Review: I grew up on Steely Dan, so these songs were played frequently over the years. This album is quintessential yacht rock with the well-produced marriage between its slick jazz beats and classic rock sound. Although I wouldn't choose to listen to this entire album on repeat due to its slower pacing, Deacon Blues, Peg, and Josie will remain favorites of mine with a newfound love of Black Cow.

Review: This is the first time I've listened to a Stones album all the way through. Of course they're a phenomenal band that has become synonymous with the idea of Rock 'n' Roll itself, but they're right on the periphery of my taste in rock. I've never heard any of these songs until today, and most sounded like filler to the point where after five songs in, the music all blended together. I liked the blend, but nothing stuck out as exceptional like I would expect from this band.

Rio felt out of place at the top. I would've placed Rio deeper in the album as a reward for listening through. I've heard some Black Sabbath in my time and I just figured I wasn't a heavy metal head. But I now realize that listening to the whole album is the format in which it's supposed to be enjoyed. The harsh dissonant riffs, the rich bass, the enchanting drums, Ozzy's voice... it's all composed and mixed so perfectly together. Now onto listen number four.

Review: This starts off as a pretty good jazz album. Then Maseru hits. And you see a romanticized montage of all the successes you're going to encounter in your life like the epilogue scene from La La Land. There's a brief lull halfway through, but before you can catch your breath, the tempo picks back up and boom immediate reprise. Besides that, the other tracks were intriguing and unique enough to hold their own, so I'll be returning back to this album frequently.

Review: This was a great album to listen through with plenty of well-known hits and hidden gems found within. I loved how uplifting it was, especially the baby in the bath in Isn't She Lovely - such a sweet and tender addition that I never heard with the radio edit. My only mark is that since this is a double LP, it loses some points in the Replayability category due to its extended length. Review: I am a known Taylor Swift hater, but I promise I did my best to keep that in check while listening to this album and truly be as impartial as possible. So I challenged myself to answer some of the following questions with each new track. Why does this album deserve to be on this list? How does it push the envelope to earn the recognition as one of the greatest of all time? Are there any golden nuggets in here that will help distinguish this album from its counterparts 50 years from now? Is Tay-Tay truly the best at resonating the struggles of love through music? (I mean that's the majority of her discography's content, so she must be excellent at it by now.) And all of these questions lead me to a single answer: no. Her "stylized", lowercase letter titles are the extent of her creativity, which leaves behind the actual music as an untouched mass of concentrated, gentrified, pop-slop. I did not like nor dislike any of her songs because I genuinely could not tell them apart. I do not even remember what I listened to because they left no impression at all. So this album gets a low score from me not because I'm a hater, but because it's addition to this list tarnishes the reputation of the thousand others.

It's got a strong, fast beat, good bass to rock your head to, and it's actual punk that I can both tolerate and enjoy. Tuesday's Gone was fun to hear on a Wednesday morning. Simple Man brings a certain peace with it. And then you hit Free Bird. Free Bird alone bumps it from a 3 to a 4, maybe even to a 5 on further review. This track somehow manages to properly build tension and anticipation for the first 5 minutes before finally releasing a 4 minute jam session of pure, rock-and-roll head banging. Review: After listening twice through, this album left me wanting. It has the makeup of an album that I should completely enjoy: a concept with an interesting subject matter, progressive rock operatics, a HOF band... but it just... didn't click for me. The Overture sets up the album very nicely, but it slowly devolved with each new track and the out-of-place interludes. Maybe I'm just having a bad morning and I couldn't wrap my head around this one as much as I wanted to. There's a chance I'll re-review this in the future. But for now, I'll sit in disappointment.
