Kind Of Blue
Miles DavisA classic I had listened to before. I like it but I also find the sharp saxophone kind of grating by the time I'm halfway through the album. Maybe if it was mixed a little differently I'd find it more pleasant.

Nice album while working on a Friday afternoon. Bright, warm, fun.
I always liked the idea of Radiohead more than I actually listened to their music. And they're kinda intimidating. Yes, they make music. But.. you know, music nerds' music. But I liked this.
Recording and mixing is SO good for a live album. You know me, Luke, I'm not a blues man. But this is pretty nice.
Nice to listen to musicians just jam, with no real urgency to wrap up a song or keep it structured tightly. Sounds like dudes in a room, making music together. This is a compliment.
So sick. RIP Ozzy.
The musicianship.. just astounding.
I find this much more pleasant than Kind of Blue. For one, it's calmer. I think the instruments are more varied and mixed better.
Classic. Lots of the same if we're being honest.
Pretty harmless French pop.
Despite the guilt I feel, I must give this one star. It's just truly not my thing.
I like CCR. This is fine, fun, but nothing really stuck to me.
There's probably a time and place for this but it didn't work well for me on a Friday afternoon while working.
Classic stuff. The sheer weight and power of Aretha's legacy guarantees this four stars.
Due to give this one another listen. I liked what I was hearing but didn't give it enough attention.
Maybe the first album I've received on here that I'm quite familiar with. A real, obvious classic.
Never really got the Grateful Dead thing. I understand their live shows are what give birth to the culture/legend surrounding the band. But I've never known how to engage with them. An album that begins with a 23min song may not be the right place. That said, it's nice to listen to people jam while I work.
This has a lot of what I like, or at least what I liked ten years ago when this album was released. Some moody heartlock rock. But I find that the instrumentation (mainly the drums?) don't vary much across the tracks, meaning all the melody and, I don't know, musical ideas (?) are coming from the vocals only. I think that's what separates this greatly from my very special boys, The Killers, who have a sound but try lots of weird stuff, some of which doesn't work great, but at least makes each song stand apart. This review may annoy people who know anything at all about music but I'm pretty sure this is at least B- music criticism.
I didn't love this. Flory loves this. I think my opinion has been swayed.
Oh yeah.
Need to finish listening. Honestly, really fascinating. As a piece of music, I do not find this pleasant to listen to. But I love the lyrics and this hyper local, small stakes storytelling. Slice of life rap. It's kinda incredible.
This kicked off a long day of listening to REM.
