1001 Albums Summary

Makes me imagine a 1969 summer backed by blues scales. Probably cooking meth #merica #folk

radiohead second album lol ,l makes me feel like i'm in a movie

5/5 for deez nuts

come onn. even fw Listen this time

few songs i really enjoy, not sure how to rate these. hmm If i rate objectively, all albums will get at least 2 stars. Then again, I suppose there's no point of trying to objectively rate them, since they're already on the list of the best albums of all time.. It would only serve to showcase my idea of what a good album should be (which means fuck all, and would be seen by nobody), rather than how i FEEL about it. Since the thoughts I've written on albums so far has been completely based on personal enjoyment and feeling, I'll make the star rating reflect that too. 1 star - didn't like it at all 2 star - meh 3 star - pretty good 4 star - pretty great 5 star - personal fav why did i even write that I know how star ratings work

immediately replayed after first listen then again n again.. its alright

needed

not on spotify

didn't pay much attention was playing slay the spire

this guy tells stories

never described anything as fantastic before but this elicited it from me. ticks so many boxes, you can't finish the album without being at least a little impressed by it

expected more thats on me

thought this was gonna be some stomp clap bs.. and it was!

shoutout byron bernstein

reminds me of blur

not for me but downtown train is great

not on spotify

very cool.. they put something in this that my dork mind can't articulate. kept getting this band and Massive attack confused now i know the difference

fw nick drake again, obv not his best but a crazy debut at like 19.

more cool 90s portishead massive attack type stuff, saving for ambient, probably wouldn't listen actively again

would listen again

fun, playful, feel-good in a weird kind of way, like when your friend makes a funny joke about their childhood trauma and it lands but then your brain realises how messed up and sad it really was

would be lying if i said hearing some lame news while listening to this didn't affect the rating a little however it reminded me of the band Television so i listened to them which lifted my mood n i fixed the rating. thank you televsion

great for chillaxing bgm

kept pulling me in unexpectedly while i was reading, and keeping me there.. in a hypnotic, psychedelic kind of way. the halfway point felt like a warm waiting room where everything was familiar again, but before i knew it i was thrown right back in. I'd probably need a shaman present to get the full experience out of this album

good album for jacking off to abstract ideas like power and conquest

not best but +1 for eruption

makes me wanna go 2001

white blood cells clears

great message but bored me a bit.. could easily cut out half the album n id enjoy it the same

WE WANT THE FUNK

tried playing along with the album and it really was all power chords lol crazy and really fun experience, that being said listening gets a bit repetitive. boulevard of broken dreams and wake me up when september ends still the only songs id listen to again

thought it was gonna be some ambient space shit damn brian

extra star for cult of personality i did not fw this album

very close to a 5/5.. more like a 4.7, listened a couple times n couldn't put a finger on what was missing, overall his voice didn't grow on me but there r some songs that have been / will be all timers for me. I do remember thinking something along the lines of "this is what music should sound like" but the flaming lips are very critically acclaimed so maybe im biased bruh who fkn cares anyway great album closer to 5 than 4

rip

kinda pissed me off

expected to like more than just dreams, but their best songs r spread out across their discography

filled with cool sounds. woulda been sick as a rasta jungle albm

i get it.. the predictable 'lyrical miracle, lover has another' rhyming felt endearing, i might just have a soft spot for this era of music

+1 for green light

cant believe i let his reputation as old shirtless man with weird torso lead me to think this would be shit ha, really solid.. short but sweet

fun

on its own wouldn't have any interest in listening to this but perfect for studying reading etc. definitely saving

can't imagine listening to this when it came out. will never get over that organ

pilgrimage through the bush, stop to tweak out, continue

melodic psychedelic britpop loaded with fun i am a fan

aussie pride / nostalgia aside, this album appeals to literally everything i love about music. the level of creativity you hear through abundant and intricate sampling in tracks that all seamlessly flow into one another puts you on an indescribable journey that you find something new in on every listen. at the very least technically and creatively impressive, to me a masterpiece.

rating system goes like this 5 - favourite 4 - save 3 - like, not enough to save 2 - not for me 1 - hate

this guy may have invented music

bit abrasive for me
