Clandestino by Manu Chao

This was good latin fun.

Young Americans by David Bowie
Apr 21 2026

I only knew the radio songs (Young Americans and Fame) before listening. The rest was good too. There was an unexpected Beatles cover (Across the Universe), which was fun.

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
Apr 22 2026

I had never heard of these guys. It was relaxing and pleasant. I could listen for sure while working on something. Maybe a bit on the boring side, though.

21 by Adele
Apr 23 2026

It all sounds good, maybe not my genre.

Document by R.E.M.
Apr 27 2026

Good, would listen again.

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Apr 28 2026

Classic. Smiths are a bit melodramatic for me, but I can listen to this album.

Clandestino by Manu Chao
Apr 29 2026

This was good latin fun.

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Apr 30 2026

This is a good album, maybe a great one. I have a hard time with all the explicit lyrics though. It's too frequent for my sensistive ears.

Mothership Connection by Parliament
May 01 2026

I used to listed to this one regularly. Thanks for reminding me that it had been a while. Great album, but I think everyone already knows that.

Brothers by The Black Keys
May 04 2026

Good. I've always wondered why these guys fell from favor. Their music is very listenable rock.

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
May 05 2026

I don't understand Steely Dan. There are some clever lyrics, but this isn't something I need to hear again.

Crazysexycool by TLC
May 06 2026

It's just okay. Probably won't listen to this again.

Dirt by Alice In Chains
May 07 2026

This album...it's overrated. Other 90s grunge has aged well (Pearl Jam), but Alice in Chains just feels dated now. It's not as strong musically or lyrically as the timeless albums on the list. I think it's okay to forget this album.

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
May 08 2026

Absolute classic. Peace Frog.

Play by Moby
May 11 2026

This is good. Easy to listen to while working. Good backgroun music.

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
May 12 2026

Good, fun. Not sure I can listen over and over again.

Mask by Bauhaus
May 13 2026

Just okay. There's a lot of punk I'd rather listen to.

Peter Gabriel 3 by Peter Gabriel
May 14 2026

I listened, but I was distracted. Nothing really jumped out at me. Sorry, Peter.

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
May 15 2026

Wiiiiiiild Horses couldn't drag me away from this album. Every song.

Amnesiac by Radiohead
May 18 2026

It's Radiohead, so it's pretty great. But this is not my favorite Radiohead album. When I get a Tier 2 album from a great band, it makes me wonder of all the tier 1 albums from that band are also on the 1001 list.

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
May 19 2026

Pretty good. Famous songs, pop. Nothing other than the well known songs jumps out.

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
May 21 2026

Pretty good, tiny bit of jazz in here with hip hop

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
May 22 2026
Remedy by Basement Jaxx
May 28 2026

Fine. Easy listen, not much meat on the bone.

Bad Company by Bad Company
May 29 2026

Solid rock album.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Jun 01 2026

Great double album.

Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen
Jun 02 2026

You go through these with a bunch of 3-4 star albums, and then you hit something like this that blows them away.

Fred Neil by Fred Neil
Jun 03 2026

Fun to hear a previously unknown singer songwriter. Pretty good. I will likely never listen to it again though.

Beach Samba by Astrud Gilberto
Jun 04 2026

Pretty smooth, soft, samba. Nothing extraordinary, but it's pleasant enough.

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Jun 08 2026

This was much better than expected. I only knew the radio song, but the whole album rocks.

Nevermind by Nirvana
Jun 09 2026

Obviously an all timer.

Beyond Skin by Nitin Sawhney
Jun 10 2026

This is probably the worst album suggested so far. Nothing really stands out musically or lyrically.

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Jun 15 2026

What an album! This is great as background, work music, and it's also great as something to focus on. Brilliant.

Revolver by Beatles
Jun 16 2026

Obviously an all-timer.

Queens of the Stone Age by Queens Of The Stone Age
Jun 23 2026

Pretty basic, generic rock and roll. Nothing really jumps out, but it's certainly easy and enjoyable.

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Jun 29 2026

A few mediocre radio songs and a bunch of filler, all with a poser vibe.

Live! by Fela Kuti
Jun 30 2026

This is what I signed up for. New album for me, very good.

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Jul 01 2026

The King! It's great stuff.

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Jul 02 2026

It's okay. Drags quite a bit with occasional bangers.

Vauxhall And I by Morrissey
Jul 03 2026

Sounds a lot like Morrissey, which is okay.

I really wanted to like this more, but it's just okay. You hear stuff from the Kinks and think they are just a hair behind the Beatles or Stones, but then you get into their albums and see they are actually quite far behind.

Cypress Hill by Cypress Hill
Jul 10 2026

I'd give it 5 stars if not for the overabundance of explicit lyrics.

Out of Step by Minor Threat
Jul 16 2026

I like punk, but this is so one-note. Just hard loud punk. It's okay.

Henry's Dream by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jul 17 2026

Nick Cave, so intense.

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Jul 20 2026

I keep trying, but I don't like anything else as much as OK Computer or The Bends. There just isn't enough melody in the rest of it all.

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Jul 21 2026

All timer, great sound, great guitar adn vocals.

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Jul 22 2026

In the running for greatest album of all time, clearly 5*

25 by Adele
Jul 24 2026

This got old pretty fast

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
Jul 27 2026

Love the talking heads, love this album.

Imagine by John Lennon
Jul 28 2026

Two amazing songs and some filler. Good filler, and the two songs are classics. So 4*.

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Jul 30 2026

Love it. Giving it 4 instead of 5 for the unfortunately aged second track.

Playing With Fire by Spacemen 3
Jul 31 2026

I had never heard of them, but this was great.

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Aug 03 2026

Great album, and I don't even love this band.

Wild Is The Wind by Nina Simone
Aug 04 2026

Just a little boring musically and lyrically.

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Aug 05 2026

Every song on this album is great.

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
Aug 07 2026

Everything to like, nothing to dislike on this album.

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
Aug 11 2026

Solid all the way through.

The Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips
Aug 14 2026

This was okay. Nothing spectacular, a bit repetitive.
