Interesting lyrics but not an enjoyable listen for me, the vocals are essentially spoken word and the instrumental section did nothing of interest
Unmistakable REM sound, I enjoyed the instrumentation on this record, but the mix made the vocals sound a little bit muddy.
Personally I enjoyed the second half of the album more than the first, the stand out song for me was Shaking Through.
Overall this is a decent debut album but it didn’t blow me away.

Separating art from artist here, this is a fantastic album, I really like the way the skits break up the album.
My stand out songs were Spaceship and Jesus Walks
I was not hugely knowledgeable about Billy Joel outside of some of his biggest hits, so this is my first time listening to an entire album of his.
This Album is a wall to wall banger for me, it has the perfect balance of fun upbeat tunes and more thoughtful songs like Vienna and she’s always a woman.
Yes some of the lyrics are a bit cheesy, but that adds to the fun, I enjoyed this album so much I’m gonna get it on vinyl.
I also think it’s the perfect length for an album (45 minutes), I find the longer the album the more likely you are to find filler, this album has no skips for me.
Favoutite track is The Stranger

The only song worth listening to on this album is song 2, the rest of this album is an in-cohesive mess, I actually had to pause it multiple times during Essex Dogs it was that bad to listen to

Cocteau Twins - Tressure ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I quite liked the instrumental elements on this record but I really wasn’t a fan of the lyrics and vocals here, I’d probably rate this 3.5/5, I had a listen to some of their hits and preferred them to this album, I think this album was a little bit too artsy for me.
I wanted to give this album a higher rating, but I feel like there’s a decent amount of filler on here.
The sound of this album is pure 90s Britain, Bitter Sweet Symphony is a classic but I’m going to give my standout track to Lucky Man, I enjoyed the lyrics on the majority of these tracks but the music started to feel repetitive about half way through the album.
Would listen to again if I was in the mood for some Brit pop but don’t think I’ll be rushing back to this one.
It was nice to have on in the background while I’m working, other than that this Album left no lasting impression on me, other than recognising the opening track as it’s been used in countless British TV dramas.

To quote Patrick Bateman, this was a “little too, ‘new wave’ for my taste”.
This one wasn’t for me, not a fan of the vocals and it just didn’t do anything interesting for me, was happy for it to be over.
I’m surprised how much I enjoyed this, I’ve never really listened to Jazz and wasn’t looking forward to trying this.
I can see how this was considered revolutionary at the time, the musicianship here is top notch, I would say my favourite track is either Spanish key or Miles runs the voodoo down.
It misses out on one star for the fact that it’s not something I’ll be adding to my regular rotation at this point, but if I’m in the mood for Jazz, I’d definitely give this another play.
I’m certainly no fan of Grime and this has done nothing to change my mind on the genre, was very happy for this one to be over and done with.

Definitely not my usual genre to listen to but this was a decent listen, quite relaxing to listen to while working but probably wouldn’t seek it out again, a solid 3 star album.
This is barely scraping a 3, really liked the instrumentation but the vocalist had a really annoying voice paired with poor lyrics.
This is music for the type of person who thinks WWE is real.
Really enjoyed this album, it feels like a blend of punk, metal and grunge, I’d give this a 4.5/5, I’m debating rounding this up to a full 5 as I can see this just sneaking into my regular rotation.

Easy listening but pretty unremarkable for the most part, Another Gr, Another Planet is the stand out track by a big margin.
This is my second Dylan album on this challenge, I’ve got to say I preferred it a lot more than the first album I listened to, I’m debating giving this a full 5 stars, will give it another play to be sure, my favourite track is a toss between Idiot wind and Tangled Up in Blue

I really enjoyed this album, I’m familiar with some of CCR’s albums, I don’t think this is there best, but Fogerty’s vocals are peak 1960’s Americana, makes you want to sit by a swamp and drink a few beers with your mates.
This is one of those albums where I feel out of touch with most of the reviews, I really wasn’t a fan of this, I’m not hugely into Jazz to begin with, so maybe this is lost on me, I just found it a bit of a mess of instruments.
I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this album, I can’t comment on the lyrics as I don’t speak French, but the instrumentation is top notch, a solid album

You know what, Elvis Costello gets some hate on here, but this was a solid listen, maybe I'm in a generous mood, it gets a 4

I’d give this a solid 4/5, it misses out on 5 stars because it feels like there’s something missing that stops this from being really memorable, Keith Richards guitar work is phenomenal though
This is sitting on a knife’s edge between a 3&4, it’s enjoyable enough, pretty standard blues rock, but it does feel a bit long and not much of a variety between tracks.
Easiest 5 stars I’ve given so far, I can’t pick any flaws with this album, probably one of my favourite live album.

Wasn't a huge fan of this, the vocalist wasn't great and the album cover honestly gave me the creeps.
Pretty Meh about this one, it was listenable, New Wave just isn’t my thing, only highlight was Strangelove, as I recognised the opening from The Fast & The Furious
I don’t think I’ve heard a more repetitive album in my life, only 2 songs in and it felt like I’d been listening for at least half an hour, I’m going to spare this a 1 as it is listenable, but once you’ve heard 2 or 3 tracks you get the gist of the album
I was excited for a split second thinking I’d got The Beetles, instead I got whatever this is, just a bit of a mess of an album, there are some light hearted tracks on this so I’ll give it a 2, but it barely gets a 2

A solid Brit pop album, I was already familiar with their biggest hit “alright”, this album has aged really well, but I feel like it’s missing something which leaves this with a solid 4 stars
This is a really solid album, I enjoyed the variety it brings by featuring a couple of different artists, a lot of the songs feel unique, it misses out on 5 stars because I’ve heard You Can Call Me Al so many times I find it quite an annoying track now

How on earth did this make the list? This was painful to listen to, virtually no enjoyment here.
This was an exceptional surprise to me, the musicianship here is really top notch! A few of the songs oddly reminded me of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, this is why I started this project!

God that was boring, how did a soundtrack/score make it on the list? Without context it makes it a lot harder to give a proper rating
AC/DC are a band that made many great songs, but I feel like they never put out a truly great album, this is about as close as they got.
The band found a formula and stuck to it for most of there careers, however the Brian Johnson era definitely has a more bluesy feel compared to the Bon Scott albums, This is so close to being a 5 star album to me, if nothing else due to Nostalgia as AC/DC were my introduction to rock as a teen
Pretty boring really, I’ve had 3 or 4 Elvis Costello albums at this point (130 ish albums in) and don’t understand why there are so many, once you’ve heard one, none of the others do anything wildly different, this is ok to listen to but nothing more than that

Jimi is another artist who wrote some incredible songs, but didn’t always have incredible albums, there’s lots to enjoy here, but also a good chunk of filler, I’m gonna give this a 4, standout track is All along the watchtower, makes me want to ride a Huey through the jungles of Nam

This could honestly be a greatest hits type of album looking at the track list, easy 5 star album, one of the all time great pop records
Some really solid instrumentation on this record, definitely on the experimental side of rock, the things that stop this getting a 5 are the vocals weren’t great and the last song was a mess of instruments with no real focus

The Number of the Beast is the first Maiden album with Bruce Dickinson on vocals, I’d argue it’s also a transitional album as the band moved from away from the punk elements of the first two albums.
I’d say the only filler track here is Gangland, all the other tracks are staples in Maidens catalog.
Hallowed be thy name is also what I would consider to be Maidens best song, I never get tired of it.
Pretty solid album, really good blend of psych and blues rock, but Janis Joplins vocals aren’t really for me.
The only way I can describe this is bland, this is like eating boiled chicken breast with rice and broccoli, devoid of anything that sparks enjoyment
