I listened to this album a LOT when I was in high school. Still love it!!
Not really my cup of tea. Some good grooves created, but it all started lacking variety and sounded all the same to me.
A Classic!!!!!
Phil Spector was a genius producer at a time when most releases were likely single. Compiled all in one album all the songs sound pretty much the same and the “wall of sound” becomes tiresome.
Okay. Maybe some good stuff, but not great.
A CLASSIC!!!!
I was never a fan of Incubus. Never listened to them. This just changed my mind. Great band with a lot of punch!
Some good stuff, but somewhat repetitive from one song to the next.
I loved it! It was as though The Mothers of Invention were impregnated by Lou Reed and the baby was put on steroids.
So where has this been all my life. Oh, right there and I was not paying attention. Great stuff. I have a lot of catching up to do!!
What can you say other than Bravo to one of an artist’s last statements?
Great music! This was part of my 1980’s soundtrack!
Some of her best work, although her Mingus album is my favorite!
Nice Brit-pop, but musically nothing earth shattering or forward thinking.
High energy buzz. The music really kicks. LED me to listen to other Linkin Park albums!!!
Raw, Punchy, Minimalistic. Definitely worth listening to!!
Nice music. Melodic and well crafted electronic backing.
I like this recording a great deal. The cuts on the recording demonstrate to me how The Beastie Boys grew in the near decade since release of License to Ill which I loved when it came out. Check the Tuvan throat singing (or at least what sounds like Tuvan throat singing) on the track Shambala.
Good stuff.
Awesome acid funk. I hear so many roots of music, especially jazz fusion in Funkadelic’s music.
I really dig this recording. Primal Scream goes in several directions musically and you don’t what is coming next. A very enjoyable and uplifting listen I highly recommend!!!
Awesome album. Every song is a gem!!!
I did not care for the music at first, then it began to grow on me. Interesting musical ideas and thought provoking lyrics!!
This really captured my attention. The energy and drive of Punk with more melodic and intelligible lyrics. It lit a fire under me to listen to more Green Day!!!!
Hypnotic, low key with an edge.
I have never been a Mariah Carey fan. That’s okay she certainly has many, many others. She has a wonderful voice, it is just the style of music she makes is not to my tastes.
Deliciously Dark and Demonic. The work of. Black Sabbath is solidly following the tradition of English Gothic Literature. Loved It!!!!!
I liked it a whole lot more than I thought I would. Have been listening to other of their recordings as well now!!
A classic!! Seems like every woman I dated in college had this album—on vinyl, of course!!
I’m sure Kate Bush has many, many fans, however this recording was just not my cup of tea.
A very subtle, low key set of music representing a diversity of musical styles and influences
I recognize this very well is great dance/rave music. While there are moments of interesting combinations of sounds overall I found the music overly repetitive.
Classic Neil Young! Good songs, vocal harmonies and overall comfortable vibe. I remember this recording from my high school and college years!
Some innovative sounds. Good electronica.
Good pop/dance music
One of the albums that puts Getz on the map in the 1960’s
Once you get past the first two cuts, average at best.
Great strip club rock and roll as loose and juicy as the women who dance to it!
A Classic. Johnny Cash in one of his finest moments in music!!!
A classic!
Some good stuff, however became tiresome after the first two or three tunes.
Frank Sinatra is the Chairman of the Board and this album is one of the reasons why.
One of THE albums that put Frank Sinatra on the map!!
Good danceable pop music popular during its capsule of time.
Good stuff. Nice tight playing.
A quaint reminder of the jingly jangly sound of mid 1960’s POP/rock.
A wonderful original and refreshing change of pace!!
Very occasional blips of musical innovation, but for the most part, move along, nothing to see here.
Excitement of a live concert that made all the little girls scream. If what you want is one tune after another that has thumping bass, snare drum backbeats and unintelligible lyrics, this one is for you.
Verrry interesting sounds. Inventive electronica.
Gritty riffs, driving beats and some innovative sounds in the mix. I liked it!!!
Great album. Classic Paul Simon. There is not a bad song on the album!!!
I’m not sure the rest of the album measures up after the title cut.
Nice acoustic folk/country music
I liked this album a lot more than I thought I would. Lots of interesting sounds!!
Good, but not their best album.
I enjoyed the recording, however found nothing that made the music unique from other artists.
Great seminal jazz/rock album!!!
Ho hum
Gritty riffs, vocal harmonies and great hooks make this album one for the books!
Awesome psychedelia, and a master of the electric guitar!!
Some very original sounds. Makes one wonder where this band would have gone had they lasted longer.
Heavy metal before there was heavy metal. Blue Cheer certainly came in loud, edgy and gritty.
Classic Bowie. Some of his best work!
One of Dolly’s incredible contributions to music!!
This record surprised me in a good way. Gritty, hard edged and on the verge of avant garde. The music was about textures and chunks of unique sounds rather than melody or harmony or a good hook.
Awesome gritty riffs, superior drumming, and an all around great album!
Enjoyable, yet not particularly artistically provocative
Greatest R and B album of the 1970’s!!
Good songs, novel sounds within the pop/dance style of the time.
This is the real deal! Innovative and original music aligned with poetry!
I had forgotten how good this record is!! All man Brothers play blues songs just out of this world!!!
I had forgotten how good this album is!!
Classic from one of the Kings of Rock and Roll!!!!
Great voice!! Also, nice juxtaposition of acoustic guitar with electronics.
Wow! Wonderfully innovative sounds!! Artistic!!
One of the classic greats that was foundational to rock and roll!!
Always good stuff
Nice dance beats, otherwise ho-hum.
Not my cup of tea.
I liked this a LOT more than I thought I would. Soundtracks are not always great listening. This one had a crazy wonderfully eclectic mosaic of sounds!
An underrated genius. His sound was unique and musically forward thinking!
A treasure from the past. You MUST listen with headphones, like I did many many moons ago!!!!
Ho hum pop rock.
Zzzzzzzzz! SOS
Pretty good, but a lot the same from one song to the next.
Good revival rock and roll.
Okay, but nothing earth shattering.
Moved the needle with rap!! Very much worth a listen.
What a GREAT breath of fresh air!!!
I liked this recording a lot. Combines elements of Soul and Rap.
Premier art/progressive rock band!!
Outstanding music.
Good stuff!!! Excellent vocals/lyrics backed by strong band!!
Ho hum.
Many interesting sounds. Inventive interactions between electronics and the human voice.
Good stuff
Man, Mingus was ahead of the curve as a creator of music in the Jazz Realm. His interweaving of improvisation in the jazz tradition with avant garde ideas is a combination that shows the future. Even today at 64 years old there is still much to learn from this creative genius’s output.
Thundercat is a bass player on par with Jaco Pastorious and Stanley Clark. That in itself is enough reason to familiarize yourself with his work.
This was GREAT. Gritty buzzsaw riffs supporting a belting female vocalists.
A CLASSIC!!!!!
Good stuff, although nothing Earth shattering from a musical standpoint.
I did not get to listen to the entire album, however because of the date of the recording and its historical importance I would suggest this is a must listen!!!
Okay stuff. Repetitive, but it is dance music.
One of Harrison’s great post Beatles creations.
