Hard to remember they're a real band, pleasantly surprised

He got all the instruments out of the library, and wanted to get his money's worth. Very bizarre, including the weird little comedy character at the start of track 2. Credit where it is due, the first 30 seconds of 2 or 3 of them would be good theme tunes for snooker highlights on the BBC, but then just goes on way too long.

what about justice for my ears? Honestly, this is just drivel. All the songs sound the same and that same is really really bad, they also manage to be twice as long as they need to be while doing that, at least Slipknot had the decency not to suck up so much of my time. Their name is also really unimaginative. A few songs to pull out One - yep, you nailed the rating lads The Shortest Straw - that's what I drew to have to listen to this Harvester of Sorrow - credit for dipping away from the derivative heavy metal bag of words their sort normally indulge in, to talk about a sad time at a chain restaurant The Frayed Ends of Sanity - pretty much where I was this deep into it

Quite good, especially when you remember when it came Found the motifs a bit repetitive

Sufjan Stevens (no relation of Cat or Shakin') is always someone I feel like I should like, or assume I would, but never really tried or did get into. This album confirms that, it's like just a bit too meh and poetry for me, reminds me a lot of songs from like Phoebe Bridgers or Belle and Sebastian that I find meh, compared to their better ones. But apart from Chicago, there aren't enough of the "better ones" compared to the meh. And I don't like to indulge concept albums.

A low 4 perhaps, but just enough on there to give me fugees vibes to keep me interested, especially the last couple of songs

does feel like it could have been quite good, but just too many weird beepy noises, and then the fact the singer is a cunt makes you want to mark more harshly as well

Fun fact, I got this album when I was like all 15 and quite liking the idea of being a bit hipster and musically pretentious. Some things never change. But it is still very beautiful

...news. None of the Talking Heads heavy hitters on there, but it does flow very nicely as an album, and Heaven is really really good

had some good tunes on there, can really see the influence it had on later Britpop too

was torn between a 2 and 3 here, it felt like it had a lot of potential in the first few songs but didn't really live up to it. Then got quite self-indulgent toward the end which I did not care for. I'll be generous and give it a 3 but it definitely had 4 potential

Me, listening politely I've said it once, I'll say it 1001 times, there's good material on here, but need to cut out the rubbish and get themselves down to a normal album length. Once again, cost themselves a point in doing so

actually surprisingly good beyond the obvious jokes about CCR, even if I do love how the genre is called "swamp rock"
