Slam dunk 5. One of my favorite albums growing up - loved the rock rap fusion and passion. Revolutionary album in so many ways.

This is a 2.5 that I’m rounding up out of respect for the individual artists.

I was surprised not to have come across this earlier. Better late than never.

One of the albums that started it all for me.

Forged the foundation along with Hendrix for so much heavy Pysch

For me, Green Onions is like the clean, live-band counterpart to Donuts. Dilla chopped our soul into a beautiful, stuttering future, but Booker T. & the M.G.'s played it whole. They took classic blues and rock tunes and didn't just cover them—they injected them with this effortless, cool swagger that makes their versions feel like the originals. It’s that same foundational groove, but polished to a pristine, timeless shine. I put it on and immediately feel cooler.

I love Jazz. Having said that I’m not a huge fan of Coltrane. But this has its moments.

This album is further proof that Tom Waits is endlessly inventive. It’s jagged, skeletal, and fearless—built from clanging percussion, rusted rhythms, and that gravel voice tearing through the noise. Still, for all its brilliance, I’ll admit my bias: I love Waits the crooner. I gravitate to those songs on this record (e.g. Whistle down the Wind). Just not enough of those on this album to push this higher than a 3 for me but I still respect the hell out of it.

Borderline 4 but just too one note for me.

Technically impressive just not my favorite flavor of rock.

I was not that familiar with this artist - great set of well constructed songs with great songwriting and lyrics.
