Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Apr 02 2026

Some good guitar solos. Not bad but didn't really grab me as some rock albums do

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Apr 03 2026

Psychedelic rock. Very fun Melodies and good vocals. Surprisingly enjoyable

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Apr 06 2026

That’s a lot of harmonica. I’m not a big fan of his voice, a bit too whiny. Some very long songs as well made it a bit of a difficult listen at points

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Apr 07 2026

Really enjoyable. Best one yet. Mick Jagger with some excellent vocals and some really well put together songs.

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
Apr 09 2026

Surprisingly extremely catchy. Probably the best album I've had so far. Lots of songs from movies. Without You was the best on here

Basket of Light by Pentangle
Apr 10 2026

Very weird, medieval style folk music. Not a fan

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Apr 13 2026

some very long songs but pretty enjoyable. Maybe a bit forgettable

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
Apr 14 2026

Nice. Need to give it another listen as I wasn’t focussing but sounds good

Teenage Head by Flamin' Groovies
Apr 15 2026

pretty dull, not doing much for me yet

American Beauty by Grateful Dead
Apr 16 2026

grew on me but still pretty average

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Apr 17 2026

Huge W - 4 all timer songs in one album

Brothers by The Black Keys
Apr 21 2026

Just a bit vanilla. Kind of like a fifa sound track but not the good kind

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Apr 22 2026

Such a good jazz album. Straight into the playlist

Tommy by The Who
Apr 23 2026

Pretty weird and way too long. Not a fan of the rock opera style tbh

Mott by Mott The Hoople
Apr 24 2026

Another pretty boring rock album. All the way from Memphis was okay but nothing special

Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
Apr 27 2026

Very much enjoying this one. Feels like proper rock having come off the back of The Who and Mott The Hoople. This is an album that is made to be turned all the way up

Apr 28 2026

Christ this is so boring. Every song sounds the exact same

Apr 29 2026

Live recording of a smoky jazz performance. This is my first experience of Tom waits and enjoyed it.

Space Ritual by Hawkwind
Apr 30 2026

Wtf is this? 2 HOURS. I’d never heard of space rock and hope never to again

Headquarters by The Monkees
May 01 2026

Felt a bit dull and nothing-y. After a bit of research, it's clear why. Quite corporate and formulaic. Maybe if I'd grown up in this era, I'd feel more strongly towards it.

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
May 04 2026

I really wanted to love this but none of the songs really jumped out at me. Maybe it will grow on a second listen

The Clash by The Clash
May 05 2026

Good. Probably not as good as some of their later work but can’t complain

Bad Company by Bad Company
May 07 2026

Good rock album with strong vocals. Songs sound a bit generic though

Snivilisation by Orbital
May 08 2026

Very strange. Inoffensive but I did forget it was playing through my headphones for about half an hour. Very nothing-y

21 by Adele
May 13 2026

one of the best of the 2010s. Absolute banging ballads throughout with a couple of more forgettable songs thrown in

Pornography by The Cure
May 14 2026

I get it. It’s dark, brutal, brooding. But also a bit boring. The intentional droning sound makes it sort of drown out at times

Scum by Napalm Death
May 15 2026

What on earth was that

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
May 18 2026

Smooth, sexy, but a bit repetitive

Arrival by ABBA
May 19 2026

I want to hate but it’s not easy

Stardust by Willie Nelson
May 20 2026

Quite nice and sweet

All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
May 26 2026

Honestly really good but just too long. Would have been a 5 if it had been cut back a bit

Southern Rock Opera by Drive-By Truckers
May 28 2026

they keep talking about Lynyrd Skynyrd which is pretty annoying. A few decent rock songs on here though

After The Gold Rush by Neil Young
May 29 2026

needs a 2nd listen. Quite enjoyable but didn't wow me. Nice folk music

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Jun 02 2026

Just scraped a 3 because sharp dressed man was pretty good

Butterfly by Mariah Carey
Jun 04 2026

Not as bad as I was expecting. RnB influenced and a really strong voice

Pretenders by Pretenders
Jun 05 2026

I don't really get it. Needs more of a hook for me, whereas it is 90% talking over some decent instrumentals

Sea Change by Beck
Jun 08 2026

Pretty sad but didn’t really connect with me

Mothership Connection by Parliament
Jun 09 2026

First real introduction to funk. Sounded good but didn't really connect with me

Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis
Jun 12 2026

Beautiful. I don’t know enough technically to say why but it was beautiful

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Jun 15 2026

Not bad. Very very American but it has catchy hooks and strong vocals

Different Class by Pulp
Jun 16 2026

Honestly I was expecting better but common people is enough to get it at less 4 stars on its own

Kenya by Machito
Jun 17 2026

A Latino style jazz. Not really for me but I’m sure it’s technically good

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Jun 18 2026

Alien abduction crap. My personal favourite was oxygene number 3, or was it number 4. At least it was short

Smile by Brian Wilson
Jun 19 2026

Another pretty dull, forgettable album for me

Guero by Beck
Jun 22 2026

Surprisingly fun. This is the most fifa album I’ve heard in a while. Stuck between a low 4 or high 3

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Jun 23 2026

It’s all a bit too vanilla for me. Inoffensive enough though

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Jun 24 2026

Paint it black was good

Vespertine by Björk
Jun 25 2026

She has a nice voice but I just don’t understand it. The songs are weird and all blend into one

Kollaps by Einstürzende Neubauten
Jul 07 2026

I’m sorry I actually can not do this

Ten by Pearl Jam
Jul 08 2026

My first grunge album. I like the vibe and 2-3 songs really stood out to me

Something/Anything? by Todd Rundgren
Jul 09 2026

An hour and a half is far far too long. A couple of nice songs but also some lyrics that haven't aged too well. I do quite like the 70s sound though - a bit Elton John-y

Tago Mago by Can
Jul 10 2026

The songs are all like 8 minutes which is my first red flag. Giving it the benefit of the doubt for now… mushroom was a shorter song and was a bit more palatable but then there was a 16 minute monstrosity

Let's Stay Together by Al Green
Jul 13 2026

some really strong songs on there. Beautiful voice

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Jul 14 2026

Honestly underwhelming. Too experimental for me

The Who Sell Out by The Who
Jul 15 2026

A weird combination of radio jingles. Can’t believe this made it onto this list. Who is replaying this?

Black Metal by Venom
Jul 16 2026

First introduction to black metal as a genre. Obviously this was quite influential but the sound just isn’t for me.

Jul 17 2026

When I hear the words 'concept album' I immediately worry. Then I hear it's a two-sided 90-minute album and I know my commute is doomed. A few nice songs in here but they're just completely washed out for me

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Jul 20 2026

My second Marvin Gaye album but still no Beatles is suprising. Once again, very enjoyable though

Achtung Baby by U2
Jul 21 2026

It grew on me and hopefully will continue on the second listen, although not many stand out songs in my mind

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
Jul 22 2026

Really sweet, well written songs. Also technically very good

The Slim Shady LP by Eminem
Jul 23 2026

This is such a hard album to rate. He’s undeniably talented and it’s clear he’s going to go on to big things at this time. But some of the lyrics have aged so poorly… well they can’t have been great back when this came out but they’re somehow worse now. I’m still leaning towards a 4 just due to pure talent but we don’t quite get the best of him here.

Madman Across The Water by Elton John
Jul 24 2026

Tiny dancer is a huge song but it surprisingly backs it up pretty well. Some of his best work

Here's Little Richard by Little Richard
Jul 27 2026

Insanely good. Feels so significant, what a brilliant voice. My only criticism is that the songs are a little repetitive. But they are repetitively brilliant

War by U2
Jul 28 2026

My 3rd U2 album and still no sign of the Beatles… weird. Started with Sunday Bloody Sunday which I really enjoyed. I think I enjoyed this more than the last two but still not really connecting with me

Jul 30 2026

I was excited for this as I love this era and so much good came out of these groups. I found it didn’t connect with me though, like it was missing something. Maybe it didn’t feel “fun” enough. Not that every album needs to be fun, but I feel like this era of hip hop thrives when it is playful.

Face to Face by The Kinks
Jul 31 2026

A few nice songs in here. I wasn't familiar with them but they seem to be The Beatles if they never broke into the US

Got worried when I heard “concept album” but I really enjoyed this. I feel like it would be a difficult one to explain to non-brits as there are so many references to our culture and class systems. As a Brit, I loved the “cynicalness” of it. Shanghai-la was a standout track

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
Aug 04 2026

Started with an enjoyable song in Shout but for some reason it went on for 7 minutes. A few good songs in here

Aug 06 2026

What on earth was that. The last 3 minutes were bird sounds and were the most enjoyable minutes of the entire album

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Aug 10 2026

This was a nice, cute little album. Didn't blow me away but very enjoyable

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Aug 11 2026

This was quite enjoyable and technically good but it just felt like it was missing something

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
Aug 12 2026

Just a collection of Scandinavian screeching. Some quite nice vocals but it comes together quite weirdly

The Real Thing by Faith No More
Aug 13 2026

It felt a bit corny at times. Felt similar about Incubus as it sounded amazing at the time but hasn't aged that well musically. But still some good songs in here
