the album. Overall it's very average.
7. If You Don't Want Me To Destroy You - 9
Solid track. Drums lead in and out of the lyrics brilliantly. The collection of strings alongside the guitars is lovely. Very fun.
8. Bad Behaviour - 6
Fun song until the bridge which is way too high pitched on the guitars and contain random sound effects. Outside of that, it's a very fun track.
9. Mario Man - 7
Sound is good. Vocals are bit too melodic but they're not bad and the bridge has an absolutely insane guitar solo that is worth the price of admission.
10. Hangin' With Howard Marks - 7
Lyrics are terrible but the guitar is awesome. Drum also helps lead the song in and out of the tone changes on it. Both guitar solos are the absolute highlight of the track and for good reason, they're excellent.
11. Long Gone - 2
Lyrics are way too repetitive and the track just goes on for too long. Easily could have been a three minute track extended to five with random noises and guitar plucking. Completely unnecessary.
12. For Now And Ever - 3
Another track that's just too repetitive both lyrically and instrumentally. Better sound on the guitars than Long Gone but still not enjoyable.

Tea for the Tillerman
Cat Stevens
1. Where Do The Children Play? - 6
Decent song. Very good lyrics and the guitar is great. It's not anything phenomenal but it's not poor by any stretch.
2. Hard Headed Woman - 6
Decent song. I'm not a huge fan of how notes are held vocally both on this track and in Where Do The Children Play? Overall it's not bad though.
3. Wild World - 4
Vocally it just doesn't sound as good at the previous two tracks.
4. Sad Lisa - 3
Not a great song lyrically, especially the opening verse. Strings in the bridge are a wonderful addition to the track.
5. Miles From Nowhere - 8
Lyrically brilliant. Fantastic building and digressing of the instruments throughout the song.
6. But I Might Die Tonight - 5
Average track. Very short but still effective. Not anything too much either way.
7. Longer Boats - 7
Solid track. Vocally brilliant even if the chorus is very repetitive. Introduction of the drums at the end is excellent.
8. Into White - 1
Lyrically too random. Instrumentally very simple. Boring track.
9. On The Road To Find Out - 9
The drums are fantastic and compliment the song so wonderfully. Guitar sounds great and the clash of the percussions add a huge flavour to what is otherwise an excellent track. Lyrically it's superb. Best track on the album.
10. Father And Son - 3
Instrumentally fantastic, the song has lyrics which don't keep pace or structure. The concept of the song is nice but the lyrics are so overly simply it's hard to get through it.
11. Tea For The Tillerman - 6
Decent track to end on. Very very short track as well. Choir is an excellent effect on the end of the track.

The Band
The Band
1. Across The Great Divide - 7
Fun song. Instruments compliment each other very well and lyrically it's very enjoyable as well. Just a fun track.
2. Rag Mama Rag - 6
Another fun track. Lyrics could be better but instrumentally the song is awesome.
3. The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down - 9
Great track. The solo verses in the collection of the band signing in the choruses is brilliant. Just an awesome sound.
4. When You Awake - 3
Not as great a track and the vocals get drowned by the instrumentals a bit. Lyrically is just doesn't sound as strong.
5. Up On Cripple Creek - 6
Decent track. Comparable to the opening two songs on the album. Not a huge fan of the bridge or outro, which just feels like voids they didn't have any ideas on how to fill.
6. Whispering Pines - 2
Not a fan of this track. Lyrically I just don't understand it and I'm not 100% fond of the way the vocals sound either. Forgettable track.
7. Jemima Surrender - 4
Instrumentally great but outside of that there's nothing really special about the track.
8. Rockin' Chair - 3
Another instrumentally decent track but otherwise lyrically boring listen.
9. Look Out Cleveland - 7
Fun track. Instrumentally starts like a boogie-woogie style track before the song kicks into the vocals. Lyrics are very fun. Overall, super enjoyable.
10. Jawbone - 4
It's an okay track. The constant pace changes are a bit annoying and are hard to get used to but the verses are enjoyable.
11. The Unfaithful Servant - 5
Decent song. Very middle-of-the road.
12. King Harvest (Has Surely Come) - 7
Solid finish to the album with a great sound. The guitars are the highlight but the vocals are also very enjoyable.

Moving Pictures
Rush
1. Tom Sawyer - 11
An all time classic. Guitars fit so nicely between the lines of lyrics in the opening verse before they all join in with the drum creating an excellent transition into the chorus. Lyrically the song is so insanely strong. The tone shifts are not something I'm a fan but they're so measured and eased into on this track it makes it work to perfection. Gem of a song.
2. Red Barchetta - 8
Solid track, especially instrumentally. The guitar in the middle part of the track is very good, even if it's drowned out the lyrics. Overall, a good track.
3. YYZ - 8
Solid sounding track. Important to note this is a purely instrumental track and that there are no vocals on it at all. Having noted that, it's a great sound but a bit all over the place at times. Still, a solid track.
4. Limelight - 9
Guitars sound excellent on this track but it's the drums that really shine. They are fantastic and it culminates with excellent vocals and lyrics. Very solid track.
5. The Camera Eye - 7
Alright song with a great bridge into the outro but the track goes on to long and isn't lyrically strong enough to justify eleven minutes. Instrumentally it's good and the drums and guitar lead it well. Without the ending solo it's a 5 out of 10.
6. Witch Hunt - 8
Solid track. The drum and guitars have an excellent sound that compliment each other the whole way and guide the constant tone of the lyrics perfectly. Just a fantastic track.
7. Vital Signs - 8
I don't like the intro to the track but once you get past that part it's solid. A tad too repetitive at times, the guitar and bass are superb on this album and really help the track become quite enjoyable. Drum is as ever so excellent on this track as it is on the rest of the album.
