Popular Reviews

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan

I get why Dylan is so well regarded. Like a Rolling Stone is Great. I’m not huge into his other tracks on this one.

Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear

Shocked that I haven't heard of this album, it is so good. Love the rhythms and the first two tracks are superb.

Exit Planet Dust by The Chemical Brothers

Really enjoyed some of these tracks. As with most electronic music, I can only listen to a few tracks before needing a break!

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Jan 18 2021

Bass sounds good, compressed and lots of delay on the guitar. Totally 80s haha!

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Jan 19 2021

Bittersweet symphony is so good. I like the alternative vibe but it is like a watered down Radiohead, still enjoyable and I could listen to this a few times.

Debut by Björk
Jan 20 2021

Vocals are distinct with sometimes jarring rhythms. Can tell the dance vibe and given the period, the percussion could use a reboot but has a dance hall sound to some of the tracks. I could listen to a few tracks more for sure. I can see why there is large following.

Rio by Duran Duran
Jan 21 2021

A ton of respect for this album, the rock and blues sound was impressive and the moving bass line sounded great.

Disintegration by The Cure
Jan 25 2021

This is so good, the synth and guitar make this super moody.

B-52's by The B-52's
Jan 26 2021

Side one or the first half are classics that have lived on. Side two I haven't heard before and their style wears a bit thin on it. Hard to put a label on this but post-punk/new wave dance for the era could work.

Goo by Sonic Youth
Jan 27 2021

Great sound and this is what rock should feel like. Took off a star cause I don’t love the singing.

Shaka Zulu by Ladysmith Black Mambazo
Jan 29 2021

Way better than I anticipated. Puts you in a meditative frame of mind. Great reverb in the recording. Great intro into worldwide music.

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Feb 02 2021

The blues are alive and kickin in this rock album. This doesn't resonate a whole lot with me, might be an era thing.

Tapestry by Carole King
Feb 04 2021

Classic album with some popular songs. Great piano work and bass line was excellent throughout.

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Feb 05 2021

Love it, Carry On packs a punch to kick this album off. Great harmonies. Great musicians.

It's A Shame About Ray by The Lemonheads
Feb 08 2021

Was kind of bland compared to its contemporaries. Maybe I need another listen but...

Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth
Feb 09 2021

Preferred Goo over this album. They experimented a lot with discord in this one.

Bad by Michael Jackson
Feb 11 2021

The popular tracks on this album are flawless. Bad, Smooth Criminal, etc. However, the rest of the album just isn't worth listening to IMO.

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Feb 15 2021

I get why Dylan is so well regarded. Like a Rolling Stone is Great. I’m not huge into his other tracks on this one.

Wild Wood by Paul Weller
Feb 16 2021

Really liked the groove on this bluesy, rock album. Out in 1994 (English singer-songwriter) and has that jam band feel but not in an obnoxious way.

Revolver by Beatles
Feb 17 2021

They play so well together, haha! Beetles have some amazing music. Good listen.

Superfuzz Bigmuff by Mudhoney
Feb 18 2021

Pivotal in the early grunge movement. Wanted to like it but didn't hit home with me.

No Other by Gene Clark
Feb 22 2021

first couple of tracks seemed like it was from an earlier period instead of the 70's. chill music.

Red Dirt Girl by Emmylou Harris
Feb 23 2021

Found it kind of vanilla

Exit Planet Dust by The Chemical Brothers
Feb 25 2021

Really enjoyed some of these tracks. As with most electronic music, I can only listen to a few tracks before needing a break!

Tigermilk by Belle & Sebastian
Feb 26 2021

Bland to my ear.

White Ladder by David Gray
Mar 02 2021

Enjoyed this a lot. Great emotion in his vocals and the acoustic adds great warmth to his sound. Piano was well selected on a few points. Wave Hello, Say Goodbye was such a good departing track.

Master Of Puppets by Metallica
Mar 05 2021

I feel like this is where it all started for Metallica’s rise. Such a good album full of thrash.

16 Lovers Lane by The Go-Betweens
Mar 10 2021

80's alternative. Not bad, the drum machines must have sounded really cool at the time.

Ray Of Light by Madonna
Mar 11 2021

Didn't love it, pretty boring and couldn't get through most of the album.

Pictures At An Exhibition by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Mar 17 2021

Cool sounds, wasn't expecting some of them from the early 1970s. Organ playing was fierce, good jam band instrumental listen.

Mar 23 2021

Some good tracks, but if I'm honest I was expecting this album to be sonically amazing. Expectations may have been too high.

Songs In The Key Of Life by Stevie Wonder
Mar 26 2021

Really good funk, great musicianship. This is why Stevie's so frequently returned to.

Pump by Aerosmith
Mar 29 2021
The Modern Lovers by The Modern Lovers
Apr 05 2021

Not sure what's so special about this one.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Apr 09 2021

Classics are great, but the other tracks don't do it for me.

1999 by Prince
Apr 19 2021

The Coral by The Coral

Very quirky, they sounded like it was fun to produce/record.

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Apr 22 2021

Great album, love their distinct style.

Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear
Apr 23 2021

Shocked that I haven't heard of this album, it is so good. Love the rhythms and the first two tracks are superb.

Moving Pictures by Rush
May 05 2021

The drums hit hard, love the musicality. Voice doesn't do it for me but they are still so good despite.

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
May 18 2021

Started off good, then sadly it got weird in a bit great way.

Moss Side Story by Barry Adamson
