1001 Albums Summary

I think I'm interested in listening to some good covers of these songs with real instruments. Please no more harmonica.

Eye Know still legitimately sounds good. About 3 other classics (Magic Number, Buddy, Me Myself and I) that sound fine, but only in context that they're nearly 40 years old. To reach 23 tracks mean lots of awful skits and filler songs

Kind of hated Save the Children.and thought Flying High and Wholly Moly were mediocre. Basically the rest are good to amazing

Nothing cut thru the generic blues guitar/vocals sound except Layla, Anyday and Bell Bottom Blues

Technical advances make it really hard for electronic music from the 90s to age well. Adding in lots of white guy rap with zero flow makes it even harder.

Nothing besides the gong caught my attention, but nothing too cringe either

Really liked Flutes and The Chains. Others neither stood out nor offended

Liked Love Vigilantes a lot and also Elegia and Sunrise were good. 3 of the 8 tracks were god awful

More than a feeling and Long time were both great, the rest also totally cromulent

As always, a 12 min medley is a bad idea (Sing about me), but am willing to overlook. A few great songs, just that 1 unplayable and threads needle between cohesive vibe without being super repetitive sonically

Liked the first 2/3 of the album in terms of good vocals and plenty of guitar-y guitar, although nothing besides Boys are Back in Town was particularly memorable.

Firesuite, Sea Song and Catch the Sun all sounded like good songs, but I wasn't motivated to repeat any of them and probably will never listen to any of them again.

Sound and Vision was the only song that was actually good

Think I made solid effort at being open minded but found all of these songs super boring

Every bass line was awesome, but only Le Freak (amazing) and I Want Your Love (great) were actually above average as songs

California Dreamin is awesome and I liked Go Where You Wanna Go. Rest were meh and I hate Monday, Monday

I thought Zig Zag Wanderer and Yellow Brick Road were fun, although not sure they were actually good. Instrumentals at the back-end we're awful.

I was into the idea of this but it wasn't campy/dramatic enough. Instead it was background music to me, prettying boring. I liked This Corrosion and Dominion/Mother Russia best.

This guy's voice has a very punchable face. Seeing Other People is good enough theme and lyrics to overcome, but rest was meh to bad

It's basically impossible for instrumentals to be great songs, but a lot of these are actually good (Building Steam, Stem/Long Stem, Mutual Slump, Midnight in a Perfect World) and none are terrible

Sometimes was a fine song

Drinking songs should have good choruses. Wasn't paying close attention but I didn't really hear any on this album

First few songs were corny enough to be fun, but then it got more boring

I didn't end up finding a 3rd song to really get into, but Inside and Hurt are too good and none of the songs were bad

Sneaked into a 3 by being short. Only 2 good songs--Roadhouse Blues and Waiting for the Sun--but rest of it was over before I was hating it

Pretty boring sonically other than Blitzkrieg Bop but still enjoyed Judy is a Punk, Let's Dance and Today Your Love. I guess I didn't find any of the songs funny or transgressive enough to be interesting but liked it when they were getting a bit soft.

Yes newer music is better. First four songs are all great, none of the songs are cringe and it's over before it gets boring

Better than sha-men but unfortunately still electronic music from the 90s

Liked all of I Know it's Over, Bigmouth Strikes Again, and There is a Light that Never Goes Out, but didn't repeat any of them, so fell a bit below really liked/4 for me

Production is rough sometimes but still good energy and chuck d is awesome

Like qtip, thought Getting Up, Believe and Shaka were good, but nothing here was great

I think 2 good songs - This is Love and You Said Something, rest kind of boring to me although I'm sure the lyrics are impressive

Band could've been interesting but this album had way too many covers that added nothing to original

Liked A Day at the Races, Remember His Name and Thin Line, but ultimately not that memorable

Didn't know The Sinking Feeling which was great in addition to This is the Day. Other than the first track, rest were good as well, was even liking the ridiculously extended outros

I'm sure the lyrics were good but music/voice too boring to pay attention to

Would've definitely been a 2 if I listened to the whole album; a lot of junk on here. My Sweet Lord, What is Life and If Not For You were good songs tho
