Youth And Young Manhood by Kings of Leon

Maybe I‘m boring, maybe I‘m nostalgic but this one is awesome! Never heard it before but it got the typical 2000s rock sound and is completely different to the KOL that became mainstream.

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Jun 18 2024

New to me. Great album with some nice guitar tunes and an amazing female singer. Saved 3 songs as favorite.

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
Jun 19 2024

Great idea in general (doing a prison tour) and very entertaining concert in general with all the talking Johnny Cash does here.

S&M by Metallica
Jun 20 2024

I‘ve never digged Metallica that much but I am aware of their top 5 songs and like them. This LP though wasn‘t what I expected. It‘s like a 2 hour and 13 minute long soundtrack paired with some vocals in between. I liked it but propably won‘t listen to it again anytime soon.

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
Jun 21 2024

Very relaxing and creative guitar plays. Liked it very much

Jun 25 2024

I‘m from germany so I am NOT familiar with their music, besides sweet home alabama. I’ve never even heard about free bird before (not that I‘d know about at least), but anyways - I liked this album and some of their songs. I did not read their Wiki before so I could listen to this without prejustices. My favorites are indeed free bird, mr. Banker and down south jukin‘

Arc Of A Diver by Steve Winwood
Jun 27 2024

I see what‘s special here (thanks Wikipedia!) - he played all Instruments by himself and composed the songs which is always an interesting thing. The sound of this record is sometimes a bit boring to me (like the first track and actual hit of this lp) and some other times pretty cool! Reminds me of music by Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel etc. My favorite on this is Night Train

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Jun 28 2024

This really is a great album with hit songs and still a modern sound imo.

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Jun 29 2024

I love the beatles and their discography so this was easy to listen to. I think it‘s a great one and their first step to a few more experimental sounds, 2 years before the release of Sgt. Pepper, and a more adult sound.

Mask by Bauhaus
Jun 30 2024

I‘m not very much into goth music or the culture but it‘s interesting for sure to listen to one of the first albums of that genre. It‘s a diverse mixture of music and surprised me a lot after listening to the first 2-3 tracks. Overall I really liked it!

OK by Talvin Singh
Jul 01 2024
A Short Album About Love by The Divine Comedy
Jul 03 2024

Very good production and music and mostly clever lyrics imo. It‘s only 30 minutes long, so I will definitely will give it another listen or two.

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
Jul 06 2024

Great Album, great songs and you can definitely still hear her influence in modern songs nowadays. No matter if it‘s pop-rock or pop in general.

Tommy by The Who
Jul 07 2024

You really need to pay attention while listening to this album and you will be gifted with a short and sweet story of Tommy. Well it‘s one of the most sold albums of all time, but still I‘ve never listened to it before. I loved this one and will surely listen some more times to it.

Brothers by The Black Keys
Jul 08 2024
25 by Adele
Jul 09 2024

I remember that I was late listening to her 2nd LP as I thought it‘s just some generic pop music with a great voice but I quickly changed my opinion after I listened to the whole album. Anyway - I wasn‘t late for this one and l did listen to it right after it‘s release and now again of course. Everyone that loves great voices should listen to this album imo!

Dusty In Memphis by Dusty Springfield
Jul 14 2024

Very relaxed and short album. Love her voice and this style of music!

Medúlla by Björk
Jul 15 2024

Very experimental, but also very unique and outstanding, like her other work. I don’t hate it or love it but I like it very much. I really must be in the mood to listen to this whole album again, but this actually is the matter for me with every Björk album.

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Jul 16 2024

I liked some songs and others were boring to me.

1999 by Prince
Jul 17 2024

Funky and modern tunes (back then and still today) but every song is a bit too long and repetitive for me.

Guero by Beck
Jul 18 2024

This really was the first Beck Album I‘ve listened to and I loved how this was a whole mixture of genres. Classic Rock, Grunge, Rap, Electronic and so on. I‘ll definitely will listen to this some more times!

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Jul 19 2024

Nowadays this sounds like the soundtrack to some indie game. Back then it probably sounded like something else. I love how this music creates a mysterious vibe and can get you „out of space“. I‘m usually not too much into electronica but this one caught me.

Jul 25 2024

I remember listening to mostly the two hits of that album „Fit but You Know It“ and „Dry Your Eyes“ as a teenager and was excited to listen to the whole album again, but to be honest: Almost every other song didn‘t excite me very much. It‘s mostly a british dude talking over some badly aged beats. Maybe you need to be british to feel it.

Black Monk Time by The Monks
Jul 26 2024

Wow this is from 1966! Sounds clearly ahead of it‘s time with punk and blues rock elements. I didn‘t know music like this existed back in the 60s and I guess besides a few exceptions it did not exist in the mainstream music.

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Jul 27 2024

This album and especially the hits were partially the soundtrack of some of my teenage years. I honestly like the whole album more than I did 18 years ago.

At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash
Jul 28 2024

I love his music, this idea and his comments in between.

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
Jul 29 2024

I know there are and there have been many fans of Michael Jackson‘s music, but after listening to this album I once again know I‘m not.

Feast of Wire by Calexico
Jul 30 2024

This sounds like a radio station with a mix of melancholic indie pop-rock, latin sounds and a breath of jazz.

Take Me Apart by Kelela
Jul 31 2024

The album is all about relationships and how to handle them, without being too whiny about it in her lyrics. Amazing sound and also intelligent lyrics are being used by her. It also sounds like a great influence to future albums by different artists like Chloe x Hall.

Kenya by Machito
Aug 02 2024

I love this one! It starts relaxing, gets more stressful in between, and cools down till the end again.

Imagine by John Lennon
Aug 03 2024
Cafe Bleu by The Style Council
Aug 04 2024

It started out pretty interesting with an instrumental followed by smooth tracks with vocals, but then it turned out to be little too mixed up with a random rap song. It just didn‘t fit in imo.

Dry by PJ Harvey
Aug 05 2024
Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Aug 07 2024

5 stars for the first song alone and maybe one of the best and longest guitar solo, especially with the background story of this song. The rest of the album is okay.

Punishing Kiss by Ute Lemper
Aug 08 2024

This once again shows, that I just don‘t like musicals.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Aug 13 2024

This was expected to be on the list and it was great to listen through this album again! They‘ve created a unique sound, while not being famous yes, let alone the amazing bass lines, that I need to give this one 5 stars. PS: I just got this one after the Paris Olympics 2024 ending show, with a short performance by the RHCP, because the Olympics 2028 will be in Los Angeles. When I‘m done with this project it will only be 1 year left - nice!

Frampton Comes Alive by Peter Frampton
Aug 14 2024

Didn‘t know his name, but some of his music. I love the hits on this one, the instrumental only parts and the live atmosphere captured in here.

Be by Common
Aug 17 2024

.

Is This It by The Strokes
Aug 20 2024

Amazing album! Not only does it remind me of my teenage years, it‘s also still great music today imo.

Winter In America by Gil Scott-Heron
Aug 23 2024

Very relaxed music and great singing with political messages, but still nothing I‘d listen to often.

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
Aug 25 2024

This one is close to a 5 for me but it‘s just a bit too long for me and too many skits which was usual though during that time.

The Clash by The Clash
Aug 26 2024

Amazing record that still sounds fresh today! It sounds like the base for so many records that followed this one.

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Aug 27 2024

Since GTA San Andreas I knew I don’t hate country (thanks to K ROSE), but I‘m also not american and maybe that helps. This album was a great listen for me and I really like it. She has a great voice for this style of music and she’s still active today. Would listen again if I am in the mood for country.

Nevermind by Nirvana
Aug 28 2024

Easy 5 star rating for me. While this album accompanied me in my youth (even though my youth started 12 years after this album‘s release) and brings many memories with it, I still like the sound now that I‘m in my thirties. It has mellow and harder songs while Kurt brings his vocals on line in a depressing matter. Besides that, it has one of the most famous cover images of all time.

Beach Samba by Astrud Gilberto
Aug 29 2024

I‘ve listened to to this at the beach- can recommend.

Aug 30 2024

I really can‘t give away too many 5s but this deserves one for me. It‘s jazzy, punky but also avantgardy at the same time. What a great piece of work!

Blue Lines by Massive Attack
Aug 31 2024

I liked the first song but that‘s about it. The rest can stay in the 90s.

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Sep 01 2024

I liked some songs of this as a teenager but this whole thing didn‘t age well imo.

Stankonia by OutKast
Sep 04 2024

Love this album! This really is/was the peak of hip hop. Of course there is Ms Jackson on this record but also many other great songs that might not be well known.

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Sep 05 2024

I‘ve listened to this on my way to work while it was raining and while it was putting me in a sad mood in the beginning it lifted me up in the middle again. So rain was the perfect weather for this one and I went from disliking it to like it more and more. In the end it’s still Radiohead.

Songs From A Room by Leonard Cohen
Sep 06 2024

I didn’t think this would develop into a 5 star album for me but it did! This is my first Cohen album on the list and can‘t wait to hear the other ones.

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Sep 07 2024
Sep 08 2024

After the first two songs I thought “Okay I most likely won’t like this one because it’s folk”, but it turned out to be pretty interesting overall with elements of punk, ska and other sounds.

Songs For Swingin' Lovers! by Frank Sinatra
Oct 17 2024

I can’t hate in Sinatra. Of course it’s old music and a genre in general that’s not really happening anymore in today’s mainstream music but that’s maybe also because Sinatra did his best (along some other artists) to play through this genre. This album is perfect for the fall and winter time to listen to it in a cozy place.

Close To You by Carpenters
Oct 18 2024

This is 70s pop feel good music! It doesn’t annoy me but it also doesn’t excite me too much. Close to you is a great and sweet song that has also been used in the newest Joker movie (not a movie recommendation)

Oct 19 2024

I haven’t listen to this in a while but it’s still a great album if you like this kind of music. Stan is still one of the best and famous storytelling songs in rap imo. Eminem turned 52 just one day after I received this entry - nice coincidence!

Back to Basics by Christina Aguilera
Oct 20 2024

I don’t hate pop music and there are many great pop albums out there imo. This one is not though. It has great songs on it, she’s a great and unique singer but the whole thing just doesn’t fit together very well or I‘m not getting it. Still a 3 for me because of the good songs.

Oct 21 2024

Well this really aged poorly (at least the lyrics did), as he hates women completely. At first I thought it‘s meant ironic but either I didn’t get it or it was meant pretty serious.

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Oct 22 2024

This record is just amazing. Love the whole atmosphere, sounds and guitar riffs / solos. Would listen to this again and again.

Legalize It by Peter Tosh
Oct 23 2024

This is more than „just a reggae album“ imo. While it starts with the title track which is a typical and also pretty famous reggae track, it offers more than that with the other songs and creates a great atmosphere. I also like the chilled guitar parts.

En-Tact by The Shamen
Oct 25 2024

If someone would ask me how the typical 90s music sounds like, I’d show them this.

G. Love And Special Sauce by G. Love & Special Sauce
Oct 27 2024

Never heard of this before but I actually like it! Sounds like a mixture of RHCP & White Stripes.

Youth And Young Manhood by Kings of Leon
Oct 28 2024

Maybe I‘m boring, maybe I‘m nostalgic but this one is awesome! Never heard it before but it got the typical 2000s rock sound and is completely different to the KOL that became mainstream.

Garbage by Garbage
Oct 29 2024

Never heard this before but I like it very much!

Brown Sugar by D'Angelo
Oct 30 2024

Indeed a great R&B album that I did not know as I‘m not deep into the genre besides some exceptions.

Kid A by Radiohead
Oct 31 2024
Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Nov 02 2024

This was more entertaining than I’d thought! Great songs and tunes on this one. Some songs sound like straight from the 50s with punky lyrics and some other do have that 90s feeling (even though this album is older)

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Nov 06 2024

Knew this one and love this one! This really has been an iconic duo and had great influence on a whole genre imo.

Nov 08 2024

She was one of the women that created a foundation for female rap in some way with this album. Even though I think 2-3 songs are really great but the rest is sometimes a bit boring. Still a good album to listen to.

Dookie by Green Day
Nov 09 2024

Another album my teenage self loved, just before their American Idiot era. It’s still great but for me especially the most famous songs on it.

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Nov 10 2024

Of course I knew the first track already and I‘ve listened to this (and the album) many times. In the right mood this music can add the right atmosphere to an relaxing evening!

Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear
Nov 11 2024

This started promising but it turned out to become a bit boring. One song is famous because it has been used in an advertisement (at least in germany).

Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Dec 04 2024

Unfortunately a bit boring to me. Maybe another album of him hits better for me.

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Dec 05 2024

Great lyrics and singing but (besides 1-2 songs) it sadly was too boring for me.

Kenza by Khaled
Dec 06 2024

Yes this was something I would normally not listen to, but many others do, even without a book that suggests it to them. While listening to the first song I expected the whole album to be like that, but it became more poppy, which is not always a good time thing in his case.

Tapestry by Carole King
Dec 07 2024

Amazing album that sounds like it could have been released this year, last year or is still to be released next year!

Dance Mania by Tito Puente
Dec 08 2024

Great latin sound!

Dirty by Sonic Youth
Dec 09 2024

I actually like this but it’s hard to distinguish between the songs after a while and I even listened to it twice with some time in between though.

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Dec 12 2024

Knew it before but haven’t listen to it for ages. Still very good surprisingly!

Damaged by Black Flag
Dec 13 2024

This is punk / hardcore in it‘s purest form. Shredding guitars over some shouting and talking that sounds like their singer is drunken during the whole recording session. I like this album because it obviously was one of the first bands with a sound like this and that took some more steps into the hardcore genre.

The Fat Of The Land by The Prodigy
Dec 16 2024

Much better than I would have expected before. Nothing I‘d listen often too but still a great album indeed.

Ramones by Ramones
Dec 17 2024

Short but great!

Broken English by Marianne Faithfull
Dec 23 2024

Never heard of her or this album before but I just loved it at my first listen to it. Good atmosphere and interesting voice with broken english here and then.

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Dec 25 2024

I was really excited to listen to this as a whole. It wasn’t as good as their 2nd album but still good enough and it was the perfect album to listen to after a stressful day at work.

Dec 26 2024

Considering the reviews the generator is not completely random or everyone is just randomly getting this on or shortly before christmas. I forgot to review this but still - a great collection of christmas songs on a whole album, but also nothing more. Didn‘t know about the producer before and him being a murderer. Well…merry christmas and a happy new year 2025 (which has started 20 days ago)

New Wave by The Auteurs
Jan 23 2025

Started out strong, but started to become a bit boring after a few songs.

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Jan 28 2025
Closer by Joy Division
Feb 06 2025
Eagles by Eagles
Feb 07 2025

I had a good night, but the eagles still do suck.

Chirping Crickets by Buddy Holly & The Crickets
Feb 08 2025

Great and short album. Especially if you consider how old it is and how many following artists it must have influenced.

Debut by Björk
Feb 10 2025

This is an amazing example of why I love to listen to albums. Good ones take you on a journey and are almost like a movie. This one does it really well. It’s nothing you should listen to in the background. It’s an album that deserves your full attention.

Achtung Baby by U2
Mar 28 2025

I was surprised about the modern sound considering when this album got released. It still didn’t really entertain me and I really had a boring time listening to this.

Electric by The Cult
Mar 31 2025

Great 80s rock/metal album! Maybe I‘m biased because of GTA Vice City but I really enjoyed this!

Hotel California by Eagles
Apr 03 2025

It was actually pretty solid but also forgettable. Hotel California is (too) well known and it’s a classic but no other song really stood out for me

Apr 07 2025

This does nothing for me. Interesting style of music (playing jazz and talking over it) but it’s too hard to follow.

Revolver by Beatles
Apr 08 2025

I love the Beatles and I love this album! It’s not my favorite album by them but it’s still a great one.
