I’m sure the musicianship is outstanding, and beyond anything I can comprehend, but honestly Jazz is just not for me

Decent, not my cup of tea

I feel like I should give it 4 stars - I can hear how “important” this album is. It’s like a bridge between 80s music and 90s music. But in reality, I probably wouldn’t ever just say “you know, I’m in the mood to listen to “Daydream Nation” right now. Maybe, but not really. I’d probably give it 3.5 if I could. If 5 = perfect, 4 = really really great, 3 = solid, I’ll go with 3. 5 star rating systems suck

This is where my bias will show. I enjoy guitar based music as my favorite kind of music. To me, this album is excellent, but I would totally understand it not being someone else’s preference. I think the key here as I go through this list to understand that I’m rating them for myself, not what other people should think. I give this five stars, that’s five stars as far as what I like; might not be five stars for you and that’s OK.

I actually enjoyed this album quite a bit. I liked the variety difference in the tracks, before I listened to it, I thought that they would all maybe sound kind of the same.

This album is a good example of how personal taste will affect ratings drastically. Undoubtedly a five star album, but I can see how it could be too aggressive, crude, and crass for many people.

Groundbreaking but not the most relaxing or just pure enjoyment album to listen to. More for when you’re in an RC fart mood.
