1001 Albums Summary

Não sou muito fã de músicas dos anos 70... mas gostando muito de ouvir esse álbum! Algumas músicas lembro de já ter passado em alguma esquina da vida, outras foram surpresa (ótima, por sinal). Ouvi Van Morisson em alguma fase da vida, parei, e agora fiquei com vontade que ele permaneça no meu gosto musical.

Estava tentando escrever relatório, e nem as músicas costumeiras, aquela do dia-a-dia, arroz com feijão, estavam inspirando. De novo, saí da minha zona, escutei músicas que não escutaria normalmente (a não ser que eu fosse obrigada, aí vale para a fila do mercado ou sala de espera do dentista) e, incrivelmente, o trabalho fluiu. As músicas são carregadas de energia, um baita ritmo e uma batida de fazer até o sangue correr mais rápido... nota 5!

The music is good, but the sound is not really my thing. I will listen again, and focus on the quality... but it's really not to my taste!

Coldplay is one of those bands that I always wonder where it went wrong. This is their latest good work, but it can't compare to the excellent Parachutes...

I first met Aimee Mann watching sitcoms, back in the (now) distant 90s. What a trip back in time listening to this CD, and the certainty that good music never ages.

I knew the band by name, but had never stopped to listen to anything of theirs... very good, I liked it a lot, and now I will listen to more!

Madonna always surprises with her creativity: all her albums are different from each other, both in lyrics and melodies. This all ensures that she remains active and extremely interesting over time. This album is no exception, all songs are great and take you on a mystical journey of that time (she changes too, just like Madonna). I still prefer the Madonna of the 80s, but it is undeniable how great this album is.

One of the best albums ever made, those who were teenagers in the 90s remember turning on the TV and watching the Smashing Pumpkins videos and singing all the songs on this CD. It was always a dream of mine, but I could only realize it as an adult... to this day I remember admiring the booklet, reading the lyrics, and listening to the songs!

What a wonderful surprise! I loved all the songs, I'm already saving the album to listen to later, more calmly.

Thanks to MTV, I suffered throughout my teenage years from overexposure to the B-52's and to this day I can't listen. The songs are good, but it's trauma.

I liked it, but it was too hectic, I think the songs were not in the same tune as what I was doing at the moment. I will listen to it again, another time.

Her voice is beautiful and she is extremely talented, but it was a time with so much exposure about Adele that I can't listen to the songs anymore. The songs are not my style, but I don't see that as a problem, we can always learn something new, but I can't listen to them anymore...

I love the 80's too much, even these less known bands (at least here, in Brazil) always surprise me positively. I really liked the songs, I will look for other works.

Two great albums in two days in a row? What are the chances? But it finally happened... after a phenomenal album yesterday, here comes this pearl to listen to. Here in Brazil Elvis Costello, unfortunately, is a relatively unknown talent (as far as I know), and listening to this album was a surprise and a great discovery.

This album is that famous "let's dance our troubles away" album. Great, until today!

Esse álbum é bom demais, um dos favoritos da vida!

Foi uma surpresa, porque realmente essa onda nu metal nunca me pegou. Reconheci algumas músicas, culpa ainda da MTV, outras só escutei mesmo. Não daria uma chance, mas o material foi realmente inovador para a época.

I always have the unfortunate tendency to think that good music is perhaps in the past. Besides being extremely unfair to the great musicians we have active today, it is also unfair to all the musicians who are still active, even though they have a wonderful musical past, as is the case of Rod Stewart. I had never heard this album before, and I was really surprised, what a quality, what a delight to listen to these songs. It saved my afternoon, and made my day much more cheerful!

Sonic Youth is one of those "do you like it?" "of course I do" bands, but little do you really know! What a mistake! This album is magnificent, good music from the beginning to the end.

O Morrissey é daqueles que torna difícil separar a obra do artista: as músicas sempre lembram um tempo que não volta, e então lembro das bobajadas que ele fala...

Perfeito! Eu só conhecia outros álbuns do Beach Boys, e confesso que não teria conhecido esse até ser indicado aqui! Aliás, estou escrevendo essa pequena resenha um dia após a morte do Brian Wilson. Eles são aquelas bandas muito grandes, mas que precisavam ser mais divulgados, ouvidos...

Um clássico, perfeito...

Aqui é possível entender a definição de clássico: como um álbum desses ainda tem tanto a falar...perfeito!

Conheci o Michael Kiwanuka na edição desse ano do Lollapalloza, e acho que foi a última boa descoberta dali em muitos anos! Mesmo tendo acompanhado o show dele no evento, essa foi a primeira oportunidade que parei para realmente ouvir a música dele: que presente maravilhoso para a humanidade, que talento! 5 estrelas é pouco!

Não me classificaria mesmo como fã ou até ouvinte de Red Hot Chilli Peppers, mas lembro dessas músicas tocando, estar de férias, e até ter tempo de realmente ouvir música.

Gostei, mas não amei!

Mais uma surpresa desse desafio! Conheço muito pouco (muito pouco mesmo) do Genesis, e esse album foi uma surpresa agradável... Vou ouvir mais

Eu gosto desse albúm, nada contra, mas sou da geração MTV: escutei tanto determinados artistas que hoje não suporto mais nem ouvir o nome... O Rolling Stones é esse caso! :-(
