Real banger, 11/15 songs ended up in my playlist.
- Knew Californication, Otherside and Scar Tissue beforehand.
- Porcelain is probably the one that stands out the most by it's style yet it's really cool.
Day 1 of cursing Spotify for refusing to play albums without Premium.
Up to Sound and Vision : Album might be the type you play to have good background sound. Pretty repetitive so far.
Almost a synthwave vibe on some tracks.
Up to Weeping Wall : I'm bored.
Just wow, damn.
Gotta listen to Sonnet again some time. For some reason people love it, but it didn't quite enjoy it.
Missing Come On/Deep Freeze. It's a 15 minutes track, so I was a bit lazy.
Overall very chill tunes, either melancholic or cheerful, but quite laidback. Pretty relaxing. Solid album.
Decent but nothing really memorable ? Aside from Mr. Blue Sky which is an eternal banger lol.
Having trouble finding something that stands out, but overall it's a nice album so far (up to Fireplace).
Will probably rate it 3/5, unless one of the three last ones feels special, then it will be a decent 4/5.
Indie rock is cool but doesn't really match my vibe... Street Joy was pretty nice though.
Just learned that he's the singer of the band The Smiths. Really nice voice, actually.
Not too much out of the ordinary, though, but had a good time listening. Worth checking.
You know it was great
Especially A Venture
Such a good album
Couldn't listen to the whole album, missing :
- Crow Jane
- O'Malleys Bar
- Death is not the End
Otherwise, very entertaining, thanks the various styles of songs, but also thanks to the lyrics of the songs, who ALL depict murder.
Where the Wild Roses Grow is an absolute masterpiece. Really chilling song.
Tones carrying both sorrow and cheer, with songs that can alternate between the two in a single track. Though the transition is pretty well done, it makes it hard for me to feel impacted.
Whole album has a big "go with the flow" vibe (soul-ish style).
Absolutely AMAZING voice.
I'm bored as hell, honestly. At least he has a nice voice, but this feels blank.
Didn't understand. Like, at all. I truly do not understand.
Whole album is 1h10, I stopped after 10 minutes maximum.
Nice voice and tunes, nothing much out of the ordinary but still decent ??
Don't know what to say in particular... That's how average it felt lmao.
For now it sounds more like reggae than punk rock to be fair... And I have trouble enjoying reggae 😅
A lot of tracks (16) but not too long (album is 52 minutes).
It was enjoyable, some songs deserve more attention than they got, some didn't struck my mind as much as it did with most people.
Lot 105 serves no purpose and is, as such, indispensable.
Clearly felt Bowie's style, and I'm not sure if that's a compliment, given that I'm not a fan of his albums so far.
Some tracks like Sister Midnight and China Girl were nice and I will probably listen to them again sometime, but overall it was... Meh.
Light tones, very free-spirited ? I would say I was bored, but the album has many songs for such a short time (12 songs in ~30 minutes, average of 2:30 per song). At least the pace makes it easy to listen to, because it lacks content.
Really good, although I've taken a better liking to the "rock style" ones rather than the slower paced ones. Which is ironic given the fact that the first the song by Led Zeppelin I've listen to was Stairway to Heaven.
Amazing vocals and instrumentals.
Some tracks will have a niche place in my playlist, but overall this isn't really my style. I do recognise the tones of voice and instrumentals proper to reggae, but getting familiar with it isn't enough to make me like it constantly for now...
Really great voice, a style that I could really like, but unfortunately the instrumentals are really weird and disturbing— sometimes they are straight up annoying. Most tracks are also really long (~6 minutes), which makes them hard to listen to when some moments don't sound right.
Deserves to be remembered, though. Some albums may be better.
Quite good, reminds me of country.
Harmonica might be a little too much for me, but folk rock is a genre that is to be appreciated.
First time listening to an hip-hop album, and I gotta say that it's a nice change of pace. Some tracks feel like the song isn't going anywhere, but some show a real harmony in the rhythm, tempo and rhymes.
Most people I read in the comment sections on the songs compare Pulp to Blur and Oasis because of the genre they share (being Britpop) but honestly their style is really different from them, although in a good way. Very nice finding.
An enjoyable album, with a few memorable songs, but that's pretty much it.
Many songs (19 songs) for 5-6 better than average tracks. Otherwise, it's pure The Clash, which is a style I enjoy but wouldn't listen 24/7.
Nice experience overall !
Jazz is pretty boring in my opinion... Half of the album is just the same songs (and no, I don't mean a B-side).
Pretty chill, will have to go back to it some other time to explore what's been done.
Overall pretty boring... I STILL don't like Bowie's style.
Some songs are "normal", though : Beauty and the Beast is a nice addition to my playlist and I already knew Heroes (by far the most popular track of the album)
Under Pressure is still his best lmao.
Pour pain, war, helplessness, injustice and trauma into a bowl, and stir until it somehow comes out as soothing.
Classic Aerosmith here, with the instrumentals and the vibe that comes without saying with them. Very solid album.
First time trying soul, and it's actually pretty good. I don't enjoy those moments when the singer just blows it, though, it mostly hurts my ears...
But great album overall.
Great album ! It's nice to have more references from the 60's, and most of the tracks would fit really well in a reading session.
Stopped at Blue because it's current 23:30, but great album. Reading while listening to it was very enjoyable, Beyonce does wonders with her voice, puts the emotion where and when it sounds the best.
Pretty much my style when it comes to rock. Very solid reference !
Nothing much to say here. Their rock seems to be greatly influenced by country, which I'm not a fan of. Some songs (the first) were nice, but their best productions clearly aren't in this album.
I was a bit sceptical because, well, 'Murica and shit. But it's actually pretty cool. I remembered I already knew Dancing in the Dark, which is a very solid track on its own.
Glorified elevator music. Like, what.
Great instrumentals, but the song takes almost two minutes to get interesting, when it actually gets interesting. Otherwise, it's just boring.
The album was very different from what I'm used to with The Cure. The tone was much more somber, and I admin I don't know what to think of it at the moment. I do admit that it was enjoyable, at least.
Really original — so much that I'm not sure it would fit in my playlist — but a nice experience, especially while reading. One track was literally 10 minutes long, which was a bit annoying to be honest.
Just listened to the first one, and immediately understood I wouldn't be able to go all the way.
Didn't get to fully listen to it, but I like it.
Already listened to it.
Like, it's just perfect.
I mean I'll listen to it again no problem.
But it's perfect.
Did I mention it's perfect ?
Mediocre at best... Some tracks feel repetitive and empty, the instrumentals and rhythm really don't appeal to me either. Pretty boring.
Didn't listen to it because it's 3 hours long, so I'll just give it average.
Nice vibes, although I have absolutely no idea how I'll add those tracks to my playlist, because it's a completely new style to me.
Nice. That's all. The New Wave vibe works wonders.
Hard to describe, but amazing to read to.
Underrated. Great instrumentals, and overall really easy to listen to. There's something in the tone that's really unique to The Verve, that I can't really describe, but that makes the whole album mesmerising.
It was alright, but not memorable.
Nothing much to say here...
Great album. Don't know what to say else, except that I had a nice time listening to it. It felt light, easy to listen.
Nice voice. I don't know what to say more.
Britpop is pretty cool overall.
I usually don't like jazz much, but this one is alright.
Nice but a bit too different from my usual playlist to include properly into my routine. I lack references in the genre.
Starting to take a liking to hip-hop, but I'm still a bit picky.
I really enjoyed the grunge style of the album — reminded me of Nirvana.
Reminded me of songs I haven't heard in ages. Great voice, although I found that it fits more with slower-paced songs.
Honestly mid. Not bad enough for me to want to skip a track, but it would be really be fine as a background noise only. Some tracks sound like the previous one, and overall the album doesn't seem to experiment at all.
It was alright. Nothing much stood out to me, maybe because it's a style I'm not too knowledgeable about, but overall, the average song was enjoyable.
I mean, it's not among the best ratings for nothing.
A tad boring, to be honest.
It started okay— Pretty well, actually. But the rest is just a lot of "nggas and btches" with a tad of fcky fck fkcs.
Rounding up to three for the first two tracks, but this was a long hour.
Conveys a really nice atmosphere, one that I would have trouble describing as I pretty much never heard it in music. The closest I've known to this is Cigarettes After Sex, and that's a pretty big stretch.
It's alright I guess. Some lyrics are straight up misogynistic and just make a song lame, but otherwise it perfectly conveys the chaotic and frustrated atmosphere of a social class that's still blamed for even existing.
It's more of a 3.5, so I'll round up. Nothing much to say about it though.
Sounds like "default" rock by definition.
Running up that Hill is already worth the album four stars. The whole album sounds otherworldly, like you're on some weird drug that's somehow good for your brain. Some songs have a more "ordinary" tone, but the overall experience makes you want to just lie down and listen for 45 minutes.
Okay so. So far I really didn't enjoy Bowie's albums. The only times I liked some of his songs were before this website suggested anything. Now, this one is the most popular here. So I have some expectations.
Update ; Yeah, it was great. By far the best one I've listened to until now.
Meh. Some tracks were cool, but it's not my style.
Just learned that he did Crazy with Gnales Barkley, though. Kinda cool.
Unlike everything I know so far. This just sounded otherworldly, but in a great way, in a "Why am I finding out about this now ?" way.
Pretty boring... A lasting feeling that the songs were made on improv' and never improved.
Child in Time is great at first, but the solo just ruins everything. It serves no purpose, breaks the rhythm, the mood, everything, for 2:30 minutes before getting back to the song. This solo is like putting add for another track inside Child in Time. Perchance.
Exception of the album, Black Night was really great.
