The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
Bob Dylani don't care if i sound shallow but this is one of the best albums of all time sure his lyrics are dense and it's kinda pompous but u just gotta roll wit it
i don't care if i sound shallow but this is one of the best albums of all time sure his lyrics are dense and it's kinda pompous but u just gotta roll wit it
it was rly good but then i saw it was 40 songs and then i was like man was that necessary
the epitome of glam rock. it made me desperately want to watch him perform this live. the keys! the sax! his vocals! he's just oozing charisma that's funky, ostentatious, and wild, making you feel like if you had a night out on the town with him it would be the craziest and most fun night. some may say it's unfocused, but I think the disparate stories under this funky glam rock persona cater to Aladan Sane - he's dynamic, chromatic, fluid, and a bit mad.
it is way sadder than i thought it would be but it's a fantastic album, super beautiful
masterpiece
wouldn't it be nice is a classic. one of those songs that never fails to lift your spirits. that's not me is so nice i never really listened to it. this album is so joyful. my heart is floating.
it was such a bop. perfect new wave album with female leads. underrated honestly. last part dragged a bit as they all began to mesh together, but overall quality album.
not my vibe
wait i was pleasantly surprised by this, a true feel-good album.
really solid
amazing. i love this album
like it's all just instrumental but it's cool. not my cup of tea but i liked "the sound of someone you love who's going away but it doesn't matter"
started strong ended weak
one of their best
i don't want to give it a full four because there were some songs where i was like ok hmmm this is too weird for me but some of them were just weird enough where i was really enjoying it. the first half of the album was super fun and unique to listen to, they have their own sound and have fun experimenting with it. if i could give 3.5 i would, if the latter half of the album didn't go off the rails it would be 4
my dad thinks that people who like jefferson airplane are rich kids who dodged the war because they were rich and think they're deeper than they actually are which honestly makes sense but this album was decent
this is peak cuban music i really felt like i was just chilling in havana and i've never even been
uk punk but all the songs sounded similar, i tried to get into it but it seemed like an album of outtakes
her voice is a powerhouse. she joined blues and rock so well, and there are a few classics on this one.
meh it was pretty repetitive and the first song didn't have to be 11 minutes long
i know i'm biased but i just really don't like him as a person so i cannot justify giving him anything above a 2
started strong ended weak, could not stick to a single theme
it was such good british 80s pop. all around such a fun listen
not my type of music but for the genre it's good
oscillating bw a 4 and a 5. this album is no skip primarily in the beginning but overall each song needs to be studied and jammed to on their own. the songwriting is incredible and studying each song more would definitely feel more confident giving this album a 5. polly for example is such a smart and effective way to write about women’s experience with sexual abuse and shedding light on it through music; it's terrifying, and singing as the abuser produces such an eerie and uncomfortable effect and makes you hate the abuser and feel immense sympathy for "Polly". knowing how much kurt cobain championed women and women's autonomy provides more context, but this song as a whole is so well done. ending with something in the way closes out the album so well since it starts so "angry" and active, but ends calmer while still maintaining that angst and grunge.
honestly really good to do work to. each song is so different from each other/has a different vibe but is really consistent in its energy so you can still focus but vibe with the change of pace
2 songs 38 minutes? king behavior
i love them but a lot of the songs sounded like they didn't have energy in them
tom morello was SHREDDDINGGG i liked this album way more than i thought i would, it's perfect whenever you need a good energy boost and get your angst out.
it felt like a wannabe joni mitchell
there wasn't much rhythm to it
i really do not like them
i resonated with her idgaf attitude, some songs were bland
god. a fucking boss
real good
such a solid beatles album, has a genre of it's own compared to the other ones
not my cup of tea too weird for me
for a purely instrumental album it was really cool
masterpiece
soooo good, sade is so sultry
one of the best albums by the cure
i love this album so much and i'm not even a dude who went through breakup
THIS IS SO GOOD
this is such a nice jazz it's def gonna be a go-to in the future
not my favorite pavement album but they still keep their sound rly well
i didn't think i would like it this much truthfully
i see how this could be great for country fans, but for me it was alright. but i still think lucina williams is great
i'm sorry no
not my cup of tea but giving it a 3 because the female rocker is dope and maps is such a good song
this album deserves the hype, the songs match the theme/energy of the album so well
like it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. like British 21 pilots
why was the first song 8 minutes long and the rest 2 minutes. for what
underrated honestly
i was not expecting this to be so funky and energetic, so i was pleasantly surprised, but they didn't seem to diversify the funk
she's had better albums but her lyricism is always immaculate
good for a classic rock album, i like mix of long songs and shorter songs. they all started to mesh together though in theme, it seemed like they were trying to hard to be macho rock n rollers.
such a classic album, has one of my all time fav songs
soooo smooooth
it was rly good but then i saw it was 40 songs and then i was like man was that necessary
luv rod my man
this was such a cool mix of 80s hip hop and electronic music gr8 job
some of the songs didnt need to be that long but the guitar solos were good
so good
i really loved it, he has a great voice
love patti smith but i dont think it's her best
only five songs and the first and last two are long but the guitar solos are sooooo fucking goooooodddd
she's a legend
space and funk, super dope
meh
i love the concept of this album, and it has one of my fav songs
it is way sadder than i thought it would be but it's a fantastic album, super beautiful
i don't care if i sound shallow but this is one of the best albums of all time sure his lyrics are dense and it's kinda pompous but u just gotta roll wit it
literally forgot how good it was
olroit
so good! but like 2-3 solid songs
a ton of songs that are only 2ish minutes long which i really like because rly complements the fast-paced, energetic punk rock genre so you just get spurts of different songs to rock out to, but they all kinda mesh together
ughhh i rly like iggy pop but this album just isn't great
thoroughly enjoyed
such a great album, especially for coming out
unexpected gem
really nice jazz and storytelling, kinda like a live album so it's best to listen to in order
i love wilco so much so im biased - summerteeth is def my favorite by them even though this is more popular. jesus etc is a classic
this is the second day in a row i got wilco and i am riding this high. i really only liked the songs with jeff tweedy singing but this album was a great combo of the two - neither lost their voice but actually complemented each other.
legend
her voice is angelic
tbh it sounded like nazi propaganda. there's literally a song called how the west was won
she is immaculate angel sent from heaven above
really cool integration of classic rock with hop on a lot of the tracks, a ton of energy and personality coming from them to make it really fun to listen to lyrically and musically, some of it sounds the same from track to track but overall unique and clearly definitive of hip hop's golden age
the epitome of glam rock. it made me desperately want to watch him perform this live. the keys! the sax! his vocals! he's just oozing charisma that's funky, ostentatious, and wild, making you feel like if you had a night out on the town with him it would be the craziest and most fun night. some may say it's unfocused, but I think the disparate stories under this funky glam rock persona cater to Aladan Sane - he's dynamic, chromatic, fluid, and a bit mad.
he has a beautiful and calm voice and is a classic folk revivalist so his lyrics are very compelling, but overall it wasn't anything special
Piercingly beautiful voice that will keep you hooked the entire album, dynamic record, love the mix of African and western folk. super strong 4
a classic that doesn't age
Stuck because it was solid classic garage rock and there were a few great songs individually but the album didn't have a distinct vision or sound. prob 3.5 if I could
really smooth listen, top tier bossa nova
p good
is this ska
enjoyed it more than i thought i would - post punk, post industrial album with a few songs that really hit the mark. altogether, could have had shortened some of the interludes and the angsty vocals
i never could get into leonard cohen (although appreciate his lyricism) but this was a really cool one. the hyper 80s production didn't really age well but the album felt complete and full, not over or underdone. really felt like you could feel his character in his voice too
