Slipknot
SlipknotGenuinely tough to listen to. Can’t imagine enjoying this. A few not-terrible choruses, but otherwise will always be the official music of middle school children of divorce.

Another fantastic Beatles album. Has something for everyone.
Typical Flaming Lips album. Good, borderline great.
Nothing special, background music. All sound fairly similar.
Slow at times, but good for the right setting. First artist that was new to me.
Good at times, boring at times
Great if you like jazz, not my style. Enjoyable nonetheless.
Horrendous
Awesome. Similar to Sugar Hill Gang, but better to me. Really enjoyed this one.
Would have been great with lyrics. Found the drum and bass only kind of boring, but good for what it was.
Album was awesome. Wish it was on Apple Music. End of the album even better than the top. Meant to be played loud. Really liked Plastic Bag and Dayglo. Good transition time between rock and punk, can see both in this album.
Eh. Nothing special.
Golden Years was good. Otherwise boring. But decent in the right mood. Just no hits or memorable parts.
Should be a 3.5, but not quite a 4.
Not a Beyoncé person, but could see why people like it.
Boring. Music is fine, but slow at times. Could use some vocals.
Average even in comparison to similar albums.
Amazing. Top to bottom.
Eh. Not my thing.
Another fantastic Beatles album. Has something for everyone.
Like a bad Foo Fighters. Nothing special.
Less exciting version of the Cranberries. Not bad, but probably wouldn’t go out of my way to listen again.
Good album. Hadn’t heard most of these songs before.
Surprisingly good. Will definitely listen again.
Better than I thought, but okay.
Haven’t heard before. Just okay.
Really good. The lyrics knock this down from a 5 star. Can get mumbly and hard to understand. Guitar and drums are amazing.
Never seen movie, so that might not help, but pretty boring instrumental soundtrack. Good for film maybe, but boring for listening to on its own.
Old people country western music. Not the worst, just not my preference.
Metal album. Pretty straight forward.
Eh. Music is decent. Vocals are boring.
Should be a 3.5, but realistically I won’t go out of my way to listen to it again. It was better than expected though.
Amazing album. Top to bottom.
Actually really good. Reminded me of Awaken My Love from Childish Gambino. Can tell he pulled from this genre and maybe even this album a lot. First instrumental guitar riff song was cool, but even better once you got to the rest of the album.
Not as bad as the other reviews think, just casual east listening. Kind of reminded me of Cake. Not something I’d search out, but better than other albums I’ve given a 3 to.
Snore
Not for me. Didn’t seem too great even ignoring that.
Good relaxing music
4.5/5 is more appropriate, very good and will relisten.
Boring. A full album of the boring parts of other albums.
Would be a 5 if there was a bit more singing, but really good either way.
Boring
iTunes describes this as “no nonsense 70s hard rock” but I have a hard time believing this was ever HARD rock. Perhaps just a victim of following Metallica in my list, but easy boring songs.
Just a lesser Beatles or Beach Boys album. Good background music, but nothing stands out.
Normally enjoy Radiohead, just not so much for this album.
From reading the other reviews, seems like there are deeper meanings to each song, but musically I just don’t enjoy it, so I can’t get into it.
Would make for an awesome old school rap album if it had lyrics, but just eh without.
Not their best, but still good.
Eh
Very minimal exposure to Sonic Youth beforehand. Probably better after a few listens.
A bit distracting for background work music, but pretty good. Good coffee shop music.
Genuinely tough to listen to. Can’t imagine enjoying this. A few not-terrible choruses, but otherwise will always be the official music of middle school children of divorce.
Kind of a James Taylor vibe, but not as good.
Definitely of it’s time, but I enjoyed it. Could see how it’s not for everyone. A little slow, but great if you are into the synth/futuristic sound. Don’t know why, but I really like the cover art. Perfect fit the album. Like he’s discovering something new.
A Beck album. Enjoyable, but nothing earth shattering
Enjoyed it more than I expected, but tough with it not being English.
Eh
Eh
Interesting sound. Sounds like Lana Del Rey mixed with David Bowie, but not as good as that might sound. Most songs sound like they could be the opening credits to an HBO show or Bond movie.
Wanted to like it, but was just background music.
Feels very dated. Some 80s sounds, but slower. Nothing interesting.
3.5/5. Not nostalgic for me, but could see how people would give this a 5.
3.5/5. Not my genre, but was enjoyable anyways.
Costello just doesn’t do it for me. 2 is probably harsh, but it’s just not clicking. He sounds like someone I would like, but I just never get there.
A little less harmonica would have done it for me, but really good relaxing/driving/campfire album.
Pretty good
3.5/5 Good, but not something I would search out.
Wanted to like it, just slow. Good background music.
Not my favorite album by them, but lots of good songs on here.
Biggest hold against it is the overplaying of the big songs on this album, but I suppose that’s not on him. Good album.
Decent album, but lower end for the Beatles. Before they were interesting.
Slow
Generic
I get why people would like it, just not my thing.
Not something I would’ve picked, but really enjoyed it.
Dated, but good
3.5/5. Pretty good for a newer country album.
Slower than I would like, but I guess that’s what you listen for.
Was probably wild in 91 when this came out
Really good, but perhaps mostly nostalgia.
3.5/5 sounds like Oasis did a summer abroad in the Outback, but a little more buttoned up.
3.5/5 fun but strange if you are paying attention more.
Full of great songs
Incoherent noise
Eh. Just generic R.E.M.
Lyrics and production are do miserable. I must be missing a huge amount of contact for how many 5 trains this got. Lyrics don’t even go along with the beats in most songs. Feels completely disconnected. Sounds like someone making an ironic British rap song. Ali G vibes without the irony.
3.5/5 Better than I expected.
Surprised by this one. Actually really enjoyed this album. Had never listened to The Smiths previously.
2.5/5
Actually really enjoyed this
Unique, and they really go for it, not sure what I think.
3.5/5 Better than I expected.
Boring
In context, this was probably better than stand alone. Everything is really dated, but some decent story telling, but often corny.
Not their greatest, but still good.
Can see why people like it. Just wasn’t anything special after first listen. Never have listened to Grateful Dead though. Sounds like many of the bands of that time.
Good background music. If I wasn’t familiar with them before I would probably just be bored though.
3.5/5 not a huge funk fan, but was a fun listen
Beatles/Beach Boys sound, but a bit darker. Good listen, but not something I would go out of my way to listen to.
Like a sadder, more generic Mellencamp/Springsteen/something else. Not bad, just a little emo and eh.
Might suffer a bit for some because these songs were so overplayed at the time. But really good, song after song.
