Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet

As a fan of jazz I loved this album! With iconic Time Out already in my collection, I was intrigued by track one which was deeply nostalgic of old peanuts re runs I watched as a kid! It’s only 39 minutes long so a great starter album for those interested in modern ish jazz

American Idiot by Green Day

A wonderful deep dive into American youth culture in the early 2000s. Multiple genres are interlaced with the Greenday sound to spin the story of St Jimmy and the disaffection felt in George W Bush’s America. From surfer sound to Stadium Anthem it’s perfect.

Hotel California by Eagles

Decadent rock and roll with a country music echo, a different take on all things America and the disaffected masses!

Smash by The Offspring

Not my fave, every song sounded the same with little change in lyricism and tempo

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk

Not my fave either, every piece is played beautifully but it didn’t give me the same feelings of nostalgia.

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers

Beautiful 70s disco mixed with gospel music! The depth of emotion and soul is amazing. Some songs are bit samey in places
